It’s Spencer’s favourite season so i thought i’d write him getting destroyed by a serial killer (god when is it my turn????)

Spencer would consider himself a good person, by default. It’s reasonable: a renowned member of the BAU, with intellect he’s weaponized for morality. The blood etched onto his hands is justified. Necessary evil for greater cause. He’s willing to blemish his skin for the virtue, for the lives of others.
He remembers naivety. He remembers being so fragile he could easily crack into fragmented pieces of wasted innocence. Maybe that’s been stolen from him now, maybe the ruins of his sacrifices are too sharp to touch upon still, but he’s good. He knows he will always be good.
And yet, there’s a bruise. Something ugly and distorted that stains his skin. Something that has the ability to crawl deep into his bones and leave behind a mess of pain. Something bad. Festering and tainted, it haunts him with every breath.
You.
You, who came into his life as an abundance of sunlight. Helios personified. Pretty and warm, and everything he needed. He wanted to kiss you: the moment he stumbled into the coffee shop, tousled hair, overworked and raw from a burdening case. When you took his order, marking constellations onto the styrofoam cup. Andromeda, Ursa Major, Cassiopeia. Later, much later, then when you became an indomitable presence to his apartment.
But for all the good he’s preserved, Spencer knows he’s not allowed to receive it.
“You shouldn’t be here,” is the first thing he says when he finds you waiting for him. He always knew you would come back; you’re bound to follow him indefinitely. Like his shadow, his guilty consciousness, his cracked past of addiction and pre-pubescent torment.
He let you go. When the act was over, the curtain drawn, when he saw you. Homicidal, the perpetrator of the case he was working on, malevolence packed into the frame of perfection, oh even still, he let you go. Free to continue the cycle of death, he was left to scramble in the mess of his own misguided heart.
There’s risk in reward, and reward in risk. You’re meticulous, hedonistic to the last detail. But Spencer? Well, he will always be the one loose end you could never quite force yourself to clean up. The thread that kept untangling, even as time passed. Cut it off, you should be rational, wash every bleeding trace of him from your skin.
But there’s irrationality in love.
Blood adorns your features; there’s no need to touch up your appearance, to return to the domesticated facade you once used on him. No, he’s been exposed to the ugly now. There can be no do overs, no back-tracking, game over try again doesn’t exist in real time.
“What are you going to do about it?” you ask, and god, hes just as beautiful as the day you left him. So perfectly real, with dragging exhaustion and pretty brown eyes to ease the sting of his tight-faced, troubled expression.
You didn’t cut the phone lines, nor move the gun he keeps stashed in his cabinet drawer. Down the hall, to the left. You know he won’t make any abrupt actions. Know, in an intuitive way, telepathic communication between past lovers.
“It was a gamble coming here, aren’t you pleased to see me pretty boy?”
Spencer has to fight every urge he has, every moral he believes in to not lunge at you; to not strangle your slender neck, crack you in half, destroy you the way you’ve destroyed his sanity.
Two years, 8 months, 11 days since you cataclysmically uprooted his routined life. He fell in love with softness, not the jagged edge of a blade.
“I let you go. Wasn’t that enough?” it feels too natural, fighting in his apartment, some sort of twisted lovers quarrel. There’s a definite list of everything he should do in this moment, and despite all logic, he just blanks at the sight of you.
“You had to come back. Rub salt in the wound. Do you get off on this?” a sigh falls from his pretty lips, “Actually, don’t— don’t answer that. We both know the answer.”
“I get off on you,” you correct.
It’s true. If he was to analyse you, profile your warped brain like his other unsubs, he’d find nothing but unyielding loyalty to him. For all the damage you’ve done, there’s always been one anomaly to your detachment.
He stands right before you.
And, sure, maybe you’ve got a leg up in this situation. Perhaps the distorted memory of you holds him back: lazy nights and tangled sheets, his body pressed up against yours. The way he’d talk, quantum physics, philosophy, rambles that dissolved into open admissions of feelings. There’s a lot that was fake, but to be a good liar, you have to add subsidiary details of truth.
God, he wishes the world would be cruel—a cosmic alignment of karmic righteousness that would grant him relief: some kind of justification for what he must do. But the universe is indifferent, nothing but a distant star, a fleeting speck of dust in the grand scheme of life. There’s no such thing as good or bad, only consequences.
Consequences. Consequences for his actions. Butterfly effect. He can comprehend it. But, there were many things he adored about you, while the illusion of love was tangible. The way your hair would curl just above your shoulders, your skin in the morning light. The way you’d laugh at one of his obscure Star Trek references, better yet his criticism on modern, inaccurate horror. He could stare at you for eons, as though he was trying to make out the secrets of the universe in the constellation lines of your scars.
The illusion of love, as it was. He sees you now with the clarity of reality, the same way a mirage fades away as you approach; a distortion of perception.
“And you get off on me. Even now. Don’t you?” you say, shifting forward to close gravitational space.
There’s no way to disregard this morbid connection. No psychological justification he can exploit to demean your feelings. You’re not a psychopath, nor anything that relates to a lack of empathy. You feel— you feel empathy for all of your victims, the line of bodies that mark your path. But it goes deeper than that. There was reasoning for your actions, just as there was for his.
“Say it,” you goad. And there’s satisfaction here, sure. Something mean and condescending. But there’s also hurt, because he was supposed to be a means to an end, and now, he might very well be your end.
“Say you miss me. C’mon boy genius, a few little words and i’ll have enough content to satisfy me for years. Don’t be mean— you know I hate being edged.”
He does miss you, every day that he wakes up, his bones too hollow and cold to leave his bed. The ache in his chest where his heart was supposed to be, too empty to function. No amount of caffeine can fill the void in his skull where thoughts of you used to reside. The longing, the desire for the past to rewrite itself.
“You’re sick,” he tries. But he’s not good at this. Not when the love remained after the inevitable fall out, not when the darkest parts of him still clung to want, even after he realised the truth.
“You’re sick, and..” he tries again, “and I hate how much I miss you. There? Is that enough? Are you happy? Got what you wanted?”
You let out an exasperated sigh, “No. If I ‘got what I wanted’, I would still have you.”
Spencer dies. Metaphorically, literally, what does it even matter? He dies, respawns, and then kisses the admittance from your lips.
Instinctively, just like the past, your hands tangle through his hair, and perhaps there’s a sense of ownership to the gesture. The knowledge that he will always be yours. Scarred from your touch, returning to your lips like a dog with a bird. There’s a mindless attempt at anger on his part, biting lips and rough teeth, but just like always, he quickly melts.
He melts, and you catch him. Because for all it’s worth, lies and deceit aside, you’ve always loved him.
There’s something powerful to the gesture; knowing you have someone wrapped around your finger. Even after you’ve bared the worst of you, the ugliness of man-kind. There’s someone out there that will wipe the blood from your cheek, and kiss you through it.
“Oh, even better,” you mutter against his lips, “Much, much better. C’mon Spence, show me just how much you’ve missed me.”

It hurts, it hurts so much, because there’s a sense of coming home to the kiss, and he just wants you to stay. To ruin him forever. To leave behind a deformed version of him, something unrecognisable and equally scarring.
You’re too loyal and he’s too susceptible to any form of attention. Because you want him, and it’s easy to fall into a cyclical cycle of self-destruction when you’re the catalyst.

Spencer’s hand comes up to touch your cheek, the rough texture of skin meeting something soft. His thumb traces down the curvature of your jawline, a silent hello that doesn’t linger long, too soon to be replaced with his lips.

I think youre right about Jennie(BP) being a Ashlesha native because Meghan Markle is also Ashlesha and she gets crazy amounts of hate all the time for little to no reason. People also for the longest time hated on Megan Fox, another ashlesha and Megan Thee Stallion(Ashlesha Chart Ruler/lagnesh) gets a crap ton of unwarranted hate as well.
Why do people hate Ashleshas so much?
i've lowkey changed my mind about her being Ashlesha Rising
Ashlesha, Vishaka, Bharani and Shravana are all Outcaste naks and people hate on them a lot and they do not have it easy, but Ashlesha is a unique case in many other ways. She's already Vishaka Moon and it explains why people thrash her so much but i don't think she has 2 outcaste naks in her big 3 tbh
the reason i dont think Jennie is Ashlesha Rising anymore is because I've noticed that it girls and icons ALWAYS have Venusian influence. Jennie has no Venus naks in her chart so the only way it would make sense is if she had a Venusian nak as her rising sign. People imitate her, buy everything she endorses/uses/makes, copy her looks, she literally set plastic surgery trends even lol, none of that would happen in the absence of Venus influence, so I have to conclude that Jennie has Venus Rising

The deity of Ashlesha is the Nagas (serpent god)
There are the three main Nagas: Shesha (the world rests on him), Vasuki, and Takshak (Tribal chief of Snakes). In the month of Shravan Nagas are worshiped on a period called Naga Panchami. There was a time when Nagas were growing in the population becoming a threat to humans, therefore they were instructed by Brahma to live deep underwater. They are considered to live under the ocean in a place called the Patal. Nagas are condemned to live in the underground. Some of the Nagas are demons who can hurt others, Whereas, some Nagas are worshipped as gods. Therefore, Ashlesha individuals come with this duality in them where they can either hurt others or they can heal and help others.
the thing is that the mythologies of some nakshatras are very heavy and dark. Ashlesha is one of them. to be condemned to live away from society is part of its myth. being an outcaste nak increases this tendency. this means even if they want to belong, they are shunned by or not accepted into society, which we can see with all these celebs who get hated on for no reason. Others feel their serpentine energy and it makes them feel uncomfortable. some people just have an energy or presence that invites condemnation without reason.
i think these experiences can no doubt make Ashleshas feel bitter and grow fully into their destructive powers. The shakti of this nakshatra, as mentioned in the puranas is "vish ashleshan" which means "burning poison", this is a very powerful shakti to have (every nak has a shakti, you can google yours) but to be able to "burn poison" you have to be unaffected by it, snakes are immune to their own venom. the healing that Ashleshas are capable of is also of a more aggressive kind. its like chemotherapy where you have to kill the bad cells to be healthy again. its not like sunshine and rainbows type of healing.
this is why I said Ashleshas thrive in negativity, they may or may not intentionally create negativity although the themes of the nak suggest that they have a penchant to dwell in or stir things towards darkness. Its that no matter how bad things get, Ashleshas will thrive?? something that would emotionally destroy another person will not do anything to an Ashlesha. this can be scary because they will stay in toxic relationships simply because they have the ability to withstand toxicity. think about megan fox and MGK's toxic relationship, he apparently called her threatening to kill himself and she had a breakdown?? and she wrote a poetry collection chronicling how fcked up their relationship is. in my post about ashleshas and toxic relationships i have cited numerous examples. Ashleshas often have difficult childhoods and these early experiences also contribute to them entering into toxic relationships as adults. a child weaned on poison considers harm to be comfort.
i feel like the whole taurus, gemini & cancer rashi naks deal with heavyyyy themes ,, the later naks suffer in more existential or emotional ways i feel, these ones straight up be fighting for their life with others

I know it's easy to get into the mindset of thinking your work can never be anything other than bad. My own perfectionist tendencies and fears of not being competent enough can attest to that. But your friends wouldn't lie to you about how they feel about your creation, and I don't think they're walking on eggshells either: I reckon they simply genuinely approve of it that much. No matter what other Sonic VNs are out there, or how popular those ones may be, we're all proud of what you were able to make - actually proud, not in a "you tried" sense - and no one can take that away from you.

I don't mind the idea of making something bad. I mind the idea of sinking three years of my life into making something bad, the idea that no matter how much effort I put into something, it'll never really measure up or be enough. I always assume if something better exists that people will always prefer the other person's efforts just out of general principle.
Also, the notion that maybe everyone's being too nice to say anything. God knows that's happened in our circle before >.>
Maybe that's not the case. Certainly, friends and a few other players have said nice things. It even got a five-star rating, so maybe it's not quite as horrible as I feared?
At the same time, I don't want to twist arms just to get feedback. I realize people are busy and what-not - I am too - it's just there's this nagging voice in the back of my head saying that folks wouldn't be quite this reticent if it wasn't at least somewhat bad. And idk whether to interpret that reticence as the VN being forgettable, being bad, being released at a bad time because of Frontiers stuff, people not wanting to divulge spoilers, people not wanting to upset me (because ik I didn't take it so well the first time around) or some combination thereof.

Random Astrology Observations Part-6

~I've seen a lot of Lilith in ascendant (1st house) women getting sexualised not just by men in general, but men who already are in a relationship. This placement is like a flame to the moths, the moths being men already being taken by someone.
I have this placement and god do I not attract my friends' bfs' attention all the damn time. The same guy who didn't pay much heed to me, after starting dating my friend, started being super touchy to me.
Also, people who feel they aren't sexualised while having this placement, might have the desire to be sexualised. Like, they want to be sexualised but then when they do, they start regretting it and yada yada.
~I feel like Saturn in 5th people are the least likely to be in an open relationship or doing anything particularly "hip" OR they can only be in an open relationship. No in between.
~You resemble your sibling's chart in many ways. Especially the 3rd and 11th houses, since they signify your younger and elder siblings respectively.
I am a Scorpio Sun, Moon and Mercury. I checked my sister's chart a few days back (she's younger to me) and guess what I saw. She has a Taurus Sun and Mercury in 11th house, (Taurus being the sister sign of Scorpio), AND an Aquarius Moon in 8th house. (the original house of Scorpio)
ALSO, surprisingly, she and I even have a great Venus placement. My Venus is in its own sign of Libra, while her Venus is in the sign of Pisces. (exalted)
AND, our Jupiters are not in a great sign. Mine is in Virgo while hers is in Gemini. Ehh.
~Pisces Venus are sooo picky. (IN A GOOD WAY) Like dude, you put my Libra Venus to shame. Like no offence but Pisces Venus especially 25° has so many issues at staying satisfied with their choices. Might even leave their person soon too. They feel like they could've done much better but ehh. I mean since y'all are so beautiful, who are we to even blame you for thinking you deserve better. ~Is it a Gemini Rising thing that whenever they like someone or whenever they have a mild crush on somebody (their words, not mine), they'll just want it to be something more and start imagining scenarios with them.

It has it's own ups and downs.

A unnecessarily long and thought out list of Father Brown characters and what Hogwarts House they would be in:

Ok so
I was leaning towards Ravenclaw
In fact I think I could make a very strong case for Ravenclaw
(See his inquisitive nature and want for knowledge)
But
BUT BUT BUT
Because of how strongly he believes in his morals (his faith, for one), as well as how often he chooses to take situations into his own hands, I think this shows his Gryffindor side
Not to mention he’s a Weasley
Also Gryffindors are typically pretty trusting individuals who like to see the good in others, at least a certain category of Gryffindors
And I think Father Brown really embodies this

Hmmmmmm ok
So
This one was kinda hard
I picked Slytherin because of how self-reliant and goal-oriented she is
She’s also a perfectionist and expects others to meet those standards
Also once someone has earned her respect, she is super devoted to them, but not in the same way a Hufflepuff would be
If that makes any sense
Also she’s kind of a bitch
More like she’s very assertive with her opinion
Her being a Slytherin isn’t a bad thing, though

But I do honestly think that his sense of loyalty and how protective he is of his friends (which can be seen particularly when Flambeau is around), makes him a Hufflepuff

This one was so hard my god
I think she show traits of all the houses
She has the ambition, drive, and adaptability of a Slytherin
The creativeness, wittiness, and curiousness of a Ravenclaw
The fairness, genuineness, and open-mindedness of a Hufflepuff
AND the passion, stubbornness, and the tendency to live in the moment that can be seen in Gryffindors
And unlike other characters who show traits of multiple houses, I think she displays them all pretty equally
None of them really strike me as outweighing the others
That being said I had to pick one
I chose Ravenclaw because of how observant and willing to learn she is
She just seems to stand out so much amongst the others in the Pres Crew, yet she also blends in so well
And we just see her being able to read situations and being able to fit in anywhere (season 3 episode 1 with the crazy old guy comes to mind.)
Idk why, but this just feels very Ravenclaw to me?
I’m kind of rambling at this point
But yeah, I could see a case for literally any house

I just think Bunty is your stereotypical Gryffindor
Similar to Sid, I think she does show traits that could be attributed to Hufflepuffs, but I don’t think they are at the forefront of her personality enough

Also if we are talking the stereotypical Gryffindor- irresponsible
That’s NOT to say that she doesn’t own up to her mistakes, because I think she often does (at least when it’s most important), but she is very good at getting herself into those sort of situations

I could argue Slytherin because of how goal oriented and how much of a perfectionist he is

I think my biggest argument would be how logical thinking he is
Like he usually doesn’t get the right guy, but you can always see exactly how he got there
He’s super intelligent, but he doesn’t connect the right dots because he thinks about things so logically, and this is Kembleford we are talking about
Things are rarely logical
And he knows this, which brings me to my next main argument
It’s incredibly evident in his return eps, but it can even be seen a bit in seasons 2 and 3- Sullivan actually listens to Father Brown’s line of thought
There are multiple scenes where you can actually see the moment that his mind snaps to the same kind of thinking as Father Brown (the sex hotel ep comes to mind)
I think this shows how important understanding the situation is to him
Also listen he doesn’t have the Charm/Social Ability to be a Slytherin 😭
He’s just an awkward lil guy!

I know a lot of people really like Mallory, and I can see why, I just have never liked him
He rubs me the wrong way

I also just can’t see an argument for Ravenclaw
But I do think he shows a lot of Gryffindor traits
He’s very reckless and stubborn
He absolutely HATES being wrong
He’s also kind of prone to procrastination: he usually jumps to the easiest solution
But not because that’s the logical conclusion, but rather because it’s just the easiest

I do also think he exhibits a sort of looseness that is so distinctly Gryffindor

We see this in The Blue Cross when he abandons his partner, and in The Judgment of Man when he manipulates Lady F (there are more examples but those were the first two that came to mind)
That being said, as the series progresses, I dare say he shows a hint of Hufflepuff loyalty👀
I think it starts off as that Slytherin feeling loyalty that I mentioned earlier with Mrs M, but I think that it started morphing into something that feels distinctly different
Idk if that makes ANY sense
All this being said, I do think he is still a Slytherin
He’s just becomes less of that stereotypical villain sort of Slytherin and more of a Mrs M type Slytherin

do you think malik goes through periods where he's very fun and bubbly, but then like a switch he's very quiet and wants distance?
GOD YES YES THIS is exactly how I imagine him omg it makes so much sense.
First of all, YES 👏 Let 👏 Malik 👏 Be 👏 Bubbly 👏 And 👏 Loud 👏 2k21 because he DESERVES IT. He should always be happy and loud and it shouldn‘t bother Anyone

Okay that being said, I hc him to have a lot of trust issues, so, to get to experience his “real self” always takes a lot of time and “opening up”.
He’s not shy or an introvert, he just kind of doesn’t trust anyone except himself (and his siblings - most of all Rishid) and has been through so much shit that he keeps thinking any form of friendly approach from someone is all just a tactic to get to his vulnerable sides. (this funny fanart kind of gets my point across). And that’s exactly why he is like that too. When talking with strangers, he would go as far as being extremely polite and cheesy that you almost can’t recognise him anymore. But he’s doing it all to warm up to people and get to their weaker spots, just in case he’s going to use it against them. (see: his whole fake personality Namu-act that wasn’t even necessary for his plan to enter the Battle City finale...)
To get to Malik’s real self i HC requires a lot of digging and trust - which can take a lot of time. He also seems to be quite conflicted over what he really wants, because after all that time spent analysing and manipulating people just to understand their weak spots he’s left with nothing but a constant state of being alert and ready to use it against them. And when the moment never comes - because as hard as it is to swallow down for him, some people might have genuinely just nice intentions - he realises he wasted another opportunity for making new friends and ends up being full of guilt and regret and probably a big self loathing and once again alone. Then forms the question what do you really want? to make friends or enemies? And he’s not sure he knows the answer anyway. Shit, malik’s whole character design strikes me as being conflicted since he’s a whole mixture of traditional and modern af. He seems to be quite attached to his ancient roots and the nobility of his bloodline but he also seems to want to re-invent himself into that motorcycle-driving kid who said fuck destiny i create my own. But the way he talks and puts valor into his ancient beliefs (+ his father’s earrings) clearly shows he’s far too attached to it to let it go (this leads also to the whole deal of being literally born and raised to Serve and also his whole daddy issues, but that’s another page completely).
Like you said, there are moments where he goes completely quiet and wants distance because i can see him reconsidering every step he took. As confident and self-assured as he might appear, and the end it always seems like his biggest enemy is his own self (or his other self... he might get pretty quiet and dissociates also because he’s probably conversing with his alter in his head. But his alter is also another whole deal completely.)
Just like in Kaiba, I see a constant need to prove himself to be better than anyone in everything: His dressing up as the Pharaoh and saying he has the right for the throne, his modern style and extravagant motorcycle/boat, his emphasis on making the enemies remember his name...

He seems to just live in a world where conflict prevails over everything. Every moment and every human interaction is regarded with caution and “how to get the upper hand in this” - because that’s All He’s Known His Entire Life. With the Millennium Rod he also got the power to literally read into humans’ minds (in the manga it’s all explained even better). Seeing the desperation and the desire for his wife in Pandora, the homicidal tendencies and dark past of the mime boy he uses... these were all elements he studied and gathered in his collection of “humans just want power over you”, which just increased his trust issues. Also, his tendency to punish his ghouls when they fail clearly reflects a sense of education where you get punished if you don’t succeed and plus being a capricorn this tends to make a perfectionist out of him (and it’s once again something that was ebbed into his brain as a child thanks to his father). So he strikes me as the type who is never satisfied with the end result of something because it could always be Better.
Anyway, trauma and fears aside (and he has a lot of them) he sparks me to be a very loud and extrovert boy and he would probably be shining brighter than anyone if it wasn’t for all the shit he’s been through. He is very intelligent and a fast learner (I hc him to know fluid arabic, japanese and english) and he’s a good observer and very rational. He reacts with his brain first before using his instincts, but he seems to be very driven by his emotions (since they are the reason he does literally everything). He’s ambitious and cunning but with a soft, soft heart like,, I love how the whole deal of Malik in the manga is that he literally Couldn’t bring himself to gain the full power of the Rod and kill Yugi because he’s so soft at heart. No matter how evil and controlloing he tries to be at the end he just Can’t. It was his alter who did it, who took his place in his most vulnerable moment because he literally Couldn’t take it. He would have died.
“His father filled him with pain and sadness... until all he wanted was to die... So in order to survive, in order to keep going, he had to create another self...”
His alter keeps calling this weakness but it basically shows that he’s just good. He’s good at heart and he needs light in his life to survive. (The whole deal of light and shadows that is made in battle city which also includes Rishid is just so beautiful in the manga - i totally rec reading the battle city arc to you to get malik better). He’s soft at heart and this is why I can see him being a loud and bubbly person once he‘s 100% sure there are no bad intentions behind someone. Because he would be so confident and very diva-ish in his attitude of “I deserve the best and the best only”, despite having so many fears he’s battling against daily. Once he loves and trusts someone - and if that someone makes him feel his best - he would cling to them almost desperately this is how I hc him also in my fics and he would be so happy and loud about it, because it’s like FINALLY taking a Break from that “mental state” of alert and control he Has To keep up to Prove to be good. He’s finally his real self.
anyway i could talk abt this boy for hours like i could write an essay over everything regarding him because he’s one of the most complex and rich characters i’ve ever known and *bites fist* I JUST LOVE HIM AND HE DESERVES TO BE HELD SO BAD.

Assigning Zodiac Signs to Greek Gods
Zeus - Sagittarius
*sigh*, my sign. During Sag season too, LMAO.
Sag is ruled by Jupiter, which is Zeus's Roman counterpart. And it's fitting. It's the planet of expansion and good luck which relates to Zeus. He was the only one of his siblings who wasn't swallowed by his father, which makes him pretty lucky to me. Zeus is a cheating fuckboy, with a love for chasing tail that is the root cause for about 90% of all the issues and conflicts in ancient Greek mythology...that's a pretty typical Sag male move. It's no secret that Sags can be hoes (I say this with love🤗). According to the myths, Zeus was actually a pretty fun, jovial guy who loved a good party, singing, dancing and some drink (the word "jovial" comes from his Roman name Jove/Jupiter). He's impulsive and has a bad temper when angered, though. All fairly Sag tendencies.
Poseidon - Pisces
Pisces is ruled by Neptune, the Roman counterpart to Poseidon. It makes sense that the god of the Sea would be a water sign. Uncle Sy was an emotional MESS in Greek mythology, he's been described as emotionally unstable, temperamental and moody. I'm sorry Pisces but (as someone with a Pisces mother) I can definitely see it. He was quite a hoe too, so I don't know if it's just a mutable sign thing (In which case, welcome to the Hoe club, Pisces👏🏾). His moods and emotions change like the tides (like Pisces), so he's either in a very good mood or a very bad one. Apparently he was quite the sweetheart when in a good mood, as well. Although, man gets a lot of good PR from the Percy Jackson series😒.
Hades - Scorpio
Obvious Scorpio is obvious💀. Scorpio is ruled by Pluto, which is the planet of death and rebirth. Makes sense, as Hades rules over the underworld. Pluto is also Hades's Roman counterpart. Hades isn't technically an Olympian because he doesn't stay in Olympus, his kingdom is in the underworld. I think that's significant because Scorpios like to keep to themselves. The stereotype of Scorpio is that they're morbid, secretive and mysterious. Into the macabre. Kind of like an intellectual brooding, which all fits for Hades. He's not an unfair guy, though. Likely, more on the misunderstood side. I think the fact that only a few people (like his wife Persephone) understand him shows that he doesn't open up or get vulnerable easily or with just anyone. A very Scorpio trait.
Hestia - Cancer
We don't know much about Hestia's personality. She's demure, simple and rules over the hearth and home. Cancers tend to be family oriented. If not, they do have a significant relationship with their home (be that their actual house, or their hometown. Wherever "home" and the family is). The hearth is the centre of the household. It keeps the home warm and provides a place for the whole family to gather around to commune or just feel safe. So, I think that's fitting.
Hera - Virgo
Oh gosh, I can't help comparing her and Zeus's relationship to Jay-Z and Beyonce 😔. Bless her heart, that Sag man has her looking a fool. A complete fool 🤡. Anywho, Hera is beautiful and a perfectionist. Very regal, and strives to maintain perfection. Besides being the queen, Hera is also the goddess of motherhood, monogamy, family marriage, home and protector of all married, so I imagine that she's quite conservative and that (despite the fact that her family is a hot, hot mess) she likes to present the image of the perfect family, kind of like a first lady. She just brings to mind the type of wealthy lady-of-the-manor Virgo woman who runs a tight ship (i.e.: the house/the estate).
Demeter - Cancer
I was debating on whether or not to make sis a Pisces. But, Cancer is linked to the mother and maternal instincts, which I think is fitting. Cancer is a very maternal sign (at least, there's a lot of significance with Cancer and its relationship to motherhood). The most famous myth involving Demeter is about her daughter Persephone being kidnapped by Hades, and how that affected her emotionally. Demeter is described as being very maternal, protective and kind and embodying a very specific type of love, the "mother's love". One the flip side though, she's also quite OVER-protective. She really does embody some of the more negative traits of Cancer as well such as smothering and being a bit over-bearing with her love. She also strikes me as the type to be emotionally manipulative and play the melodramatic "after all I've done for you, how could you be so cruel to your own mother😭" and "so what are you going to say at my funeral now that you've killed me😔" victim card that overbearing mothers like to use so much. But she doesn't play when it comes to her babies and loved ones.
Ares - Aries
Obvious Aries is obvious😠. Do I even need to say anything? Aries is ruled by Mars, which is Ares's Roman counter part. The planet Mars symbolizes raw masculine energy (you get words like "martial arts" from that), and so does Ares. Both Aries the sign and Ares the god are loud, quite aggressive, and they like conflict (they find it quite funny, and they can move on from it pretty quick, it doesn't really distress them). There's also the passion and explosive temper. Ares is also brave, strong and straight forward. He's also incredibly protective of those he loves. According to Greek mythology, the first murder was committed by Ares when he killed a man who raped (or tried to rape) his daughter, so don't fuck with an Aries's loved ones.
Athena - Capricorn
Capricorn is ruled by Saturn. In astrology, the moon (which rules Cancer - Capricorn's opposite compliment) is The Mother. It's soft, maternal and nurturing. Saturn is The Father. It's the planet of obstacles and boundaries and is a very harsh, stern planet. Success will come, but only after learning some very hard lessons. If the moon is like a emotional parent that coddles and nurtures their child (Cancer), then Saturn is that strict, tough parent that teaches their child (Capricorn) from day dot that the world is going to be cruel and unfair, and so they want to break you to make you stronger and prepare you for the world. That's what I get from Athena. Athena was born fully grown and fully clothed (in battle gear, at that). She literally came into the world with her guard up. She's the goddess of wisdom and battle strategy (among other things), so she's very pragmatic and somewhat cold (not cruel, but just realistic). She's Zeus's favourite child, which links to her ruling planet being The Father. She's kind of like the embodiment of the woman who works in a male dominated field (which, she does) so she has to work harder, adopt more masculine traits and develop a harder exterior in order to survive and thrive. She's not the most emotional or vulnerable person either, and it's noteworthy that she never had a childhood (again, she was born fully grown), so she's never had any of the innocence and naivete.
Artemis - Cancer
With the twins (Artemis and Apollo), Apollo is the sun while Artemis is the moon. Since Cancer is ruled by the moon, it makes sense that Artemis would be a Cancerian. This is the third time I'm bringing up Cancer being maternal, but here we are. Artemis has a close relationship with her mother (she killed this one woman's 7 daughters, because said woman was talking smack about her mother), but Artemis also acts as a foster mother for a lot of different people. She's nurturing, compassionate and protective. Artemis is the protector of young women, and women in childbirth (right after she was born, she helped her mother deliver her twin brother, Apollo). She has a group of huntresses (which any girl is allowed to join, so long as they forgo marriage) and she basically becomes like an adoptive mother towards them (she also, in general, likes to take in strays. She’s goddess of moon and hunting so she spends more time in the wild and at night, whereas Apollo spends more time in civilization in the daytime).
Apollo - Leo
Obvious leo is obvious 🦁. Leo's ruling planet is the sun, and is symbolized by a lion with a ~fabulous~ golden main. Apollo is the sun god (among other things). He drives the sun chariot every day and is always described as having long blond (or ✨golden✨) locks, a golden tan, and is just ridiculously bright and golden overall. Hence his other name being "Phoebos Apollo" (Phoebus meaning “bright”). Leo rules the 5th house, which is basically the house of having fun and being yourself, which matches Apollo. He's one of the more active and fun personalities. He's an over achiever (God of music, poetry, prophecy, archery, young men) and is considered to be the most beautiful male god on Olympus. Like most Leos, humility is not his greatest strength, to say the least. He's dramatic, loves attention and likes to stand out and be the sun (around which everything revolves), like a leo, too.
Hephaestus - Taurus
I really don't know why, and I'm exhausted from writing so much for everyone else. I really don't know which sign to put him in, but Taurus seems to match him. Mainly because he's patient and calm. He's a kind(er) soul who just minds his business and does his work. I know Taurus gets a bad rap for being "lazy", but Taurus actually are quite hard workers. They just like to work on their own terms, and usually the more "slow and steady" type (but still hard work with results). Tauruses also love beautiful things, and Hephaestus is an amazing craftsman who's created the most beautiful jewelry that's ever been made. Taurus is also a very possessive sign that is easily prone to jealousy when it comes to their romantic partner. This is exactly how Hephaestus is when it comes to his wife, Aphrodite (who frequently cheats, since she never wanted to marry him in the first place). The fact that Haphaestus STILL loves her and tries his best to prove himself to her an impress her by making all that jewelery for her (even though it's clear that she just doesn't love him, and the relationship won't ever be what he wants) is something a Taurus would do, as they are solid, committed people. Once they've decided they want to make a relationship work, they're fully committed to it. He does have a temper, but it's generally a long fuse, and he seems to function by the law of "don't start none, won't be none". Very Taurus. They mind their business and they don't start mess...but they will end it. The Taurus fuse is very long, but once it goes off...
Aphrodite - Libra
Obvious Libra is obvious😘. Libra is ruled by Venus, the Roman counterpart of Aphrodite. As the goddess of love and beauty, I don't think it's all that surprising to have Aphrodite be a Libras. Libras could flirt for their nation. They're also a bit vain, like Aphrodite, and they can be people pleasers. But, it's well intentioned. Libras are the scale because they like balance and harmony, and they generally don't care for discord or unpleasantries. Aphrodite is the mother of the goddess Harmonia (goddess of harmony) as well. The vanity also comes from their artistic love of beauty, as libra a generally a very creative sign. If the libra themselves isn't creative, they at least appreciate creativity and art.
Hermes - Gemini
Obvious Gemini is obvious. Gemini is ruled by Mercury, which is the Roman counterpart to Hermes. Gemini are multifaceted which makes sense for Hermes as he does a lot of different things. Kind of like a jack of all trades but master of none kind of deal. Hermes is one of the smartest gods in a witty, inventive and humorous way. He was Zeus's second favourite child and his favourite son, and has a more trickster vibe to him. A bit of a scam artist. Hermes is also the god of travelers and thieves. Man just has a way of charming people into liking him, which is a very Gemini trait. As the messenger for the gods, Hermes is also the god of communication (probably a bit of a gossip)...and lord knows Gemini's can talk your ear off. Hermes has a pair of sandles with wings to help with his messenger duties, so he's very fast and is all over the place, since he was so much to do and is always on the go (Gemini rules the 3rd house which is the house of, among other things, short distance travel).
Dionysus - Aquarius
The laid back stoner of the group. And a cult leader. He not only invented wine, but was also the god of substance use, ecstasy and madness. I find it hard to describe Dionysus just like I find it hard to describe Aquarius. I know that traits, but they're just too complex to be able to describe in a single sentence. Like Aquarius, Dionysus and his cult originally was a place where marginalized people could feel free. Sticking it to the man and whatnot, which goes with the activism and revolution that comes with Aquarius, along with the idea of paradise.

Do you have any tips on how to write a female character that's majoring in journalism?
oh boy!!!!!! generally, character-wise, people will of course approach things in different ways, so i’m gonna like mention you know said character and the decisions that she’d make better than anyone else, but i’m gonna write about 1. some “character archetypes,” as it were, that comprise a lot of female members of my journalism school, 2. some general advice on personality traits that would likely be useful/realistic for a female journalism character, and 3. what not to aspire to when it comes to writing women in journalism (ie, this section is just gonna be my biggest gripes about how female journalists tend to be portrayed in media.)
let’s get into it!
section one: “character archetypes,” aka the average personality a lot of female members of my journalism school.
a lot of my really great friends are in the journalism school, and their personality types vary greatly. there are so many awesome women in journalism and this isn’t exactly, like, “BE EXACTLY LIKE THIS OR SHE ISN’T A REALISTIC JOURNALIST,” these are just some character traits/personality things that i’ve noticed when it comes to a lot of aspiring female journalists.
curious. always write them as curious. that’s the backbone of being a journalist is being curious and going after the story. they want to know more about the world, they want to know more about their communities, and they want to provide the perspectives for you, or the reader, or the community, so that you can be better informed/make decisions/be aware. journalists, above all, have that curiosity down; journalism majors can rarely stand not knowing things.
(this also means that female journalists, and journalists in general, really, are very tuned into gossip. not even necessarily “he said she said” gossip, though that can be interesting sometimes too, but things like who got what good grades, which professor said this, what internship accepted who? journalists are basically trained to be investigative and dig deep for things; when it comes to, say, two editors being snappy at each other at a meeting, well, you want to know why, in case whatever is affecting them will affect you. again, not necessarily gossipy in a malicious way that can be portrayed sometimes! gossipy in the sense that they’re usually very in tune with their social circle and immediate community, as well as community at large.)
they are also researchers!!! many journalists are prone to the whole “wikipedia rabbit hole” research thing. they dive deep on a lot of subjects, both broad and narrow, and they like discussing these topics with each other, which again, can vary greatly! the biggest mbmbam/taz Stan i know is a female journalism major, and from there she has a very vested interest in dnd, all because it started with a few funny mbmbam clips (okay, guilty, i was one of the two people who mentioned that it would seem like her thing and now she’s way more into it than i am) and on the flip side of that, there are MANY female journalists who have made careers off their interests—film journalists, video gaming journalists, and social media/pop culture reporters all exist for a reason, and it’s likely because they marketed their interest and therefore “expertise” in these subjects and managed to spin a job out of it!
ambitious. so many kids in the j school strive for really great things, which is super crazy awesome, and they work really hard to achieve it. i know people who have netted amazing internship opportunities while they’re in the j school (we’re talking washington post, new york times, cnn, associated press, like, big organization names) and it’s because they have the ambition to achieve it. they dream big, a lot of the time, and tend to have detailed career goals to go with it.
inclined to ethical/moral discussions. there are a lot of ethical questions when it comes to covering news (there’s actually a wyliwf oneshot in the draft talking about one of my least favorite days of the semester that always comes up in class, which focuses on ethical decisions in times of death, major tragedy, or injury, look up “the breakfast test” if you want to learn more about that particular aspect of being a journalism major) but even when it doesn’t come to major disaster coverage, there are still a lot of little ethical questions to analyze in each area of journalism; journalistic ethics is a whole branch of conversation that i (and a lot of my fellow journalism majors!) fall into discussing. it can be things from the disclosing of anonymous sources to what is and isn’t right to photograph and the inclusion of certain sensitive information or ostracizing it and the importance of fact-checking. i think journalistic ethics is a really interesting topic and it’s usually one of my favorite things to discuss; this wikipedia page just scratches the surface, and here is the spj code of etihcs, widely regarded as a base code of principles for most american journalists to follow, but i encourage you to go out and seek other instances of journalistic ethics, because a lot of the time, what is legal for journalists to do isn’t necessarily right.
organized (even if it doesn’t look like it from the outside) or complete disaster
let’s take my friend, who i’ll call a.c. ac has a color-coded planner, frequently works ahead of schedule, plans out her entire day. she is very tidy, very organized, and seems generally put together. we were roommates in the fall semester and she had a tidy room, a set routine when it came to dinners and organizing her stuff, she’s very On Top Of It
and then there is me. ac once looked at me in horror when i was just starting to write a paper the morning it was due and informed me that the way i approach most deadlines is “her worst nightmare on drugs.” i forget assignments a lot and tend to scramble to do things at the last minute, i am a CHRONIC procrastinator, and yet i still make sure i get things done in time. in essence, i know my limits, and the pressure of a deadline tends to be what kickstarts me into starting those limits.
what i’m saying here is that it’s a vast spectrum, but what tends to drive most journalists is deadlines. journalism people are VERY deadline oriented and their approaches definitely vary, but that tends to be what they stick to most. journalists also tend to have perfectionist tendencies, as a sidenote.
stubborn. holy god. like, just look at the way journalists consistently send foia quests alone, for example, this story about journalists using foia to track hospital bed and ventilator availability in illinous (a dive into sunshine laws, aka releasing public records, which is a whole other thing that people very rarely tend to notice as an aspect of journalism but also lead to really big stories, especially if leaked (pentagon papers, anyone?) and just, yeah. check up on the state’s sunshine laws that you’re writing your story in, i think it could provide a real interesting subplot for you.) journalists. are. STUBBORN. i know people who have sat in offices waiting for public officials to come out for the better part of a work day; i know journalists who have sent hundreds of emails to get one interview; i know journalists who have staged stakeout sessions to see how public officials were using their time when they said they were in the office (hey, including me! i stood in a parking garage for three hours in the middle of winter for this exact purpose once.) what i’m saying here is they are stubborn. if there’s a story, they’re gonna dig. it took woodward and bernstein two years from the time of the watergate breakin to nixon’s resignation. most of the time, that stubbornness pays off.
competitive. yeah, remember that whole ambitious thing i mentioned earlier, coupled with the stubbornness above? journalists are competitive. it’s a competitive job market, so that means that many journalism majors tend to strive for those same big name journalism internships. this is definitely part of my j school culture, so i’m not sure if it’s the same at others, but a lot of people tend to examine what internships or job opportunities or professor favoritism or whatever and see what everyone’s doing, because everyone compares everyone to everyone else. this also tends to feed into other things: getting a story, getting good grades, so on. there’s a definite competitive sense to things, i’m not quite sure how to best explain it, but... yeah. journalists are competitive, sometimes. when it comes to women journalists, it can also be interpreted in other ways (”bitchy” is one) but a lot of journalism majors strive for the best.
supportive.
section two: some general advice on personality traits that would likely be useful/realistic for a female journalism character
a lot of these were touched on above, but i’d also just like to add: they probably have an interest in some aspect of “social justice,” as it were. feminism, ecological issues, economical issues, racial issues—most of the time, a lot of journalists see these real world issues and it’s what leads them into the career.
there’s also the whole... ugh... fake news media thing, which i feel like i have to touch on just because: i will say fake news is a meme amongst journalism majors, in that we mutter fake news to each other when our professors are like “this class average is so low y’all need to study more” when it’s their fault for not teaching us i won’t go on that tangent, however, i will also say that this whole idea has contributed to spiking rates of mistreatment and violence against journalists. i’ve been fortunate in that the most tense i’ve ever felt in that situation is taking an uber to a journalism assignment in a white guy’s truck littered with american flags and blaring alex jones on the radio, which i was able to lie and say that i was doing something else and concealing the whole journalism aspect, for my own personal safety, but a lot of other journalism majors i know aren’t so fortunate. i know women who have been yelled at, insulted, and there was a girl who worked around the same time as me who got spit on.
female journalists are usually treated more roughly regardless (when i went out for my first story, my editor sat me down and looked me in the eyes and said “someone might laugh at you because you’re young, and you’re a woman in print journalism, and you know what? fuck ‘em.” which was the first time i’d ever heard her swear and also one of the only times i’d ever heard her swear) so they tend to have to double down and really make sure they know their stuff in case they’re ever quizzed on it in a way that male journalists never really are. this is of course not to say that we’re all mistreated, all the time; it’s just something that female journalists are aware of, the way most women are aware of sexism in general.
section three: realism, and also, hey, maybe don’t do this? just because it’s both unrealistic and like. kinda sexist undertones imo
hoo boy. i’m just gonna take it down the list of some popularized media portrayals of journalists that you might be familiar with and outline why each one is, well..... Not My Favorite?
camille preaker, sharp objects
i do really like gillian flynn’s work, especially gone girl, but camille preaker just rubs me the wrong way? it primarily comes from the ethics involved in her whole situation, and i know they did it for ~drama, but it just... okay, here we go. for starters, you would probably not go out drinking with a source, unless it’s at an event, and you definitely don’t get drunk. you try not to interview people you have personal ties to, because the bias can infiltrate through your work. you ABSOLUTELY DO NOT sleep with your source, especially if he is a member of the police force and a primary source on the murder investigation you’re looking into. just...yeah, those two are the main things?
rita skeeter, harry potter
ugh, the way that rowling painted the daily prophet rubs me the wrong way. like, i understand, and i know that it’s probably more a mention of tabloid culture than like News, but it still just?? it’s the primary news source of the wizarding world?? really?? but yeah, sneaking into places (hospitals especially) to get a story is a massive no-no that would immediately get you arrested.
joan calmezzo, parks and rec
look, i know it’s a comedy, and i know that it’s not realistic, and i know that there is definite semblance for the “alcoholic journalist” thing (an editor i worked for once talked about how her old boss hid a flask in the water fountain in city hall so that he’d be able to get it and drink on the job) and statistically, it does show that journalists turn to sugar/alcohol/caffeine, but i just?? journalists wouldn’t show up to work absolutely blacked out, and if they did they’d definitely get fired.
rory gilmore, gilmore girls
the way rory approaches job hunting makes me cringe down to my very soul. in the original series, from what i’ve seen, she approaches it relatively well (applies everywhere she can, networks, ends up accepting a relatively small job that still provides a massive opportunity to report on a major political figure) but in the revival. who DID that. rory sleeps with a source (WHAT IS IT WITH FEMALE JOURNALISTS ALWAYS SLEEPING WITH SOURCES IN TV SHOWS AND MOVIES?!??!?!!? NO!!!!!!!!!) and falls asleep in the middle of an interview (N O !!!!!) and seems to not understand the concept of freelancing at all (really????? you aren’t working on multiple stories at once??? really????) and also just??? completely disrespects the basic semblance of a job interview??? no matter how impressive your resume is, you still come prepared with ideas and answer questions and no job is OWED to you, especially not with journalism being as competitive as it is, just????
the movie “absence of malice”
i know this one is probably less common, as it’s a movie from the ‘80s, but i still wanna talk about it anyway. sometimes, yes, you write about suspects of murder on the front page of the paper, but federal prosecutor’s don’t usually leak info like That (though rosen is obviously corrupt) and you just?? okay, anyway, carter not revealing her source is good, that’s what a journalist would do, however, teresa perrone disclosing personal information and pleading for her not to include it definitely falls under the realm of an anonymous source. the primary aspect of journalism is “do no harm,” and since disclosing what perrone told her would have harmed her livelihood, carter absolutely either shouldn’t have put it in or made perrone an anonymous source. then we get back to the whole dating sources thing (YOU DON’T DO IT!!!!!!) and then you don’t REVEAL THE SOURCE THAT HURT THIS MAN, OH MY GOD, you still have an obligation to protect your sources!!!! also just generally just!!! this movie does explore a lot of ethical journalistic issues but the sloppy reporting in it just puts me On Edge, ya know?

He's a pretty social guy, but he'd totally respect you being an introvert, and afford you as much alone time as you need. He would, however, try to get you out of your shell sometimes and share your wonderful personality with the world. Poe would definitely find your dry sense of humor HILARIOUS and really enjoy your company. He would be supportive of your ambitions and live off your competitive streak rather than dismiss it. (He’s got his own competitive streak to content with after all)
He’s definitely the type to show you off and watch from the side lines as you deconstruct someone’s argument while filming in classic “you’re doing amazing sweetie” fashion.
That being said, you balance him out as well, often being the voice of reason and bringing him back down to Earth when he gets a little too caught up in his own ego.
He says he doesn’t like you mothering him, but secretly he enjoys the attention. (He also thinks you’re rather cute when you’re bossy, but he’s not about to say that out loud, unless you get him drunk)

my brain is actively rebelling at the notion of writing anything tonight (i literally just woke up like an hour ago out of hunger and am going right back to bed tbh >_>) so hey, have a meme

Armoured Closet Gay - AKA Haggard's Law, or the Law of Inverse Homosexuality: The more vocally opposed a person is to homosexuality, the more likely they are to be gay themself and closeted about it.
Family Honor - Family honor is the feeling or pride a person has for their own family or clan, whether because of a unique family history, the achievements of ancestors, the elevated social status of their family, or because of some cultural aspect of their homeland that places a strong emphasis on associating personal identity with family identity. Central to the idea of family honor is that the actions of one member reflect on the reputation of the entire family, and the reputation of the entire family reflects on the individual member.
Follow in My Footsteps - Parents often want the best for their children. It's only natural. Unfortunately, some parents take this to the conclusion that "whatever worked for me will work for my kids — end of discussion" — so the kid will find themselves being groomed and press-ganged into stepping into their parent's shoes, whether they particularly want to or not. This is particularly the case if the steps in question lead to the Family Business, and especially if the parent is a Self-Made Man (or woman).
Out of the Closet, Into the Fire - An LGBT character chooses to come out, or is Forcibly Outed, from their figurative closet and is harmed or dies. The world is not a nice place, and once it is revealed they are LGBT+, things go badly wrong. For this trope, once a character has come out they become a Cosmic Plaything, facing hardships from the natural world because they have dared to vocalize being queer.They have stepped into the line of fire, being persecuted by the god of the story, for coming out. Alternatively, if they've been out but "inactive", once they enter a relationship or decide to transition, etc., they will experience this harm or death then.
Sheltered Aristocrat - The Sheltered Aristocrat is a character who has lived a life sheltered from the everyday trivialities which the lower classes have to contend with. In this way he is pure and untainted by the hardships of the outside world.This results in a certain naivety and ignorance, despite the numerous tutors he's no doubt had all his life. When he is finally exposed to the outside world, it becomes apparent that the character is out of his depth. He doesn't realize how difficult and dangerous life outside his palace really is, and as a result he is a Horrible Judge of Character, easily duped by conmen and stolen from by thieves. Often he thinks he can talk his way out of confrontations, or throw money at any problem, and generally doesn't recognize, at least initially, that bad things could actually happen to himout in the real world.

(this is from the libran woman section b/c it fit well. although, it’s also very sexist) She may be as dainty as a fluffy, white bunny and she may whisper with gentle persuasion. She can dress in silks and laces, and her hair can smell of fragrant cologne. She might even look like a little doll you could lift with one hand (though a Taurus or Sagittarius ascendant would make her considerably more hefty). But with all her femininity, sweet mannerisms and lovely grace, this girl wears a pair of trousers with surprising ease, and they'll fit her rather neatly. Her mental processes operate with male logic and they can match yours in any discussion you care to start. They can even top yours on occasion, although the female side of the Libra woman is usually too smart to let you catch on to that until you're safely past the honeymoon. During the mating season, she'll be careful not to beat you at chess, but she won't hide her sharp mind behind those soft dimples forever. Aah hello, I’m super excited to be joining you all and I can’t wait to start plotting with everyone. My name is Liv and I’m pretty much trash for everything about sci-fi, fantasy and pretty much any other genre you could throw at me. I’m English, I like tea, dogs, I’m 19 and currently at uni studying sports therapy (yay medicine).
I tend to use skype more often for chatting and plotting mostly just because it messes up less than tumblr so if you want to add me there just ping my a message and I’ll give you my username but I’ll plot over tumblr too if that’s what you’d prefer. I’m very chill about everything so no need to rush replies. I also ramble a lot, like it’s kind of ridiculous how much I can ramble. Anyway, I’m just going to put some background about my sweet cinnamon child who tries to help all the people because he’s nice like that under the cut and if you’d like to plot please feel free to hmu. \O/
H I S T O R Y ;
Life was relatively normal for Zach; born the only child of the Stryder family he was loved and cared for like any child. Even when his power manifested at quite a young age they loved him all the same, though they thought that since he was only displaying minor capabilities there was no real harm in keeping him at home. Over time and with practise his powers continued to grow in strength until one fateful day the event that would change his life occurred. After a particularly intense argument with a neighbour he accidentally tripped a blackout across his home-town and the surrounding ones.
The Stryder family knew it was only a matter of time before organisations connected the dots and came to try and collect young Zachary and take him away before anything more severe occurred, but little did they realise that Zach’s abilities had already been picked up by scouts for a faction of elitist mutants who wished to recruit him for their cause. He was after all, incredibly powerful for his age and still had plenty of time to grow this power and in an age of growing technological warfare his abilities were considered indispensable.
The day of the blackout was when it was finally decided to extract him for the cause. Unfortunately for the mutants sent to collect their prize, Zach’s parents (his mother already being a former student) had already been in contact with the Academy about potentially having him transferred there or even a mentor being assigned for his own safety. The attempt to kidnap him went south; his mother being killed in the chaos and his father severely injured, ultimately leading to the decision for Zachary to be transferred from England to the Lynx Academy where he has since lived since he was in his early teens. An odd case in comparison to most. Zach is incredibly apt at engineering, electronics and designing gadgets mostly wishing to simply make both his and everyone else’s around him more easier.
P E R S O N A L I T Y ;
Zach in a nutshell is an attractive nerd, he’s intelligent, friendly and has a great sense of humour; which makes it hard for people to not like him. He is a known prankster more often than not being up to some mischief with his friends around the Academy. Despite his intelligence Zach is rather socially awkward resulting in episodes of technical and science babble when he feels nervous. Even though he is prone to mischievous tendencies he is an incredibly hard worker; wanting to succeed and often putting himself under immense pressure to get things done to perfection.
He isn’t the strongest person on the island and he knows it, but he makes up for it with his brave attitude and quick thinking making use of anything around him to get out of a bad situation or help people out. He is strongly opposed to anti-mutant agendas though is fully aware he isn’t really going to be any help on a battlefield and thus aspires to be as useful as possible off of it in the engineering and technical department.
