        “You  would  think  teaching  pilots  would  be  easier  than  teaching  young  Jedi.”  Luke  mused  as  he  opened  up  the  panel  on  his  ship,  Artoo  at  his  side  ready  and  waiting  to  help  with  the  routine  maintenance  a  familiar  sight  and  company  he’d  missed.  It  had  been  a  long  day  with  the  new  pilots,  and  though  it  was  easy  to  slip  back  into  the  role  of  teacher,  one  he  had  loved  dearly  back  at  his  academy,  Luke  was  surprised  by  the  struggle  he  faced.  “The  truth  is,  so  much  of  what  I  know  about  flying  is  just…  instinctual.  It’s  always  been  that  way.  You  know  I’d  never  actually  flown  a  ship  before  the  Alliance,  when  they  assigned  me  an  X-Wing  for  the  fight  that  ended  in  the  destruction  of  the  first  Death  Star,  that  was  my  first  time  flying.”
