hi dogblr!! i’m looking for some border collie breeder recommendations, ideally in the pnw or in arizona. i’m mostly interested in show lines. looking for a beginner sports prospect (disc, dock diving, and rally are the three i’m most interested in but i’m down to try anything) and an all around solid hiking/adventure companion, so i don’t need insane drive or anything. if u have any recs or leads on breeders who may produce dogs fitting somewhere in there can u perhaps toss them my way 👀

#song of the day #I lost track of time even more than I already had and forgot to call an end to Friday #Friday was essentially the same day as Thursday is the thing. song would've been 'Crucible' by Sleigh Bells #same album and all #today-yesterday (Saturday) I slept a lot but in the weirdest chunks and when I was awake mostly I was still pretty out of it #I got to see more FFXIV stuff and hear a little from some friends I've really missed #it was lovely #uh I'm trying to think what else was yesterday-today #the garden work which is why George Strait is today's song #too fuzz-brained to remember anything fancy but there's a handful of songs I could sing drunk & upside-down at the end of the world #'Easy Come Easy Go' and 'Go On' and 'I'd Just As Soon Go' and 'If It's Gonna Rain' and 'If You Can Do Anything Else'#'I Can Still Make Cheyenne' and 'Amarillo By Morning' and 'Ocean Front Property in Arizona'#always love George Strait #I made more cheddar-dill bread! it just finished cooling so that was definitely today #it's a little over-sugared because I wasn't paying attention but still pretty good #I'll be out of dill after the next loaf (until my plants grow a bit more for me. lovely things) so I'm thinking onion & mushroom soup mixes #maybe without cheese? or just with parmesan maybe. Nesting.

Berylline hummingbird / colibrí berilo (Saucerottia beryllina) at Ramsey Canyon Preserve.

I left the crop wide to emphasize how tiny her nest is. It's made of bits of greenish-blue lichen, pliable straw, and spider silk, about the size of a golf ball. This nest is about 30 feet (9m) above ground in a large Arizona sycamore. I was fortunate that other, more accomplished birders were nearby to help me spot it.

This will be my last post for a while. I'm off to Phoenix for a few days to roast in the Valley of the Sun, where temps will be rising to about 115ºF/46ºC while I am there. If I live, new posts will resume soon.

i have these reoccurring dreams that me and my childhood best friend reconnect and start a torrid love affair where we don’t acknowledge our feelings Out Loud but we spend a lot of time together and end our nights in the throes of passion. this is the same friend i stopped being friends with in high school because she said that she’d be creeped out by a girl having a crush on her, which i did at the time. so clearly my mind has moved on!

#it took years but we’ve since…sorta? made up #i never told her the real reason why i broke things off so she was PISSED at me for a long time #but now we occasionally message on facebook and i say hi when i see her parents #she lives in arizona so i don’t ever actually see her in person but she’s just as hot now as she always was #apparently she’ll be back in town in the end of october and i think my brain is running wild with that idea
