Imo, if Tfone becomes a trilogy, I think the second movie should be about the Great Cybertronian War autobots versus decepticons, and it should be the third movie where the Quintessons come back and the war ends
For meeeeđ„șđ„șđ„ș
#transformers#maccadam#transformers one#Quintessons#would it be ambitious of me to hope for a continuity that coherently shows us the beginning middle and end of the war? yes#am i still gonna wish upon that happening? yes#that was supposed to say cohesively not coherently but I'm rolling with it#look. LOOK. THE QUINTESSONS OFTEN COME BACK#and i feel like it would've been amazing if we had gotten to see that happen in aligned_ considering the connections tfone has to aligned#I'm... not sure whether i want this continuity to deal with earth at all or not#because look at the netflix trilogy which bragged about not having a single human in it_ and people still didn't like it#(i liked the third part of the trilogy but I'm not as sure when it comes to the first too parts)#(BUT_ FUCK_ WE DO NOT CHEW ENOUGH ON THAT ENDING AS A FANDOM)#speculation

â
you couldnât stop thinking about it. how?
how does peter manage to get into your room every night? okay, not every night, but most nights.
most nights, peter magically and mysteriously sneaks his way up into your forbidden bedroom with ease. sometimes, you even wait and watch outside your window to try to get a peak at what heâs doing. but you never see him.
heâs just so slick. how does he do it?
you and peter have been together for over a month now, if youâre counting the day he broke in. the feeling isnât necessarily new in your heart. you feel like youâve known him your whole life. like heâs always just⊠been there.
through this month of stability yet craziness, you havenât gone back to the frat house since the halloween party. you thought that after you guys got together you would stay there more often, but peter doesnât want you to be âattackedâ by the guys. meaning, he doesnât want them to ask a million questions when you guys are supposed to be private. you thought his excuse was dumb, but he was also just being a bit protective.
in reality, peter just didnât know how to get you into the frat house without anyone seeing you. you both had agreed that your relationship was going to be kept private, very private. people could spread rumors and assume you two were together, but you werenât going to show each other off. you guys liked it this way, it made your relationship more special because it was just for you two.
peter had a sixth sense, sticky fingers, and webs. it was pretty easy for him to crawl up into your room especially because you didnât have security cameras (maybe you guys should get some at some point thoughâŠ). you would constantly ask him how he does it since you live on the second floor and it was high up. but peter responds by not responding and instead laughs and kisses you. god, he was too good at distracting you.
but tonight, you were determined to find out.
peter had already texted you earlier and said he wouldnât be able to stop by tonight because of overbearing homework. you completely understood, and sent him a good luck and goodnight to me then message. but truly, you were sneaking out and heading towards the frat.
you put on your sneakers and a hoodie, pulling the strings tightly around your head. the early december weather was no joke in massachusetts, and your thermal leggings were barely helping to keep you warm. as quietly as possible, you leave through the back door, making sure not to alert anyone or anything. not like you have a system to alert though.
you cut through some of the hedges until youâre in the front yard and the frat is staring at you from across the street. taking a deep, chilly breath, you cross the road with your frozen fingers tucked in your pocket.
all the lights in the top rooms were off, except one. youâre not totally sure which one is peterâs, but what other frat guy would stay up until 11 p.m. working on homework?
maybe ned, but he sleeps downstairs.
you walk until youâre under the window, the yellowish light taunting you. there was no latter, vine, rope, or magic hair to get you into the bedroom. the houses were built very similarly, and you know he doesnât bring a latter with him.
so how does he do it?
you take a glance at your surroundings. the biggest difference of your houses was that the guysâ didnât have large garden hedges. they just had a shit ton of messy bushes that they should probably trim once in a while.
having no ideas, you try to jump towards the window. great, thatâs totally going to help you. maybe youâll get some super jump that can spring you up and inside.
you feel stupid. yeah, peter may be the smartest person on campus and going to mit on a full academic scholarship, but how does he sneak into your room? with geometry? you didnât think so.
wait.
what if⊠heâs hiding something from you?
that would explain why heâs so weird about it. letting the impulsive decisions take you over, you throw a rock at his window. hopefully, youâll get his attention and heâll come down, so you can see how he does it. or heâll just go through the front door⊠whatever he does, you need to ask him this question right now. or else youâll never be able to sleep again.
when throwing the rock gets tedious and noisy, you quit. just as youâre about to drop to the ground in annoyance, you hear a distant whipping sound. you hold your breath as if the person whipping will hear you.
fuck. it wasnât a good idea for you to go out at night.
suddenly feeling anxious and scared, you slowly creep towards the sorority house. you donât get too far before you see a body flinging through the air. the whipping noise gets closer and closer to you with every web on the streetlights. what theâŠ
thereâs only one person that could possibly be doing the impossible.
spider-man.
but what was he doing in your little neighborhood? this was one of the safest places in the area, so he didnât need to check up here. there were so many more places in massachusetts that needed saving. feeling beyond curious, your feet scatter to hide you behind one of the untrimmed bushes.
you watch through crowded leaves as spider-man swings through the neighborhood, getting towards you. itâs like he can sense you and heâs coming for you. your heart thumps wildly in your chest, nervous about seeing him. youâve never seen him before, and at least not in person. he was popular on the newspaper and television screens, but never on the street. unless you lived within the city.
with one long and final thwip, spider-man flings himself towards the frat house.
what. theâŠ
you place your hand over your mouth, just in case your breathing is too loud. you intensely watch as the spider crawls up the white wall and towards the only lit window in the whole house.
no. fucking. way.
before you could fully register what you were seeing, you felt the gasp leave your mouth. you slap both of your hands on your face to shut yourself up. you nearly fall back on your heels as spider-man halts his movements. he scans his surroundings before jumping down the wall entirely.
your eyes are wide and your hands of shaking. youâve never felt your heart beat so unbelievably fast, but youâve also never been more afraid. what does he do to people that find out? what is going to happen to your relationship?
the body of blue and red stocks closer to the bushes with careful steps. you try to scoot away, but your back hits the fence. the wood creaks, your actions not quiet enough. his footsteps pick up speed as they rush to the bushes with determination.
spider-man jumps over the plant with grace, hoping to see a wild animal of some sort. but when he sees his girl with the most shocked and terrified expression in the world, he immediately falls to his knees.
ây/n,â he calmly says, slowly inching to you. he doesnât hesitate to comfort you as peter. you donât move, you just listen. âitâs okay. i promise.â
now that he sensed you, peter could hear your heartbeat overbearingly in his ears. he could hear your muffled breaths under your palm, and he just wanted to soothe your fear.
âbaby,â he wanted to cuddle your body until you stopped shaking. you werenât crying, you were just in shock. peter takes a quick glance at his surroundings before yanking off his mask and kneeling, so you could see his face reflecting off the moonlight. âitâs just me.â
âiâŠâ you whispered as your hands fell from your face. peter doesnât hesitate to grab them gently with his gloved ones. ââŠknew it.â
âyou knew i was spider-man?â
âwell⊠for like five seconds,â you flusteredly laugh while trying to recover. you still havenât gotten used to this. well itâs only been a minute. âi knew you were hiding something.â
âwhat are you doing out this late anyway?â he stares straight up at the moon as it shines vehemently over you both.
âuh⊠well,â you start, âi was kind of curious as to how you always snuck into my bedroom without a latter or something, so i went to see? i donât really know what i was looking for.â
peter chuckles. âbut you found your answer, yeah?â
âyeah, i did,â you smile with sweetness as peter helps you up from the grass floor.
â
âitâs different breaking into your room rather than mine,â you say as you sit on the edge of peterâs bed. you watch as he tosses his mask inside of a box labeled books. âso thatâs what was in the box. not dirty magazines.â
âsurprise?â peter laughs and you giggle at his shyness. his cheeks and nose were red from the cold, but also from the slight blush that crossed them. you made him feel all warm and tingly inside, and even a little gooey.
his hand reaches for the button on his chest. it deflates, instantly becoming huge around him.
âwait,â you stop him before he undresses himself. he looks towards you. âcan i just⊠look at you for a moment? in the suit?â
a small smirk creeps up his face. peter clicks the button again and his suit encloses on his body, outlining his muscles perfectly. every ridge and curve of him was being shown off by the spandex. you felt a spark of lust fire inside of you at the sight.
âlike me in my suit, baby?â he teased as he trudged over to you. you stood up from the bed to meet his buff chest. you nodded with a bite of your lip.
he nearly growls before attaching your lips. itâs barely been a day since heâs last kissed you, but thatâs too long for him. his gloved hand grips your jaw to deepen the kiss while your hands explore his messy hair.
the heat between you was undeniable. you were getting worked up over peter in his suit, and thatâs something you never thought was possible. because you didnât think peter being spider-man was possible.
is there a spider-man kink?
you take your shirt off after breaking the kiss, but resume it in no time. as he pushes you onto the bed, you stop him, having a new idea in mind.
âpeter,â you sigh, spandex body hovering over yours.
âyou okay?â
âyeah, yes. i justâŠâ you swallowed, âcan iâŠâ
you didnât really get your question out. you just slithered your body off the bed until your knees were digging into his carpet. peterâs eyebrows shoot up as he stares down at your figure, submissive below him.
âfuck. you want to touch my cock?â peter was already growing hard at the idea of fucking you in his suit. he found it hot that you found his suit hot. everything seemed to be a turn on right now. but now you were on your fucking knees like an angel and damn near begging to touch him?
how could he say no?
âgo ahead then, sweet girl,â peter allows, but you stay still.
âhow do i take it offâ?â
ârightââ
he unzips a zipper that you swear wasnât there before. you barely take him fully out before youâre drooling at the sight. he was big and thick, and you donât think youâd ever get used to looking at and feeling him.
your thumb drags over his weepy tip and he winces at your freezing touch.
âsorry!â you exclaimed with a funky smile. he forcefully laughs while you spit warmth into your hand.
âitâs okay, baby.â
your delicate hand wraps around him as you shift up and down. he sighs into the air, eyes fluttering back. your other hand scratches his thighs lightly. then, you fondle his balls until heâs groaning above you.
âfuck, darling,â he moans as his rough hand rests on your head. with his grip on you, you feel inclined to put your mouth on him. youâre barely an inch away, so what are you waiting for?
your lips pucker as you kiss his veiny shaft. you see from the top of your eyes how his face floods with pleasure, and your ego rises.
âif you look at me like that again, iâm going to explode, baby,â peter husks with his fingers laced in your hair for support.
with a hummed chuckle, you finally place your mouth on him. you suck on his leaky tip as a deep groan elicits from him. his noises always give you a bunch of reassurance, so you hum against him in satisfaction.
âtakinâ me so well,â peter forces himself to stay still and let you do all the work. although, his hips just want to break free and ram into the back of your throat until you lose your voice. for another time⊠âlove when youâre on your knees for me.â
you vibrated a moan against his cock as you took him deeper, a little more than half way. you were never the best at giving head because you couldnât go that far down without gagging atrociously, but after peter showed you a better technique, for breathing and comfort, he thought you were a professional.
âyou like being on your knees for me? or for spider-man?â
a groggy moan rippled around his cock from your filled throat, confirming his suspicions. you were definitely turned of the idea of peter as spider-man, and because of that, he was too. every time you were horny, peter was too.
you released your hands from him and braced them on his thighs. you focused and remembered the small notes heâs given you before. you take a long breath before sinking his cock deep in the back of your mouth. your thumb stabs your palm to eliminate your gag reflex, and it works. your nose nudges the base of his cock and you can see up close how his abs contract tightly.
âfuck! doing so good for me. going to make me come, sweet girl.â
hearing this, you bob and twist your head with a goal. your tongue swirls exploring around each ridge like itâs never tasted the plain before. peter was delicious; he was sweet with a pinch of saltiness that made you a fan of giving head. you would get on your knees any day for him.
his cock twitches in your mouth, warning you that heâs coming. you feel his hips buck into you as he strongly yanks your hair. you groan as he lets himself go.
âwhere do you want it? on your face? chest? or are you going to swallow it like a good girl?â
even when his dick twitches again, you donât make an effort to move. you lick the underside of him, which sends peter over the edge.
a string of hushed groans fall from his pink lips as his muscles clench. ropes of his orgasm spurts down your throat, and you swallow every drop like a champ. well, almost all. parts of his come drip from the corner of your lip as he slowly pulls out of you.
the second he exits you, your jaw is instantly sore and achy, but it was worth it. to see the flustered and breathless peter above you was worthless everytime. peter was nearly disoriented by how fucking incredible your mouth was. how you were.
he tucks himself back into his suit as you remain on the floor. he leans down and helps you up, your knees popping in the process.
âhow was it this time?â you croaked, voice cracking horrendously. peter tries not to laugh as he wipes away the nearly dried sperm on your face. you open your mouth without a thought, and he sticks his thumb in your mouth for you to lick it clean.
âit was good. fucking amazing. impeccable. exceeded expectations. outstanding performanceââ
âokay, okay i get it. youâre a nerd!â you brokenedly laugh as you shove his chest. you got a sudden wave of chills because you were starting to get a bit cold. your body was still running hot because you were still, well, turned on.
ânerds are awesome, okay? they know everything.â
âlike what? impress me,â you challenge as you throw your leg on top of his lap and get yourself seated. he smirks, feeling his cock chuff up a bit already. you were beyond soaked in your panties, and you just couldnât wait for peter to destroy you.
peter knows you didnât actually want him to say anything nerdy, so he made it a bit sexual. as always.
âthey know how to⊠kiss.â
âyouâre probably the one nerd that knows how to kiss.â
âokay, fine. i know how to kiss,â his hand cups your face as it leans closer towards his. he places a soft, longing kiss on your swollen lips before pulling away way too fast for your liking. âi know how to touch you, i know how to rile you up. right? iâm doing it right now. and youâre probably soaking.â
a warmth wave floods through your body at his words.
âi know how to talk to you too. bet these dirty words are going straight to your little clit, huh?â
âpeter,â you whimper. he was right. he was beyond right.
his hand trails down your bare stomach and hovers over your clothed cunt. he can feel the heavy heat radiating from you through your leggings, begging for more.
âi can feel you. i can smell you, too. a perk of being spider-man,â he smiles, âguess this nerd is pretty great.â
âpeter!â you shook his shoulders in desperation, but he didnât move. you had a love hate relationship with his teasing. he indeed got you riled up, to the max, until you were begging him to touch you. he just dragged it on and on and on. he loved hearing you beg for it.
âokay, okay, sweet girl,â peter chuckled as his fingers fumbled down the waistline of your leggings. they were thick, so you helped him get them down. âjust want to hear you say how awesome nerds are first. how do you think i made these webs?â
âyouâre the hottest, super-nerd iâve ever met in my life. now can you please fuck me?â you begged as your cunt ached.
âaw thanks, baby,â all he did was laugh at your misery with a smirk. âall you had to do was say please.â
â

So, It Wasn't Planned After All
https://x.com/RichEisenShow/status/1734703529552699725?s=20
While Adam Driver is making the rounds to promote "Ferrari," he drops by the Rich Eisen Show and when asked about Ben Solo during the True or False segment, Adam spills the tea.
He doesn't get asked much about Star Wars so this is the first time I think he's talked about his character arc since TROS was unleashed upon us 4 years ago. And he drops the bomb that the Ben Solo thing wasn't planned from the beginning. That's right, Bendemption happened late in the game. He says that JJ Abrams told him the idea was Vader In Reverse (starts out vulnerable, ends entrenched in the dark side) and he kept that concept in mind throughout the time he filmed the ST, until they changed it with the last film. Adam has alluded to the concept of Vader In Reverse before but this is the first time he's gone into greater detail about it, including the revelation that the decision to turn Kylo from the dark side came during the third film.
This shouldn't be surprising to anyone who read the Duel of the Fates script and it explains why Ben hardly says a word during his scenes on Exegol. Abrams and Co. conceived of Kylo Ren as an evil bastard whose destiny was to get eviller; killing Han Solo was meant to be what sent him down the path of no return. Then two things happened: TLJ and Driver's commitment to humanizing Kylo Ren. People loved Kylo and Rey together (hence Reylo exploding in popularity) and they fell in love with Adam. They empathized with Kylo. So they changed course with TROS, a little. Kylo returns to the light as Ben but he is quickly dispatched once the big battle is over. I believe Ben's death was for two reasons: one, they were less invested and focused in Ben's part of the story than we were and two, there was always the intent to end the Skywalker line so Star Wars could focus on new characters. Remember, Rey essentially turned Skywalker into a title that could be transferred to anyone.
That the story changed over the course of the trilogy isn't that big a deal. There was no Chosen One prophecy until the prequels. Leia wasn't Luke's sister until Lucas wrote ROTJ. Han wasn't guaranteed to get out of carbonite because nobody was sure if Harrison Ford was going to come back. Instead of a tyrannical, ruthless bastard like Lee Pace's emperor in Apple TV's Foundation show, Kylo Ren gave us quivering lips, teary eyes, and mooning over the heroine who is supposed to be his enemy. When Rian Johnson introduced the bond between Rey and Kylo, Abrams and Terrio explained it as a dyad and made it prominent in the film. The kiss got put in because Reylo was so popular. Okay, fine.
The problem was they never should have made the Jedi Killer from early drafts Han and Leia's only child. As an old Star Wars fan who saw every film since 1977 and followed the Skywalker clan for over 40 years, I didn't want to see Anakin Skywalker's grandson end up even more evil than he was. What a huge bummer that would've been, even worse than if Rey was killed off. (For the record, I hated the whole Darth Jacen thing so much in the legends books I stopped reading them.) Abrams and Terrio probably realized it was going to be a problem returning to the idea that Ben was too evil to save; TROS already comes off as a tragic ending rather than a happy, triumphant one. And it goes against the whole message of Star Wars. So it ends up being Vader 2.0 and fans hoping Ben would survive were disappointed. I wasn't fond of the idea of exile or something as Ben's fate prior to TROS, but now I think that probably would've been the best outcome. It would've left a lot of possibilities to explore in future SW stories without having to come up with a convoluted explanation for bringing him back.
As much as they fumbled the ball, I'm glad they at least spared us Evil Kylo 4 Ever and Adam's turn as Ben was great even without anything to say besides "Ow." Adam sounded a little disappointed to me but maybe I'm just reading into it too much. In any case he has also stated in recent interviews he would be open to returning to Star Wars, so I guess we can still be hopeful even if he doesn't appear in the upcoming film. (Just don't wait 30 years, okay?)

before sunrise
pairing: Leon Kennedy x reader
synopsis: he's alive and recovering. the sun is rising, it's time to start a new day and, possibly, a new chapter in your life.
warnings: mentions of injuries, being at hospital, deaths, and traumas. starts with angst, but has a happy ending like our boy deserves. fluff, leon being vulnerable and sensitive and the reader comforting him, references to id!leon and vendetta!leon. no use of y/n, second person (you)
author's note: the third and final part of before trilogy. this part took more time to write because i wanted a good ending. there's some quotes from infinite darkness and vendetta bc why not? i rly enjoyed writing this trilogy, and i'm sad that it ended. i hope you guys enjoyed it as much as i did writing this!
word count: 4243k (approximately, i've lost count)
before: part one | part two
There was a soft breeze coming through the window, announcing the sunrise.
Although it was a cold day, the sun was shining in the blue sky outside. For some reason, you always enjoyed this type of weather. It wasn't cold enough, but it wasn't warm, too. It was perfect, even though you had to be satisfied with the view.
The walls were white, and you were starting to hate that color. Everything, absolute everything, was white. You sighed again, feeling the pain in your lower lip due to the cut you had. At least, it was something real, and you could feel it, and deep down, you were glad to feel something instead of cold, tiredness, and hunger. Even though you were safe, you hated to wait. And you hated even being at the hospital, especially when you couldn't do anything to change that.
But, just for some release of conscience, you weren't the one that was in there. Of course, the circumstances were terrible, but at least he was safe. Your mission was a complete success, but you were so worried. Nothing could make you feel better, and you were starting to despise that feeling.
Sure, patience wasn't your best virtue, and despite everything you did, all that was left was to watch Leon while he slept, completely medicated and out of danger.
You managed to call for help, and you couldn't stop remembering the fact that he almost died due to high fever. When you found him inside that house, he wasn't breathing anymore, and things happened so quickly that you couldn't even process everything yet. In one minute, he was presumed dead, and in the next one, he was inside the helicopter and being medicated, being resurrected by someone way more qualified than you. You had your share of cuts, contusions, and wounds, but still, he was your priority, and you wouldn't allow yourself to rest until you had sure Leon was safe.
And you brought him home safe.
Now, you were in the hospital and waiting for him to wake up. You glanced at your arm with the clean bandage and then at your hands. You were shaking, and you couldn't tell why, or you were just lying to yourself again like you always did when you were under stress.
"Hey, you" you hear Leon say, his voice weaker and husky, but still your Leon. Your eyes meet with his and suddenly, there's only peace. "Where are we?"
"We're safe" you said to him, your voice full of concern. You were trying so hard to make things easier, even though he was indeed safe.
"What happened?" he asks again, closing his eyes due to his tiredness, his voice low and more husky.
"I contacted Hunnigan, and she sent the rescue team. The medical team brought you here a few days ago" you explained to him, careful enough to not let him worry.
"I was sleeping for days? I guess I needed to rest" he chuckled, and his comment made you smile, your body starting to relax. Yes, it was your Leon.
"You always look like you need to rest" you teased him, a slight smile appearing on your lips as you feel more relaxed around him. "I'm glad you survived. You scared the living shit out of me... again"
"Are we doing scores now?" Leon teased you, the same sentence you used when you were helping him years ago during the outbreak in Raccoon City.
"How do you even remember that?" you ask him, laughing out loud, completely caught off guard by his question.
"I have a good memory, and besides, I couldn't forget the night you saved my life... twice" he said, smiling, and he looked very lovingly saying that way. Your heart melted inside your chest. "I owe you three times"
"Well, you made a promise to Marvin that day. I can't let you die, right?" you smiled back, feeling your cheeks turning red. After all these years, Leon still had that effect on you. "Even after we turned special agents, I'm afraid you'll stick with me till the day I die... and I'm pretty sure you'll still haunt me in the afterlife"
"Well, I'm glad you know that. I can't just lose the love of my life like that" Leon said, now opening his eyes and looking directly at you. "I'm sorry I scared you... I know you wouldn't let me die in peace"
"You're an asshole, Kennedy" You called him by his surname, but you laughed after you finished the sentence. "By the way, how are you feeling?"
"I'm in pain. Thank you for remembering it. Now I can complain about your terrible stitch skills" he tried to laugh, but his expression changed quickly, and he groaned in pain.
But you just laughed at him. Besides the laughs and the terrible jokes, he was still your Leon. The same man you had fallen in love with, and the same man you had the luck to share your home with. And, at the end of the day, he would be there. Home.
Life was weird sometimes.
You knew one day he wouldn't come home. One day, he could die during one assignment and leave you on your own. And the thought of that made your body shiver because you weren't prepared to lose him. The same thought was running through his mind. Although Leon had difficulty sharing his feelings, you could see and feel everything through his eyes. Words were unnecessary at that point. You knew him, and he knows you. That's all that matters.
"You look so beautiful when you're thinking about something else" Leon said, whispering, his voice soft as he looked at you, his blue eyes shining.
"When I'm distracted?" you ask him, smiling. True, he always loved to watch you doing absolutely everything.
"Yeah, especially when you're distracted. I love you, do you know that?" he asks you, a slight smile appearing on his lips as he declares himself to you.
"I love you too" you smiled again, your heart full of joy at the moment. He always expressed himself through actions instead of words, so hearing him say that, well, it completely melted your heart.
But suddenly, you caught yourself thinking about everything, starting with Raccoon City and ending with your last assignment, the one that almost ended Leon's life. You felt fear, although you usually didn't have time to feel scared like that. He was safe, right? Then why couldn't you feel the same? Your mind was tricking you to think otherwise, and you were starting to hate this.
"Hey, I'm fine" Leon said to you like he could read your mind and like he knew what was going on with you. "I'm not gonna die, trust me"
"I'm scared, and I don't know why" you replied, looking straight at his blue eyes, seeking comfort. "All that happened... Jesus, I can't let go, you know? I can't stop seeing Raccoon City all over again... you almost died in there and almost died again in our last assignment... and I just don't know if I can do this anymore. I can't lose you"
"I'm not going anywhere without you, babe. I promise you" his voice is full of comfort and kindness, as he talks very smoothly and caring. Sometimes, you just forget how lovely he can be. "I'm here, aren't I? I'll never leave you because if I do, then who's gonna haunt you in the afterlife?"
And with that, he made you smile. Even in pain and tired to the bones, he still tries his best to comfort you. You kiss his forehead gently as he sighs to your touch. He loved being kissed and spoiled by you, even though he wouldn't admit that to anyone, not even you.
"Get some rest, I'll go see if I can find any snacks to eat" you said to him before leaving his room.
He then sighed again, feeling much more tired than before. At least, he wasn't lost and alone in the middle of nowhere, and even though he also hated being in the hospital, Leon was feeling much happier having you around him. He glanced outside the window and started to thank every possible God out there to let them know he was glad to be alive again. The sun was rising, and he had a new opportunity to make things right.
Slowly, he started to close his eyes, embracing the darkness and diving into a dream.
He was again in Raccoon City. Leon could feel the cold rain touching his skin. He could see the nightmare that place was. Worse, he could see the tyrant that was hunting you both that day. His heart started to race inside his chest. He was scared to be in there again, being obligated to see his worst nightmare again and feel that all over again.
But, this time, something changed.
He saw you running from the same tyrant, and this time, he wasn't able to help you. Leon had to watch you die. He screamed and cried, he tried to get rid of whatever was holding him against the floor until the dream started to repeat and he realized he had to watch you die over and over again, unable to save you.
"NO, PLEASE! STOP!" he screamed, waking up. His breath was heavier. He was shaking and sweating. When he realized it wasn't real, he started to look around desperate, trying to find you.
"Leon? What happened?" you ask him, entering his room. He was still breathing heavily and shaking.
"It's... it's nothing. I'm fine" he lied, but he knew you already had figured out what happened to him. He was a terrible liar. "Don't look at me like that"
"Did you have a nightmare?" you ask him, sitting on the edge of his bed, your hands caressing his leg above the blanket that covers him.
But he didn't give you an answer. Instead, he remained silent, trying to calm himself down. His hands were shaking, and for some reason, words were unnecessary. You just knew what he needed. So, without telling him anything or asking him for permission, you just embraced him with your open arms, as if you could protect him from everything in the world.
And, with that warm embrace, Leon started to cry.
It was unusual for him to be so vulnerable like that, but truth be told, he was so tired. Every night, he had the same nightmare, but he always thought he could deal with that. Until he saw you dying, and there was nothing he could do to keep you safe. He had to watch you die. He had to hear you scream and hear you blame him for everything bad that has ever happened. And this time, he couldn't take it. He was scared, truly scared.
"It's okay, it wasn't real, and you're safe" you whisper to him, your voice soft and caring enough to calm him down.
"I saw you" he sobs, covering his face on your chest so you can't see him cry. "I saw you die... and there was nothing I could do to save you"
You said nothing. Instead, your hands were running through his hair. You knew he always had a soft spot for that, and he always loved being touched by you. He was indeed touch starved, but he always worshiped you for touching him so softly, so kindly. Slowly, he started to calm down, although you could hear him sobbing.
"It wasn't real, Leon" you assured him, your voice calm and yet caring. He needed that. He needed to remain that he did all he could, and it wasn't his fault. "Nothing bad will ever happen to you again"
But he kept sobbing, his voice muffled by his face covered on your chest. And he cried and sobbed like that until he fell asleep again, tears falling through his face. You gently covered him with the blanket, and then you gave him another kiss on his forehead before you left his room again. You were tired as well. You missed your home, and you wanted so desperately to run away from the hospital. Your thoughts were interrupted by someone calling you, and when you saw 'Redfield' on the screen, you just sighed.
"Hey, you" Chris said when you picked up the phone.
"Hey, Redfield. What's up?" you ask him, walking around the entrance to the hospital, where you could hear the sound of the traffic and the city.
"How is he?" Chris's voice seems to be concerned, and you know he is worried about Leon. You glanced to the sky before thinking about everything that happened.
"He's fine... Leon woke up today, and to be fair, he's really tired" you tell Chris, still remembering everything that happened during your escape. Just the thought of Leon being so hurt like that made your stomach twist. "But I guess he'll be here for a couple of days"
"Yeah, I thought so" he said, and you could imagine him shaking his head, and you smiled. "Can you tell him I called?"
"Yeah, sure... I'll let him know," you said, nodding your head, although Chris wasn't there to see you. "How're you doing?"
"The same as always. I'm investigating a guy named Glenn Arias, and hopefully, I'll find him soon" Chris said, now sounding very excited. It was a surprise he had time to check on Leon. Sometimes, he was very busy at the BSAA. "But I need to get going, I just wanted to hear from you. Take care of yourself"
"Yeah, you too, asshole" you smirk slightly when you call him an asshole. Then, you heard him laugh as well before he ended the call. Your hands were shaking again, and you were starting to feel the consequences of what happened.
You weren't weak, but this time, you were feeling something different inside you.
Sure, seeing the love of your life almost die in front of your eyes while there was nothing you could do to stop that... You were tired and overwhelmed by something you had never felt before, and you hated it. You looked up again, observing the sky, trying to calm yourself and noticing the shapes of the clouds and the colors combined. It was beautiful.
You took a deep breath and then returned to his room. He was sleeping peacefully, although you could see his swollen eyes, the result of so many tears being released by his sudden breakdown. It was so unusual to see Leon vulnerable, but you knew that he was tired of saving everyone and having no one to save him or take care of him when he needed it. And you understood that you were the one to do that. You were his home and his safe place, the one he needed to assure him everything was fine.
Sometimes, he just needed you.
Saving the world was a tough job and took everything from him, except for you. Sometimes, he needed to feel your touch, feel your presence, and hear you tell him everything was fine the way they were. He wasn't the scared boy you met at Raccoon City. He was so different, and yet, he remained the same. His essence hasn't changed. Time couldn't break him, although it was rough.
He had to endure all over these years, but still, he was the same, Leon. His eyes only shine when you're around, and he can be very lovely and kind only with you, although he had a lot of trust issues you had to overcome with patience and love. Leon was your everything, and by now, you were seeing how close you were to losing him. And this memory was killing you inside, melting you like acid, poisoning your mind, and making you feel guilty.
"A penny for your thoughts" you hear his voice, even though he sounds husky for a moment. His eyes were swollen, but they were shining so beautifully.
"I thought you were sleeping" you smirk, sitting again on the edge of his bed, crossing your arms. "Chris called, just for you to know"
"He did?" Leon raised an eyebrow as he watched you nod your head. "Thanks, I'll talk to him when I leave"
"You should be sleeping" you said to him, sitting on the edge of his bed, making yourself comfortable.
"I can't sleep. I hate being in here, and I don't want to close my eyes..." he sighed heavily, avoiding looking at you. You knew what it was.
"It's okay to be afraid, you know?" you smiled gently, reaching for his hand. Your fingers tangled with his, as he slowly started to put his attention on you again. "We went through a lot, and we still have each other. This has to mean something, Leon"
"Do you think this will pass?" he asks you, and for a moment, you saw that he was truly scared. This was unusual, too, but you had to be there for him. He needed you.
"Yeah, I do. I have nightmares too, sometimes I'm afraid to sleep, I don't want them to scare me" you said to him, your voice full of empathy and kindness, as the comfort words were everything he needed at the moment. Leon seemed to be surprised, but he remained silent. "Sometimes I wake up in the middle of the night and look for you, to make sure you're here with me and safe... I know they twist your mind and make you feel worse, but they aren't real, and they can't hurt you. This is what I tell myself every night"
Leon nods his head as he silently asks for a hug. Your arms were around him in a warm hug, like you can protect him from everything else in the world. You both watched the sunrise outside. It was such a beautiful morning like it was telling you to start again. Like you both had a new chance to start a new chapter in your life.
"When you leave the hospital, we can start again, you know?" you ask him, your eyes still looking outside.
"What do you mean by that?" Leon glances at you, his eyes shining even more. They were like sapphires, and they had their glow. Such a beautiful pair.
"I won't risk losing you. I'm considering retirement... I've had my share of danger. And I'm done with it" you explained to him very calmly, but you were sure about your decision. The government could find someone else.
"Are you sure about that?" Leon asks you again, as he considers your words. You nodded again to him, and for some reason, you knew what he was thinking. "Maybe we can buy that house we've always wanted... travel the world like tourists and... grow old together"
"You don't have to retire just because I want to. I know you love your job and the adrenaline that comes with it... but I can't do this anymore" you tell him, trying to convince him to don't do anything he might regret later.
"Sweetheart, I know one day I won't be able to wake up again and see a sunrise like this. This time, I only escaped because you were there with me... but who knows what will happen next?" Leon said, his voice full of determination and certainty. He squeezed your hand to let you know he was convinced. "And if you won't be there with me, then I don't want to go alone"
You knew you couldn't change his mind. He was the type of person who once decided something, he wasn't going back. On the other hand, it was a tremendous surprise to see he was willing to retire just for you. He wanted so badly to have peace and a happy ending that he would do that.
"When I was a kid, I used to think about what kind of man I'd grow up to be. I never thought my life would turn out this way" Leon sighed heavily, avoiding looking at you while he was rethinking his entire life. It wasn't a secret to you that he was an orphan, that his parents were killed, and he was left alone, saved by a cop, which led him to become one of them. You just knew. "I keep fighting... and fighting and fighting. Instead of seeing an end to this shit, it just keeps getting worse. Is this what my life is supposed to be? Fighting the living dead and the bastards that make them? What's the point of it all? It feels like I'm stuck in a goddamn loop... how much longer can we keep going on like this?"
And there he was.
The broken man you loved and tried to heal over and over, the man you saved a thousand times. The same man that carried this trauma since the day you met, the same pain in those beautiful sapphire eyes. He was done. And you both knew that. He reaches for your hand, a desperate way to seek comfort, to know you both share the same thoughts and feelings. He needed to hear that. He needed to be sure you were on the same page.
"You never seemed so angry about something before..." you smirk, seeing his face relax for a moment. He hated talking about Raccoon City.
"I'm angry because the government wiped the city off the map and covered it all up, I'm angry because there were people alive in there. There were families alive in there. And they didn't even try to get them out. They also said it was a tough call" Leon sighed again, he never spoke like that before, it was like he was hiding it inside him, waiting for the perfect opportunity to let it all out. He needed to get out of that off his chest. "So, tough call my ass! You can not save a country if you don't give a damn about the people in it"
Then he sighed again. He was keeping it inside his chest for so long that he felt great to speak his mind without being concerned about the consequences. It felt so good to finally be able to say whatever he wanted because he knew you wouldn't complain or say otherwise to him.
"So, yeah, that's why I want to retire as well. I'm so done with this that I don't want to spend the rest of my life chasing freaks and preventing the end of the world. They can find someone as good as me" he finally looks at you, seeking some kind of approval, although he didn't need one.
For some reason, you didn't have an answer. Everything he needed at the moment was told through your eyes because you both shared a connection that sometimes, words were unnecessary. Leon felt relaxed when he noticed the way you were looking at him because you didn't have to say a word.
"I just don't want an end that means a coffin or wasting time with things that I don't like. I want to end my life living peaceful days without being scared and traumatized... I want to be happy" Leon finished his vent with a sigh of pure relief. He leaned back his head against the pillow, feeling a bit exhausted.
"Then I promise you, sweetie, we'll have the happy ending we both deserve." you smiled gently at him, finding the proper words to express yourself and to make sure he felt embraced. He just smiled at you, his eyes shining again. "You know, we create such unnecessary pain for ourselves"
"What do you mean by that?" Leon raises an eyebrow, his face slowly confused. He was so adorable when he was like that.
"Remember when we first met? You asked me about my perception of what happened in there, and I told you I was elaborating... I think now I have the answer" you said to him, smiling again. It was weird to think about that after so many years, but finally, it would have some conclusions.
"Yes, and what's your answer?"
"We think we're a failure because no one loves us. It's like we only exist if there's someone who sees us. Our life only has worth if we're living for someone else" you explained to him, your eyes looking outside the window, as you think about everything and everyone. "That restlessness we feel? It's our souls crying out to be set free from all the deceit we've been forced to believe"
"Your perception of the world always amuses me. I wish I could see things the way you see them" his voice is kind. He always loved to hear you, to listen to your voice as it helped him calm down during his dark days. You were light to his darkness.
Your face slightly turns red. It was weird. You always love to tease him and make him blush, but when he does the same to you, oh, dear God... you can't even react. He's the only one that has the power to make you speechless, the one that makes you blush harder and the same that makes your heart beat faster inside your chest. This man was Leon Scott Kennedy, and he would always have your heart.
"I love you" he said to you before starting to close his eyes.
"I know"

Heey, I've finished Memnoch, and I'm evidently among those crazy people who enjoy it a lot. Although it would land differently if I didn't read ahead. The further I go, the more this wet cat of a man entices me. PL Lestat did something to my brain, I will probably love all the mad shenanigans now. + The ending made a lot of sense after TVA and Blood and Gold. I kiiind of regret I've skipped this part at first, though, because now I'm curious what the ending would do to me without spoilers đ€Ł
So, a question. How did Armand's religious frenzy look for you when other novels haven't come out yet? I'm not sure I would have understood it the same way only with his TVL chapter. And what did you think in general with the context of what Anne was saying at the time? It kinda did feel like she didn't want to write about them anymore and wanted to explore something else. So I get why people would be confused.
By now I enjoy it a lot as well!! It grew on me on second reread, which is not that far back actually, and was followed by a pause and then a third. There is a lot in there and a lot that makes one think, and a lot... crazy stuff *laughs*
So this was, by statement, supposed to be the last book. Then. She did not want to write them anymore, indeed.
Which, you might imagine, was devastating, with that ending.
Armand gone up in flames, others, too. Lestat mad, jaded and slinking into obscurity.
I didn't touch the books for the longest time.
I'm not sure I can answer your question wrt to Armand and his religious frenzy. It's... been a while (maybe others want to add on with their experiences here?!) - I just remember that reading it all... was devastating.
Louis, crying and begging at the locked doors. The absolute despair in it all, in the grief of losing Armand.
Lestat saying: "Adieu, mon amour." the last thing in the book.
The whole book screams for some answers. Answers that are still denied in the end. Was it the Devil? Was it God? Was it purgatory? Did Armand sacrifice himself there for anything that is true? Or was it just a futile gesture, which brought only pain, no relief... I can understand the utter shock to the system actual proof had to produce in Armand - him, a child of the Children of Satan, being confronted with the actual proof within this universe.
It must have been devastating as well, emotionally, and for his soul.
So much of what he believed he had left behind and overcome... crushing him now.
Now, TVA followed. Merrick. Blood and Gold. Pandora. Blackwood Farm. Blood Canticle. I picked them up at some point, somewhat disbelievingly.
I did not really enjoy them the first time, after Memnoch the wound was still open, the yearning to get back to Lestat for some kind of resolution for him and Louis quite strong. The blow had been intense, and Merrick promised... and then the other books did not deliver. And Blood Canticle felt absolutely OOC, though I find it has its place now in his arc. Now.
Because back then I could not have dreamed that Anne would finish the arcs. Or some at least. Would pick up the threads for Louis, Lestat and even Claudia once more, reshape them. I had not dreamed that the last trilogy would give them resolution.
Would close so many wounds.
I'm older now. I understand a lot more about trauma, and pain, and loss, and how these things shape us.
I read these books now quite differently. Their voices sound differently in my mind. I know why Anne had to let Louis go, and why she struggled so hard. I can feel the pain of loss and the wish to find a higher purpose in the tale.
So yeah^^. Reading it back then without the other books... was indeed something^^. But I do enjoy rereading it now too. :)

Based of OG Ace Attorney cover, here's Leorio Paradinight crossover!
It was part of the HxH Game crossover event I 've decided to take part in.
If you want to learn more about this au, please click read more
About this au, some things are changed some stayed the same but just so you know, characters are kind of based on:
^Phoenix Wright - Leorio, aspiring defense lawyer, he wants to protect those whom people are averting their eyes from. He more or less willingly gets mentored by the stupidly smart brat Killlua who seems to know any law term and norm. They banter a lot but actually become decent friends.
^Maya Fey - Gon, a spiritualist of a world-renowed family Freecss with traditions. The rumors say they can contact the true spirit and connect with the netherworld. Has been saved by Leorio and Killua both, joins hands with them afterwards
^Edgewotrth - Kurapika, got mentored by the Zoldycks on how to become top prosecutor. He's utmost driven to not let any true criminal go unpunished. Gathers renown until the day he'll be able to catch Phantom Troupe and bring justice to the fallen, has a companionship with Killua bordering on sibiling bond
^Mia Fey and Franziska mix up - Killua, he has a pivotal role in leading Leorio's carier and actually becomes his mentor after triyng to cut off his ties to his inheritance as the Zoldyck heir, a true tycoon of the prosecution world. During trials if he decides to participate he takes on a role of a consultant.
As you can see, though Leorio is the titular attorney, Killua is the glue connecting everyone in here. But that just leaves all the more unresolved conflict because he hides the truth of his heritage. He found Leorio by chance and he got impressed by him after a second third take with the attitude he has, how it's not about money but bringing the truth to the table, pretty much opposite of the Zoldycks. I'm not good at writing but I'll try to say few things about their cases? It's more or less basing of "The Trilogy"but with the spin of HxH characters being themselves, it sure would reflect in the plot,
-A case about mysterious animal being spotted, the legendary Chimera Ant! Gon is a huge deal on this case because his spiritualist power call back to the wilderness and all the instinct one gets from it.A lot of logic/belief topic going on here and killugon spotlight
-A case of murder on the "Hunter X" movie plan, it's related to Gon because he was there to meet the main hero, Kite, his godfather. He gets roped into the investigation and is considered suspect for some time before
-Another case in which Gon is the main suspect. Since he's from family of spiritualists, vibing with the nature and otherworld. So when there's a case against him Killua is determined to find his innocence. Even if it means going against Kurapika. That's also the case that showcased Leorio and Kurapika's banter and whatnot so major old marriage leopika vibe
-There's a huge final case in which member of the PT's is murdered and who would have guessed, Kurapika is found bloodied on the crime scene. This is a very turnaround case because the one responsible for prosecuting it, is no one else but Killua after he disappeared (made a tactical retreat) from Leorio's side. Perhaps family pressure? Illumi blackmailing him? Being ashamed of 'tricking' Gon and Leorio and leaving Kurapika to deal with everything alone? All of the above, because now he stands against everyone he grew to be fond of. Eventually, the true killer gets found giving a chance to mend strained bonds, by joining hands in catching the real culprit all along that was hiding among the witnesses. The fake group member [wink] -Ps, Netero's just playing along for the trial's sake even if he's got the truth like way earlier, he's not naive, but likes seeing 'entertaining trial' as long as it's goes the right way eventually
-Leopika & killugon featured, all aged up, imagine lots and lots of banter and sexual tension in the court
That's it, thank you for reading my thoughts <3

My Legendborn Cycle Musings & Theories
May 2023 is when I first got into this series and I've been hooked ever since. I've read Legendborn and Bloodmarked at least twice and I have some thoughts about the books and series in general. So without further ado:
Spoilers ahead!
First of all, I'm glad I waited to make this post because recently more information has been revealed about the next upcoming book (Oathbound), and that instead of the series being a trilogy of books it'll be a tetralogy (4 part book series).
Oathbound
I strongly believe that the Shadow Court is definitely going to be unleashed that was part of the bargain Bree made with the Shadow King after all.
Veraâs warning to Bree at the end of Bloodmarked: âChaos thrives on imbalance.â In Oathbound, is Bree going to become villainous or corrupted in some form? Since she doesnât have her ancestors to balance or influence her since she closed the ancestral stream?
Since the third book is called Oathbound I wonder if this means oaths will be broken or removed. Obviously, Natasia's Kingsmage Oath to Martin Davis had to have been removed. Could the same thing happen possibly between Nick and Sel?
At the end of Bloodmarked, the main trio: Bree, Nick, and Sel have become separated. Since this is Bree's story first and foremost I think the book will still only be from Briana's point of view. I don't think we'll be getting multiple points of view. However, I'm not quite sure.
Selwyn Emrys Kane
Thereâs more to Selwyn Kane than meets the eye. One of the main themes in the Legendborn Cycle is ancestry and inheritance.
Theory 1: Erebus (the Shadow King) is Selwynâs father. Erebus is described as a father-like figure towards Sel and he has a history and a clear fondness for Natasia (He knew where she was at the end of Bloodmarked). However, we know that the Order supposedly monitored Natasia closely while they ensured she gave birth to an heir. Obviously, since both her and Sel are powerful Merlins there must be more to discover about their bloodline. Also, it is mentioned how closely Sel resembles Merlin his ancestor not only in appearance but also in mannerisms. Sel is a prodigy and has the rare ability to transform into an Owl like his ancestor Merlin. Not to mention, the skill he used to craft aether constructs to hold Bree together after her injury which isnât easy to do and most likely wouldâve killed other Merlins attempting to do it.
Theory 2: Maybe Selwynâs bloodline has ancestral ties to someone on the Shadow Court.Â
Nicholas Martin Davis
He's going to be leading the faction of the Order that's still loyal to the Knights of the Round Table.
Maybe he'll continue to forge a further alliance with the Line of Morgaine. Nick will then be further exposed to how they live and maneuver outside of the Order. He is trying to find a solution to stop the Legendborn Cycle without the Scion of Arthur having to die. In Bloodmarked, he found something out but he didn't get to elaborate on it further.
In General
I think the relationship between Sel and William is underrated.
Thereâs still much we donât know about Cambions and unions. So far, we know:
Full Demon + Human = Cambion
Human + Cambion = Cambion
But what about: Full Demon + Cambion = ?
Cambion + Cambion = Â ?
Are these unions even possible or allowed and could they produce offspring?
On the cover of Bloodmarked, I think Bree is wearing the outfit that she wore during the Rite of Kings ceremony.
Valechaz is clearly enamored and fascinated with Bree and he's such a wildcard. Valec at times can also be hard to read. Will he be a friend or foe going forward?
This may be an unpopular opinion, but in terms of a TV series adaptation of the Legendborn Cycle, I would prefer that it be an animated TV series rather than a live-action series.

TRCC Readathon - Day Five
This is my normal reading sprint day, so I was able to catch up to what I missed yesterday and continue through today. A long reading day complete with two much needed naps.
A small note because as I was typing the book updates below, I realized some things may be confusing. I schedule all my reading - down to what page I need to finish at each day. When it comes to my re-reads, these are set in place and I cannot allow myself to read ahead of planned. The first-time reads aren't as strict.
Great Expectations by Charles Dickens - 107 pages, finished and rated 4.5/5. I loved this book a whole lot! I will definitely be rereading. I loved so many characters and I was tearing up near the end.
This is How We Change the Ending by Vikki Wakefield - 181 pages, finished and rated 4/5. This book became hard to put down near the end, I was anxious for the characters and needed to know if they'd be okay.
Sea of Tranquility by Emily St. John Mandel - 44 pages, first time reading. I've been reading this in little parts each Saturday, it's part of a book club I'm in. Not a book I would normally have picked up but I am liking it so far.
A Note of Madness by Tabitha Suzuma - 108 pages, second time reading. I read this last year and adored it (and the sequel) and I'm loving it again this time.
None Shall Sleep by Laura Giebfried - 156 pages, I'm almost glad I missed reading this yesterday which allowed me to read more of it today! Picking up on all the clues I missed last time.
The Deptford Trilogy by Robertson Davies - 203 pages. I finished the second book (not my favorite but there were some interesting parts) and I'm now onto the third book which I've been most excited for.
Warbreaker by Brandon Sanderson - 132 pages. One of the twists happen a lot earlier than in my memory, so that was fun!
Learning Not to Drown by Anna Shinoda - 80 pages, first time reading. I'm fascinating about what the whole thing with this book is going to be. The characters are interesting and I'm going to likely finish this in 1-2 days because I want to know what happens.
Far From the Madding Crowd by Thomas Hardy - 36 pages, first time reading. I had no idea what this book was about before starting to read today, and since it's another classic I wasn't sure I'd be into it but I'm really enjoying this. The two main characters I've been introduced to are greater-than-life.
Dracula by Bram Stoker - 33 minutes listened, just doing some more catch up though I've finally gotten back on track. It's nice to just listen in long bursts.

My Theories/Takes On The Next Two Movies In The "Noa" Trilogy.
I'm mainly focusing on the current "Noa" trilogy (hopefully) for the reboot Planet of the Apes franchise. There are also some takes/theories I would like to see happen in the next two movies, or being inspired from other films. I mentioned some of these scenes on discord, and I'm including other ones as well. Keep in mind, this is all just for fun.
Noa Gets Captured a la King Kong Style
If the second movie focuses on mostly Mae's arc after the end of Kingdom, I imagine a scene similar to King Kong 2005 (didn't Owen Teague also mention this is one of his favorite movies?) Maybe Noa is trying to get Mae back for whatever reason, however, her colony sets up a trap for him and Mae tries all that she can to not see him get hurt, and this time by her human companions.
youtube
And maybe a following scene where Mae meets Noa a la Disney's Pocahontas.
youtube
2. Mae and Noa Reunion
I imagine a scene similar to Spirited Away when Mae and Noa reunite in the second (or maybe third) movie. Whether this happens before or after Noa gets captured, I'm not sure, but I digress. Plus, didn't Wes Ball mention he's also a fan of Miyazaki/Studio Ghibli movies?
3. Mae and/or Noa Gets Hurt/Saved
Okay, for this one I imagine three or four different scenes.
First: a scene similar to the ending of James Cameron's Avatar; when Neytiri saves Jake's human form in the trailer. I imagine this can work vice versa between Mae and Noa, and maybe at the end of third movie. Most likely to be closer to this version.
youtube
Second: a scene similar to the ending of Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker. Specifically the scene where Ben/Kylo saves Rey with the use of his force. I imagine a scene like this happening in the third movie as well.
youtube
Third: a scene similar to Peter Pan 2003. Specifically the final fight scene. Once again, more likely to happen in the third movie.
youtube
Fourth, and saved this one for the last part in this section: a scene similar to The Fox and the Hound, and yes, THAT SCENE! Once again, this could work vice versa (Mae stepping in to protect Noa, and/or Noa stepping in to protect Mae). I can imagine a scene like this happening in either the very end of the second film, or perhaps the third.
youtube
4. Noa Has a Whole Monologue Moment
SPOILER ALERT: this is from Conquest of the Planet of the Apes, and imho this is SUPERB A+++ WRITING AND ACTING from Roddy McDowall, Harry Rhodes, and screenwriter Paul Dehn (Owen Teague has to show OFF his acting abilities). I imagine a scene of Noa giving a monologue about protecting his kind, maybe at the end of the second movie.
Side Note: I also highly recommend buying the Blu Ray compilation pack of the OG franchise, it has some great behind-the-scenes features/documentaries, and I especially recommend watching the one about Conquest.

5. Noa, Anaya, Soona & Mae Find A Recording of Will Rodman
This was in my head for a while now, I mentioned this on a discord server, and this is something I can totally see happening maybe at the end of the sequel or some time in the third movie. The trio and Mae find a video recording of Will (James Franco) confessing that HE was the one that caused the Simian virus, that it was originally supposed to be a cure for dementia/Alzheimer's. While he was taking care of both his father Charles (John Lithgow) who was sick from Alzheimer's, and eventually his adoptive son Caesar (Andy Serkis) who was born with the ALZ112 in his system due to his mother being one of the test subjects for the cure; Will reveals he became determined to continue working on the medicine to help eradicate Alzheimer's altogether.
He was working on something that was supposed to help society, not destroy it and cause the downfall of humankind. And because he couldn't take it any longer of seeing his own father regressing further into his illness.
After everything that happened in Rise, to the beginnings of the Simian pandemic, and eventually Caroline's death during the full swing of the virus, he sets up his video camera system on his computer and gives his last confession before either dying of the virus himself; or perhaps (TW) taking his own life (possibly off-camera).
And after the recording is finished playing, the quartet are stunned in complete and utter shock of this revelation. Now obviously, Mae knew about the virus, however, she had absolutely no idea about its true origins until this point; or her authority figures from the bunker KNEW, but kept it as restricted knowledge for only the higher ups to access, while the rest of the surviving humans only know what they were taught from their history lessons (sound familiar?). Meanwhile, this information is once again obviously, A LOT to take in for the ape trio; especially for Noa.
I'm not entirely sure if Noa would distant himself from the others, or become standoffish, (at least according to the deleted scenes) my poor boy is going through the process of an enlightened mind. On the other hand though, I do see him becoming slightly standoffish, considering his reaction to the picture book from the vault.
Will Rodman (James Franco) is probably the only other human character I imagine returning, from the Caesar trilogy.
6. Mae's Story Arc
If Kingdom ended with both Mae and Noa, since the beginning is very heavily focused on Noa's story (to be fair, it IS the classic Hero's Journey). I think the second movie might lean in to Mae's storyline/arc just a little bit more. I do think she's going to remain an antihero/heroine, maybe sharing similarities to how Caesar (not entirely, maybe a sprinkling here and there) was in Dawn, but I don't think she'll go down the path that Koba eventually did.
I think she's still going to remain conflicted about where her loyalties lie between Noa, the grief of losing her team (possibly her entire family) from Proximus's apes, and the fate of whatever is leftover of humanity. To add to this, I also think Mae is going to have PTSD and develop some unhealthy coping mechanisms after everything that happened in Kingdom. I've seen someone on discord talk about the possibility of her becoming a double agent (again, to be fair, the context was a fanfiction AU, but I digress). I absolutely love the idea for Mae, kind of similar to how Jake Sully was in James Cameron's Avatar, before he eventually feels something more for the Na'vi and Neytiri.
While she acts as a double agent for the humans and apes, Mae begins to slowly heal from her trauma when she's with Noa and the rest of the Eagle Clan, and maybe a couple of human allies who also act as go-betweens.
And maybe when she's with the people from the bunker, she can only stay in the quarantine areas, and the only other human(s) she interacts with will probably be either a doctor or nurse (get it??? Shakespeare anybody???)
7. Noa's Story Arc
I'd like to see Noa still learning his role as a leader of his clan in the second movie, we see a bit of this during the flood in the bunker. However, he too is also conflicted about his new view of the world at large, after his alliance with Mae and the whole Proximus Caesar incident. Would he continue to learn about leadership within the confines of his village? Or would he want travel to new areas away from the Eagle Clan, to learn more about this post-apocalyptic world, and the various other ape clans; or underground human communities? Or would he be on the cusp of a dark path himself?
Personally, I have no problem with sweet and naive characters going down a dark path, however, as long as there's a new take on the trope. While it would be interesting to see how Noa's trauma from the events in Kingdom would play out in the next two movies; and maybe it could work as a reverse of Mae healing from her own trauma. However, at the same time, I really really don't want to see him become a thematically dark character.
Like Mae in the aforementioned, I think Noa might also develop PTSD after the events in Kingdom. Whether he finds his own way of healing from said trauma, or dive further into it; hence the darker path previously mentioned, it is up to the screenwriters for the next two movies where Noa's mindset will be. On the other hand though, I would like to see both Mae and Noa learn how to heal together from their traumas.
Hence, Raka's last words to them: Together Strong.

Oh Hey, Some Delisted Sonic Games
If there's one thing that anyone knows about the Sonic franchise, it's that the games have been up and down since 2006. On one hand you get games like generations and colors, on the other you get Boom and Shadow the Hedgehog, that's also their nose picking hand. There's even a name for this era, fans call it the Sonic Dark Age, and wouldn't you know it, some of these games have been delisted by Sega. A list of Sonic games that can only be played with either the original hardware, or good old piracy for those less legally inclined.
Quick disclaimer; for some reason there are a bunch of spin offs lumped into this era, racing games for example. Since they're not mainstream titles, they won't be included. There is also a lot of fan discourse as to when the dark age ends. It ranges from anywhere between 2009 to today. I'm sure I'll touch on those at some point in the future.
It goes without saying that the dark age was kicked off with the release of Sonic 06, infamous for being glitchy, not well optimized, and having a strange story with clashing character designs. It's very strange seeing proportional human designs alongside Sonic and friends. I could go on beating this dead horse, but I can't do much with a grease stain that's now a permanent mark on the floor. All we need to know is that it is one of the games Sega delisted as part of some spring cleaning back in 2010.
Two others were The Secret Rings, and The Black Knight, two games that were originally a part of a story book trilogy that put the characters in story book settings. The third game was cancelled due to poor reception and sales of the previous two, looking through the reviews, there were a lot of control issues.
Sonic Unleashed has recently had a resurgence in popularity, but at the time it didn't get much love due to the were-hog parts clashing heavily with the regular Sonic levels. It also had the typical issue of games back then wanting to be God of War.
Finally there's Sonic Boom, a game that was supposed to be the head of a multi media movement for the franchise. It was hyped up with all the tie ins. There were of course the toys, the comics and the show were very well received, and then the game came out on WiiU and it was was buggy, poorly written, poorly animated, and on a platform that was hemorrhaging money for Nintendo. The story behind how this game became the way it is is an epic saga full of miscommunication, deadlines, and fickle minds. It's honestly a miracle this game was even released. It was only released on WiiU and support for the console ended just this past April, so unless you have one of Nintendo's worst selling consoles, you're out of luck.
Most of the games listed above have been in Sega's shame corner for some time now, rereleases are unlikely except for maybe Unleashed. Their appeal is mostly for the novelty of playing a bad game, which is always a fun idea if you wanna see how much a game can struggle.
Now of course little old me wouldn't endorse piracy, I would never remind everyone how easy it is to download an emulator. While also reminding them to keep their anti viral software and computer up to date. You wouldn't download a car after all right?

*deep breath*
Kung Fu Panda 4 was okay.
The weakest Kung Fu Panda movie by... a wide margin unfortunately due to the incredibly high standards the first three set but not bad by any means. I honestly think there were a ton of great ideas and some moments of fantastic animation that DO live up to the original trilogy. It's just that a lot of these ideas were... undercooked.
Spoilers below. I'm going to be talking about nearly the entire plot in detail.
Again, there was nothing outwardly bad about this movie, aside from a few really lame jokes and some of the characterization of the old characters feeling off at times, with Li coming to mind first. His whole arc of needing to be pretend to be brave made no sense to me as the very first time we saw him in Kung Fu Panda 2, he was bravely fighting off Lord Shen and his ARMY to protect his wife and son. He really doesn't strike me as someone who'd be afraid to fight or act tough when it's for the sake of his son, ya know? Maybe if the reason for his sudden cowardice was BECAUSE of the loss of his wife that day, like Marlin's backstory in Finding Nemo, it would've felt a little more right to me. Li is enjoyable in this movie, I loved his interactions with Ping especially, they're some of the best parts of the movie, but his arc still felt off to me.
And the same can be said about Po needing to choose a successor. First of all, the implication of the first movie to me was almost certainly that "Dragon Warrior" was a once and done sort of thing, that there was only one who could learn the secrets of the Dragon Scoll and defeat Tai Lung, and that Po just kept the title "Dragon Warrior" going forward as a symbol of that accomplishment and because it was shorter and cooler than saying "Defender of the Valley of Peace", which is what he really was.
Second, Shifu's sudden insistence that Po needed to choose a successor to the "Dragon Warrior" title because Oogway gave him his staff felt very off to me. Shifu is probably my favourite character in these movies and while he's still mostly enjoyable for what little screentime he got in this movie, the fact that he was essentially putting words in Oogway's, his dead master's, mouth felt very wrong to me. I know Shifu kind of did that in the third movie but not to the samedegree. There his words just boiled down to, "Would Oogway really approve of you doing this?" while in this movie, he's blatantly saying "This is what my dead master who's not here to speak for himself wants you to do with the staff he gave you, an event I wasn't even there to see myself so you'd better listen to me." Also, Oogway giving Po his staff having some "deeper meaning" in general is just not the vibe I got from the third movie at all and felt like Shifu was, again, putting words in the dead tortoise's mouth and honestly misunderstanding his master and friend.
Po and Ping in this movie meanwhile were perfectly fine though. I actually do like Po's arc of not wanting things to change but having to accept that they will, even if it is, again, undercooked. It's a nice message though and parallels nicely with the villain, someone wo can change form with shapeshifting but never changes on the inside. They really didn't need to pull that obnoxious "you and I aren't so different" speech thing here but Po's speech to the Chameleon afterwards felt very in line with his character. It reminded me very much of his attempts to sway Tai Lung and Lord Shen in the first two movies, but not in a way that felt like a rehash. It just felt like exactly what he would do and campiness aside, I did like it.
Speaking of the Chameleon... This is probably gonna be a hot take but I actually disagree with people calling her the weakest Kung Fu Panda villain. In my mind, that's honestly still Kai. Kai is more intimidating, sure, but while the third movie is better than this one in a lot of ways, I always felt that Kai's connection to Po was very flimsy and his backstory and beef with Oogway never made any sense to me. He always felt so flat and boring, even if, yes, aesthetically, he's a much better villain than the Chameleon. He has much more intimidation factor and better voice acting but to me, the Chameleon is a more compelling character. Yes, her backstory, on the surface, is contradicted by the existence of Viper and especially Mantis. It makes no sense, again, on the surface, for her to be turned away for being "too small."
But I would argue that in the KFP universe, there is actually sufficient enough support for this backstory to not be as much of a stretch as I've seen some claim it is. We don't know WHEN the Chameleon was turned away for being "too small", it could've easily been before Mantis and Viper, who actually WERE underestimated for the same reason (something covered in explicit detail in spin offs but was definitely still implied in the main movies). The thing with them however is that they had Tigress's and eventually Shifu's support and were given a chance to prove themselves, which the Chameleon, a similarly small animal, clearly wasn't given. And this makes even more sense when you consider that The Chameleon is from a city far from the Valley of Peace, so far that no one there even knows the Dragon Warrior and likely not the Furious Five either. She wasn't turned away by Oogway or Shifu. She was turned away by faceless and obviously less open minded Kung Fu masters who haven't heard of Viper and Mantis and just made surface level assumptions about the Chameleon. So while, on the surface, it doesn't make much sense and yes, probably needed to be explained better or depicted in a flashback, it's not this completely bullshit universe breaking thing that I've seen others claim it to be. Although yes, other instances of this movie forgetting the Furious Five are frustrating and make this movie feel cheap but ANYWAYS.
Another reason I find the Chameleon to be more compelling than Kai (though certainly not on the level of Tai Lung or Shen) is her connection to Zhen. I'll be honest, you can say I missed it all you want, but I genuinely didn't see that betrayal coming and was genuinely stung by it. The connection between the Chameleon and Zhen was honestly the best part of the movie for me. They could've gone even deeper with it, and if they had I would probably love this movie to be honest, but what we do get made Zhen a genuinely sympathetic character to me, which I wasn't expecting, and gives the Chameleon a lot more depth without making her soft. At all. The way she used and groomed this orphan child, how she saw "potential" in her on sight that she manipulated to her advantage, was really twisted. I was honestly pretty satisfied with he fact that Shen was the one to ultimately defeat her and found her to be a mostly pretty good villain, even if, yes, she is a complete non-presence before the reveal of this twist. Kai still has that over her but if we're just judging them based on character, I prefer the Chameleon.
I also love the parallels this twist created between Zhen and Po. Their friendship is another thing that needed more time in the oven but I can buy the connection. I think Zhen being this misguided dark parallel to Po was honestly pretty cool and I really enjoyed her training montage at the end. That was one of the few callbacks to the first movie that didn't feel like pandering. It felt like a more natural parallel and showcased the growth of both characters pretty well.
What did feel overly pandering however was Tai Lung's return, but, not for the reasons you might be thinking. I actually think it was a cool idea to have him return as a spirit (it's really not that out there after the third film) and if they could only get one of the previous three villains voice actors to return, Tai Lung was definitely the right call as he genuinely DID have a lot of unresolved... I suppose angst? The problem is that's not what they focus on. I love Tai Lung, and getting to hear Ian McShane voice him and see him fight again was enough to make me go into fanboy mode but the problem is that the movie entirely focuses on Tai Lung's beef with Po, which, yes, was definitely something that would need to be addressed and honestly was done well. I actually LIKE that Tai Lung respects him by the end, although, yes, Kai and especially Shen bowing too was complete bullshit. If I had my way, Kai wouldn't be there since his soul was obliterated by Chi and Shen would be the only one not to bow and would say "fuck you" to Po as he goes back to the Spirit Realm. Honestly the whole "the villains returning" plot was undercooked as well but anyways, Tai Lung:
Most of Tai Lung's beef and in fact reason for being evil was Shifu and I know those two had their confrontation in the first film but the idea of bringing back Tai Lung and not letting him have at least ONE scene with Shifu?! Not have either of them at least REACT to or even MENTION the other?! That's just kind of outrageous to me. The movie wants me to believe Tai Lung is at peace with the fact that he wasn't chosen to be the Dragon Warrior by the end of the movie but they only did half the work to convince me. They convinced me enough that Tai Lung respects Po now, because he freed his soul from the Chameleon and had time in the spirit world to reflect or whatever, but they didn't convince me that he's at peace with the way Shifu unintentionally wasted Tai Lung's life on something he could never have. It feels, again, undercooked.
I've said that a lot this review but it really is the best way I can describe this movie: undercooked. It's enjoyable, it has some fun action and animation and most of the time, good humour, but story and characterization wise, it feels like, well, perhaps not a first draft, it's more solid than that, but an unfinished draft for sure. This movie has great ideas but didn't properly flesh them all out and make them as compelling as they could have been. So despite overall enjoying this movie, which is more than I expected from the trailer to be fair, I can't help but feel disappointed by it, because it's in the same franchise as two masterpieces and a third movie that, while not quite to the same standard, had much more weight and scale and ended the franchise off on a high note overall. Kung Fu Panda deserved better than this but in fairness, it could have been worse.
I know this review of mine was very critical and all over the place but overall, I am happy I saw this movie. The parts I liked, I really genuinely did like a lot.
It's somewhere between a 6 or 7 out of 10 for me.. Definitely falls short of the original trilogy but I liked it more than I was expecting.

CHARACTER ASK!!!! Okay! Letâs do Hiccup!!!
Ooo thank you!!
Send me a character!
First impression: "Aw, he's so awkward" and "cool! He draws like I do!" (I was 13 and recovering from getting some teeth pulled so I could get braces the first time I saw the movie, I didn't think about things too deeply)
Impression now: This man has been through so much and he may be fictional but I have a lot of respect for him. Hiccup is a great character and feels more...real than most other animated characters, if that makes sense? His mannerisms definitely have a lot to do with it. Most recently I watched Race to the Edge and it kinda helped me see Hiccup in a new light
Favorite moment: There's so many. I like a lot of his comedic moments, but also when he's determined and stands up for what he believes in. And basically all of his cute interactions with Astrid throughout Race to the Edge and the second and third movies. Literally love seeing them interact all couple-y. I also thought this was a great moment too:
Idea for a story: I'm not sure to be honest, maybe him telling Zephyr and Nuffink about his and Astrids' adventures? I feel like they'd have funny reactions! Storytime with the Chief of Berk with a bunch of Berks newest generation. Man would be accidentally creating his own legends haha I will say though im currently reading this amazing fanfiction that takes place a year after the third movie, called Pain in Solitude. And oh my gosh. It's so good, and the characters are so on point, I'm accepting it as canon
Unpopular opinion: ...I liked The Hidden World. The movie trilogy to me as a whole was so beautifully done. I mean, at that point , Hiccup and Astrid were engaged for a while, I feel like it was totally plausible for Toothless to want a dragon to love too. But then again, I am a sucker for love stories....
I also really don't want a live action (that part may not be unpopular, but I'm just really tired of all the remakes/reboots)
Favorite relationship: romantically, him and Astrid, they're so cute together. I also like how close he is with his parents, and his friendship with Toothless too of course!
Like dang. That was smooth.
Favorite headcanon: There's a lot of good ones floating around, but I don't think I have any of my own just yet. This is where it would be handy if I actually tagged any of my reblogs in an organized manner lol
Hmmm....he's a good cook, and designs a new axe for Astrid that becomes her new favorite. If I think of anything else I'll let you know!

when you finish kmutc, are you planning to post the whole fic all at once or are you gonna post it chapter by chapter? I can't wait to read itt! đ«¶đœ
kmutc is a trilogy!
so when you see me uploading a fic called feels kinda strange but i'm into it, that's kmutc! kmutc consists of three parts of which part two has two chapters, so it looks like:

thank you for your enthusiasm lovely <3! i can't wait to finish and share her but it helps me a lot mentally to keep her close to me before she's done (and also bc we're still changing details in the first part due to what we're brainstorming for the third part)
not sure yet how i'm gonna post 2.1/2.2 (maybe in one go? maybe with little time in between) but i was thinking of leaving like a month/two month break between each big part, just to do each part a bit of justice and also to let some mini cliffhangers hang a bit ahhaha. we'll see when i'll get there!

this is an explanation of why the later ace attorney games suck so, so badly, and it is probably common knowledge, but i will post it anyway.
so. i talked a little about the aa5+6 issue in this post and decided to look into it further, because i needed to know the reason why the later games are. well. like that. why did no one tell me it was this easy?
first four games? clearly written by shu takumi.
the last two have multiple different writers, and, also, different directors.
so at this point, it all makes sense, but now i'm curious about why this happened. here is a part of the wikipedia article that explains that:
For the fourth game, Takumi wrote the scenario and took on a supervisory role. He had wanted the series to end with the third game, as he felt Phoenix had been fully explored and that his story had been told; he said that it is important to know when to end a story, that he did not want the series to become a shadow of its former self, and that he did not see any reason to continue it. Despite this, the spin-off series Ace Attorney Investigations was created, being directed by Takeshi Yamazaki and produced by Motohide Eshiro; Takumi returned to the series to write the crossover Professor Layton vs. Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney. He also directed and wrote The Great Ace Attorney, which was described as being the first entry in a new Ace Attorney series. He said that he has mixed feelings about the series being developed by other Capcom staff, comparing it to a parent sending their child to their first day in school. Yamazaki and Eshiro went on to direct and produce the main series entries Dual Destinies and Spirit of Justice. Due to exhaustion after working on Dual Destinies, Yamazaki split direction responsibilities with Takuro Fuse for Spirit of Justice, with Yamazaki working on the scenario, and Fuse on the art and gameplay. In 2020, Yamazaki left Capcom.
aa5 and aa6 were basically never meant to exist.
i'm not saying that's a fully good thing. as someone who hasn't played anything other than that main trilogy and aai, it is wonderful to see the fandom interpret the characters from the later games (like athena cykes) in fanfiction and art. i enjoy it! i enjoy the potential and the ideas the new games have apparently given us, however, the games on their own seem to be disliked by the majority (at least the majority of my surroundings in the fandom).
there really is no point or solution to this, at least not from me. i'm just wondering what the games would be like if there were no other writers other than the original one. perhaps, there would be no other games except for the first 3 or 4 ones; perhaps, of capcom didn't push for profit, he would have written a new one eventually.
actually, scratch that, there is one point. the fandom is amazing in my eyes so far and acknowledging the wrongs in the games is important. collective outrage is a weapon in the era where companies make internet personas and interact with us. maybe, just maybe, aa7 will be better. if it will even be, of course. and if it isn't? i'm sure the fandom will pirate it out of spite make better content out of it.

one more tiny teeny little thing + the third installment in my unintentional trilogy of Cute Tummy At Rest Needs To Be Touched
[body insecurity + reassurance, tummy rubs]
Leon sighed and leaned back against the couch, holding his arms behind his head. He was wearing a light T-shirt, and his soft tummy peeked out slightly from beneath it as he lifted his arms. Shel glanced down at it with a smile. Leon didn't have a big belly; it wasn't particularly noticeable in his work clothes, and a baggy outfit could hide it away with relative ease. It was delightfully chubby, though, plush and squishy and apt to poke out adorably over the waist of his pants. Unable to resist its allure, Shel gave the exposed bit of tummy an affectionate poke. Leon blushed, surprised, and pulled his shirt down.
"I'm sorry," chuckled Shel. "Couldn't resist."
"Well, I'm sorry for flashing you," said Leon. He was smiling, but Shel could tell he was embarrassed.
"Oh, don't be. It's a sight for sore eyes."
"Yeah, right," laughed Leon.
"Really! Honestly," said Shel. Leon gave him a skeptical look.
"My gross belly."
"Oh, don't talk about yourself like that," said Shel, waving his hand. "You got a cute belly."
"Shelly."
"Honest!"
"You think so?"
"Sure I do," said Shel. "It's soft. Soft is nice."
"Bill always hated it," said Leon, looking slightly ashamed. "Especially after having Alyssa."
"Bill was a fuckin' idiot," said Shel, waving his hand again. "Bill went and found himself the cutest little spouse this side of the Walt Whitman and didn't even appreciate him. He married a rose bush and decided he didn't like flowers. He got himself a beautiful sandwich and tried to pick off all the good stuff. I mean, Christ, you carry his fuckin' kid and he doesn't even appreciate it! The guy doesn't know shit!"
Leon looked up at Shel, his expression simultaneously sorrowful and appreciative. Shel took Leon's hands in his own, looking pointedly into his big dark eyes, and Leon felt his cheeks go pink.
"Listen, Leon," Shel said softly. "Forget Bill. Forget everything that asshole ever said to you. You're perfect, alright? This?" He gently squeezed the soft pooch under Leon's belly button, and the blush deepened. "It's cute. And all these," he went on, slipping a finger up under Leon's shirt and running it across the intricate mesh of stretch marks that covered his lower belly, "I think they're lovely. They're a beautiful part of you. Even this," he added, delicately tracing the appendectomy scar that Leon hated. "It's a map of a life lived, Leon, and still living, of course. All your marks and scars and wrinkles, all that shit. It's just seasoning."
"Seasoning," Leon repeated thoughtfully. "I guess so."
"Seasoning. And this," said Shel, patting Leon's belly and giving it a gentle squeeze, "this is the best part. Nice and soft. I mean, Christ, I wish I was soft. Bag of bones, I am." Leon laughed.
"You're pretty, Shelly," he said, and Shel smiled.
"You shoulda seen me fifteen years ago," grinned Shel. "Real prettyboy, I was. But I guess I'm doing alright for forty-two. And you're lookin' pretty damn cute at, what, forty-five?"
"Forty-six," said Leon, smiling sheepishly.
"Even better," said Shel. He wrapped his arms around Leon's waist and rested both hands on his tummy. Leon tensed up for a moment, then, finding the warm touch comforting, he relaxed against Shel with a soft sigh, extending one arm around him. They sat together, Shel enjoying the gentle rise and fall of Leon's belly under his hands, idly kneading the soft surface with his fingers. It was a pleasant sensation, and Leon found himself growing more and more relaxed.
"You're gonna knock me out doin' that," he said, laying his head against Shel's shoulder.
"You could use some knockin' out," said Shel. "When's the last time you got a full eight hours?"
"Don't ask a question you don't wanna hear the answer to."
"Mm-hm." Shel slipped his hands under Leon's shirt, gently rubbing his belly. It was warm and pillowy, and the skin was wonderfully soft. Melting in Shel's arms, Leon allowed his eyes to close, and, feeling loved--feeling lovable, even--he slowly drifted off to sleep.

Marty McFly: A character analysis
I might make this a new series. I'm really into analyzing them rn (only because a youtube video said that Marty McFly is a flawless character, which I have. Objection against) (I watched this video just before writing this and now I'm committing myself to writing about the characters).
ANYWAY here we go
So. Marty, am I right?
The protagonist of the back to the future franchise. Which is funny, because I read that the movies aren't about Marty at all: The first film is about George, the second about Biff and the third about Doc. And that kinda makes sense. That's exactly what causes people to see Marty as just a flawless, "hero" type character, only there to solve problems with his confidence.
If people are saying that Marty is flawless, what is his role then? (Also, what confidence???)
Let's break Marty up into his good traits and his flaws for this.
Good traits:
I'd say that Marty's most important, good trait is his loyalty. Be it to Doc or his family, during the trilogy, we see him putting the people he cares about over himself - he goes to save Doc in Part III even though Doc told him not to come back, he burns the almanac even though he could have very well kept it for himself and made money off it but didn't want to risk it after what he's seen. He does solve the problems by looking at his loved ones and finding the determination to actually do it. Even though he could have died in the process, or become stuck, or whatever. We see himself willing to sacrifice the entire universe just so Doc survives the shooting at the mall. He stands up for his young mom in 1955 even though that could mean that he worsens the situation with the whole "lorraine has the hots for him" thing. If that isn't loyalty, I don't know what is. And it helps him get through all the insane shit that he experiences, and always pays off at the end. Except when Doc leaves him at the end of part III, but that's on Doc. Booo. Not nice.
Marty is also brave. You might think, "Ah, but Dary! He literally was too chicken to send his recording tapes in. This is not something that makes a character brave." Maybe. But in my opinion, him being brave is partly linked to his loyalty. Which may be me cheating a little, because I have the loyalty thing covered already and now I'm bringing it up again lmao. But hear me out. The situations that require him being brave are the ones he gets into because he's loyal. For example, the rooftop of Biff's casino in Part II. The only reason he's up there is because he needs to know more details about how Biff got the damn almanac just to set the timeline straight. Not for himself, no. For George. For Lorraine. For Doc. Because they met worse fates in that timeline than he did, and that's his priority. The first thing he does after burning the book is check the newspaper about his father. And Marty would jump off a building to make sure his dad's alive in the right timeline. Another, simpler example is him jumping in front of Sam's car in Part I. Why does he do it? To get George out of harm's way. And it was brave. I would have never done that. BUT (here it comes, the actual point of him being brave being a good trait for himself!) he also is brave outside of standing up for or protecting somebody. In the skateboard chase scene in part I, he's protecting himself from being crushed between a 46' Ford and a manure truck, so he performs the arguably coolest stunt in film history and walks over Biff's car. Just like that. He also does the whole hoverboard chase thing in Part II to protect himself from Griff, even through Griff crashing into the courthouse mall wasn't part of his plan at all. Marty is a brave boy and, despite his insecurities, proves that over and over again.
Being inventive and creative is also part of his personality. From the basics like playing his guitar with passion, being the one to jump in when Marvin was unavailable and playing a rendition of the "Greatest 80s Hits"-CD on the school dance stage from basically scratch to coming up with bizzare plans to achieve his goals. Making out with his own mom so George can play hero? Yes. Throwing a literal pie plate at an old west outlaw to save Doc's life? Also yes. Writing Doc a letter when the dude refuses to listen to Marty's warnings? Absolutely. Saving Doc and Clara with his hoverboard, stealing some kids' skateboards/hoverboards to help him out (which is. morally questionable but inventive and helpful for him), all of these things prove that he's capable of thinking on his feet and has the drive and creativity to get him out of every situation.
Alright, to counter that, let's have a look at his rather bad traits.
Flaws
Everyone who has seen the trilogy at least once is familiar with Marty's chicken complex. Strangely, that only appears from part II and onward, which is. Weird. But I can see where that came from - not wanting to stand in George's shadow, being able to prove that he isn't a chicken or a wimp now that his dad isn't. He wants to show everyone that he's not like the original George, not like the family line of his that "never amounted to anything in the history of Hill Valley". Not only is that a flaw in itself, it also gets him into dangerous and even potentially life-threatening situations (e.g. the duel with Buford). I don't know if there's a word for that, but this is his major problem in the sequels.
Connected to that and the root of the chicken thing is Marty's insecurity in himself. And that definitely starts out in Part I. He's scared of rejection, which is why he doesn't even consider sending the tape with his music the record company. This hasn't anything to do with being brave, this is about how Marty perceives himself. And as we see, he doesn't have very. High views. And here's the thing - he actually learns to be less insecure in himself in Part I, by teaching George to be more confident because his literal existence depends on it and he's basically forced to teach George the things he was never taught (well, unless maybe by Doc) and never believed in. After seeing that this has saved himself and his parents' romance, Marty sees that "hm, maybe I should try this for myself" and actually grabs the tape on his way to the dining room to eventually send it later. Then, we dive into Part II and someone - Griff - directly insults his newfound confidence. Boom, cue the chicken complex (which is, by the way, the reason for the entirety of BTTF III lmao).
Marty is also reckless as hell. Not saying that's it's a bad thing to want to keep your loved ones alive, but there is so much that could go wrong and Marty could potentially destroy the world. Well, now he knows how Doc must have felt since 1945 (Yes, this reference was necessary. Forshadowing for my Doc character analysis post <3). He also tends to get in danger because of unfortunate results of a spur-of-the-moment decision, again bringing up the skateboard chase here. He could have died in this and it's not talked about enough. Marty also offended Mad Dog which led to him almost being hanged. Same movie, Marty could have been shot in a duel. Buford could have gone for the head, you know? Marty didn't have a helmet. I wonder how Doc hasn't lost his mind with that boy yet. He's awfully calm throughout all of this. Maybe I should thank Clara for some of that.
Back to the question: What role does Marty play in BTTF?
Well, there's two things: He creates the problems but then also solves them for everyone around him. He learns things for himself. The first movie focuses on George's character arc, leaving Marty's seemingly nonexistent arc in the shadow. But he did get inspiration to get his tapes listened to. Part II, about Biff. Marty learns that being successful easily doesn't mean you've done things for yourself and your own growth, and that it can harm those around you if you're careless, all while the asshole Biff is in the forefront and we see how cruel he can be. Third movie, about Doc. Marty is the one seeing things through Doc's usual angle and he has to make sure Doc gets home (I'm still sad Doc didn't come back with Marty. Like what the fuck :( ) all while dealing with his own problems, and without Doc being here to get him out of that he finally realizes that dying because someone called you yellow isn't worth it. Marty is the protagonist in the "shadow", the hot dude that has the most screentime but is also important to the plot because of his imperfections - which allows us to explore other characters' arcs and personalities. Thanks, Marty.
Marty isn't a flawless character. His flaws are the reason for the damn threequel and 70% of Part II. He's your average, reckless teenage boy who values his friends and family and would do everything for them.
I love that guy.
PHEW. I truly hope all of this makes sense lol I'm writing this at 11:30 PM because, again, this one video pissed me off by saying that Marty is just a flawless, "perfect" hero character.
