lrb i do think things like hashtags and language should definitely be credited and contextualized, for instance, #sayhername (begun by Kimberlé Crenshaw and her team) is originally about how the police-sanctioned murder of Black women specifically is often glossed over. especially when the idea is about how a group is forgotten in conversations, an idea's origin should be remembered and credited, and prevented from being decontextualized, in conversations that use it.
the post i just reblogged did qualify this, though. and when it comes to entire movements, and the successful methods they use and the lessons they learn, it isn't theft for other movements to be inspired by them or to use those methods for their own causes. no one's situation improves if we keep ideas from each other, but if we share ideas, build on them, and help each other bring them to life, we have more solidarity, understanding, connection, and, ultimately, success.
#to clarify i *am not saying* that a specific phrase like sayhername should be used for other movements#since it has a specific context and purpose#but for instance. protests for freedom in one country inspiring and motivating and lending ideas#to a protest for freedom in another country#is an example of people coming together. not of theft of ideas#like with the hong kong protests and black lives matter in 2020#or with how the irish and the choctaw tribe have supported each other#or how the lgbt+ community and the mineworkers in the uk supported each other when thatcher was in power#(the plot of pride (2014))#all of these events inspire me a lot and i think we can always use more of this solidarity and connection#and of course we do need to be careful when it comes to information sharing#don't give ideas to fascist or otherwise bigoted movements - learn their signs and dogwhistles

Thinking of Wolfstar and how I sound like a freak trying to explain how
This
Became this
Like I would love to explain how around 2014, there was a sudden rise and resurrection second coming of christ our lord saviour Wolfstar. And, we fancasted so hard that almost 10 years later, we’re still stuck on this. And how most of the hp queer fandom started to latch onto these characters cause there was no other representation and these two started it all.
In the wake of she-who-shall-not-be-named spitting in our trans brothers and sisters’ faces, more of the hp fandom has retreated to the Marauders Era (a completely fanon lore with POCs and Queer people). That somehow this fanon non-profit lore had a better understanding of the world than canon and redeemed Slytherins by showing how inter-generational trauma affected them. By showing us that Bellatrix Lestrange was only a pawn in the Black family’s game. That Narcissa and Regulus were only doing what they had to do to survive. Sirius’ madness was not just for eccentric reasons.
This fandom highlighted the treatment of house elves. Talked about slavery. Talked about Queen Dame Lily EVANS’ childhood!! She wasn’t just a plot device to redeem Severus Snape. She was the muggle voice in the group. She was the witch that was outcasted by her muggle sister because she believed in magic. She was minority in two worlds. She was the Marauders’ friend. She wasn’t a prude or a damsel to be saved. She wasn’t just Harry’s mother. She was one of the brightest witches of her time. Harry inherited her WIT, her perseverance, her defiance, her pride, unrelenting nature. Harry Potter inherited more than her eyes. He inherited her ability to thrive in the face of trauma.
Joanne could have never given this to us. I don’t think any one person could give us this. This was a collection of rewritten lore from people who loved the universe it created but wished to be seen. And, I love my sometimes problematic and inconsistent little fandom.
How do I not sound insane doing this?

Does maverique have anything to do with gendermaverick?
Hey anon, thanks for sending me your question. :-)
So, the answer to your question is a bit complicated. The words have an intertwined history, but they ultimately are distinct.
Below, I will talk about the history of each term and then compare and contrast them at the end of the post.
Let's start with a timeline of the two terms.
[Image ID: an image of a timeline of the terms "maverique" and "gendermaverick". The image includes a centered, wavy line with 8 points that are colored in a rainbow gradient from orange to green corresponding to a section of text for each event plotted on the timeline. The image reads: "5/31/2014 - coining of maverique. The term "maverique", created by Vesper, made it's official debut with the first iteration of it's definition. 06/15/2014 -first reworking of maverique definition. Vesper does the first reworking of the definition of maverique and created a maverique pride flag. 06/16/2014 - Haxaaya Proposes a Variant: Gendermaverick. Tumblr user Haxaaya contacts Vesper regarding the proposal of the term "gendermaverick", a gender that draws from both maverique and genderfuck experiences. 06/18/2014 - first definition of gendermaverick. The first iteration of the "gendermaverick" definition is posted by Haxaaya. Vesper responds with feed back, articulating a lack of similarity between terms. 06/18/2014 - first reworking of gendermaverick definition. Follow Vesper's feedback, Haxaaya attempted to refine the term and posted a revised definition. 06/21/2014 - final iteration of maverique's definition. Vesper posted the final revision of their term, "maverique". 07/06/2014 - final iteration of gendermaverick's definition. Haxaaya posted the final revision of the definition of their term, "gendermaverick", including both a formal and simplified definition. 07/08/2014 - gendermaverick pride flag created. Haxaaya created a gendermaverick pride flag, which was submitted to tumblr blog Pride-Flags-For-Us." In the bottom right corner, the image reads: "Graphic by Gent (Gneder-Jargon)". ./. End ID]
History of The Term Maverique
[PT: History of The Term Maverique ./. End PT]
"Maverique" was coined by Vesper on their blog, Queer As Cat (link) [PT: Queer As Cat ./. End PT] , back in 2014. It appears that it's definition has been rewritten by Vesper three different times while they tried to find the correct wording.
Their first iteration (link) [PT: first iteration ./. End PT] of Maverique was:
a non-binary gender characterized by an unconventional and unothodox internal sense of self and the interrelationship between that sense of self and society. maveriques feel no connection with concepts of femininity or masculinity, but instead feel a sense of gender which is completely independent of conventional ideas of gender; a sense of gender which is entirely its own. a maverique’s sense of gender is strong, leaving little room for apathy or neutrality. there is no middle ground, as maverique is a point between nothing. there is no gray area, as maverique is not a shade on a palette. maveriques are mavericks, plain and simple, but please– don’t forget the “-ique”.

End PT]
This first definition can be summed up as:
a non-binary gender identity that is not connected to femininity, masculinity or neutrality (atrinary).
a strong, specific sense of gender that is definitively not apathetic or neutral.
a distinct quality, not being between any other genders or vague/unclear in nature.
conceptually nonconformist (unorthodox), existing out of the bounds of cultural norms (unconventional).
definitively involving the dynamic of one's maverique gender and how it is functions in greater society and within oneself

The second iteration (link) [PT: second iteration ./. End ID] of the definition was:
a non-binary gender characterized by autonomy and inner conviction regarding a sense of gender which is unorthodox, unconventional and entirely independent of conventional concepts of gender.
[PT: a non-binary gender characterized by autonomy and inner conviction regarding a sense of gender which is unorthodox, unconventional and entirely independent of conventional concepts of gender. ./. End PT]
This second definition can be summed up as:
an autonomous gender identity held with a sense of conviction.
Separate from existing conventional concepts of gender (atrinary).
conceptually nonconformist (unorthodox), existing out of the bounds of cultural norms (unconventional).

The third (and last) iteration (link) [PT: third (and last) iteration ./. End PT] of the definition is:
a gender characterized by autonomy and inner conviction regarding a sense of self that is entirely independent of male/masculinity, female/femininity or anything which derives from the two while still being neither without gender nor of a neutral gender.
[PT: a gender characterized by autonomy and inner conviction regarding a sense of self that is entirely independent of male/masculinity, female/femininity or anything which derives from the two while still being neither without gender nor of a neutral gender. ./. End ID]

an autonomous gender identity held with a sense of conviction.
a specific, atrinary gender identity.
[PT: an autonomous gender identity held with a sense of conviction. a specific, atrinary gender identity. ./. End ID]
History of The Term Gendermaverick
[PT: History of The Term Gendermaverick ./. End PT]
Approximately 2 weeks after the coining of the term "Maverique", user Haxaaya contacted Vesper to propose a related term (link) [PT: propose a related term ./. End PT] to Maverique called "Gendermaverick".
The definition for Gendermaverick (link) [PT: definition for Gendermaverick ./. End PT] is as follows:
Gendermaverick: a non-traditional (and non-binary) gender experience characterized by both the innate sense of disconnect and independence from binary gender and the intent to subvert society’s expectations of gender. (See also: maverique and genderpunk/genderf*ck)
[PT: Gendermaverick: a non-traditional (and non-binary) gender experience characterized by both the innate sense of disconnect and independence from binary gender and the intent to subvert society's expectations of gender. (See also: maverique and genderpunk/genderf*ck) ./. End PT]
This definition can be summed up as:
a non-binary gender that is non-traditional and subversive.
a gender identity involving a sense of disidentification and sovereignty from the gender binary.
[PT: a non-binary gender that is non-traditional and subversive. a gender identity involving a sense of disidentification and sovereignty from the gender binary. ./. End PT]
According to the coiner of Gendermaverick, the term was intended to be the same as Maverique, but with an added element of "deliberate and direct intent to challenge gender expectations".
Vesper provided feedback, stating that gendermaverick (using the quoted definition above) and maverique have little in common, as maverique isn't an active type of genderfuckery nor does it involve a sense of disconnection from binary gender. Explaining, rather, that maverique is a specific, autonomous atrinary identity that involves an innate inner conviction of their gender in the face of how their outherine identity is deemed deviant/anomalous by society at large and how that is internalized by the individual themselves.
Not long after, the definition for Gendermaverick was redefined by the coiner (link) [PT: the definition for Gendermaverick was redefined by the coiner. ./. End PT]:
Gendermaverick: a distinctly unorthodox (and non-binary) gender experience characterized by a self-determined and autonomous sense of anomalous disconnect and/or independence from traditional binary gender. Furthermore, gendermaverick is an identity undertaken/used with the intention of deliberate subversion of society’s sense of binary gender. (See also: maverique and genderpunk/genderf*ck)

Furthermore, gendermaverick is an identity undertaken/used with the intention of deliberate subversion of society’s sense of binary gender. (See also: maverique and genderpunk/genderf*ck) ./. End PT]
This second revision summed up is:
A non-binary gender that is conceptually nonconformist (unorthodox).
A gender identity that is autonomous in nature (AUIN) and self-determined.
A gender identity involving a sense of disidentification and sovereignty from the gender binary.
A gender that is non-traditional and subversive with regards to the gender binary.

The last formal definition given by the coiner (link) [PT:last formal definition given by the coiner ./. End PT] was:
Gendermaverick (dictionary version): an unorthodox gender experience characterized by a self-determined sense of anomalous disconnect from binary gender, often combined with the intention to subvert conventional notions of binary gender (see also: maverique and genderpunk) Gendermaverick (understandable version): a non-traditional gender that you decide the meaning of for yourself, but which is definitely disconnected from binary gender (i.e. man or woman). it can be also be thought of as a gender that intends to mess with society’s notions of a binary gender. (similar concepts are maverique and genderpunk)

The coiner, in an anonymous ask, also described Gendermaverick as, "a deliberately unorthodox/anomalous non-binary gender".
The most recent revision can be summed up as:
a non-binary gender that is conceptually nonconformist (unorthodox).
a gender identity that is self-determined.
a feeling of inconsistency and/or deviance coupled with a disconnected from the gender binary.
a gender that is non-traditional and subversive with regards to the gender binary.

Comparing & Contrasting Maverique With Gendermaverick
[PT: Comparing & Contrasting Maverique With Gendermaverick ./. End PT]
After reviewing all this information, I have developed an interpretation of the terms Maverique and Gendermaverick. I am Neutrois, not Maverique or Gendermaverick, so I am not speaking from any sort of personal experience, but rather making sense of and summarizing what I found from both coiners in regards to the respective terms they coined. If a Maverique and/or Gendermaverick individual has insight to provide, I would love to hear from them.
Maverique is:
a distinct, specific atrinary (ATRIN) gender that is autonomous in nature (AUIN).
not a lack of gender (AGIN) , vague (VAIN), neutral/neutrine (NIN/NEUIN) nor apathetic (APIN).
not located between any other gender or group of genders.
a gender involving a sense of conviction regarding one's sense of self that is unorthodox and unconventional in it's concept and internalization.
[PT: a distinct, specific atrinary gender that is autonomous in nature (AUIN). not a lack of gender (AGIN) , vague (VAIN), neutral/neutrine (NIN/NEUIN) nor apathetic (APIN). a gender involving a sense of conviction regarding one's sense of self that is unorthodox and unconventional in it's concept and internalization. ./. End PT]
Gendermaverick is:
an autonomous (AUIN, abinary (ABIN) gender involving an anomalous disconnect (WIN) from the gender binary.
gender non-conforming (GENOIN), subversive, non-traditional and/or unorthodox in it's nature.
[PT: an autonomous (AUIN, abinary (ABIN) gender involving an anomalous disconnect (WIN) from the gender binary. gender non-conforming (GENOIN), subversive, non-traditional and/or unorthodox in it's nature. ./. end PT]
Both maverique and gendermaverick are:
abinary (ABIN) gender identities.
autonomous in nature (AUIN).
genders that challenge the existing paradigm of the gender binary and it's derivative identities in some way.
[PT: abinary (ABIN) gender identities. autonomous in nature (AUIN). genders that challenge the existing paradigm of the gender binary and it's derivative identities in some way. ./. End PT]
Maverique and gendermaverick differ in that:
maverique is definitively atrinary (ATRIN), whereas gendermaverick is described as abinary (ABIN), but not specified as atrinary.
maverique definitively involves a sense of conviction regarding one's sense of self, gendremaverick does not.
gendermaverick definitively involves gendrfuckery and/or gender non-conformity, maverique does not.
gendermaverick involves an innate disconnection from the gender binary, maverique does not.
[PT: maverique is definitively atrinary (ATRIN), whereas gendermaverick is described as abinary (ABIN), but not specified as atrinary. maverique definitively involves a sense of conviction regarding one's sense of self, gendremaverick does not. gendermaverick definitively involves gendrfuckery and/or gender non-conformity, maverique does not. gendermaverick involves an innate disconnection from the gender binary, maverique does not. ./. End PT]
Ultimately, Maverique and Gendermaverick are pretty different from each other. Aside from the similarities listed above and an intertwined etymology, they are not all that alike.
TLDR;
Maverique was coined by Vesper. Not long after this coining, tumblr user Haxaaya created the term "Gendermaverick", articulating that it was near identical to Maverique, with the added characteristic of being deliberate and direct in it's intent to challenge gender expectations. As each coiner elaborated on their respective terms, it became apparent that the terms were distinct. Aside from both genders being abinary and subversive in some sense, they both are both different experiences. Their etymology and early history are enmeshed, but ultimately, each identity are notably distinct in concept.

hiii it's florian and welcome back to: i read things i knew i'd hate so others don't have to suffer!
today we are describing stormwatch vol 3 (2011-2014)!
reasons why this was a no-good very bad icky yucky wucky fucker:
• swift and doctor were fucking erased from existence and didn't survive the transfer!
• engineer evil arc (not clickbait)!
• ruined the origins of apollo, midnighter, jack hawksmoor, and engineer! ex; no mention of jack being a result from repeated alien abduction/experimentation, angie becoming engineer was a result of experimentation rather than her choice, alien experimentation rather than u.n. government experimentation for mid and apollo.
• martian manhunter evil arc (also not clickbait)! ruined pre-established martian lore!
• what they had in hellstrike's backstory.
• had mid try to kill jenny quantum and later on say he wish he was successful and should try again!
• killed jenny quantum, brought her back, erased her from existence, brought her back, and erased her again! (i am not shitting you this is exactly what happened)
• tying into the above, nobody seems to fucking care that jenny quantum is gone! they for 99% of this comic were fucking awful to jenny quantum!
• lobo! i just hate him.
• harry tanner! i also just hate him not only as a character but they kept making all of angie's woes about this stupid bastard!
• kept beating into the ground with the first writer and continuing it to the next and next writers that midnighter and apollo aren't together. that they aren't friends, just colleagues. he quote 'hardly knows him at all' but they proceed to somehow queerbait the canon gay married couple they un-married! that's right, they did that! it took until the final issues to illude to them finally dating (again)! it took until 2023 pride to have them married! AGAIN!
• too many fucking batman mentions that show him on panel! if i wanted to read about batman, I WOULD BE READING ABOUT BATMAN.
• one arc fucked with red lantern lore i'm pretty sure
• zealot's appearance in it was not kind to her!
• destroyed stormwatch established lore thereby destroying the lore for all stormwatch members
• literally no wildcats or gen 13 mention.
• how they wrote apollo. his characterization, acknowledging on one hand that yeah he's strong as superman but they keep having him literally keel over from everything and having to be rescued by midnighter again and again, calling him yet again stupid and too emotional, making him bothered by mid killing (despite that this apollo's introduction has him do literally that but that they ignored/suddenly he don't kill no more and condemns it), etc.
• apollo's short blond hair and midnighter's awful chin spike.
• every single plot in this i am fairly certain an infant could do better writing. they could do it with actual quality writing without any racism or homophobia that stormwatch vol 3 very fucking much has and i cannot begin to tell you how much that pisses me off. i am sick of seeing racism in comics for fuck's sake. i am sick of seeing homophobia in comics.
#psa#dc#dc comics#wildstorm#the authority#apollo#midnighter#jenny quantum#jack hawksmoor#angela spica#engineer#apollo and midnighter#midpollo#buds.txt#*scribbling this down in notes*#i'd tag the other authority members but they're not fucking in it!!#barely any significance made for jenny sparks btw. and literally no henry bendix mention at all#or jackson king or christine trelane.#there was a fuji cameo but he didn't even talk...#oh wow sleep deprived me was angry. understandable

Fic authors self-rec! List your favourite five fics that you've written, then tag at least five other writers! Spread the self-love. 💙
I was tagged by @marloviandevil and have spent the last like 45 minutes agonizing over which fics I feel are worth posting, thank you though bc now I've evaluated and have found some gems I forgot about writing
--
talking to the moon Ship: CT-782 - Hevy/Reader Rating: M Summary: Finding the frequency was an accident. Falling in love with Hevy, that, that was just fate. Why this one: This was the fic I wrote in 24 hours after rewatching the Rishi episode and it was honestly self-indulgent, but it's got both a bittersweet ending and an alternate ending so it's the best of both worlds Status: Finished
--
Signs of the Skrill Ship: Dagur the Deranged/Bragi the Berserk (Original Character), Viggo Grimborn/Original Character(s) Rating: M Summary: As the youngest chief in the Barbaric Archipelago, Dagur the Deranged quickly learned three things; first, you can always forgive but never forget. second, your family is your life, and third, you can't rule alone. Bragi the Berserk has known three things to be true: first, family was what you made it, second, it was entirely possible to be lonely in a room full of people, third, if you give someone your heart, you better hope they would keep it. Two young men attempt to navigate duty, grudges, honour and glory, while trying to keep each other afloat. Why this one: I always wondered what would happen if the How To Train Your Dragon franchise (specifically Race To The Edge) would fare if it met more Game of Thrones style writing. Now I'm definitely not the next GRRM but It has been an interesting explanation into the side characters who had plenty of potential. Currently being re-written from its original finished state. My pride and joy fanfic, have been working on this since 2014 when I first started watching HTTYD and the fic has quite literally grown with me. Status: Unfinished.
--
when the rain comes down Ship: Halfdan the Black/Original Male Character(s) Rating: M Summary: King Harald arrives in Kattegat, Bragi moves to follow his fate, as it comes in the form of brown, wild eyes and blond hair. Why this one: What's a bit of fruitiness within a period-piece drama about vikings? Very dramatic, many liberties taken with plot, a fix-it in the works. Currently being re-written from its original finished state. Status: Unfinished.
--
4. don't wanna cry but i break that way
Ship: Nil Gen Relationship: Hound & Original Clone Trooper(s) Rating: M Summary: Chasers died, either by falling off the multi-levels of Coruscant, or by getting shot, or they went missing in the middle of the night on patrol, or Hound lost them during chases on Coruscant's duracrete sidewalks.
He couldn't get attached. Why this one: Admittedly this is probably one of the best Coruscant Guard centric fics I've written (and there's a lot of them). Hound is a character we see very little of (about 1 minute of screentime) but a man and his dog always make me happy... so I may have given him a little bit of sadness too. Part of the Fox & His Shinies series which is my current pride and joy of Clone Wars fics. Status: Finished.
--
5. the poor run with smoke lungs
Ship: Nil Gen Relationship: CC-1010 | Fox & CT-7567 | Rex, CC-1010 | Fox & Original Clone Troopers (s), Dogma & CC-1010 | Fox Rating: M Summary: A vignette style fic about how the 501st and Coruscant Guard coped with being forced to share a space at General Skywalker's command while the Jedi General tracked down Rako Hardeen for the killing of Obi-Wan Kenobi. Why this one: A part of the Clone Wars that is rarely delved into because it's immediately preceded by Umbara, Kadavo and followed by the Wrong Jedi Arc and the Chip Arc. I didn't think many people realized that the 501st were essentially employed to the senate the whole time that Anakin was hunting down Rako Hardeen. Part of the Fox & His Shinies series which is my current pride and joy of Clone Wars fics. Status: Unfinished.
---
I have honorary mention for: two worlds - COD x Avatar Crossover gen fic. Summary: When Phillip Graves gets the opportunity to venture out onto the remote moon, Pandora, a million miles away, at his little brother's recommendation, he takes it with open arms.
--- Tagging - only if you want to! @mamuzzy-creates-stuff/@mamuzzy, @whiskygoldwings, @ithillia, @blackat-t7t, @kworking
#rune's writing#rune's fanfic#ask meme?#tag meme#writing tag meme#no pressure everyone y'all don't have to participate#i couldn't choose ngl bc my shit's all oneshots or unfinished longfics which i keep rewriting#anyway i hope they sound good for y'alls consumption!

Another zine I want to work on is for Billy Elliot's 25th anniversary next year. I wouldn't say this was my gay awakening, but it's certainly remained a great love given my teen obsession with Jamie Bell and how often it appeared on free-to-air television. It sits alongside But I'm a Cheerleader (1999) and Beautiful Thing (1996) as films that made me feel privileged to have grown up gay when I did.
If you've got something nerdy to say about this film, DM me with it (or add comments to a reblog) the second you finish reading.
The zine would talk about Billy Elliot's 'controversy': the debates about whether it counted as queer, and grooming allegations against Daldry for his sheer proximity to a young actor. It would also include how my crush on Jamie Bell developed over the last twenty-five years. But tbh that's all just filler. What I really want to talk about is how its big, nerdy intertextual references make it media created for us rather than a cishet audience.
First reference is from history, because why choose the 1984 miner's strike as your setting if your film had nothing to say about their contributions to Gay Liberation? Perhaps a little headcanon, but no less important to highlight this largely forgotten change in Labour's policy-making both in the UK and here in Australia.
And because we don't have a world of time, and because it was a helpful reminder when it came out, we lean on the 2014 docudrama PRIDE. This one follows Lesbians and Gays Support the Miners (LGSM), who crossed prejudices to show their solidarity during the 1984 strike — going as far as holding a club fundraiser featuring Bronski Beats as their headliner.
LGSM's contributions were ultimately refused by the Miner's Union, and yet they left a lasting impression on mining communities and labour unions. LGSM were subsequently joined by hundreds of miners during Gay Pride 1985 who had by then voted to include gay and lesbian rights in their party portfolio. It was the first time a major political party in the West had committed to supporting queer rights.
Next we slide hard into Matthew Bourne's Swan Lake, which premiered in 1995. This modern re-queerification of the classic ballet by gay composer Pyotr Tchaikovsky has the prince assume part of the princess's role as he pursues a mysterious Stranger (the swan). Here Bourne goes as far as to replace the entire cast of traditionally female swans with sweaty, bare-chested lads.
The 2012 capture watchable [ here ] stars homosexual hearthrob Dominic North as the forlorn prince.
Now, in Billy Elliot, Mrs Wilkinson recounts the classic tale to Billy as they listen to Swan Lake on the ferry. It's a wonderful scene where Wilkinson begins with reverence and dramatics, but ends with her usual boredom, leaving young Billy both confused and unsatisfied with the plot. To me this echoes the desire among 90s content producers to change how we told queer stories.
In Billy Elliot's closing scene, however, we see a 25yo Billy leap onto the stage as Bourne's Stranger rather than the classic princess (even nerdier than that, we see Bourne's original Stranger, Adam Cooper, playing a 25yo Billy Elliot). You realise in future screenings that the opening scene is also an homage to Bourne's Swan Lake: much as the young prince begins his story in bed, dreaming a swan hottie will save him from becoming a man; Billy begins jumping on his bed, flapping his arms, dreaming of something beyond the life he's expected to grow into.
Quick tangent via The Eagle (2011), starring Channing Tatum as Roman legionnaire Marcus and Jamie Bell as his British slave Esca. Now, do we condone slavery? Absolutely not. But we do enjoy watching Tatum and Bell get super clingy as they traip across the countryside in what has to be the most romantic bro film of all time.
Relevance to Billy Elliot? Vague. But hear me out.
The film's based on Rosemary Sutcliff's The Eagle of the Ninth (1954), which ends with Marcus settling down as a farmer with Esca and a Briton wife named Cottia who doesn't appear in the film. Subsequent novels follow the father's ring as it's passed down Marcus's bloodline, meaning they shagged down to produce an heir but implying literally nothing else.
But imagine removing Marcus's wife from the equation altogether (all women, actually), adding 'submission' to the male bonding elements of your film, reprimanding disaster bisexual Channing Tatum for suggesting it's a romance, and then expecting a professional homosexual like me to believe this doesn't count as another gay Jamie Bell movie. That's all I'm saying.
Lastly, I want to talk about Elton John co-writing the musical, and Tom Holland as the most famous Billy. I want to talk about Spanish Billies Pau Gimeno and Cristian López acting together in Paraiso (2021-22). I want to talk about Kate Mara (married to Bell) as Patty Bowes in the first season of POSE (2018-21), and her sister Rooney as Therese Belivet in Carol (2015). I want to talk about so many things.
What would YOU want to write about this film?

Thank you for writing marvelous stories even for villains little known or long forgotten. Ive seen so much beautiful love all around this blog 🫶🏻
My question is, any Disney or Pixar villain you REALLY don't like at all? Not even to write for them? 👀
💕🩷💕 noooo, you're welcome 🩷💕🩷 thank you so much 💕🩷💕🩷💕🩷
And oh, interesting question 🤔
Also hard. I've said this before, but I don't want anyone to ever think they can't come here and talk to me about their favourites! Just cuz I'm not personally into that villain?? Noooo. I can still understand you liking them and support you!!
And also- I kinda pride myself on being able to enjoy certain aspects of every villain! ^^; so even if overall they aren't my favourite, I can still have fun writing them/watching them/talking about them!
But... *sigh* there are of course some that I find much harder to enjoy then others 😅 They're f e w, especially in Disney and Pixar, but they exist and they're under the cut ): XD Haha 😅
Maleficent 2014-2019 (why. make her. sympathetic?? Why take her greenness?? I can respect her as a completely different character and au to 1959 but even then, I don't care about her. )
Jafar 2019 (they made him young??? They made him traditionally handsome??? They ruined his voice?? He's not a creeper anymore??? 😰😣 uh uh no this does not spark joy anymore- )
Cruella 2021 (Same issues as Mal. Let my nasty women be nasty, please.)
The Red Queen 2010-2016. (In fact I don't really care about the Red Queen/Queen of Hearts in general. The animated one is cute!! But I still don't really feel anything for her 😅)
I haven't even attempted to watch the new Lion King or Little Mermaid, and I don't see myself doing so, so those versions of Scar and Ursula go here too 😅
Assistant Mayor Bellweather (I just don't care.)
Evelyn Devour (I have this irrational feeling that she was trying to come onto Mrs Incredible and make her cheat on Mr Incredible the whole time and it upsets me 🤣😭🤣 I can't get past it XD I know, I'm a child.)
Al McWhiggin (He's just... gross?- )
There are also other villains who are just plainly not my type- but for some reason or another I can still write for. For example, Dr Facilier does nothing for me but he is a fun villain- so I can still have a good time writing for him! Or both the Sheriff of Nottingham and Judge Frollo- these gentlemen also stir nothing in me, but they are n a s t y and I can use their characters to fulfil my desire to write certain plots I really wanna try out XD Like corrupt judge/man of religion stuff and corrupt law enforcement/wolfman stuff (; Haha XD In this category we also have Maleficent 59, Judge Doom, King Candy, Strombolli, Goob, etc.

God it’s my favourite thing when an author just builds their AUs by answering a bunch of discrete little asks cacoethes Reiner is on ‼️ my ‼️ mind‼️ 24/7‼️
Would Reiner control readers social groups? What would happen if reader cheated on him would he go apeshit or just do the good ol baby trap
AW TYSM FOR YOUR SUPPORT ANON 🥰🥰 i just love talking about cacoëthes, it’s my absolute bread and butter (and probably the first series that i finished in the ~10+ years i've been writing lol)
reiner definitely controls reader's social groups when he can. before bonding with porco, she was only really allowed to speak with the warriors and his family. anyone else either doesn't pay any mind to her or was too afraid of her (since she originated from paradis and is well-known to be married to the armored titan holder), but very select few like the fisherman that helped her can hold a conversation with her and ignore the status she has. tbh reiner really can't control who she talks to since he's out and about a lot but i think in another ask, i've mentioned that he hired some people to keep watch of her if she's doing anything suspicious or behind his back but they don't really keep complete watch on her bc wtf else is a housewife gonna do (this is literally their undoing bc she got away with a lot before the escape attempt happened 💀💀).
but like after the whole porco shit and the escaping, he never leaves her side and literally goes with her everywhere. groceries, shopping, even a simple stroll to stretch her legs, he's coming with her. conversations with any stranger are cut short and if the warriors are nearby, they'll only get a brief hello and a wave from them. reiner's so smothering that it's even more unbearable and reader never gets the chance for some peace until he leaves for more fighting. BUTTTT when he leaves and the house becomes all quiet, reader can't admit it aloud but she started hating the silence and starts missing his presence, as clingy as he is hehe
I LITERALLLLLYYYYY HAD THIS IDEA BACK WHEN I STARTED THE 2ND PART OF CACOETHES AND WHEN I WAS WRITING THE PORCO PARTS ABOUT LIKE A DIVERGENCE OF THE PLOT WHERE IT'S PORCO'S POV AND HE AND READER GET TOGETHER BEHIND REINER'S BACK. i kinda did wanted to originally add an implication that reader was sleeping with porco but since i was trying to go about this by how the characters were in the actual plot of aot (even tho when i started this blog and posted the first part, i hadn't watched the series since like 2013-2014 so i was extremely rusty when i came back to it), i felt like porco would never try sleeping with his vice captain's wife; maybe he would cause he'd prolly do it out of spite or get on reiner's nerves or has this cocky attitude about being able to get away with it, something to that extent. however, i think he's too prideful to be sleeping with an "island devil" he kinda likes and sorta has a slight amount of respect towards reiner (just bc he's a higher rank and that's about it).
i'm still going to actually make a fic about that plot eventually so everyone can see how reiner acts like in a jealous rage (i also sorta talked about it in a kink ask with the blog's most frequent asking anon, bow anon ( aka 🎀 anon (shoutout to you, you absolute horndog 🫶) if you look around in my answered posts or the love-message tag), and i have another request that's in the works about reiner's jealousy in more detail).
i heavily enjoy talking about cacoëthes and like you said, building upon its silly little fic-verse. sorry to my other fics due to my outspoken favoritism 😭😭 now that i think about it, out of all of them, bounded/boundless and cacoëthes gets asks the most and down boy, down and inamorato gets the least lmfao

would you be able to recommend some good lgbtqia+ films? I'd like to start watching some more but am not sure which ones are worth actually seeing 😓
Ohhhh babe I’m probably an AWFUL person to ask, I have to split movies up over a few days to watch them but I can say that
Pride (2014) was a fun time! I mean, it has difficult plot points and talks about homophobia and prejudice but from what I remember it was done with care. There’s a sandwich making scene that’s lovely and an iconic dance moment to ‘shame, shame, shame’. It’s also the origin of the top 10 smash hit ‘every woman is a lesbian at heart’
Gods own country is a movie I think about regularly. It’s not an easy watch full of happiness but I really enjoyed it. Happy ending I promise!
I know I watched one about a lesbian and a bisexual but I can’t remember it at all, I’m so sorry. My memory for these things is very questionable.
So looks like we are both looking for recommendations! I’m so sorry I couldn’t be more help :(
#yes I’m a travesty who hasn’t seen brokeback mountain because I’m scared of how sad it might be#and moonlight for the same reason#trans and nb rep would be nice to find a movie on or tv show but idk#I’m so bad at watching things#we are in this together anon ♥️

Say Yes to the Marquess. By Tessa Dare. Avon, 2014.
Rating: 4/5 stars
Genre: historical romance
Series: Castles Ever After #2
Summary: After eight years of waiting for Piers Brandon, the wandering Marquess of Granville, to set a wedding date, Clio Whitmore has had enough. She's inherited a castle, scraped together some pride, and made plans to break her engagement.
Not if Rafe Brandon can help it. A ruthless prizefighter and notorious rake, Rafe is determined that Clio will marry his brother—even if he has to plan the dratted wedding himself.
So how does a hardened fighter cure a reluctant bride's cold feet?
● He starts with flowers. A wedding can't have too many flowers. Or harps. Or cakes.
● He lets her know she'll make a beautiful, desirable bride—and tries not to picture her as his.
● He doesn't kiss her.
● If he kisses her, he definitely doesn't kiss her again.
● When all else fails, he puts her in a stunning gown. And vows not to be nearby when the gown comes off.
● And no matter what—he doesn't fall in disastrous, hopeless love with the one woman he can never call his own.
***Full review below.***
Content Warnings: graphic sexual content, suggestion of suicide, disordered eating, animal death
Overview: This series isn't very long, and since I've already read books 1 and 3, I figured I might as well do book 2. Overall, I was thoroughly entertained by this book. Though it wasn't as thematically coherent as book 1, it did have some delicious narrative angst. I also really enjoyed the dynamic between the protagonists, so for those reasons, this book gets 4 stars from me.
Writing: Dare's writing is about what you'd expect of both a Dare novel and a romance. It's quick, easy to understand, and filled with the author's distinct humor. I don't have much to say about it that hasn't already been said in previous reviews; just know that I don't think the prose is bad by any means. I always find Dare rather light hearted and fun.
Plot: The plot of this book follows Clio Whitmore as she tries to convince her fiance's brother to release her from the marriage contract she made 8 years ago. Clio became engaged to Piers Brandon just as his international political career took off; after 8 years of waiting and not seeing him for more than a few days at a time, Clio is ready to call it quits. She appeals to Piers's brother, Rafe, who, as acting Marquess of Granville, has the ability to quietly dissolve the contract and thus spare Clio and Piers any public embarrassment. The trouble is, Rafe has his own reasons for wanting Clio and Piers to marry, and he does everything in his power to make her change her mind.
What I enjoyed most about this plot was the angst and the yearning between Clio and Rafe. We learn early on that Rafe has been in love with Clio for a while, and seeing her become engaged to Piers puts her out of reach. Rafe can't bring himself to betray his brother by seducing Clio himself, and releasing her from the marriage contract would not only be a blow to his brother, but would put Rafe's own future at risk. Watching the characters try to work out their attraction as well as their non-romantic desires was very satisfying, and I think Dare handled the plot with grace.
The only things that weren't satisfactory were a few things that I personally didn't like (the cake fight, for example, felt a little silly) and the ending, which felt rushed. Dare seems to have a tendency to rush her endings in this series, and while I understand a romance novel isn't typically 400+ pages long, I do think some scenes in the middle could have been cut so the scenes leading to the end could have been expanded.
Characters: Clio, our heroine, is generally easy to root for because her desire to live her own life is sympathetic. I really liked how her character arc involves deciding to be an independent woman and earn her own income, as well as deciding that she was not willing to wait around for a man to come and take care of her. I also really appreciated that Clio's flaw - not wanting to hurt Piers and offload the dirty work on Rafe - was explored, and Clio's narrative had her learning to be more assertive.
Rafe, our hero, was also fairly sympathetic in that he had a lot of angst tied up with being the imperfect second son of a powerful family. Rafe constantly feels like he can't measure up to his brother and simultaneously loathes and respects him. This combo made for a more complex emotional portrait, and watching Rafe figure out who he wanted to be was incredibly satisfying.
Clio's siblings were a nice addition, and I very much appreciated that Clio's relationship with them was complex, like Rafe's relationship with Piers. Daphne is a little judgmental and is always putting her sisters down, yet Clio makes very clear that she still loves her. Phoebe, their youngest sister, is perceived as odd because she has some traits associated with autism; I really liked how Clio navigated trying to help Phoebe exist in a world that doesn't understand her while also learning to accept her sister as she is.
Romance: The romance between Clio and Rafe is deliciously angsty. As I mentioned above, the fact that Clio is engaged to Piers means that there really isn't a clear way for the protagonists to get together without hurting someone, and watching them try was narratively very engaging.
I also enjoyed the fact that a big part of their arc as a couple involved respecting each other's unique interests and gifts. Clio wants to start her very own brewery and Rafe is set on reclaiming the championship title in prize fighting; while each tries to convince the other to give up their ambitions, over time, they become more supportive, and I liked that neither of them had to sacrifice their personal interests in order to be worthy of a romantic relationship.
TL;DR: Say Yes to the Marquess is a romance with some forbidden love, but is mostly notable for the way it navigates complex sibling relationships and characters' individual goals. While there are some moments I found a bit silly and the end does rush a bit, this is a fairly strong installment in the Castles Ever After series.

3-6 for the writing ask 🌹
Hello, thanks for the ask :D
3. What’s something you learned about yourself as a writer? That planning can go a long way (I know, shocker). I'm a planster when it comes to writing so it's hard for me to plan. But since starting long-fic projects, I've had to adapt my approach & I'm plotting more thoroughly. Still don't love to do it, but it does help.
4. What piece of media inspired you the most? Aside from Attack on Titan, I would say it would have to be Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood, Pride & Prejudice and Lord of the Rings (I can't pick shfdhf). Even though I discovered these pieces of media years ago, they continue to have a long-lasting influence on my writing and story-telling style.
5. What fandom(s) did you write for this year? The Levi Ackerman fandom lmao. I haven’t delved into any new fandoms this year, but maybe 2024 will be the year?
6. What ship(s) captured your heart? Eruri, but I’ve liked them since 2014 so I don’t know if that counts. If not, JeanPiku was one that took me by surprise (I blame @capricornlevi for showing me the right way) & also Rhaenyra/Alicent from HOTD!

8 shows to get to know me better
thanks for the tag @little-orcs-hurrarrumm !! <33
ABBOTT ELEMENTARY (2021-)
my current fave!! i’ve been seeing it a lot both here and in twitter literally the first months it started airing, but i’ve been busy and all that. binged the whole thing recently, and it deserves a long run! story’s well-written, scenes are very wholesome and fun to watch, and what an amazing ensemble of cast and characters!!
DIRTY LINEN (2023-)
pinoy pride!! tfw when you watch a trailer and you just Know the entire thing’s gonna be good? (and they knew what they were doing with those posters)
i’ve never seen a teleserye i truly love since the killer bride and la vida lena, like, this is the first time i’ve been invested in a filo show so far (there’s just something abt revenge girlboss dramas)
neways, international fans can still watch it thanks to the subtitles in iwanttfc and youtube. but i hope filipinos love and promote it even more.
WHAT WE DO IN THE SHADOWS (2019-)
i thought i would be Normal abt it, now i’m a changed person. a mutual rb’ed a gifset of memo being insane with the “and if one day he doesn’t, well...”, and i was Intrigued so i binged all three seasons in one day.
i have to confess that i finally tuned in because of taika, but i’ve found reasons to stay: nadja, guillermo, matt, harvey, the characters, the silly plot, have i mentioned nadja and guillermo?
YONDERLAND (2013-2016)
ult fave! this show just GETS me!! i wasn’t there when it aired, so i’m not really sure if it’s a hit in the uk or us but i don’t think i would’ve discovered this show if i didn’t watch ghosts. deserved a lot of awards and recognition. just a silly goofy show that i didn’t and wouldn’t want to know what’s happening most of the time, and i love and enjoyed every single bit. society needs more shows like this one but this masterpiece will never be replaced imo
BBC GHOSTS (2019-)
i’m still in denial that this show is ending, but i think it’s their time. i would still definitely watch fillers after fillers as they drag the whole thing, but just like yonderland— that’s not very idiots of them to do so.
nevertheless, it’s a very comforting show! love how they truly understand the characters they write and portray. a found family of a bunch of dead losers, what more could you want!!
THE FLASH (2014-2023)
arguably the first fandom i’ve been kinda active in after my long hiatus from fandoms i think ? (i was more of an observer than a contributor back then)
the first seasons were so good. i miss westallen so much. eobard was so cunty. harrisco were my first attempts in giffing and editing in general. i still love them, but idk if i’m gonna be able to actually finish the show (i stopped after s7)
OUR FLAG MEANS DEATH (2022-)
actually a great show, but no longer one of my faves bc the fandom ruined some things for me sorry. it was fun waiting for ep 7 and 8 to air, but i do wish i was there since the beginning when it was still fun and quiet. neways, i miss the brainrot that possessed me to learn giffing.
GOOD OMENS (2019-)
i was there when this baby was born but didn’t get the chance to be involved until they’re like a toddler. the brainrot was insane when i used up my savings for the funkos, the original books and the script book like !! i miss them so much and i can’t express how excited i am to see them again this summer !!!
tagging @larryrickard @autisticharrywells @spineless-lobster @baynton @bluntbeard @moondogss @fiovske @horuuuuu and anyone who wants to give it a go! <33
#tag game#dakotasvibe#*sinabi niya ‘yan#sorry this took a while#just got out of a brainrot#and a lot of workload

Done playing p2 for today. Apparently "fanny plays p2" was my prior liveblog tab for it during the time I picked it back up in 2017. I think I figured out what happened to get me to put it down lmaooo. I lost ¥300,000 of ¥400,000 in One Battle and was apparently SOOOOO pissed off that I put the game down for... 6 years...
Whelp. It happens, I suppose.
It's probably going to help my general understanding of the game to start over from the beginning. According to my brief continuation, I was just Incredibly confused about everything. Which is fair!!! This is a game with a Lot of intricate little details, so putting it down for any extended period of time will definitely lead to confusion.
So. Some 14 hours in is where I played to back in 2014/2016 ish. And then I reached another 10 hours in, where I was apparently "bombarded with all sorts of plot twists". And then just a bit after That is where I would be reaching Jun.
I can totally get there again. & if I get fed up enough with the battle system, maybe I'll just give up and put it on easy mode :P. Better to swallow my pride and make gameplay less annoying so I can reach more of the story, rather than get fed up with it Again and put it down for years at a time.
I really do want to experience this game in full. I think it's time.
#speculation nation#fanny plays p2#a little hilarious that i got the exact same liveblog tag like that#but i will be honest i have a naming convention for those types of things. makes it easier to find them later lol#but yea. ive been thinking about playing this game again for months and months (and years and years)#turns out impulsively digging out my old game systems looking for my 3ds would do it#I WASNT EVEN PLANNING ON PLAYING P2. i was looking for my 3ds for a fe game#but got to thinking about my old systems and Specifically my old persona games#which are now bullshit expensive apparently but it's ok bc i have my copies still#(for all but Eternal Punishment. shaking my fist @ that $400 price tag 😭😭😭😭)#sorry to my 3gun followers but i was a persona fan First. my liveblog goes here too.#if u rly dont wanna see it then block the tag lol. bc boy do i like talking about my special interests!
