Naff! Naff! I finally read the last chapter of Song Fish!! Let me just start with saying that I am not normal about this chapter, not at all. There's so many things happening here that make me go INSANE in the BEST WAY!!!

Enjoy my essay!! XD

(Sorry, it gets a little gory at one point)

I HATE (hate-love you know~) how Circus forcefully gives y/n air and then drag them underwater again. She's so insanely cruel. Treating y/n like they're nothing more than a tool. I love how you made her into just a villain. Part of me for some reason thought that she would be some kind of anti-villian who didn't wanna just straight up kill you for personal gain, but man I was so wrong! Djfkfjhfjr

The dread and hopelessness we're immediately thrusted into and have to endure through the first half of the chapter is so well done and sets the tone so well! The glimpses of hope through the living nightmare y/n is going through keeps both y/n and the reader hoping for all this to end, it was hard to breathe sometimes and I could imagine the absolute darkness so vividly.

The absolute terror of being stuck in a sunken ship at the bottom of the sea.. that's the most terrifying place to be. It's like being stranded in space. Y/n really got the iron lung experience huh..

The visual I got whenever Circus was in the air pocket was striking. The way she lights up the entire space and water below in red is terrifying and in ways beautiful. Her giant green eyes have been seared into my mind and retinas somehow, I can visualize them so clearly against the red glow of her body.

Her tentacles snatching up y/n, squeezing and tossing them around in this already claustrophobic space sounds like literal hell and how y/n tries desperately to wipe the slick slime from Circus' tentacles away after she's let them go makes me cry :'0

It's terrifying how she can manipulate and control y/n so easily. Mers have all the control over their humans, knowing that fact makes me melt more over how sweet and caring Sun, Moon and Freddy are (and also Eclipse♥️). Just thinking back to Vanessa now and how Glitch controlled her like a puppet... I'm glad Circus never got that far with y/n..

Freddy saves the day!!! Aw Freddy, he's so sweet c': and oh my god Gregory what the hell are you doing out there with so many broken bones! I appreciate your help immensely but DAMN!!

Oh man and here's the fight! HERE'S THE FIGHT!!!

No no!! It's not fair, Sun stands no chance even when fighting back! Circus is a coward for forcing y/n to tell Sun not to fight,, she has the power to make it easier for herself yes and it's smart of her to use that power, but man it's cruel...

I feel like I say the same thing every time, but the way you write fight scenes between monsters is always so spectacular, bloody and filled with so much anger and heavy emotions. I'm blown away every time!!

When Circus's jaws opened up and her face pealed back I had to stop and celebrate! I'm so happy you kept that terrifying feature of hers and used it exactly like I did with my drawings of her! I'm just over the moon that my weird design turned out to be accurate to the fic! XD

She's terrifying! I love her! And hate her!

The tearing and slashing and biting AAAAA!!!! Oh god poor y/n having to feel what ALL THREE are feeling,,

Thank god for Freddy being there to stop Circus. The glimpses of fright finally being felt from her is SO SATISFYING! She screwed up majorly by messing with this group of mers and humans, and finally she's feeling that regret and fear for what she's brought upon herself.

They tore her head off!!?!!? Absolute BEASTS!!!!

I try to imagine how much that'd hurt but it's impossible. To Circus the pain stopped once her neck broke apart, but for y/n it persists. To feel every nerve snap, the skin tear, muscles rip and spine break and then the fading of consciousness on top of it all. And have all that pain stay after you're supposed to have died from it.. yeah I have no way to describe it and no way of imagining how that must feel. ....I'm not surprised y/n fainted.. though I do believe it was something more than just a faint..

*Deep inhale*

THEM!!!! FISHER AND ECLIPSE!!! IT'S THEM!!!!!!!

Oh I am not normal over our two y/ns meeting each other!! I screamed and cheered and nearly cried I was so happy to see those two again!!!

The way fisher is there to greet y/n and help guide them is PERFECT! And Eclipse being there too in his full glory, his beautiful red and orange colors against the bright white sky and dark star dotted ocean is striking. Absolute eye candy (which is funny to say cause it's writing, but you paint everything up so well so I can visualize it without any problems!)

I love this afterlife, or in-between life and death you've created, it sounds so peaceful and otherworldly.

Excuse me for a second as I scream into my pillow. AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA THEY TURNED INTO YOUNG VERSIONS OF THEMSELVES BEFORE THEY LEFT!!!! AAAAAAA MY HEART!!!!! I'M CRYING!!!!!! I love them so much,, fisher and Eclipse are so precious to me and I'm SO HAPPY TO SEE THEM AGAIN!!!

I love how you've tied these two stories together and how one of them even effects the other. I really wanna reread Deep Dreams, it's soon been a whole year since I first read it!

Fisher and mer Eclipse hold a special place in my heart. I'm so happy you brought them back for this conclusion, it's a beautiful conclusion to their story too ♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️

I wonder how much Sun and Moon could feel when y/n was under. Could they sense the presence of another great mer near their human or see what y/n was seeing? Or did they feel nothing, nothing at all, and for a moment thought they had lost the person they live for? My brain goes brrrrrrrrrr when I think about it~

They're like cats! Since when were they like cats!? They're licking each other's wounds!! AAAAA SWEETIES!!!

Can I ask again what kind of sailboat this new one is?? Aaaa they're painting it so prettyyyy!!! :'D

Meep, I am enjoying your essay wholeheartedly, you have no idea!!!

Oh my gosh, Y/N is getting the iron lung experience ;-; Too many terrifying situations under the oceans these days!

Yup, that's what poor Vanessa went through! Fisher Y/N thankfully never had to find out what a terrible mer could do with such a bond, but I wanted to explore that concept more, and who better than our fearful little Y/N trying to do their best?

BABE I'M SO HAPPY YOU LIKE THE RETURN OF ECLIPSE AND FISHER Y/N!!! It was one of my favorite scenes to write!

As for what the boys felt when Y/N was gone, it was a stark emptiness. The strict feeling of something needing to be there but wasn't. It was so out of place and terrifying. The boys were truly scared that they had lost their little seashell.

The next sailboat is a sloop as well! Y/N got pretty attached to that type hehe

Ahhh, I'm rattling you in return!!! I'm so glad you'll tell me your thoughts on it and I'm even happier that you enjoyed it all!!!

For the WIP game, tell me more about the Elrond and Durin fic! What's it about? Set during the timeline or the show, or before?

Also, rarepair junkie that I am, I am intrigued by Legolas/Haldir. What gave you the idea to put them together?

aaaaa, thank you so much! <33333 I wrote a little bit about the Elrond and Dúrin thing here - it's set during the timeline of season one, or at least the bit I've written so far is. :D It's mostly Elrond musing about his heritage and his friendship with Dúrin, and how Dúrin Gets Him without even trying, whereas 'his own people', particularly Gil-Galad, only see a part of him. I suspect Disa will be turning up before the fic is done. XD

Meanwhile, the Legolas/Haldir thing, about which I am rather excited - I'm writing it from one of the prompts for the tribute collection for Keiliss, which is basically 'Legolas/Haldir in Ithilien', and it's sort of building on a few hints I put in my TRSB2021 fic as my artist Sylanna had asked for a bit of Legolas/Haldir if I could squeeze it in. In a nutshell, Legolas had a bit of a moment with Haldir after the battle of Helm's Deep (in which, as is traditional for me, Haldir DID NOT DIE but was wounded) but didn't get chance to actually talk to him or do anything about it before they all had to leave, and he is very pleasantly surprised when Haldir and his brothers pitch up in Ithilien wanting to join his little colony. It also has a few hints of my series Silent Affinity, in which Rúmil and Éowyn strike up something of a friendship after Helm's Deep, because I can't put them all in Ithilien without those two being friends. :D Here's a snippet of what I've got so far:

Around the middle of our second summer in Ithilien, my little colony receives a small delegation from the Golden Wood, riding slowly along the road that leads from the North; it receives much more traffic now, as we establish ourselves here with supplies from my father’s realm.

Well, I say ‘delegation’. When they draw closer, I realise that it is in fact Haldir, the Marchwarden of the Northern Wood, and his two brothers Orophin and Rúmil. I met the three of them briefly when the Fellowship entered Lothlórien upon our quest, and again at Helm’s Deep when Haldir led the combined forces of Imladris and Lothlórien to our aid; but I do not know them well. The last time I saw them, Orophin and Rúmil were sitting one either side of Haldir’s pallet on the floor of a room in the keep as he lay sorely wounded, cared for along with his injured fellows by the women of Rohan and the others of our people who had survived.

“Mae govannen!” I call to them, dropping out of the tree where I was keeping watch to land upon the road in front of them. “Welcome to Ithilien, mellyn-nín!”

“Mae govannen,” they echo as they draw their horses up before me, and all three of them are smiling.

“What brings you to our little settlement?” I ask, and they exchange a glance, looking at once conflicted, wary and, somehow, free.

“The Lady will sail West before the year is out,” says Haldir, “and the Lord is going to Imladris to live with his grandsons -”

“And keep an eye on them and make sure they don’t bring the place down around their ears,” Rúmil puts in with a merry laugh and Haldir rolls his eyes.

“I think there is more to it than that, gwanûr-nín,” he says mildly. “In any case, the Lady and the Lord gave all of us the choice as to whether we would follow her West or follow him to Imladris. We asked for permission to join you here, if you have need of us.”

I suspect there's going to be a bit of slow-burn yearning-and-pining before Haldir's brothers and Éowyn knock their heads together and make them stop being idiots. :D I'm hoping to get it done in time for the collection opening on the 19th, but we shall see.

Okay so, um, I hope you don’t mind me requesting something! ^.^ 💕 You always support me and I wanna support you too!

So, Uraraka and Ojiro. Fluff & Tickles. The idea is that Uraraka is stressed out and one way she copes is by coloring, and Bakugou or whoever sees her and teases her, then Ojiro defends her and says like, it’s fine to be a kid sometimes, bc they’ve grown up pretty fast. And so like, the next day they go to a park and swing, he gets her ice cream, then they go back to the dorm and color while watching cartoons, and then a tickle scene happens on the cartoon, and then it leads to him tickling her and hugs and cuddles and friendship. Aaaaa 🙈

To Be a Kid Again (BNHA)

Ojiro wants to show Uraraka that it’s okay to be a kid again sometimes.

Pairings: Platonic Uraraka and Ojiro

Warnings: Bakugou being a jerk, some light angst

Word count: 1.9k

A/N: Omg this is such a cute pairing!! I've never even considered them together, either as friends or as partners. What would their ship name be? Ojiraka? Also, I've never written for either of them, so I hope this is okay!

Uraraka was tired. It had been a long day at school, and despite the fact that it was only Wednesday, she was more than ready for the weekend.

After changing out of her uniform and grabbing a couple items from her room, Uraraka flopped down onto one of the couches of the commons with a heavy sigh. She really didn’t have anything to do now that classes were over for the day. She’d already finished her homework and dinner wasn’t for another or hour or so. Despite how exhausted she was, she had just enough energy left to do one of her favorite activities to pass the time: coloring.

She didn’t know why exactly, but something about sitting down and letting herself get lost in the mindlessness of coloring had always been soothing to her. So there she was, sitting on the couch crisscross, using her knee as a table and getting to work. After a few minutes, the brain fog that had been plaguing Uraraka the last couple of hours began to disappear, and her mind was back as ease.

That was, until Bakugou came into the room. Looking just as tired and grumpy as she felt, Bakugou was about to head up to his room when Uraraka accidentally caught his eye.

“What are you looking at, Round Face?”

She quickly looked back down at her lap in alarm. “N-Nothing. Sorry.”

Bakugou continued to glare her way when he noticed the book in her lap and the pile of markers next to her. He came a few feet closer, eyeing it suspiciously.

“Tch. What are you, five years old?”

“Wh… what do you mean?”

At this time, Ojiro had just entered the commons and was just about to step into the elevator when the other students’ conversation caught his attention.

“Coloring books? Seriously? That shit’s for babies.”

Uraraka felt her cheeks start to burn.

“Hey, hey!” Ojiro jogged over to see what the commotion was about. Bakugou tended to pick fights pretty easily. “What’s going on here?”

Bakugou just crossed his arms and scowled at him.

Ojiro looked down at Uraraka, whose ears and cheeks were painted red. He then noticed the art supplies surrounding her. “Is he giving you a hard time?”

Uraraka just looked back and forth between the two of them, not daring to say anything.

“I heard you say something was ‘for babies,’” Ojiro turned to Bakugou with a stern look on his face. “You weren’t talking about coloring, were you?”

Again, silence.

“It’s really not, you know. People draw and color all the time! Besides, even if it was, what’s wrong with that? Everyone should be allowed to do things they enjoy, especially something as harmless as coloring. I don’t see what the problem is.”

“The problem is that we’re trying to be heroes!” Bakugou shot back. “Heroes shouldn’t be doing childish shit like that! If you really wanted to be a hero you’d be out training!”

Ojiro sighed, a little exasperated. “Of course training is important. But rest is important too. Doing things you love is important. If you don’t take the time to be a kid and let loose a little, you’re going to burn out. No pun intended, in your case, Bakugou.” Ojiro smiled, a little teasingly.

“Ugh, whatever,” Bakugou relented and headed back towards the elevator. “Whatever it’ll take for you to shut up and stop lecturing me.”

Uraraka and Ojiro both snickered at that, and in a few moments, it was just the two of them.

“Sorry about that,” Ojiro said apologetically. “Bakugou can be a real pain sometimes.”

“No kidding,” she agreed. “Um… thanks. You really didn’t have to do that. I’m sure I would’ve been okay on my own.”

“Of course you would have! But what are friends for?” Ojiro smiled brightly, holding out his hand. Uraraka smiled back and accepted the hand up. “You hungry? I think it’s about time for dinner.”

The next day was just as hard, though Uraraka did feel a little better after a good night’s sleep.

After dinner the previous night, Ojiro had asked if she’d want to hang out the next day after classes, in attempt to keep tabs on her since her fight with Bakugou. She assured him she was fine, but he insisted that it was his treat, so she obliged.

“So where are we going?” Uraraka asked walking next to Ojiro on the sidewalk.

“I’m taking you to one of my favorite places.” The two entered a chain link-fenced area.

“…a playground?”

“Yep! This was one of my favorite places in the world as a kid, and it still is. Come on! Let’s swing!”

And before she could argue, Ojiro grabbed her hand and tugged her along towards the swing set. Thankfully there wasn’t anyone else around, so they had the place to themselves.

“So,” Uraraka started, swinging her legs a little. “Why are we doing this exactly? I mean, don’t get me wrong, I love hanging out! But where is this coming from?”

Ojiro laughed and rubbed the back of his neck, a little sheepish. “I was thinking, well… I wanted to show you that’s it’s okay to be a kid. To let loose a little. You seemed like you needed it, especially after what happened yesterday.”

Uraraka’s heart warmed at that. She really couldn’t ask for better classmates as friends.

Ojiro’s expression dropped to something a little more serious. “I’ve realized that we’ve all had to grow up so fast in these last few years. It makes me kind of sad.”

“Why is that?” Uraraka questioned.

“Don’t you miss this kind of stuff?” He gestured to the rest of the play set. “As much as I hate it, I think you and I both know there’s some truth to what Bakugou said yesterday. Heroes are supposed to be constantly training, constantly trying to grow and improve their skills. All that’s great, but it leaves no room to be what we actually are… teens. Kids. Don’t you ever feel like you grew up too fast?”

Uraraka couldn’t help but think about her parents. How, as just a little girl, barely old enough to go to school, she committed to helping them make money in any way she could. All the experiences she’d missed out on when she was younger due to her family’s financial situation. “Yeah… I guess I do.”

Ojiro offered a sympathetic smile. “That’s why it’s times like these, in the little spare moments we have to ourselves, that we can take the time to indulge that inner child.”

Uraraka took a moment to digest his words. “I think I understand now.” Then, in a small, hopeful voice: “Maybe... a-after we’re done here, we could... um... get some ice cream?”

Ojiro grinned. “I thought you’d never ask.” He hopped off his swing. “Race ya!”

“Hey, no fair!” Uraraka laughed and chased after him.

After getting their ice cream—strawberry for Uraraka and vanilla for Ojiro—the two friends happily walked back to the dorms together.

“By the way,” Ojiro said, “I never got the chance to tell you, but I saw your coloring book, and well… it looks really good!”

“Oh!” Uraraka looked down, a little embarrassed. “Hah, thanks…”

He could tell she did believe him. “I’m being serious! I think it’s really cool that you’re into that kind of stuff. Have you always liked coloring? You seem to be good at it.”

“Yeah, but I really can’t take much credit. I mean, it’s just filling in the shapes. It’s not like I drew it,” she reasoned, licking her ice cream.

“Hey, I can hardly stay in the lines, so it’s impressive to me.”

Uraraka laughed, knowing he was probably just saying that to make her feel good, but she appreciated it nonetheless.

“Thank you,” she said, speaking as sincere as possible. They had made it back to the common area of the dorms where they stood, waiting to depart to their own rooms. “For everything.”

Ojiro realized she thought he had brought her back here to say goodbye. “Hey, if you want, you can hang in my room.”

“Really?”

“Yeah! We could watch TV, or if you have homework to work on, I won’t bother you.”

She smiled. “I’d love that. Thanks again, Ojiro, you’re the best.” She threw her arms around him in a tight hug. Ojiro was a little taken aback, but quickly returned the gesture.

The two friends sat comfortably on his bed with their backs against the wall. The TV droned on in the background, mostly forgotten, as they chatted about school and their weekend plans.

Once the conversation died out, they settled down to watch what was playing on the screen, falling into comfortable silence. One of the characters poked the other, making them jump back and laugh. Ojiro smiled at the scene and stole a quick glance at Uraraka to see how she was doing, just in time to see her blush a little at the sight. It was so brief, if he hadn’t looked at just the right moment he would’ve missed it.

Suddenly feeling mischievous, Ojiro darted his hands to Uraraka’s sides and began squeezing, making her squeal and fall back on the bed in a fit of happy giggles.

“Ohohjiroho! Eeeep! Whaha—Why? Hahaha!”

“Because! I wanna hear you laugh! Didn’t I tell you to start letting loose?”

Uraraka was too weak and giddy to respond or do much more than weakly bat his hands in a half-hearted attempt.

Ojiro made the mistake of coming closer to get better purchase on her ribs, and Uraraka pushed through the tickly feeling just enough to be able to reach a hand up and scratch at the base of his spine, making him yelp and jerk away. This gave Uraraka just enough time to gain the upper hand by pushing him down and straddling his waist with her knees.

“Uraraka, wa-HAHAHAIT!” he burst into loud belly laughter as she began kneading up and down his torso the same way he had done to her.

“Maybe you should start taking your own advice, Ojiro!” she laughed with him. “Come on, you shouldn’t be afraid of being a kid again, right? Tickle tickle!”

This made his cheeks turn bright red and his laugh go a few pitches higher.

Uraraka was feeling all-powerful with Ojiro now at her mercy. That was, until she felt a soft, feathery feeling against her neck and under her chin, making her flinch and snort.

“Ohohoh my gohohosh, you snohorted!” Ojrio teased through his own laughter.

“N-no fahahair!” Uraraka stammered out as best she could. “You shohouldn’t be allowed t-to use your tahahail!”

“Wehehell too bahad! I’m using it!”

The two stayed like that, trying to out-tickle each other—Uraraka going at his ribs and belly, and Ojiro trying his best to throw her off using his tail to brush all over her neck and sides, both laughing hysterically. Eventually Uraraka was weakened just enough for Ojiro to get her back one last time before they both collapsed in exhaustion.

“Jeez, you don’t give up easy, do you?” Uraraka panted, a big smile still on her face.

“No,” Ojiro agreed. “But you held out pretty long too, I’m impressed.”

After finally catching their breath, Uraraka opened her arms in offering. “Cuddles?”

Ojiro couldn’t have refused the offer if he tried. “Heh. Yeah, cuddles.”

He scooted closer and wrapped his arms around her torso, leaning his head into her shoulder. She wrapped her arms around him in return, resting her head atop his.

And there they stayed for the rest of the evening.

Season 2 Shenanigans

AHEYYY sO I went on a giant Knight Rider binge the last few days, and I've FINALLY seen all of Season 2!! Big thank you to @trust-doesnt-oxidize who watched with me and stayed up absurdly late because I wanted to see Garthe before I went to bed AIDBWJFNEM

I just wanted to post a quick reaction to all of the episodes, spoiler warning activated!

Goliath Parts 1 & 2

I LOVE MY DOOFY VILLAIN SON. K.I.T.T. is HILARIOUS, I love his dynamic with Goliath, as is evident by my handle oops- I hate how Season 2 starts with my son almost dying tho, almost had a heart attack tyvm! This is back before I knew anything about the direction of the rest of the series so I was legitimately in shock lmbo- Moustache Michael is a gem tho I love him. I SURE HOPE HE STAYS A DUMB VILLAIN WHO'S JUST REALLY SILLY TO WATCH. SURE HOPE THEY DON'T TAKE HIM TOO SERIOUSLY.

Brother's Keeper - Blind Spot

I- forgot that these episodes existed until I looked at the episode list for this, soooo...

I should really not be lazy and look up an episode summary and try to remember what I thought of these but the problem is that I am in fact going to be lazy because this post is already taking so long

Return to Cadiz

This episode is so,,, frustrating. Not the plot or the format or anything like that, nono... I mean how they essentially introduced April. Like, okay, I know that she has been here since the beginning of Season 2, but she hadn’t really said much up until now. This was where we really got to know who she would be, and, uh... After this episode, I absolutely hated her. Despised even. She forces my son to go drive on the same ocean on the same beach where Karr DIED without any testing beforehand AND is chastising Michael in a flirtatious way. The heCK is this woman?! WHERE’S MY BONNIE???!!! I was so mad at her you guys I. But the thing is, I don’t hate April, not by a long shot. In some ways, the rest of Season 2 does a better job giving her a character than all of Season 1 did for Bonnie! I really enjoyed April and wish that both could have stayed. BUT THIS EPISODE makes her SO HATEABLE and I just ugh.

also I tried to watch this a long time before I got to and after seeing the intro and not knowing the title of K.I.T.T. vs. K.A.R.R. at that point in time, I thought Karr was gonna come back based on all the panoramic shots of the underwater and I am so sad that he didn’t so oops this episode gets my wrath a bit

K.I.T.T. the Cat

Seriously tho this episode was a pretty run of the mill episode. The best part of the episode was Kitt, because it always is, but seriously that guy with the hedges was amazing- I GOT THE GAG BY THE THIRD TIME IT HAPPENED BUT THE FIRST TIME HE GOT STUCK IN THE TREE OH MY GOSH I WAS DY I N G- Also the fact that Kitt messed him up again trying to apologize is so sad yet funny ahosihdfiohasdf

Custom K.I.T.T.

APRIL GET THAT STUPID DECAL OFF HIM OH MY G O S H-

Somehow her 2-d design ideas looked almost worse than the actual thing and I thought the actual thing looked like a that default sticker decal that you get on a Hotwheels car. I’msorryI’mnottryingtoroastanyartistsIjust I why there’s so much potential with giving Kitt decals :(

Seriously I want to use my drawing software to draw fire on Kitt at some point because it could be done so cool and that ain’t it chief. This ep was so WEIRD at times oh my gosh. What was that series of insults the two ladies spat at each other? Like the one just complimented her eyeshadow aggressively and the other one accused her of wearing “training bras” or something like whAT EXCU S E ME What is this episode?! Kitt was so upset about the decal too :[

Soul Survivor

OH MY GOSH IT’S CUTE IT’S SO CUTE YOU GUYS-

I was recalling @knight-rider-fan-2000‘s theory about this episode (plz go check them out btw aaaa), and after watching it I totally agree. Michael was especially kind in this episode, and he seems to be overall a more supportive mentor for Kitt this season, starting with Soul Survivor and being pretty consistent throughout. I love their new dynamic so much- There’s definitely still episodes and moments where he’s closer to Season 1 Michael, but Season 2 Michael is a far superior human being in my opinion.

KITT’S SO ADORABLE LIL TINY CPU OH MY G O S H YOU’RE TELLING ME OUR SON IS ACTUALLY T H A T SMALL AAAAA

Michael really is so sweet in this oh my gosh, that whole arc where Kitt is his partner no matter what and that the car isn’t what made Kitt-- AW!!!! ADORABLE! Kitt being so unsure that he repeatedly asks Michael how it feels to see the Knight 2000 without him in it or fusses about his limited functionality as Michael patiently reassures him again and again that he’s wanted just the way he is, I just- Feelings.

One thing that hit me as funny though is when Michael finds Kitt’s CPU in the garage and the trash can is just like PULSATING and then he like yells at it like “tAlK tO mE kItT” and Kitt’s jus sitting there as a box of colored lights like “...”

I can just imagine a cut scene where Kitt’s like, “Oh and by the way Michael, if I could have said something I would have done so LONG before you started asking me to. Believe it or not, I don’t like being in a trash can.”

“You Dingaling.”

Also Michael and his whole “I’m an honest man you can trust me listen I’ll give you a small TV just like this one” and then he proceeded to not do that. Hmm.

Anyway, yeah, it doesn’t get any cuter than this. The only thing that would have been better is if Adrianne didn’t exist. Good thing she’s gone now~!

Ring of Fire

THIS IS SO TRIPPY THIS EPISODE IS SO TRIPPY

I would say that I hate Michael trying to get Kitt to subject himself to testing if he can withstand insane levels of heat. I would say that if April did not then walk in and karma the crap out of him. Gosh I loved it. How he immediately was like whAT NOOO YOU WOULDN’T MAKE SOMEONE DO THAT and Kitt’s just like :/

dang hypocrite, Michael my feelings towards you are so complicated sometimes

So. Many. Dogs. I usually love seeing Kitt interact with dogs but this started to get unsettling, I can’t blame him for not loving 6 different dogs all swarming him at once whAT- Have they nothing better to do than to jump on my son. What the heck language were those banjo players singing in? Was it a language or was it just gibberish keyboard spam that accidentally made it to the final script AOSHDIAOHSD

This whole swamp setting is really unique to this episode, and part of me really does commend the chance they took by switching up settings. It’s almost always a small town on desert roads. The way this all happened though was??? What?

I think the scriptwriters forgot that Return to Cadiz exists because Kitt got so much water damage AHSIDHAOISDH- I know April said the system was damaged but surely it would have minimized this a little bit. Also did literally anything change by the end of this episode? We didn’t see the guy get arrested, did we? And the girl decided to stay living out in the swamp forest thing. The only thing is that she, like, conquered her fear or something? Even though she still isn’t acting in that direction?

Knightmares

YOU KNOW WHAT I SAID ABOUT IT NOT GETTING ANY CUTER?

I WAS WRONG.

THIS EPISODE this episode THIS EPISODE. TOP TWO MATERIAL? MORE LIKELY THAN YOU THINK. TDR will always be my fav until the end of time I’m pretty sure because I don’t think another episode will get me to ugly sob like that (aLTHOUGH I AM MEGA HYPE HERE BECAUSE I WATCHED KvK AND IT WAS GOOD ALSO BUT WE’LL GET TO TH A T LATER) but in terms of sheer adorable buddies happiness this is the winner by all accounts. I really like how they portray Michael Long, and I genuinely think the arc here has an impact on the rest of the season in terms of how Michael treats Kitt.

I love how Michael had told Kitt a long time ago how they were partners, like how he used to have a partner when he was a police officer, and how now when Long is so confused about everything everyone is trying to tell him, Kitt chooses this specific word to help introduce himself, and everything feels a bit more grounded for Long. I love how Long immediately revolts against the way Devon and April try to tell him he’s wrong about who he is currently, which is, despite good intentions, the opposite of what he needs. I love how Kitt then swoops in behind him and decides to treat Michael Long like a WHOLE NEW PERSON, one who Kitt tries to get to know. I love how Long recognizes just how hard Kitt is trying and genuinely opens up to him. I love how he never reverts to being mean or rude to Kitt after he gets in the car the second time, NOT EVEN ONE sarcastic comment. How he never calls him a computer again after Kitt asks him not to, how he compliments his new partner left and right, how despite having no clue who Knight is he really wants to be that person for Kitt, because Kitt seems sincere and pretty great. I adore that bit where Kitt gently, lovingly lists traits good and bad about Knight and how Long can finally connect to this other version of himself.

“One more thing about Michael Knight.”

“What’s that?”

“I was extremely fond of him”

I love how Long starts saying “Good work, Kitt” after they complete parts of their mission and how Knight does not stop this for the rest of the season, even after he regains his memory. I love so much about this and could frankly talk about it even more than this but this is a brief summary so. So yeah, we’re moving on ;W;

Silent Knight

It’s funny so. I didn’t realize that Knight Rider had done any Christmas specials. I knew about the Halloween specials, but I didn’t realize the Christmas special existed. And so I was laughing at how funnee I was while I was like “SILENT KNIGHT HOLY KNIGHT ALL IS COME-” and then that’s exactly what the pun was meant to be. they done bamboozled me.

ANYWAY THIS MIGHT BE THE STRANGEST CHRISTMAS SPECIAL TO EVER EXIST EVER.

They kept mentioning the Christmas banquet thing to make it mildly related to the season but then it wasn’t, it really wasn’t, it all revolved around clowns. There was. There was a Santa I guess. Albeit a bank robber Santa--

And the kid is juuust obnoxious at first, I love how Kitt absolutely hates him immediately for some reason even though Kitt usually doesn’t hate people unless they do something really bad, but it feels so deserved because the kid is a jeeerk. Maybe it’s because the kid accused him of endangering human life and that Hurt?

Kid: Just let me drive and I’ll throw away this dumb clock thing

Michael: No

Kitt: YES

Michael: W H A T ?!

Kitt: YES

Michael: ugh whatever

I was kind of expecting Kitt to pull some sort of shenanigans while the kid was driving as payback for whatever he absolutely despised him for, but Kitt was actually just really sweet and gave him a bit of freedom until he started endangering himself and then helped him get back into control. Very wholesome.

AND the end was CUTE though, like the boy who had previously been a jerk going over and patting Kitt and being just sincerely nice to him ;w; wholesome

A Knight in Shining Armor

Gosh I always forget what this episode is about because the title is so loosely related LOL

The dynamic with Michael and the girl of the week was actually really cute and chemistry was not entirely nonexistant, so that’s a nice change from some of these that come out of nowhere. Her arc was actually pretty sweet, how she resented technology because she wanted to be loved and cared about, how she thought computers were incapable of doing that until she talked to Kitt...

And the cave was prebby.

But why couldn’t she understand that her DAD was in PRISON.

“Why didn’t he ever come to see me?” “Because he was in Jail.” “oh. But why didn’t he call???”

Honestly the twist of this episode was really interesting, I still don’t fully get how the baddies’ plan comes together though. So the song plays on the radio and the police go to investigate the drag racers and the crims are IMMEDIATELY ready? okay then.

Radio announcer Kitt tho. That is blessed.

Well ha, joke’s on you episode, you’re getting docked points for only giving Kitt and Becky two interactions. And for making the donor obnoxious for most of the episode (although that end scene was pretty adorable). So, okay, second cutest.

Devon was really sweet this episode, not gonna lie. I’m not sure if I’ve said it on this blog before, but I had strong dislike for Devon after Season 1. I can explain that later if anyone wants, I’d be perfectly willing to compare the two seasons, but Season 2 Devon is pretty alright. He doesn’t have much of a presence, but when he does, he’s kind. I’m assuming he let Becky win at checkers, in which case uh, aW?! Devon that’s cute.

KITT TRYING TO TEACH THE TEN YEAR OLD CHESS AHSIODHOAISD I LOVE YOU BUDDY

Also, I feel like this is the episode April really became her own character, separate from Cadiz. She’d kind of just been a slightly perkier Bonnie, but now we get to see her family, her concerns... And April’s a pretty good character.

OH AND THE WHOLE “Kitt is family” ARC IS THE SWEETEST THING ASHDHAOSDohIAD

Speed Demons

Okay so. This is another one of those episodes where very little seemed to change by the end of the episode. The guy who was actually in danger quit motorcycling anyway soooo... The episode plot itself isn’t what I feel like talking about.

What was WITH that one announcer guy? Were we meant to like him or not??? First he tries to Kick the Kitt and Kitt’s like :/ whatever

and then he comes back and they start to have like, a deep conversation, and he lovingly pats the hood before walking away. And we’re like AWWW OKAY THIS GUY IS NOT TO BAD

AND THEN he asks Kitt to talk for someone and Kitt’s like “...” and the guy riots. Why did Kitt not talk for him and why did the guy go so absolutely bonkers when he didn’t? Were the cameras rolling and I just didn’t realize? And then we kind of hate the guy again because he once again absolutely went ballistic at Kitt. “That’s Showbiz.”

But then the dynamic with that coworker keeps coming up, and yeah, I guess she does seem a bit annoying. But she also seems like a potential lady of the week and a potential protagonist. So when she gets splashed with mud or whatever that was and the guys all like :D

What are we meant to be feeling?

Are we meant to feel bad for her or happy for him?

Because I just felt confused.

Goliath Returns 1 & 2

GOSH DARNIT ADRIANNE IS BACK

ALSO I-I-I I TAKE BACK EVERYTHING I SAID ABOUT YOU BEING A DOOFY AND STUPID VILLAIN JUST P L E A S E STOP ; M ;

SERIOUSLY WHEN DID GARTHE TURN FULL PSYCHOPATH-

THE FEELING I GOT REMINDED ME OF WATCHING THE SHERLOCK FINALE. S H E R L O C K F I N A L E.

Sigh, I should have known he’d gone off the deep end when he walked into a hot tub with jeans on.

I will forever be mad at some versions coughincludingtheoneIwaswatchingoncough for cutting out the fact that Kitt’s microchip was almost ENTIRELY WIPED/OVERWRITTEN AND PUT INTO GOLIATH. Because uh, the way the show cut it up for TV, it seems like Kitt’s really in no danger other than being annoyed. But no, literally everyone almost dies. Fun times!

Seriously why did this convoluted garbage get a two-parter but Kitt vs. Karr didn’t?

This episode makes me sad. Not just because Garthe tried, and almost succeeded, to take away everything we love in this show. Not just because this episode strayed far enough from the typical formula for this to seem like some dystopian nightmare version of Knight Rider. Not just because freaking Adrianne is back.

I mean because I loved Garthe’s character, and this totally changed it. I like that they went into Garthe’s trauma a bit more with this one, but unlike some villains in the Knight Rider canon (okay let’s not play games, UNLIKE KARR-), what he does is so dastardly, SO insaNE, that there is no way to argue that he might be justified. No. No. Garthe, Adrianne, and Goliath are gone now, and that’s how it had to be.

OH ALSO GO O F F APRIL YES QUEEN I LOVE YOU- I honestly felt so bad for her when she turned around and broke down right after standing up to him, like dang, that hurts. And Devon was sweet in this episode too ;w;

Okay but were they planning on making another episode of this? Because that end scene was such an obvious teaser it’s not even funny.

“I hope we don’t run into those very much drowned people out in the streets again, Michael. And I especially hope that they do not construct another semitrailer with the exact same scale and name as the previous one that was driven into the ocean.”

“Yes, I agree Kitt, this is also an anxiety that I possess despite the fact that they are very much definitely Deceased. I sure hope that plot convenience does not interfere in the future.”

A Good Knight's Work

THAT BEAR NEEDS TO DIE. I am so glad Michael ejected the dumb thing at the end, Kitt deserved it. Especially after Michael essentially told him to temporarily kill himself. Michael's a cyberbully now ig. The arc with Kitt and the car salesman was cute. Apparently deactivation is considered programming now? Michael my mans you could have given Kitt any warning at all (I kind of take this back after one of the Season 3 episodes I’ve watched uHHHH this was a lot of warning compared to how Michael rolls in S3 what the heck is wrong with him). Cute episode overall tho I guess. ALSO I JUST NOW REALIZED "A GOOD KNIGHT'S WORK" IS A PUN BECAUSE KITT IS WILTON KNIGHT'S WORK AND I'M MAD AT MYSELF FOR NOT NOTICING IT SOONER-

Mouth of the Snake and that other garbage one that's title makes no sense

David might as well be a plank of wood. A plank of wood that yeets himself ten feet into the air whenever possible, but I digress. Does this count as superpowers? I just love how he offended Kitt 0.1 seconds after meeting him and then Michael proceeded to tell Kitt off for reacting. Love that soooo much. It's also hilarious to me how most of this episode has a similar structure to most Knight Rider episodes and then they randomly start reacreating the Most Dangerous Game--

Let it Be Me

Why isn't this the season finale?! I mean, I'm glad it's not, but why? This is way worse than White Bird like why- I feel like the Stevie episodes are kind of a controversy in this fandom? I loved the first one. This one's just, blegh it's okay. She and Michael still have pretty great chemistry WHEN THEY ARE SPEAKING IN REGULAR SPEECH. I do not like Stevie singing the same song with Michael 100 times. The duet at the end is kind of cute though, sue me I like corny things.

Stevie: I’m so sorry I shouldn’t have been with this one guy but ;m;

Michael: has been with approximately 100 women by now

Big Iron

This episode is kinda wild. Why does the guy manage to have a full out breakup with Lucy in less than one minute? Why is Michael a marriage counselor now? Why couldn't Kitt take the oxygen out of the cabin when Michael was definitely going to die if he didn't? Since when does Turbo Boost use a ton of oxygen anyway? Why does this man just immediately make up with his wife after finding out that she helped him? And most of all, WHY DIDN'T THAT BARTENDER LADY ACT THE LEAST BIT CONCERNED WHEN THEY ABSOLUTELY TORE UP THE PLACE??? Lmbo she's just like "Stop it guys :/"

Alright, so typically for the secret santa I draw something but I’m very excited for the chance this year to write a fanfic. This is for Winter @frankpanioncube who requested an Asgore/Reader fic; as someone who also loves Asgore I’m more than happy to oblige. This is only the first planned chapter of the fic, I’ll make sure to upload the next chapters over the coming days/weeks but in the meantime I wanted the first chapter to feel complete on it’s own. I hope you like it!

And I wanted to give an extra thank-you to @undertalesecretsanta for hosting this event once again, it’s always a fun experience. Thank you so much!

Make Our Garden Grow

It's a nice sunny day, and you look over at the pile of crumpled paper. You have a few talents, you can admit that. This wasn't one of them, and you’re a bit out of your depth here.

Unfortunately as much as you’d rather admit defeat and foist the task onto someone else that wasn’t much of an option; according to your boss there already was a florist who quit with no notice. As her personal secretary (however often that changes depending on who needs more assistance that month) the task fell to you.

It's not that you hate flowers, as some of the more eccentric coworkers assumed when you didn't jump for joy at the opportunity, it's just. You figured when you went to work at the Embassy that you'd get a shot at really getting to help. Even the menial tasks like photocopying documents or filing things or even getting coffee had a demonstrable benefit for the people who actually did Important work for monster-human relations.

This? Designing and arranging bouquets for an office party?

Flowers are alright, even awesome sometimes, but you have a hard time seeing this as really being all that worth it when there are so many other things you were sure needed to get done.

Oh well. It's not like your boss is wrong, this is still a task that needs to be done and you are available.

But that doesn't solve the problem of not knowing what you're doing. You're gonna need some help.

A quick internet search later, past some options that seemed entirely too extravagant and beyond your non-existent skill level, you found a blog that had some fairly simple arrangements. Still a bit out of your league and knowing your tendencies to cut corners, you could go for some advice.

The blogger seemed friendly when you were going through his posts, you could only hope he was just as friendly in direct conversation.

aaaaa: excuse me, i hope i'm not bugging but i'm trying to make a flower arrangement for a party at work and i have no idea what i'm doing, can you give me some advice?

Gar-Dad-ner: Howdy! of course, I'd be more than happy to help!

Wow, fast! This guy (well, probably guy if the username is any indication) sure seems dedicated to this thing. Or maybe he just has a lot of free time? Oh how you wish you could still relate to-there's another message, Focus.

Gar-Dad-ner: A good place to start is knowing what colors you're going to use. you'll find you don't tend to need that many different types of flowers to make a good arrangement. Gar-Dad-ner: If it's an office party this will especially help, in my experience their taste tends to lean to the professional, less fun and colorful side. Gar-Dad-ner: Of course i mean no offense! It's not my personal taste but to each their own!

You had to laugh. The Embassy is actually one of the least oppressive work environments you've been employed at, but even the best workplaces seem to have a minimum requirement for a stifling and overbearing upper caste. Still...

aaaaa: XD aaaaa: honestly, they're not That bad. i think my coworkers can handle a little fun :D

Gar-Dad-ner: That's good to know! Gar-Dad-ner: Well, you could mix in a more obvious flower, especially as a pop to whatever colors you decide to go with. Gar-Dad-ner: I'm rather biased but my favorite flower to add is the Golden Flower. Gar-Dad-ner: Ooh, my favorite arrangement would have to be one made with golden flowers and lavender! Gar-Dad-ner: I never had the chance to work with lavender until recently, it’s quite a gorgeous flower. Gar-Dad-ner: They just seem to work so well together, don’t you think?

A bit much to take in at once but you aren’t about to complain. And that arrangement itself might actually be perfect for what you need; of course a Golden Flower would be a good match for a party celebrating The Embassy's work, far more subtle than your initial disaster-in-waiting plan to use Echo Flowers. Huh, Golden Flowers. Is he a-?

Gar-Dad-ner: Ah, forgive me, I can sometimes get over-excited.

aaaaa: what? dude, no, that's nothing to apologize for! aaaaa: this is already a lot of help, i don't know dick about flowers- *Backspace.* aaaaa: this is already a lot of help, you seem to really know your stuff! aaaaa: if you don't mind is it alright for me to use this design? i can credit you.

Gar-Dad-ner: Oh that won't be necessary, it's quite a simple arrangement and i can hardly claim ownership! I'm honestly just flattered you want my help, and if you'd like I'd be more than happy to give you more advice on it.

aaaaa: deal, but i'm not about to pretend i'm good at this so you're getting all the credit.

This is nice. You still aren’t super into the whole project, but if it means getting to keep talking to this guy who seems like a total sweetheart (ok maybe a little too early to call that, you've talked for maybe 5 minutes max but Still), you think maybe this can be a good experience.

Asgore strode through the halls of The Embassy on his way to yet another meeting, already stressed by the day's events. His assistant, a short blue dragonoid covered in what Asgore assumed was the latest MTT-Brand Perfume based on the thick layer of glitter, traveled alongside and rattled off a report penned by Ambassador Frisk and Co-Ambassador Papyrus he'll need to relay in a few short minutes.

He was trying to listen, it was important for his duty, but he felt like his head was going to explode. His time Underground was filled with more than his fair share of hardships and he was glad to have it be far behind him, but never in that cave did he Ever have to deal with someone So Rude and Stubborn and-

Asgore stopped, his assistant running full-speed into the back of his legs before falling straight back in a rather impressive pratfall and a startled yelp. Asgore paused for a moment before blinking out of his daze.

"Oh no, I am So sorry, Clawdio!" He reached down to help Clawdio up. As he did so, he glanced to the vase of purple and yellow-no, Golden Flowers.

Delicately placed among sprigs of lavender, baby's breath and lemon leaf, carefully selected and arranged. Whoever made this seemed to have put in quite a bit of effort to make something so precious, so perfect it was like it was made for him...

The thought brought a smile to Asgore for the first time that day though he quickly pushed it away. Just a pleasant turn of fate. A nice stroke of luck that he was able to see on this day.

"Erm... Your Majesty?"

"Hmm? Oh! Sorry, Friend. Again. It has... been quite the day."

Asgore looked over Clawdio once more to ensure they were truly unhurt before being shoved back down the hall towards the meeting room he was now dangerously close to being late for. And yet, he couldn't stop smiling even if he tried. His thoughts drifted to the pleasant conversation he had earlier in the week.

"Clawdio, I'm afraid I'm not quite as eloquent as I'd like to be, and if it's not too much to ask I would like you to keep an open ear in case I start veering off topic."

He wondered if he would ever speak to that person again. Asgore had interacted with many people through his gardening web page (how long would it take for him to get used to the word Blog?) and aside from the odd vulgarity they were typically cordial, even friendly. But 'aaaaa,’ whatever their real name was, seemed different. He hoped he wasn't projecting but they seemed to actually Want to talk with him.

They didn't just tolerate when he'd ramble, they encouraged it. They cared enough to want to do a good job and Asgore suspected it had very little to do with an actual interest in the subject and only partly had to do with wanting to fulfill a workplace obligation.

Ah well. There wasn't much he could truly do about it. If they never spoke to him again, if they really were only interested in their job... he'd be a little hurt, of course, but he'd appreciate the time nonetheless.

They stop for real in front of the room where Asgore's next meeting will be. With his smile unwavered he opens the door and walks in.

The rest of Team Stars stand by at base watching in surprise as Kubi dashes in.

Sol: “You..you’re that absol Shade kept talking about?”

Luna: “What are you doing here?”

Myst: “An absolite? We might finally be able to save her with that. It is imbued with the light of Arceus. Uuum, it isn’t like a normal mega stone. Shade’s stone allows her to maintain her mega form outside of battle.”

Swift: “Quickly, hand me the absolite!”

Upon receiving the absolite from Kubi, Swift stares at it carefully until a faint blue ember can be seen burning inside the stone.

Swift. “You’re in luck, it seems the light of Arceus within the stone managed to retain Shade’s soul and it is still burning. Kubi, we can still save her! Thank you so much! Quick, follow us!“

The team leads Kubi around behind the base to a location covered by a tree. A red blanket was laid out with ashes resting on top.

Sol: “Pie had dropped the ashes off earlier saying we should put her to rest, but now…Kubi, you might have just helped us pull off the imppawsible!”

Luna: “She’s right you know. We owe you a lot for getting her absolite back. It can’t be duplicated that easily and so the stone is incredibly valuable, even compared to other mega stones.”

Swift: “Take the mega stone Kubi, come with us! Everyone, grab the ashes! We need to take it to Hantei Hills where the trials are!“

The team and Kubi travel to Hantei Hills which took almost two hours until they finally made it. They arrived at a stone structure blocked by a stone door.

The door had the marking of a mega stone and what appeared to be an arceus engraved upon it.

There was a small indentation in the door that was just large enough for a small orb like object. The team layout the ashes in front of the door.

Luna: “Kubi, you need to place the stone in that slot! You need to hurry! If that soul burns out, then we have no chance left!“

Kubi nods and rushes over to insert the cracked mega stone into the slot. The stone starts to glow a light blue colour and the door begins to light up. A blue light travels from the stone along the lines on the door until eventually the whole door starts to glow in the same colour as the stone.

Moments later, the ashes start to swirl about in the air and a shape begins to form. First the paws, then the body, then wings and finally a head.

The black form keeps swirling around in an unstable shape

Sol: “Quick Kubi, throw the stone into it!“

Kubi yanks the stone out the door causing the light to fade from it and tosses it with his paws at the form in front of them.

As the two collide, a bright blue flame engulfs the form. The ashes set ablaze from the flames continue to burn brightly until an explosive blue wave of fire is sent out causing everyone to fly back.

As they recover their eyesight and gaze back at the spot where the form was, something could be seen.

A white mega absol lay unconscious in its place. She was barely breathing and sweating heavily. Once again, the flames had wrought wrath upon her soul. How much longer could she endure it? Only time will tell…

She had been saved by a heroic absol known as Kubi. Unknown to the others at the time though, those flames were more dangerous than anyone had realized. Nobody had thought anything of them at the time as nobody knew what happened during a revival process. This was the first time any of them had seen it.

The flames had begun to creep closer to Shade’s soul, burning her in a pain unlike any other. Shade would be ok with some rest but trouble was only drawing closer for her.

Swift: “Well done Kubi! You saved our leader’s life! We owe you a great debt for this!“

The team returns Shade to the base and lets her rest in her room.

Sol: “Thanks Kubi, we have Shade back and you’re the one that managed to save her! We’ll tell her what happened in the morning. I hope we can see you again some time. Shade would enjoy you visiting her, she seems to like your company.“

After seeing Kubi off, they all sat next to Shade to look after her. On the outside, she seemed calm and peaceful, but on the inside; a new war was unfolding. Blue flames creeping closer and closer. A memory from a twisted past, a broken soul bound together. Not much time was left, before her past caught up to her. She had to ask Ruin and soon, if she doesn’t, things will take a turn for the worse…

Shade kept trying to snap herself awake but her body was refusing. Eventually she gave up on the idea and hoped she could wake up soon.

A big thanks to @kubidrawings for Kubi rescuing Shade’s life and for @justacuriouslycanroc Ruin who will be dragged into events soon enough~

Finally, thanks also goes to @maple-and-pie for not only killing Shade but for also giving Kubi the key to saving her!

All of you rock! Ps surprise, this just became canon to the main storyline!

Review time: ARTFX J Touko and Tepig!

She’s finally here, eeeee

As usual, picture heavy review under the cut!

As I've mentioned in previous Pokemon figure reviews, Pokemon as a franchise has meant a lot to me from a young age--I tend to credit it with getting me into collecting, too. Pokemon Black and White are some of my favorite titles (tied with RSE); they came out right when I was entering college and setting out on my own journey into the world. I fell in love with the lore and the story in these games moreso than probably any other Pokemon title, and that's still true today.

Touko is one of my top favorite Pokemon protagonists, but I didn't ever expect to get a figure of her. As usual, Kotobukiya proved me wrong!! (between Persona 5 and Pokemon, Koto owns my ass these days haha...)

Anyway, I'll stop rambling and get to the pictures now, which is what you came here for:

Here's how she looks from the front! The sculpting of the fabric and her solid pose all look great.

While Hitoshi Ariga did draw an original illustration to model the figure on, the pose seems to be based on Touko's VS sprite from the game!

I was worried that they'd go for a cutesy pose like with May or Serena, but they really brought out Touko's tomboyish side, and I'm thankful for that!

A straight-on view--or is it a side view? In particular, I'm a fan of the loose fit of her shirt. (As someone who cosplayed Touko with a loose white tank, I feel validated haha). They also did a pretty good job with her jean shorts; they look like real jeans instead of something more skintight.

Here's a sort of back view--you can see the full volume of her hair here. It's very big! You can also see the shiny finish of the bag, which I thought was a nice touch.

I like this angle a lot too! (I'm not one to comment on lady butts usually, but let's just say Koto did a good job)

Another sort of back/side view. Her hair does look a little awkward from the side, haha.

Close in on her face. The expression is perfect!

Close-up on her hand--I'm impressed that they managed to give her shiny fingernails.

The painting on her hat is a little uneven, but they got the colors just right!

Another closeup shot. It can be hard to get a good shot of her face, so I'll have to keep coming up with new angles to try.

Closeup on the detail in her shorts. To be honest, this is the one detail I didn't really like--I would have preferred they left the "wings" flat instead of texturing them. But then again--I interpret them as pockets, while many people interpret them as fringe. I wonder what they're supposed to be?

Another closeup, this time of the folds of her shirt. The metallic paint on her jeans button was a nice touch too.

I couldn't get my camera to focus on the bag or Xtransciever details, so this is what I have haha... Both of them look great, though! The shiny paint on the bag is such a nice touch (even though mine has a scuff...)

Koto left no stone unturned when it came to details - you can see her shirt peeking through beneath her vest, and the vest pockets have great volume.

I also really like how the shirt doesn't quite lie flat in the back, either--there's a little bit of space between the shirt and shorts.

Another point of interest--the backs of her knees are quite nice. Touko has great legs

A couple shots of her shoes. They look a little like Pez candy haha... I would've preferred a more natural shape for her shoes, but they'll do.

I didn't get a picture of it (or rather, the one I did take met an unfortunate end) but her base actually came with a scuff on it already... that was a little disappointing, but luckily it's hard to see at a distance.

Here's a couple closeups of Tepig! To be honest, not the Pokemon I would've gone with haha... (I started with Oshawott). The shading decals in its eyes look a little off, too. I may end up keeping it in storage, haha...

Unlike the Mudkip that came with May, Tepig came attached to the flames that hold it up.

From a high angle, she looks pretty ominous--but also ready to kick butt!!

Low angles are pretty good too! I can't wait to do a real shoot with her, aaaaa

.... aaand from here on the rest of my pictures are a little rushed, because my camera only imported half of the shoot, and then I deleted everything on its memory without realizing..... what a nightmare o-|-<

Here she is next to May from the same line! Ahh, having my heroes in figure form feels great... the two of them are roughly the same scale, so they look great together too!

The contrast between the two designs is pretty clear here too--May is kind of a twig, while Touko is a little more muscular.

I can pose them having a battle! For some reason, putting this shot together was extremely satisfying. With this matchup, May would probably win though...

I had to get a shot of my ship together! Even if they're not the same scale...

If you told 2011 me that she would eventually own her OTP in figure form, she would have laughed in your face!! Even if they're not the same scale, this is still kind of a dream come true, haha...

Maybe someday we'll get 1/8 scale N.... a girl can dream...

Comparing heights with Orange Rouge’s 1/8 scale Mikazuki! They both may be 1/8, but the difference in height is pretty substantial.

And now next to my boyfriend's Futaba (Phat Company), who also arrived recently. Futaba is 1/7 scale, making her a little taller than Touko. I wonder if Futaba's happy to finally be taller than someone, haha!

Here's where I'm keeping her for now, probably temporarily. What I really need is to reorganize my desk and/or get a display case orz... It's getting way too crowded, and I have still more figures coming. Looks at hands, looks at choices.

Overall, this is a pretty quality figure. I do have some nitpicks, and mine did come with some minor flaws--but honestly, for the chance to have one of my top favorite Pokemon characters in figure form, I’m over the moon haha!

Anyway, I'm definitely glad I bought her. Like with May, I pretty much decided on preordering her the second she was announced haha... And I don't regret it! If you're a fan of Touko but weren't sure whether to add Koto's figure to your collection--imo she's totally worth it!!

Usually this is where I put a figure or two I'm looking forward to from this series/line, but..... I'm still waiting on Dawn, Koto.... when're you gonna announce Dawn............ (Dawn, May, and Touko are my favorite protags; I don't think I'll be buying the other girls in this line haha). I was also kinda hoping they'd make one of Crys, but that'll be a cold day in hell.

My next review will probably come at the end of April/start of May, when awakened Mikazuki comes out... pray for no delays, and also for my wallet. I hope I can get a proper display case and clear some space on my desk before jiji comes home orz

Since you don’t seem to want a polite and civil exchange of opinions on this, and are actually being incredibly rude here (whether you meant for it or not, I don’t know) I hope you won’t mind me keeping this as short as I can. All Might worked in the beginning of the bnha manga as a textbook definition of a deus ex machina, came around, solved an otherwise unsolvable plot point out of the blue bending the laws that had just been established for that universe, and Deku literally (literally) didn’t have to go through any conscious trial, soul-search or any other self-aware journey with the intention of fixing his own problem. All he did was to be heroic and to be quirkless, which for him are circumstances since those are innate traits of his character. And the only singular thing he has is that he’s quirkless, his heroic personality is shared by all of UA (Mina acted in the exact same way in Kirishima’s backstory as he did to save Bakugou, didn’t get any cool op powers out of it)

All Might was supposed to give OfA to Mirio, the literal most heroic character in bnha, a boy who had been working his ass off to become a proper hero since he was a child, but instead he found a quirkless kid and decided that he deserved a chance to become a hero too. I’m not saying that’s not true, or that Deku didn’t deserve it. I’m saying that he didn’t actively or consciously do anything to gain that power. He simply acted in a way true to his self, and that was it.

I’m gonna have to make present to you that the next time I get an ask with that tone in my inbox I’m blocking you without answering. I’m not here to be called an idiot by the first random stranger I find online, if you want a conversation with me all I’m asking is for you to be polite, that’s not too much at all in my opinion.

Bakugou has an inferiority complex from hell and suffers constantly from his own inner turmoil, todoroki has an an abusive father with a horrid childhood, iida's brother/idol was paralyzed and almost killed, shigaraki unknowingly killed his parents as a child, toshinori may still be alive, but all might (the hero) is gone to the world forever,

eri was used and experimented on HER ENTIRE LIFE, believing she was a disease to the world and could only cause suffering. I could go on for pages about the suffering these characters have ALREADY gone through- but that is okay, because the story is better for it. Because we as an audience wouldn't have cared nearly as much for deku's gain of one-for-all, if it wasn't for the trials and turmoil he faced his whole life living as a quirkless child;

Bnha is a positive story, but it does not rely solely on positivity to get by. It is a story about determination; to push back against adversity, to go on even in the face of the unknown or impossible; even if fate itself is against you. It's about climbing your mountains and beyond that, dare I say, beyond plus ultra. It's is not trying to adhere to its genre, it's is trying to be everything the genre could be and more, and as succeeded thus far.

Which is why I can understand the disappointment from the last anon, because solving everything through friendship and "hand holding" has become a norm in this genre specifically- and bnha is anything but quick and easy ways out.

Sorry if this is long, and I really hope you don't take this as an attack against you or your opinion. If that is all bnha is to you, and if that is how you perceive the show, who am I to say you are wrong. But I hope you understand what I have said at least, because you still are a huge inspiration to me as an artist and in this community. Hope the rest of your day goes alright.

Alright, first off, if you don’t want to come off as condescending try and maybe don’t be condescending. I’m nearly sure you didn’t do this consciously, considering how you ended the rant, but going “are we even reading the same story” when you supposedly want a civil exchange of opinions is the worst thing you could do ever. You pretty much said “I don’t wanna disregard your opinion but here is a list of reason why you’re wrong and I’m right”, please next time you mean to keep it civil try and avoid that, because that sounds just as bad as you’d assume.

Second, I thank you for the recap of all the tragic backstories bnha gave us, but my answer was about conclusions to arcs, not beginnings. I literally never once said that bnha is a happy-go-lucky story from start to end, I only said it made an habit of reaching for the best possible conclusion it could ever go for by the end of every arc up until now.

“The story starts off with a weak, defenseless deku being beaten by his once best friend”, sure (aside from the “once best friend”, Deku and Bakugou were never friends to begin with, please do reread the second Kacchan vs Deku for Bakugou’s view on their relationship) that’s how the story starts, and it ends with Deku with the strongest quirk on the planet, mentored by his childhood hero, with a civil and friendly rivalry with his childhood bully, on his way to become the number one hero, happy and loved and respected. “”Bakugou has an inferiority complex from hell and suffers constantly from his own inner turmoil” again, sure, and he could have given in to it and become a villain or let his terrible personality just become worse and worse, every single bad thing happened to him could have made him closer to a bad guy or given him good reasons to go against the heroes, and instead he’s working to become better, is loved and cherished, has friends that will build him up and care for him and risk their lives for him, and is actually in a way healthier place than he was in the beginning. “Todoroki has an an abusive father with a horrid childhood” SURE and now he’s got his mother back, he’s learnt to be the bigger person and put distance between himself and his father to instead use him to reach his own goals, is happy and has friends and, again, he’s supported and loved and is in a way happier place than he was in the beginning. “Toshinori may still be alive, but all might (the hero) is gone to the world forever” yes, and in any other manga the reveal would have brought a whole damn lot of drama and people calling him a fraud and turning against him, but instead that scene is the most heartwarming one in the whole manga, the whole world supporting and loving him and yelling his name to cheer him on

I could go on, but I think I made it pretty clear? Every single arc, be it a character arc or a story arc, starts tragic to end up with the most positive outcome you can have for it. There isn’t one arc that has had a tragic conclusion yet. So is it really that weird for me to think it’s believable and not surprising at all that Eri’s story, for however tragic it might have started as, could also have a happy ending? That this manga never tried to present itself as one in which things can and will turn out for the worse?

I’m not even sure exactly what your incredibly long ask was about, man. What were you trying to prove to me? Which part of the answer I gave were you trying to disprove? You just went on about how sad everyone was at the beginning of the manga as if that proved somehow that Horikoshi isn’t actively working to give everyone the happiest future they could have.

A recap of my answer is: “I personally don’t mind Eri having a fix-it quirk because it fits well in Nighteye’s plot and falls perfectly in line with how every other arc has turned out for the best up until now”

And you came at me with an eight asks long rant that can be summed up in “you’re wrong because people in the beginning of the story were sad”

WELL, Chainsaws do seem to cover many different issues. Mainly the ones which involve somebody needing to be cut the fuck in half. But I dont know if being “In touch” with your aspect was ever really a thing. I mean, when did John become “in touch” with his aspect? He just sorta got the powers and did shit with them. i dont really know what that has to do with it- wait a goddamn second. People always associate the wind aspect with like independence and shit, right? And.. the last thing that happened before John went godtier, was a choice. Given to him by Vriska, who for the first time decided to step back and let him decide what to do on his own. Whether or not she would have owned up to what she said about letting him decide how to fall asleep, he still made the choice and went with it on is own. So maybe that’s got something to do with it.
