If there's anything you could change about your writing setup what would it be?

Probably not at ALL what you're expecting me to answer with but I'd want better air circulation and more humidity in my current room LOL. I have dry eye syndrome and it gets bad sometimes. Literally my biggest obstacle to writing if not my regular life schedule, which is often obstacle #2.

I already do a bunch of things to protect my eyes and I'd honestly advise anyone to do the same if they notice any issues with their own/these are just good things to do for your eyes in general, as needed:

- Sleep enough. No like really, try to get 8 - 8 1/2 hours as often as you can. Sleep is no joke.

- Adjust the night light on your screen so it filters out a good chunk of the blue light.

- Lower the brightness and use dark modes on literally everything. Get extensions for things that don't have them, especially if you're using them a lot (e.g. I use google docs for fic writing)

- Use a humidifier (in drier environments; this literally ensures that I don't wake up with reddened eyes)

- Use a warm compress on your eyes for 5 mins or so (emphasis on warm, not hot. Be verryyyyy careful not to burn yourself, the skin around your eyes is sensitive).

- Eye gellllllll & eyedrops omg. I'd be dead without them.

- Oh and since I decided to unsolicitedly run in this direction with the ask pls wear sunglasses and sunscreen!!! Even in the winter!!

All of the above is legit a godsent for me and it's been my default for everything since before fic writing because yes I do need all that maintenance for my sensitive lil blue orbs. And they still give me problems anyways. 🙄

I think your interpretations are spot on! The lykos could stand in for any marginalized group in different scenarios. Personally i think im working through some identities things in this fic, but thats just me. Im not trying to make it about one group in particular and there are a lot of possible interpretations!

The foster care/adoption thing will be a big deal and will be emphasized in the coming chapters! Both mc and jimin have been in this system. In particular there are a lot of abandoned lykos babies who end up adopted out and kept away from their culture to the point of making them ashamed of it, and for that i think there are lots of parallels to the situation of native american children in the United States.

I wanted to step a little outside of stereotypes bc i dont see why secondary gender stereotypes should be any different from our gender stereotypes. I dont think protective=possessive/agressivr and nurturing=soft/weak. I think there can be a lot more nuance than that!

It's really hard to investigate and find proof of a suspected disagnosis when one has lived with said suspected diagnosis for years.

Like long enough that half the things that would count as symptoms are just background programs you're used to having. You don't know what they are or why, but you cant find an actual link to click on to deactivate it and free up some goddamn ram (if you were to even think of it)

Like these headaches. I just know if I think about it; yes, I have a headache. You want to know what kind? Where? When?

here's some random and chaotic thoughts and comments I had while watching

spoilers ahead! (kinda long post sns haha)

before I start - I will try to keep an open mind even though I'm kinda meh on the whole premise of the prequel (I still think there's so many more cool concepts that could have been done about the spn universe instead of getting the winchester family again but whatever lol) and I only ever saw the actress playing Mary in Disney's zombies and even her Disney Channel acting wasn't that great so I'm not looking forward to seeing her.....

but again, keeping an open mind (I'll try lol)

first time seeing John and I already know it's gonna take me a while to see anyone but JDM or Matt as John 😂😂 like, I guess I can kinda see it, but I need to get used to it haha

hearing Dean again - I'm immediately even more excited haha it's so weird, because I heard and saw Jensen in other things etc but this is Dean and it's so different

I really like John's actor (don't know names yet sns) he's good - and cute too 👀 -😂😂 we all know what John is going to be later on, but I'm enjoying his character atm 💁🏻‍♀️

so, overall thoughts:

I liked it 😂 like, I genuinely enjoyed it

the vibe was great, it felt different than spn but also familiar, and I liked that

there was a loooot of cheesiness, some lines were were so cringe, but in a good way, and I enjoyed them (at least most lol)

I like the characters - John was great, it took less time than I expected to get used to him as John, and I like him right now - I'm still confused about him knowing about hunting already and clearly liking Mary already but we'll see how they approach this haha

I LOVE Latika as I already mentioned, and I just want to see much more of her, she seems awesome 😍😂

Carlos was kinda whatever for now, everything he said was a bit too over the top and cringe, and he's kinda a stereotype, but he seems fun, and I want to get to know him more before I judge haha

when it comes to Mary... her personality is great and I normally would like her, she's my type of character - but, and I'm gonna repeat this once again: I do not like Mary's actress, she's just not it, maybe it's gonna take me a while to get used to her, for now I just don't see it, I hope she'll grow on me

but even tho Mary's actress is not great, they won me over with Latika, whoever plays her (gotta look her up) is the star for me and I will keep watching for sure 😂😂

and again, I'm hung up on canon, and I can't help but compare the story of John and Mary we saw with this - obviously it's different - or just more - as Dean said at the beginning, but I just hope the major things won't change, because while I can still enjoy it either way, I can get nitpicky lol

so, it wasn't amazing, but I enjoyed it and had fun watching it, and I'm gonna keep watching (if only for Latika lol)
