Curly had two days to act and Swansea had two months.

I think it’s just interesting that every defense of Swansea not immediately acting are the same ones that are argued against for Curly. “He didn’t want to alert Daisuke or makes things worse for Anya either Jimmy!” I mean people also assume that about Curly and the crew. “He has to think about his plan of action and a right moment!” Again so did Curly, power and authority aside, he still would have to think of what he had to do. “He makes sure he doesn’t have to be around Jimmy!” So did Curly and they only do this to an extent, both give Jimmy more than a few opening to keep harassing Anya.

This isn’t defense of Curly nor a damnation of Swansea. Their actions are very parallel to each others in tragic and sour ways when it comes to how they approached helping Anya. In the grand scheme of it all they both did the same thing: Nothing. No action either took stopped the inevitable outcome of her death nor Jimmy’s continued damage to themself.

The only real difference is Swansea didn’t like Jimmy which is pretty substantial, but also just as damning as Curly knowing how bad Jimmy could get to an extent. He had even less of a reason to wait, even more of a reason to act seeing as he was now worried for Anya AND Daisuke. He is not bound by the possible procedure as Captain and actively does not care about what happens next. So what does it matter if he acted in the moment? Why did he wait? I think he’s just as morally complex and grey as Curly and we hold him on a pedestal that still perpetuates things in rape culture the game critiques.

It’s not just enough to dislike and be abrasive to predators/abusers like Jimmy. It’s not enough to just put yourself between them and the other person. It’s not enough to hold tensions when you know someone is vulnerable. He and Curly do the exact same things but on different sides of the coin. I ask how is it better to not turn a blind eye but still not really do anything about what you are seeing? Not until it affects you atleast…

The game makes a big point to not put men doing the bare minimum or who wait to do more on pedestals and I’m actually surprised so many are missing that point.

I'm starting to feel like my current horror film project is just cursed

Like, I made a first attempt to shoot it back in early 2020, but just when I had a cast the pandemic started.

In late 2021 I made another attempt, had everything ready, but then the pandemic worsened and due to Covid restrictions I couldn't meet up with everyone for the shoot and we just gave up.

Then last fall I started my current attempt after joining my film club, this time around with a larger cast and crew. I wanted to start shooting in January, but had organization issues, so I pushed back the shoot to early March.

Two weeks before the planned start, one of the actors suddenly said he won't be able to make it, but luckily I found a replacement fairly quickly.

The same day another actor texted me to let me know he's in intensive care in the hospital and might not make it to the first day of shooting, so I moved all his shots to a later date.

One week before the planned start a stand-in actress left the project because she noticed she had exams during the time. I texted several other people to no avail until I ultimately found someone after three days.

TWO DAYS BEFORE THE PLANNED START ONE OF THE LEAD ACTRESSES LEFT THE PROJECT DUE TO A FAMILY EMERGENCY so I texted my friend in high panic mode and luckily she had time.

All this and the new availabilities led to me pushing the shoot back two more weeks.

And now we wait what's gonna go wrong until then.

Anyways. For these one, I'm thinking it could be one where she has a nightmare and goes to Frankie/Papa for comfort. To explain what the nightmare was about, she has to draw it out. The nightmare is about her losing Papa to the higher ups and her getting killed by Monster Frankie.

Other Frankie sighed at that, and his eyes drifted back down at you. He’d been about to place a hand atop your head...

Only for you to tear yourself away, and hurry towards one of the corners of the room—where items were scattered about.

Some of which included paper and crayons. You came in here often enough, and the rabbit was aware of what you liked.

He watched as you sat yourself down right in the middle of the floor, sniffling, and scribbling away.

Other Frankie approached, and from behind him, he could tell that Henry was getting closer, too.

“Me?” The rabbit watched as you completed a rabbit, dropping the current crayon onto the floor.

You always tried your best to put some differences with your rabbit dad, and the other two.

There was a tiny nod from you. The Frankie on the piece of paper was simply sprawled out, two x’s in place of his eyes, the rabbit realized.

He shared a glance with Henry for just a moment, before the two of them looked back at you.

And in that time... to their surprise, you’d finished the rest of the drawing.

It made the rabbit frown.

There was him—and a few figures seemingly above him. Compared to the drawn Frankie, it was hard to tell what those exactly were.

In the corner of the page, there was Monster Frankie, who looked menacing—as menacing as a little one could possibly draw the rabbit.

And then there was you, seemingly cornered by him.
