You were ashamed to admit that instead of fear you felt relief. He’d save you, you know he would. But why’s he just standing there? He’d ignore your pleas at first, letting your relief fade back into fear before moving in and taking the man down. Afterward he’d be cold, telling you how this is why he can’t let you leave. You should’ve trusted him, he’s smarter than you after all! He has experience dealing with bad people. You need him just as much as he needs you. So you’d willingly go back. It wasn’t that bad right? At least you were safe! You’ll never know how Matt anticipated this happening. How that man has been in and out of jail many times for public misdemeanors, and just loves to visit that particular bar. That Matt let you go the night he knew the man would be at the bar.
