Slight frame nearly swimming in too-big clothes that used to belong to Jack, Anne is hunched over the meat on her plate to cut it away from the bone; eats it right off the blade. She’s sat in silence at the table in Spanish Jackie’s, apparently disinterested in the conversation between the two men seated with her.

“Ain’t our problem you an’ Teach ain’t gettin’ along,” she sneers it from beneath the brim of her hat, the first words out of her mouth since Izzy Hands has joined them. Hands is fine, but Anne won’t say the same about his shadow. She has reason to tolerate Jack’s shite, watch his back. None exists for Teach and his endless drama.

“Listen dude,” Jack addresses Izzy in a casual tone. “Rapunzel’s always a hoot, but the partner in crime says “no-can-do”.” That seems to be that until the pair exchange a glance. The silence is brief, yet a wordless discussion clearly passes between them. Whatever it is Anne scoffs and shakes her head, amused.

“Unless of course,” Jack leans forward with his arms folded on the table, shit-eating grin flashing at Izzy, “there was something in it for your ol’ buddies Jack and Anne.”
