Honestly when you're really invested in a character's inner workings you tend to come away with a reading that doesn't gel with most of the fan works other people produce. For one thing there are often several valid but slightly different conclusions to draw from the evidence presented in canon, but also any moderately popular ship is going to have people who don't care about staying IC as much as they care about making the characters do the specific things they like. All of this to say that people rarely write my faves the way I see them, either, and it's like 80% of my motivation to write it my own damn self.

no thats what i mean. like i try not to be super anal about things because thats just not fun and youre doing a disservice to yourself by being so limiting (and thats why i do make so much stuff because it is for me and yk all that bullshit blah blah blah), but sometimes the things i see is just. SOOO far removed, and when its of characters i never see stuff for, its just like. im tired.
