The prologue starts with MC saying her dream is to be the bride of her loved one.
We then move to her work place – the hospital she works at as a nurse. She runs into her boyfriend who also works there, Takeshi Aida (who she lives with) and tells him she made onigiri for when he gets back from his late shift. Lately he’s been busy studying, and even last Tuesday they had to postpone their plans cause he had some business. He says they should go somewhere next time they both have time off. MC goes to inspect their shift timetable and takes a photo.
Evidence gathered
Photo of timetable
MC has seen a wedding magazine(?) at their place and is thinking that Takeshi is thinking of proposing sometime soon. They’ve been together for 3 years. She’s thinking about how happy she will be if she marries him.
Sumika Shito who is also a nurse and MC’s friend. Sumika is wondering why MC is so happy but she doesn’t explain (haha) and Sumika remarks that Takeshi is working at other hospitals too and that she’s thinking he’s saving up for a wedding. MC didn’t know about that and thinks about how he’s already so busy but going to those lengths anyway.
Yoichi Tokiwa, a medical intern enters the staffroom. There’s some talk about their patients (I think). Another nurse, Shunsuke Wataya enters also.
He says that last night they’ve admitted a “special patient”. Sumika is guessing if it’s a politician, an actor or… a yakuza? Lol her face:
Shunsuke is basically like yup you got it… MC panics and goes to escape the room when a senior nurse comes in and asks her to be in charge of the VIP patient. And yep, it’s none other than MC’s father.
He is a leader of one of the major yakuza groups, “Ryumon” (literally dragon gate). Next to his bed, is his right hand man and number 2 Ao Okura.
MC's father is in the hospital because he collapsed yesterday, and he laughs saying he thought he died. MC wants him transferred immediately. She left her family 7 years ago, when she went to nursing school because she wants nothing to do with the underworld.
Her father remarks that she’s grown to look like her mother. Kosaku Ichimura, the treating doctor enters.
He’s usually super busy and MC is thinking about how he must have been assigned because Okura demanded the top doctor of the hospital. MC makes an excuse to leave because she doesn’t want Ichimura-sensei and Sumika to find out about her relationship (to her father and the yakuza). As she’s going down the hallway she runs smack into Takeshi who tells her not to push herself too hard. As she watches him go she thinks about how she REALLY doesn’t want him knowing she is a daughter to a yakuza but that would mean lying for her whole life… She then notices a pen on the floor.

Cat shaped pen
She meets Okura at a nearby café wanting to have her father transferred. She tells him about how her mother was a nurse who fell in love with her father when he was admitted as a patient. After MC was born was when her father told her mother about him being a yakuza boss. Then, when MC was 5 years old an accident has left MC’s mother in a coma ever since. MC believes she’s been robbed of a normal life being tied to the underworld and so left it all behind and cut all ties.
Okura asks if that’s all and calls her a “stupid brat” who doesn’t understand the world. He hands her a slip of paper which shows he is transferring. He writes down her father’s contact info on special Ryumon memo pad paper.
Evidence gathered
Memo with father’s phone number
He tells her to visit/contact again before he dies. MC asks what his illness is and he has stage 4 cancer, with an estimated one year left.
MC now back at home is thinking about contacting her friend, Karen Nakano who like her, is a daughter of a yakuza. She runs a club in Ginza. She messages her on TalkTime telling her she wants some advice and that her father has cancer. Karen is shocked, saying he visited the club last week, on February 10th (last Tuesday) with a young guy she hasn’t seen before though remarks that for once he wasn’t smoking. She sends a photo she took at that time. MC looks at the photo and sees someone who looks like Takeshi in the back…

Photo of father and Karen
MC asks Karen about it but Karen says she was quite busy and doesn’t quite remember. That was the Tuesday that MC had plans with Takeshi that fell through. The delivery man comes, delivering a letter for Takeshi with the words “credit company” printed on it (he’s buying stuff on credit).
Evidence gathered
Registered envelope
She notices the place is a bit messy and goes to tidy up.
Evidence gathered
Wedding magazine
Memo (with amounts of money written on it)
Taxi fare receipt
Short term job finding magazine
Slot machine guidebook
MC isn’t sure why he has a guidebook for slot machines. When she sees that he has a magazine advertising short term jobs (and high paying) she thinks he may be saving up for a wedding. But as a whole the items are suspicious and she thinks that Takeshi and her dad might have a connection.
Takeshi then returns home but as MC has been preoccupied she hasn’t made anything to eat. He suggests going out and goes off to get changed when he receives a TalkTime message (he left his phone on the table). MC sees it and her suspicions are confirmed – he’s hiding something big from her and she needs to get to the bottom of it.
Evidence gathered
Photo of Takeshi’s smartphone screen
Takeshi: I’m ready to go.
MC: Before that, there’s something I need to ask.

Note from me: Oh boy, strap yourselves in for this one because it’s a doozy.
It’s been half a month since the incident with Yuu-kun and it’s now August. MC reflects on how it’s been 10 months since she moved into the share house and she’s remembering the faces of the liars she’s slapped so far (LOL). But then she remembers that Cassie advised her that there are 9 liars, and that one of them is dangerous and awful beyond saving.
MC is off to visit Hime-chan, who is finally being discharged next week. She receives a TalkTime from Hime-chan, which reads “zJhjb” which MC thinks is a typo. MC enters Hime-chan’s room, finding her watching a movie. MC asks her about the message she received, and turns out Hime-chan was using spy code, and the message read “come quickly”. Hime-chan is obsessed with spy movies lately and is learning coded language. Hime-chan invites MC to learn along with her and passes her a book on the subject.
Evidence gathered
Code book
When she will be discharged, Hime-chan wishes to go watch “0007” (yes the extra 0), go to a beautician and go to an onsen. Hime-chan confesses that she became “Himeno Reiko” in order to obtain her happiness but obtaining something on the surface alone only results in lying to herself. She has decided that she won’t hurt herself further, because someone who can’t even treasure herself won’t obtain happiness. MC believes that Hime-chan’s smile now is the most beautiful she’s ever seen (on her). MC is relieved that Hime-chan is doing well mentally and physically.
Hime-chan shows MC a website she found while surfing the internet called “victim’s cry”, the contents are strange and disturbing and give off a “real” feeling. MC opens the link she receives from Hime-chan, and it takes her to a blog. It writes – “All contents are fictional and are the products of the author's imagination.”
Reading the contents, MC finds the first story has a weird scenario, but does seem oddly real. The next story title reads “after taking medication, another person is born within me” which stirs something in MC. The contents strongly resembles that article Sumika found (the one called “how to create multiple personalities”). MC suspects the writers for both are one and the same person.
Hime-chan points out one article in particular that stands out the most as being strange. It is dated August 3rd and writes “That morning, I was standing in the kitchen frying karaage. It’s my daughter’s first excursion so I’ve decided to make her beloved karaage for her bento.” The writing makes MC’s skin prickle. Reading further, it details that while riding a bicycle, a traffic collision has left the person in a vegetative state. MC mumbles aloud “No way, this story..” (ㆀ˘・_・˘)
Hime-chan asks if MC is okay, because her face has gone pale white. MC explains that when she was in kindergarten, her mother was involved in a traffic accident on August 3rd which has left her in a coma since. That day, her mother had made her karaage for her excursion lunch. Hime-chan is shocked that it matches the contents of the article exactly. They both out loud, draw the conclusion that this story about a victim, is MC’s mother… Hime-chan further deduces that the person who wrote this is the one who made MC’s mother suffer.
MC murmurs there isn’t enough evidence at the moment but she’ll have to investigate further. Hime-chan offers to help too. Hime-chan declares that because MC was the one who saved her, this time it is Hime-chan’s turn to help out MC and that together, they will definitely expose the culprit. MC is grateful and thanks Hime-chan and takes a screenshot of the blog.
Evidence gathered
Blog screenshot
MC tries to calmly reread the blog contents and realises that perhaps that time when her mother had woken up and said “listen carefully… it’s not… your father… that day… the one who…” *cough* MC guesses that the name of the culprit was likely going to follow.
MC leaves Hime-chan’s room and sees Ichimura-sensei, who questions why she has a perplexed expression. When she doesn’t answer right away he guesses it must be due to work being hectic lately and understands she must be tired. He offers to help her if there’s anything she needs. MC reflects on how when her mother was admitted to the hospital, Ichimura-sensei was a 25 year old medical intern. Back then, he had also been kindly looking out for MC. Ichimura-sensei asks MC to go to the staffroom to collect a copy of Himeno-san’s (Hime-chan’s) discharge paper. He tasks MC with it, since he will be out tomorrow. He continues with that he knows that Himeno-san is MC’s good friend, so seeing her get better makes him happy too.
MC thinks to herself that he has a lot of charm, as a person and as a man. He asks if MC has time tomorrow night, would she like to join him for a meal together as he has something he wants to give her. MC is happy because she feels she’s been invited on a date. She accepts. She feels relaxed and her anxiety disappearing when she is with him. She feels that if she were to marry him then she would likely be very happy.
That night, she has a dream about the time she was a child. MC is asking her mother for karaage in her bento, and she obliges by putting two big pieces in her lunch. Her mother tells her to have fun on her trip and be careful. When MC opens her bento to have her lunch was the moment the hospital contacted her kindergarten teacher (to deliver the bad news..). MC is now in the hospital asking her mother why she won’t wake up, and where it hurts. Then, she feels a presence behind her.
??: This is what you get for rejecting me. Now, you must suffer.
MC wakes with a start, heart pounding. She believes the dream was a result from reading the blog earlier. She goes to get a drink of water to calm down. In the living room, she finds Okura sitting on the sofa drinking whiskey. She finds it strange since when he’s in the share house he basically spends all his time in his own room. She declares she will also have a drink to aid sleep and he rebuts with “kids should just go straight to bed.”
MC replies that she is an adult and feels like having a highball, she takes his whiskey and mixes it with some soda water. With Okura’s “do as you wish”, MC feels that he accepts her as she is. In the past, she felt the quiet and unexpressive him was hard to get along with but now his quietness at times like this comforts her.
MC asks Okura when he joined the Ryumon gang but his response is “why do you want to know that” and she wonders what he did before then. He replies that it has nothing to do with her. He asks what’s wrong, because she wouldn’t get up in the middle of the night otherwise. MC admits she dreamt of the past and recounts part of the dream before she starts shaking. He asks MC to put out her hand, and place a pink strawberry milk candy into it, telling her to have it and stop crying. MC exclaims that she’s not a kid and that she’s not even crying. They both continue drinking and chatting and one hour later MC starts to get sleepy. MC thanks Okura for keeping her company but she stumbles when she gets up, so he supports her and admonishes her because she’s had too much.
He helps her to her room and she thinks about how strong he is, and how tall he’s gotten. MC inwardly criticises herself, that she must be quite drunk if thinking about Okura like this makes her heart race. When they both accidentally meet eyes, they look away. MC insists she can reach her room by herself but he just continues helping her. He tells her he’ll still be up, so if she has another bad dream she can go find him. MC crawls back into bed, and asks her mother to continue watching her from above.
DOUBT 9 suspects
Ichimura-sensei
Okura
6am the next morning, MC is awake and up bright and early, thanks to Okura preventing any bad dreams. She finds him in the living room, and asks why he has a suitcase out. He’s leaving. MC is shocked that he is moving out without saying anything to anyone. His response is that it is too troublesome looking after MC and everyone. MC presses him as to whether there’s more to it than that but again, he replies that it’s none of her business. MC voices aloud that she just thought they were starting to get closer but he interrupts, pointing out that she’s mistaken and that he didn’t move in to get closer to her. When she questions why he came then, his answer is to fulfil his duty. MC guesses aloud that he means he came on her father’s orders but he remains silent. He turns to leave and MC grabs his sleeve, telling him to wait and not to go. MC is shocked to see a rare surprised look on his face and apologises, because the words came out because she felt he was going far away somewhere. Okura reproaches her for suddenly “making a womanly expression” and takes something from his pocket, holding it to MC’s face.
Evidence gathered
Omamori from Okura
He voices for her to keep it on her always and gives one final “see ya, kid.” He ruffles her hair and leaves. Karen comes in, having just returned from work and remarks that she saw Okura leave with a suitcase, wondering if he’s going on a trip. MC explains and Karen complains that it’s hard to understand Okura.
At work, an envelope titled “To MC” is on her desk. Inside is Hime-chan’s discharge form. MC makes a copy for record keeping.
Evidence gathered
Copy of discharge certificate
She writes a receipt for it, using one of those carbon copy notepads, however she forgets how to write the kanji for “seki” in “shoseki.” She searches it up on her phone and writes it down.
After work, MC meets Ichimura-sensei at the restaurant he made a reservation at. She’s a little nervous becomes it seems like a fancy restaurant. He is reading a medical text and she praises him for being so studious, and he responds that his career is his life’s worth. Then he comments that it wore out his ex-fiancée. MC is surprised to hear that, and he explains it was a long time ago – back when he was a medical intern and gave work his all, leaving no time for a private life. Because of that his fiancée left him, and got engaged to someone else. Time continued and he got to this age while still being single. MC realises this lines up with the time her mother was admitted to the hospital, and questions him if it’s because of that he had no private life. He denies it, and that it was of his own volition that he wanted to be in charge of her hospital stay. He elaborates that he strives in his work precisely because he wished MC’s mother would wake up again. MC expresses her gratitude.
Ichimura-sensei however, points out that he is also a man, and that her praise would give him expectations. Ichimura-sensei takes out a silver ring from a ring case and explains this is what he wanted to give to MC. He confesses that he adores her and that she probably believes it is sudden but it’s not. From the day he met her he’s always felt that he wanted to support her. MC asks if he means the day she came to the hospital when her mother was admitted. He confirms it, saying something like before he realised it she’s grown up to be beautiful and resolute woman. Though he knows there’s an age gap, he was happy to watch MC and protect her from a distance before but because of the recent events he’s had a change of heart. He wants to protect MC properly with his own hands. He again proclaims he loves MC just the way she is, and asks if she will spend the rest of her life with him. MC is happy about his feelings but can’t answer so quickly or easily.
MC asks for some time to think it over and he asks her to keep the ring, and if she returns his feelings to put it on.
Evidence gathered
Ring from Ichimura-sensei
When MC returns home she thinks about going to her father’s place the next day to ask him about it all, as well as her mother’s accident. Okura’s shoes are no longer in the shoe stand and it again hits her that he’s gone. MC does the usual FindFriend surfing before bed.
Evidence gathered

Photo of father and Okura
The next day, MC goes to see her father. Okura is not around. MC has come to ask her father to tell her more about her mother. He pulls down her mother’s diary to give to her. The last entry is from August 2nd and reads “tomorrow’s the excursion. I hope it’s sunny. I made plenty of karaage which my daughter loves. When I saw her off, I went to visit Isuke (MC’s father) who I hadn’t seen for a while. Tomorrow is our precious anniversary.” MC asks her father about it, and he explains August 3rd is the day they met, and is their anniversary date. It was when Sayuri (MC’s mother) was on her way to meet him that the accident occurred. He elaborates that the first one to find Sayuri at the accident was Okura, he had just happened to be passing by, found her and then called the ambulance. She didn’t wake up again when she was brought to the hospital and when the staff gave up on her, Ichimura-sensei was the only one who kept going without giving up. From then until now, he has been the doctor in charge of Sayuri.
MC questions her father if Okura joined Ryumon gang since that incident, but he denies it, as Okura joined 10 years after that. MC’s father doesn’t know anything about his past but as he said before, he trusts him deeply from the bottom of his heart. He admits that Okura is mysterious but should MC’s father die, then he feels relieved to leave the Ryumon gang in the care of MC and Okura. He invites MC to visit Sayuri’s grave with him, because today is the anniversary.
At the grave, MC’s father loudly declares “Sayuri, we’ve arrived!” and MC berates him for yelling lol. He’s not fazed, and insists Sayuri would be smiling now.
MC puts her hands together and pays her respects. Noticing the date on the grave which says “August 3rd 19XX” MC is again reminded that August 3rd is their anniversary date. With her father’s permission, MC takes a photo.

Photo of mother’s grave
She considers how even though her father and mother went through a lot of difficulties, they loved each other dearly until the end. MC recounts Ichimura-sensei’s proposal to her to her father. He is overjoyed and exclaims he has no regrets but she warns him not to get ahead of himself as she hasn’t yet decided. He queries if MC has any other man she is interested in. Okura’s face floats into her mind, but she thinks it’s awful she’s thinking of two men. As if her father can read her thoughts, he proclaims that she can love as many men as she likes lol and that she should test them until she finds the one man who is right for her. He continues with “love is a war, those that win survive and those are the rules of this world!” MC believes it’s so like her gang leader father to think that way. Her father explains that him choosing Sayuri and being blessed with the treasure that is MC makes him the happiest man. Again, he tells her to pick the partner that will make her happy.
Back at the share house, Karen and MC are in MC’s room and she recounts the proposal. While Karen is looking at the ring MC also confesses her new awareness of Okura to which Karen replies that MC is finally being honest with her feelings. Karen points out there is a message inscribed within the ring and asks MC what it means. However, MC doesn’t understand Latin. Karen searches it up and it means “Flowers bloom towards the everlasting future, without ever wilting” and Karen gushes that Ichimura-sensei is a romantic. Karen advises MC to be true to her heart and make the choice that she won’t regret.
MC is flicking through her mother’s diary and finds an entry that reads “Ryumon gang’s enemy group are starting to move. I need to take precautions.” That was July 22nd. On a different entry, “On the way home shopping with my daughter, I feel like someone is following me.” That entry was July 30th, 4 days before the accident. MC suspects it could be the person who targeted her mother. She tries to go on the blog again, but now it reads “this website cannot be accessed.”
MC receives a TalkTime message from her father, who is wondering if MC has seen Okura, as he cannot get in contact with him. MC hasn’t though. MC then receives a call from Hime-chan who screams “HELP ME MC! I’M GOING TO BE KILLED!!”
Boy, that large text SCARED me.
Hime-chan quickly explains she knows the culprit, and that their name is –
And just like that MC hears the sound of paper being ripped and one last “AHH!! HEL-” before the phone beeps out. MC extremely worried, rushes like the wind to the hospital. MC hurries to Hime-chan’s room and on the way, sees Okura standing in front of the emergency exit.
MC arrives but the door to Hime-chan’s room is locked. She desperately yells for her to answer. Pressing her ear to the door she hears some rustling, and believes someone is inside. Sumika arrives, hearing the ruckus and MC pleads her to go get the key and she rushes off. By the time Sumika returns MC no longer feels the presence of someone inside. They turn the key but the door won’t open. They both work together and force it open and find a rope wrapped around Hime-chan’s neck which was tied to the door, hence why it couldn’t be opened. Not only that, there are countless cuts on Hime-chan’s wrist, which is bleeding profusely. MC checks Hime-chan is still breathing (thankfully she is) and calls the staffroom. Ichimura-sensei answers.
MC asks him to come assist. He arrives and delegates Sumika to stop the bleeding at the wrist, and asks MC to help carry Hime-chan to the floor after releasing the rope. MC also notices other scratch marks on Hime-chan’s neck. MC also notes that Ichimura-sensei has a bandaid on his right hand. MC is tasked to call for back up to move Hime-chan to the ICU and as she runs out of the room she thinks she sees someone who looks like Okura leaving.
Once Hime-chan is safely at the ICU, MC is back at Hime-chan’s original room, thanking Sumika for her help. Sumika can’t believe Hime-chan would be trying to commit suicide which MC vehemently denies but Sumika points to the suicide note left on the desk. She advises MC not to disturb the items since the police are probably coming, and takes her leave. MC can’t believe Hime-chan would do such a thing since she was looking forward so much to being discharged. MC finds Hime-chan’s fake nails, which would explain the scratch marks on her. She looks at the other items on her desk.
Evidence gathered
Torn memo
Hime-chan’s suicide note
Black glove
Kitchen knife
Omamori on the PC
Hime-chan’s TalkTime screenshot
MC looks at the ripped memo which looks like nonsense, the only part she can understand is “on the computer.” She recalls how on the phone Hime-chan said “the culprit is” and realises Hime-chan likely solved the culprit for MC’s mother’s accident who then took action against Hime-chan. Since the door was locked, she wonders how they left the room. She notices the window to the balcony is slightly ajar. Looking outside, the balcony isn’t partitioned, so they could have gone to the adjacent room. In front of the emergency exit there’s also a slide for emergency use, which they may have used.
MC visits Hime-chan in the ICU and her sleeping form overlaps with the memory of MC’s mother. MC feels guilty and believes that what happened was her fault, and clasps her clothes. She notices something in her pocket and remember the omamori Okura gave her is in there. Looking at it, she notices a thread is off colour and inspecting closely, finds a small GPS inside with 83 written on it. Sumika appears, expressing MC she understands she is worried but she can’t be seen here. MC explains the circumstances and Sumika states she will go find out who visited Hime-chan yesterday, and the records show that she had one visitor, which was Okura. He also appeared at ICU, saying he wanted to see Hime-chan’s condition but of course was refused. Sumika openly wonders how he knew Hime-chan was in ICU.
MC goes out to the lobby to rest and think, finding Ichimura-sensei. MC queries him about the bandage on his right hand, his reply is that he was scratched by a cat. He advises MC to go home and rest and he will do the same, and that he has instructed staff to contact him if anything changes with Hime-chan’s condition. MC decides to check up on the emergency exit slide before leaving. She finds an old newspaper in there, dated August 4th 19XX with a story detailing how a woman aged 30 was involved in a traffic incident and that at face value, it seemed like an unfortunate accident however shortly before the incident, there were reports of a suspicious man in all black nearby. MC believes that Hime-chan read this article and came to discover who the culprit was, and the real culprit found it and tried to discard it.
MC thinks back to both what happened to her mother, and to Hime-chan as well as the blog. The two people in common from then until now are Okura and Ichimura-sensei and that whoever attacked her mother 20 years ago tried to kill Hime-chan. However, what was written on the blog were incidents involving people other than MC’s mother as well. If such a person really did those things to other people then there is something extremely wrong with them. MC knows that if she doesn’t figure this out then there will be other victims. MC absolutely cannot forgive the person who stole away the futures of her mother and Hime-chan. She once again thinks of the words and actions of the two suspects and realises one piece of evidence that conclusively points at one person. She resolves herself and contacts them.
So who do you think the liar is?

Half a year has passed since Ichimura-sensei was arrested, and peace has finally returned to the hospital. MC comes to visit a still comatose Hime-chan. MC recalls visiting her family home after Ichimura-sensei’s arrest:
MC’s father: I can’t fully believe everything that happened with Ichimura-sensei but I am really relieved that you are okay MC.
MC explains it was thanks to Okura. He says that Okura had come to visit him just before and had resolutely declared he is going after the Hong Kong mafia. MC is shocked and her father confesses that after the incident before, they had come directly to target him. Okura had insisted on going alone and MC’s father had strongly told him not to but was unable to stop him and he believes Okura won’t be returning to the Ryumon gang.
It’s been half a year since then and she hasn’t heard anything from Okura. She can’t believe he gave up his own life in order to secure safety for the gang. MC takes a breath thinking over all the events of the past year when:
MC can’t believe she is awake and hits the “call nurse” button right away. Sumika and a recently returned Wataya-kun come in, asking Hime-chan if she knows where she is etc.
Hime-chan answers “the hospital?” and slowly starts moving her hand and touches her face. She exclaims how bad her skin is and that she needs to get to work on it lol and everyone laughs, relieved that she seems her usual self.
Everyone comes to visit her, and comments on how long it took for her to wake up and Karen jokes that it was hard work coming to visit her every week. Hime-chan wants to hear how everyone spent the half year while she was asleep. Ami, as usual has been working herself to the ground with her career but doesn’t mind as she enjoys it. BUT she reveals that she properly cleans up after herself after that incident and has quit smoking. Kazemiya-kun is now a project leader and as a result, his hobby time has decreased (you know what that means). Karen also, is very busy with work and the business is doing so well that she is in the midst of preparations for opening a second branch.
Hime-chan also asks after Tokiwa-kun, with Kazemiya-kun replying that he has one more year until he’s released and that he recently sent them a letter. He is still studying to become a doctor and MC truly believes he will become a great doctor, even if the path ahead will be difficult. Hime-chan questions about Eitaro’s happenings, with MC responding that he has been travelling around to apologise to his victims which has resulted in charges being dropped against him (UGH seriously??). He’s been travelling and studying to re-evaluate himself. Hime-chan exclaims how she can’t wait to get back to the share house and resume her life and encourages MC to also look and move forward.
After work, MC is on her balcony staring blankly up at the night sky. She realises no one has asked her about Yuu-kun or Okura, perhaps out of consideration. Suddenly, someone appears from behind her, covering her mouth.
Yuu-kun: It’s been a while, MC. I won’t do anything, so please don’t call out. Promise?
MC nods and he lets go.
Yuu-kun apologises for surprising her and that he’s come to apologise. He conveys that he’s sorry for scaring her that time. MC is wary that this is all an act but expresses that she is happy he is okay. He points out that aspect of her makes her naïve but that’s precisely the part of MC he is drawn in by. He smiles a little sadly at her and pats her on the head. He reveals that she can relax, because the Hong Kong mafia will stop targeting the Ryumon gang because so long as someone like Okura is around, they are unable to take action. Hearing his name, MC questions him on what he knows about Okura but Yuu-kun doesn’t know anything. Yuu-kun remarks he doesn’t have any more time now so he has to go, but that next time instead of as the Hong Kong mafia, he wants to appear before MC as Yuki Kamakura. With that, he leaps lightly over the balcony and disappears into the night. MC thinks to herself that it would be good if they could meet again in future.
Unable to sleep, MC goes to get some water. Drinking it on the sofa, she remembers Yuu-kun’s words and wonders just who Okura is if even Yuu-kun has no idea on his whereabouts. She wonders if she will never see Okura again but no matter how many times she voices that in her heart, Okura won’t reply. As she starts to cry, Karen appears asking what’s wrong. MC reveals she is concerned about Okura and wonders why she only thinks of him.
Karen’s reply is that it’s only natural - after all, Okura is MC’s first love. MC is surprised and Karen is unruffled, knowing that MC hadn’t even realised it. Karen points out that MC’s hard work on practice, exams etc. was really just to gain Okura’s acknowledgement but MC denies it, replying that if anything, it was due to her annoyance at him treating/seeing her as a child. Karen retorts that it means MC wanted him to see her as an adult. It’s as if realisation finally hits her, and she sees that she wanted Okura to view the two of them as true equals. Karen asks MC what she thinks of Okura, and she answers that she loves him… maybe (her exact words haha). MC vows that if she were to meet Okura one more time then she will convey these feelings honestly.
3 months later, Hime-chan is discharged and there is a big celebration on the rooftop. MC’s father had declared that until he sees Okura again, he can’t die and has been earnestly looking for him. Cassie whacks MC on the back, telling her not to look so dark at a celebration but MC complains that she saw through the liars yet her fated person is nowhere. Cassie calls her rude for accusing her fortunetelling of being a failure and that her destined partner truly exists and that he will appear soon.
At that time, Haruichi appears on the rooftop lol but he announces he’s brought the late guest. Behind him stands…
Okura: Long time no see, kid.
Everyone is surprised and expresses their concern while he was away and he apologises. Haruichi whispers into MC’s ear that it was extremely hard and tiresome to find him, and that the repayment will be high. Karen pushes MC towards Okura who remarks that he has something to tell MC, whose reply is “what a coincidence, so do I.” Everyone smiles at the two, as they leave the rooftop.
They arrive at a café, bathed in the afternoon sunset. MC questions why he went alone on such a dangerous mission (of chasing the Hong Kong mafia) without saying anything. MC expresses how deeply concerned she was for him, especially because he disappeared suddenly and made zero contact.
He’s silent and looks away. MC further presses – who exactly is he to be able to take down the Hong Kong mafia singlehanded and also always be saving her? She begs him to answer. Okura doesn’t make a single move to respond and her sadness grows stronger, more so than her anger. She reflects that her outburst makes her seem childlike, and they weren’t the true words she wanted to convey anyway. She sighs – “It doesn’t matter what you are, I love you.”
Okura: Wha-? What did you just…
MC continues on, telling him that no matter what secret he has, if he doesn’t want to share it she won’t push. But, she just begs him to not go anywher-
Okura: Damn it.
Okura pulls her by the arm strongly into a hug.
Okura: You don’t even understand how I feel and you just go and say that… You’ve always been like that. I’ve tried desperately to keep my self-control intact and then you go ahead and break it. You have no idea just how much I…
MC feels his strong arms around her, and the warmth in the places that make contact, and the smell of tabacco… The reason he didn’t tell her about the Hong Kong mafia was because he knew MC would launch herself straight in. She can’t deny it. It makes MC happy that he was looking out for her but however,
MC: I don’t want to just be protected. I want to fight together alongside you Okura.
Okura: You really are something, aren’t you. You said you didn’t mind what I was. In that case…
Okura: Are you prepared to go to hell with me?
MC recalls he’s said this before, meaning it seems his future is fated to be dark, and it must have something to do with his secret. Many possibilities swirl in her mind but she’s decided.
MC: If it means I can stay by your side, then the destination doesn’t matter. Whether it’s to hell or wherever, take me with you.
Okura: Don’t forget those words just now.
He slowly closes his eyes and leans closer, giving MC a kiss. Normally he’s quite rough but to kiss so gently, MC thinks it’s unfair. When it was dangerous, he was always the fastest to get to MC, and saved her countless times. Although he can be hard to understand, he is a really kind person at heart. Before she realised it, she was drawn in by him. No, it was probably long before that…
MC opens her eyes mid-kiss, and seeing his red tinged face wonders if it’s due to the sunset. MC complains about his rough facial hair and the scent of tabacco.
Okura: Shut up. Be quiet… and open your mouth.
He makes MC face him and gives her a very strong kiss. She wants to support him no matter what and conveys that through the kiss.
“What does happiness mean to you?”
*Spoken from MC’s point of view*
The me from before, wanted to leave the underworld far behind and live a peaceful life. But, I’m different now. I will live like myself, that’s my happiness.

It’s now June and summer can be felt in the air. They are having their twice annually lecture/ seminar of sorts and Ichimura-sensei is giving the lecture so MC feels that there are more people than usual.
He is giving a lecture on narcotics and amongst other things, he infroms that only authorised people (with licenses) such as himself are able to prescribe them. He also names some illicit drugs such as cocaine and marijuana.
Evidence gathered
Workshop documents
After the lecture MC approaches him and thanks him for his talk. He explains MC’s earnest face while taking notes gave him more passion for his talk.
He knows it’s sudden but wonders if next week, on June 15th if MC would be available to do a 2 day 1 night home visit for a patient living in a village with no doctor with him as an assistant. She’s happy to be given the opportunity, since they are so rare and above all else is happy to have been asked. She does have one condition though and as she is about to explain it he has already guessed it. He promises that on the off chance that her mother wakens then the staff are ordered to contact him and her immediately. When MC returns home, she strangely finds no one there. Eventually Yuu-kun appears, and invites her to join in on playing with fireworks with everyone on the rooftop.
MC finds everyone happily playing with the fireworks up there. Yuu-kun offers one for MC to light, and gives her one he made himself. He knows someone who is good with hemp and other plants. Ami asks “isn’t hemp the same as cannabis?” Karen interjects, explaining something like the hemp plant is but not hemp itself and also talks about THC (Sorry but it gets too complex for me). Yuu-kun comments that Karen knows a lot about hemp. She says she heard it from a customer.
Kazemiya-kun remembers that lately several people have gotten into trouble for possessing marijuana because they mistook it for hemp and Yuu-kun also knows someone who got in trouble for that.
Karen wants to stop such a mood ruining discussion, and reveal that next Saturday she is going to an onsen that’s good for the skin. Ami exclaims she wants to go too but Karen declares it’s a special secret and can’t be shared. Okura has arrived on the rooftop and MC invites him to join in with the fireworks but he declines, proclaiming he doesn’t have the free time to be playing around with kids, but tells MC to come see him after. Kazemiya-kun wants to take a picture of everyone to send to Hime-chan.
The gathering is over and MC is the last one up there. She looks around to check that no one has forgotten anything. She finds a key for 303, which is Yuu-kun’s room. She goes into the house and finds him just standing outside his room and returns the key which he is grateful for. He also reveals he has something to give to MC.
Yuu-kun’s room.
He recounts he found it when he went to a shrine and thought to himself he wanted to give it to MC. He gives her an omamori (charm) and reports that it will protect her from bad luck despite which direction she is facing (hard to translate this – not sure). MC feels that a lot of bad things have been happening lately so she’s grateful for it.
Evidence gathered
Omamori
Actually, he bought a matching pair for himself. MC points out that the omamori also has the Chinese zodiac signs and the four directions written on it, and resembles a clock. Yuu-kun elaborates that it’s 8pm now which converted, is the “hour of the dog.” MC is confused and he explains that long ago China and Japan divided the hours of the day up into the Chinese zodiacs, for example midnight is the hour of the baby rat, 6am is the hour of the kitten (baby rabbit), 2pm is the hour of the lamb, 8pm is the hour of the pup. MC praises him for being knowledgeable. He thanks her but mentions that he doesn’t understand medical terms so he respects MC.
MC had told the house mates on the roof top about her house visit to a patient next week and Yuu-kun is sad because next week he had wanted to invite MC out on a date.
Cute
He asks where she is going and it is Kusatsu village. Yuu-kun also asks if he can go there too. When questioned why, he answers that he wants to take some photos of the volunteer experience. He reassures here that obviously he would not have the patient’s face revealed interfere with their care. MC is unsure but will ask Ichimura-sensei.

Ichimura-sensei
Yuu-kun
Karen
The next day MC goes to see Ichimura-sensei and finds him tending to a plant with red flowers. When she looks closely, she sees that the stem and leaves have bristles. She thinks to herself it looks like the plant in the workshop documents. She asks him about Yuu-kun coming along, and he remembers meeting him the other time he stayed over at the share house. He remarks as long as the patient agrees, he’s happy for Yuu-kun to come.
Once she’s exited his room, she finds that some papers were mixed in with hers. She finds one titled “how to make opium” and wonders if it was for the seminar.

It’s the day of the home visit, and MC is sitting on a train to Kusatsu with Ichimura-sensei on her right, and Yuu-kun to her left. Yuu-kun thanks him for allowing him to tag along. Yuu-kun voices that he might need to go somewhere in the afternoon. He has an acquaintance living in the nearby Yamao village who he wants to go see. MC admires how he seems to know people from all over Japan.
Yuu-kun replies it’s because he’s been to a variety of places for his job. Ichimura-sensei asks him what name he uses when he is working but Yuu-kun replies that it is a secret, as he thinks it is embarrassing for friends or family recognize his work.
Though he promises he will show them the shots he takes on this trip.
After 3 hours, they arrive at Kusatsu station. Yuu-kun points out a map, with a local character on it and MC marvels at the site seeing spots marked on it. She takes a photo for later reference.

Map
Ichimura-sensei remarks that anytime he comes to Kusatsu village the sky is beautiful. Yuu-kun agrees that it seems like a nice quiet place. Yuu-kun also discovers that there’s only one bus per three hours. When Yuu-kun asks if they should take a taxi, Ichimura-sensei answers that there are no taxis in the area and the bus is the only means of transportation. Yuu-kun concludes that they should make sure not to miss their bus then and MC offers to take a photo of the timetable.

On their first visit, they see Ishida-san and his wife who greet them with smiles. His body hurts and he doesn’t have much appetite and is coughing. After the examination, Ichimura-sensei pulls MC aside into a different room, revealing that about 10 years ago, Ichida-san was a marijuana user. Ichimura-sensei believes he is suffering from lung cancer and he requests MC to look after him while Ichimura-sensei consults with the wife. MC reflects on how this is the same cancer her father is suffering from (oops I must have missed that).
When she returns, Yuu-kun is going off to the back garden to take photos of the flowers because Ishida-san had told him they were beautiful. Ishida-san requests MC to bring over the phone book and telephone. However, when she goes to get it she sees some hemp with a letter marking it as “happa” (it means leaf in Japanese, but can mean marijuana). MC believes he is still using it. MC takes a photo of the letter before bringing the items over to Ishida-san.

Letter
Ishida-san reveals he’s got pain all over and before he dies, he wants to go to that “Eden” (might just be what he calls a garden) but it’s difficult because he’s in a lot of pain. MC feels a vibration and Yuu-kun’s phone shows a TalkTime message from Sonoda saying “As promised the 420 is prepared waiting for you.”
Yuu-kun splits from the group while Ichimura-sensei and MC continue on their house visits. They finish at 4pm and Ichimura-sensei tells MC to rest up at the onsen. They see Yuu-kun waiting on the bench for the bus and agree to go to the onsen together. When they board the bus, the one sitting behind MC is none other than:
MC is surprised to see Karen, and Karen is surprised to see MC and Yuu-kun. Ichimura-sensei introduces himself to Karen. When they ask why Karen is there she said that Kusatsu village’s onsen water is good for beautyfing skin and is the reason why she came. MC realizes this is what Karen was referring to the time they were playing with fireworks. Karen realises that the three are on their way there too.
15 minutes later they arrive. Karen: “You’re staying at another building right? So let’s meet up later.” Ichimura-sensei checks in and reveals that he is staying in “spring day” (kasuga) room 301, Yuu-kun in Genji room 302, and MC in “dawn” (ariake) room 303. Dinner is served at 7pm in the other building.
In the lift, Yuu-kun notices the local character and calls it cute and takes a photo of the poster it is on. MC asks him to send her the photo too.

MC arrives in her room and on the table there are some magazines and a map of the place. She notes the baths are on floor B1 and takes a photo.

She gets changed and sets off.
She’s so relaxed she starts singing, but hears someone behind the door so stops. When she goes back inside and greets them, she is surprised to find:
They are both shocked to see each other and MC is worried it’s actually a mixed bath and is freaking out because she is standing there holding(?) only a towel. He looks away, embarrassed and gives her a towel to cover up with. She thinks that he is not even flustered in the slightest, but supposes it’s because they see a lot of anatomy in their jobs. He leaves to let MC get changed.
Afterwards MC is having a popsicle and still embarrassed about the situation. She sees Karen sitting on a bench and offers her a half of her popsicle (the type that splits in half, with two sticks).
Karen states eating it brings back memories, and MC remembers when she was 9 and Karen was 12, Karen had given MC some of her popsicle just like this. They made a pact that no matter what, even though their parents are yakuza they would never get involved in wrongdoings. They pinky promised.
Back in the present Karen asks MC to rely on her no matter what happens from here on out. On her way back to her room, MC receives a TalkTime from Ichimura-sensei. The message reads “about what I asked for, please send it to room 503 at 7pm.” MC believes he sent it to the wrong person.
Evidence gathered
Ichimura-sensei’s TalkTime screenshot
He sends a new message apologizing for the mix up. Though he asks her to go ahead to dinner. He also asks MC to accompany him at the 9pm geisha performance and she’s happy to go. MC exits her room and suddenly sees the door to room 302 opening, and Yuu-kun dashing off somewhere. He was in such a rush he left the door open, so MC goes to close it but glimpses the inside. She sees brown powder scattered about.
Yuu-kun arrives for dinner and sits across MC, and asks where Ichimura-sensei is. MC explains he had some business to take care of but will be here after. Yuu-kun compliments MC, stating she looks cute in her yukata and she reciprocates. Yuu-kun voices that it feels like they are on an onsen trip together (just the two of them). MC says they will be done with their home visits during the next morning and Yuu-kun proposes going sightseeing around the town in the afternoon. He reveals that he has something important to tell her, and she needs to keep it a secret from Ichimura-sensei.
Back in her room she splays out on her futon and thinks about how Ichimura-sensei didn’t come to dinner in the end. MC bides time waiting for him by surfing FindFriend.

MC goes out to meet Ichimura-sensei. When MC enters the dining hall she sees none other than:
She is seriously surprised, but when she looks around she sees the rest of the yakuza gang. She also spots Karen and Okura. Karen recounts to MC that when she was walking through the hallway of the main building she just happened to bump into MC’s father. MC pulls Okura aside asking what this is all about. He answers that the onsen here is meant to be good for those with cancer. MC wants to know why it couldn’t just be Okura accompanying him rather than the whole gang and he replies it’s a relaxation trip lol. MC is trying to think of a way to do something before Ichimura-sensei comes but just then he arrives, as well as Yuu-kun.
MC’s father invites Ichimura-sensei to sit with him and she is surprised to see that they know each other. When he addresses MC as his daughter and MC accidentally calls him her father Yuu-kun is shocked to hear that he is her father. MC is upset that it’s been revealed and makes to go back to her room but just then one of the underlings rushes in, saying a suspicious person has come in.
In pops:
Who Okura recognises as Kurosu from the Toranomon gang (lit. “tiger’s gate”). They are the rivals of Ryumon. The underling points out Kurosu is wearing a fake Ryumon badge and is carrying a large amount of marijuana. Some gunshots are fired and Toranomon underlings come to back Kurosu up. In an instant about 20 men enter and they declare their target is MC’s father. He exclaims that’s rather rude, and he isn’t going to die until he sees MC get married. Karen warns MC’s father to take it easy though, and he appreciates it and asks her to get behind him and commands Okura “you know what to do” and a second round of gunshots starts as MC is pulled away from the scene.
Okura has taken her out of harm’s way but MC is concerned about Ichimura-sensei and Yuu-kun. An underling has brought the two over to MC safely and Ichimura-sensei remarks that he never thought he’d see the day he’d seen a gun battle in real life. Yuu-kun comments that Okura was so cool, protecting MC. MC is baffled by their nonchalance. MC is a little worried about Karen, but knowing she is the daughter of yakuza (someone of a high-ish tier?) she will be protected. She apologises for Ichimura-sensei and Yuu-kun getting involved. Both rebut that it is not MC’s fault but suddenly Yuu-kun yells out “watch out MC!”
She turns around to see a man from Toranomon pointing a gun at her. She hears a bam! And it’s Yuu-kun, who pushed the man to the floor. She thanks him and he criticises the man for pointing a gun at a woman. Yuu-kun confesses his body moved on its own, to protect MC. MC sees a memo that fell on the floor.
Evidence gathered
Memo dropped by Toranomon
Ichimura-sensei encourages MC to stay safe behind him but she hesitates because he is a highly respected and needed doctor. He reassures her it is the senior’s duty to protect a subordinate. About 10 mins later it looks like it is over, with Ryumon unscathed and Toranomon all fleeing but Kurosu still remains. Okura demands to know who the marijuana is for and Kurosu feigns ignorance. The Ryumon underling speaks up, revealing that he saw Kurosu loitering about the main building at 8pm. Kurosu remains silent. They drag him off to a room for questioning while MC’s father apologises for the uproar to MC.
Karen is relieved to see MC unharmed and MC too, thanks Karen for being by her father’s side. Karen figures that if she (a woman) stays by MC’s father’s side it’s hard for Toranomon to get close and MC admires Karen’s smarts and thanks her again.
MC returns to her room and reflects on how her yakuza affiliation secret is now known by Ichimura-sensei and Yuu-kun. Suddenly a suspicion rises in her mind, the underling had said that “no one other than us is staying here” and in other words, the only ones staying in the ryokan are MC, Ryumon gang, Ichimura-sensei, Yuu-kun and Karen and therefore one of them has to be the marijuana recipient. However, if it was someone from the Ryumon gang, Okura would know about it and MC deduces it must then be Ichimura-sensei, Yuu-kun or Karen. She thinks back on the actions of the three and all had times where they mysteriously went off. When she goes through it again, she realises there is one person who had the potential to receive the drugs. She can’t believe this person has been soiling their hands with drugs and will never forgive them. She calls them to her room.
So who do you think the liar is?

Doubt Season 4 (Liar! Dark lies) 9th Liar Accusation translation - The true identity of the god of death who was always beside me
Words: 2210 (the longest accusation)
Reading time: 8 minutes

★ reblogging okay
If you enjoyed reading, please consider liking and/or reblogging to spread to other fans.
Note from me (cause I want to and cause I can lolol): Weirdly this was the easiest liar chapter to pick the liar of all of them (though 3, 5 and 6 were easy too). For me there were 3 giveaways. The first was the ring with the exact same date as the grave – though I know it could’ve just been a red herring but from here you could basically piece the rest of the story. But as a side note why did they insist on blacking out the year as 19XX when the date is on the ring and grave? Do they think people don’t know roman numerals lol. Secondly, why would Hime-chan sign her suicide note with her real name? If you look closely you will realise the “shinimasu” (I will die) is written EXACTLY the same as characters from her signed discharge form (and therefore copied). And lastly, the big one(!!) was once you figured out the code on the blog it was all over. The code was that you had to look at the Japanese (hiragana) keyboard (google an image). So for example Q is た (ta). Doing that for each of the Japanese characters will spell out the message with English letters and the very last line spells out exactly… Ichimura Kosaku. Game over. (Also voltage was daring and wrote the author’s initials as KI on the side lol). How’d you guys go?
---------------------------- ---------------------------- ---------------------------- --------------------
DOUBT PART
MC arrives at Ichimura-sensei’s office and declares that she rejects his proposal, he replies that’s unfortunate. She explains she cannot possibly marry someone who selfishly steals the life of others.
MC: You were the one who tried to strangle Hime-chan right?
Ichimura-sensei: Me..? I understand how you feel about the situation but you know about her suicide note right?
MC: That suicide note… it was actually written by you though, wasn’t it?
Prove the note was forged by Ichimura-sensei
Copy of discharge certificate
MC: These papers have Hime-chan’s signature of authorisation, if you join the letters she wrote here you can make “I will die/I’m going to commit suicide.” (He has used the にandします to makeしにますwhich means ‘I will die.’)
Ichimura-sensei: Hmm.. how would you do that?
MC: It’s simple. If you use the carbon copy paper that’s under the discharge paper booklet, you can then put it on top of the suicide note. Then, you just simply trace it.
Ichimura-sensei: I see.
MC: Hime-chan would never use her real name of “Nobu Toyama” yet her suicide note is signed with it. That’s because, that’s the name she signed her discharge papers with and the only thing you could copy right?
Ichimura-sensei: I agree with your theory but the one who fabricated that wasn’t me. In truth, I don’t know who it was but someone has stolen the original discharge paper booklet.
MC: You are the only one who could have left this note in Hime-chan’s room.
MC pulls out the black glove.
MC: This was found in the room and belongs to you, doesn’t it?
Ichimura-sensei: No, and those kinds of gloves are sold anywhere.
Prove that the glove belongs to Ichimura-sensei
Photo of the hospital director
MC: I found this on the hospital director’s FindFriend. These gloves are for those who achieve a hole in one right?
Ichimura-sensei: Seems that way. It’s possible that this glove was stolen too though.
MC: There’s blood on this glove. You wore this glove and then attacked Hime-chan, didn’t you?
Ichimura-sensei: I understand the doubts you must be having but I have no reason to kill Hime-chan.
MC: Yes you do! *pulls out torn memo* This paper that was in her room, it would’ve had the name of the culprit who tried to kill my mother.
Ichimura-sensei: Don’t tell me, you’re going to say that person is me?
MC pulls out the blog “victim’s cry”.
MC: The site has been deleted but the events of the day of my mother’s accident were written here from her point of view. The one who authored this… is you, isn’t it?!
What do you point out on the site to make him admit he is the author?
A. Category
B. Profile
C. The article contents
Answer: C
MC: Look here, at the end there are some nonsensical letters.
Ichimura-sensei: There doesn’t appear to be any meaning behind it. Isn’t it just some typos?
MC: No, it’s actually a cipher!
Ichimura-sensei: If that’s the case, then I wonder what on earth it means. Please, do decipher it for me.
What do you use to crack the code?
Hime-chan’s TalkTime screenshot
Ichimura-sensei: Himeno-san’s TalkTime? What about it?
MC: What I want you to look at is the keyboard in front of it. If you use it and look at the alphabet that corresponds to each hiragana character you get…
“I will continue loving you”…
Ichimura-sensei: ..Stop.
MC: “Even if I fall to hell”
…
“Ichimura Kosaku”
(Note from me again: Wasn’t that too much of a giveaway? The other seasons 9th liars were more difficult lol)
Ichimura-sensei: SHUT UP!!
He takes a deep breath to quell his rising anger.
Ichimura-sensei: I haven’t done anything, those characters spell my name only through coincidence.
MC: “I will continue loving you even if I fall to hell” – you’re saying this is coincidence too?
Ichimura-sensei: Be quiet.
MC: Be honest. You mentioned an ex-fiancée earlier. But really, it was a one sided love for my mother wasn’t it?
MC: You attacked my mother, and left her in a comatose state!!
Ichimura-sensei: Cut it out already!! I’m a doctor who saves lives. Quit bringing up these false accusations. Your theories are just preposterous. There’s not a shred of evidence for your…
MC: I do have evidence.
Ichimura-sensei: What?!
MC hesitates for a split second because it is unrefutable evidence. However, bringing it out will undoubtedly turn the “trusted and respected” Ichimura-sensei into a detestable cold-blooded murderer.
Ichimura-sensei: Why the hell are you all quiet and stalling for, if you have evidence then show me right now!
MC realises the kind Ichimura-sensei no longer exists, the person right in front of her eyes is a cold-blooded murderer with no heart.
FINAL CHOICE
What proves Ichimura-sensei attacked MC’s mother?
Ring from Ichimura-sensei
MC: Engraved on the ring is “ad multos annoS&In flore.” No matter how you look at it, the capitalised S is strange.
Ichimura-sensei: That’s just a mistake! There’s no special meaning to it.
MC: It’s not a mistake. These are the initials of my parents – Sayuri and Isuke!
Ichimura-sensei: ..!! Nonsense! How stupid!
MC: The same initials are written on my mother’s tombstone. As well as the same numbers on this ring, “MCMXC.VIII.III.” You know that this represents my parents’ anniversary, right? The real reason you gave me this ring is, 20 years ago when you attacked my mother, you also stole this ring!
(Note from me: Seriously?? Baffles me every time I read it. How disgustingly low can you go. Plus how stupid do you have to be to reuse the ring ughhh)
Ichimura-sensei: …Haha. Hahahahahaha!!
MC: At the beginning when I suspected you were the culprit I thought you were so engrossed in your work that you had started deviating into human experimentation.
Ichimura-sensei: I see… and then?
MC: However, really, you knew my mother had someone she loved, and furthermore had a child - me… You detested her and thought to kill her… that’s it, isn’t it?
Ichimura-sensei: ..Heh, you really are the spitting image of Sayuri-san. Intelligent, and absolutely beautiful… ah, hurry and become mine already…!
He approaches MC, who starts stepping back in response.
MC: Don’t come any closer!
Ichimura-sensei: Hmm? What are you so scared of? Don’t be scared. Just like Sayuri-san, by my hands I will send you to your death peacefully.
With the words “by my hands”, MC realises to her horror that the time her mother woke up again and started coughing and Ichimura-sensei intervened telling everyone to step back was when he killed her… MC accuses him of pretending to save her mother but in actuality he was using that opportunity to kill her. He confirms, and calmly declares that by his hands he sent her to the other side and that there is nothing more euphoric then sending off someone you love by your own hands. For him, there is no replacement for Sayuri-san and what she gave him. MC shakes with sadness, anger, and detest and all other emotions swirling in her.
He notices her trembling and says some BS like it’s okay and to hold onto him, and he will send her to the afterlife with no ill feelings like fear.
MC: Don’t underestimate me.
Ichimura-sensei: ..? I must’ve misheard you.
MC: Never underestimate a yakuza woman!!
*SLAP*
MC delivers a slap that leaves his own body shaking, and he slams into the bookcase. The broken glass shards shower down on him.
(FFFFFSSS UGH this face gave me nightmares. By the way he makes his face the whole time after I just can’t be bothered posting it multiple times)
Ichimura-sensei: Ahyahyahahaha!! Ah, every~one hates me huh…
He grasps the broken glass from a ship in a bottle, stepping towards MC. MC, feeling the danger she’s in, tries to run towards the door but
Ichimura-sensei: Even you hate me huh!!
He grabs MC’s throat.
Ichimura-sensei: I’m a chosen human, blessed with intelligence and genius by god. In order for doctors to grow and develop they need to kill, what’s so wrong with that!!
MC feels all the blood drain from her body.
MC: Noo..!! LET GO!
Ichimura-sensei: Go on! Cry out more! Then beg me for your life! Ahahaha! You are your mother are really the best women!!
MC: Help me, Okura..!!
Ichimura-sensei: Huh, Okura?
The door flies open with a BAM!
Okura: Don’t move.
Ichimura-sensei brings a broken glass shard up to MC’s face, exclaiming in anger that Okura is interfering once more. Ichimura-sensei yells nonsense like thanks to Okura he isn’t able to kill others that he wants to, including MC’s father who he hates the most. He “stole” Sayuri-san away from him and then when he was admitted to the hospital he thought it was his chance to “save” him but actually kill him. That is, until Okura applied for a hospital transfer. MC is surprised by this because she hadn’t known the real reason.
Ichimura-sensei tightens his grip on MC’s throat, challenging Okura to shoot. MC believes he can’t because she is too close to Ichimura-sensei. He laughs maniacally, challenging Okura to stay there and slowly watch “this woman” die. To MC, he smiles and imparts a “let’s go and meet your mother.” He raises the glass shard closer to MC and BAM!
The glass shard is shot out of his hand, Okura yells to MC to run. MC runs over to Okura, he embraces her protectively and points his gun at Ichimura-sensei.
Okura: It’s over.
Ichimura-sensei: You son of a bitch!!!
At that moment many policemen storm in through the door. Ichimura-sensei is shocked but then spouts nonsense about how he is the chosen one by god and to let him go. The policemen haul him off, while Okura puts away his gun and takes MC out of the office.
Outside of the hospital, MC questions if Okura was the one who called the police and he confirms it. She points out the irony since he’s a yakuza. He rebuts by saying that catching criminals is the job of the police, not something that he’s meant to be doing. MC realises that all the times she saw Okura around and in the hospital was likely because he was also suspicious of Ichimura-sensei and if that’s true then he has a scarily good intuition.
Ichimura-sensei is walked out of the building by police, and his usual composure has returned. He asks MC if she hates him, and her response is that she doesn’t know but she cannot forgive him. Ichimura-sensei questions if he was wrong, the way he loves people (well DUH??!) and he laughs weakly to himself as he is bundled into the police car. MC suddenly feels empty in her heart. Even though she knows he murdered her mother, assaulted (and very almost killed) Hime-chan and did countless horrible things to others, somewhere in her heart she doesn’t believe that is the real Ichimura-sensei (oh MC…). She feels that if she voices these feelings out loud to Okura he will call her a “kid” and “naïve.”
But, looking next to her he’s no longer there. She figures he probably ran off because it would be troublesome to explain things to the police and feels that he could have at least said something before leaving. She concludes that she will talk to him later back at the share house but then remembers he left it. She wonders when they will next meet. Feeling a little uneasy all of a sudden, MC walks off to look for Okura. To the open air, she asks where he’s gone and that she hadn’t yet been able to express her gratitude to him for saving her. However, he’s nowhere to be found. That day is the last MC saw of Okura.

DOUBT PART
MC calls out Yuu-kun, and accuses him of abducting her.
Yuu-kun: I was the abductor? No way, no way!
MC: If you weren’t the one, then how come you said that when you came to save me?
What could Yuu-kun only know because he was the abductor?
A. The abduction time
B. The abduction place
C. What the abductor used
Answer: A
MC: When I sent out the SOS, I didn’t mention the time it happened, so how did you know it happened in the morning?
Yuu-kun: It’s just the feeling I had.
MC repeats the exact message she sent to him. Yuu-kun claims he read it and came here to find her and that he was lucky he knew about Aomi Container Terminal. However… MC points out this isn’t Aomi Container Terminal.
Yuu-kun: Why do you think that’s so?
What sound revealed to you that it’s not Aomi Container Terminal?
A. The sound of waves
B. The sound of planes
C. The sound of trains
Answer: C
MC: While I was held hostage in the car, I could hear trains going by. Yuu-kun, you previously said that trains don’t go by near Aomi Container Terminal, didn’t you?
Yuu-kun: Did I..? I came here because I thought it was Tokyo Bay, I guess I was wrong~
MC: Don’t play dumb! The fact that this is Sodegaura Port in Chiba, the one person who would know this is you!
Yuu-kun: Hm? This is Chiba? That’s the first I’ve heard.
MC: You know what today is, don’t you?
Yuu-kun: Of course, it’s Marine Day.
MC: On Marine Day at noon the ferries and boats at the port all sound their steam whistles together. You know of such an event, right?
Yuu-kun: I didn’t know about that. But, what about it?
MC: When I woke up around noon, I heard the steam whistles.
Yuu-kun: Maybe you heard them at Tokyo Bay then?
MC: Nope, the place you hear them is at only at the port in Chiba!
What's the evidence that shows that the ships sound their whistles at the Port in Chiba?
Cruise tour booklet
MC: In here it’s written, “On Marine Day there’s a differing event on.” Therefore, the only place you can hear the steam whistles is at Chiba Port!
Yuu-kun: Hmm I see.
MC: Yuu-kun, you brought me here didn’t you?
Yuu-kun: Like I said, I wasn’t the one who abducted you.
MC: In the car I was taken in, there’s evidence that you were in there.
Yuu-kun: Really? Then show me.
What’s the evidence that Yuu-kun was in the car MC was held captive in?
Credit card receipt
MC: Inside the car I found this credit card receipt, it shows the last four digits of the card, which exactly matches the card you gave me!
Yuu-kun: Th-that does look like it.. But credit cards have 16 digits, the last 4 digits being the same could just be coincidence.
MC: But this receipt is for a supermarket near our share house we often shop at?
Yuu-kun suddenly claps his hands together in front of his face in apology.
Yuu-kun: Sorry! The one who abducted you MC-chan… is me. I wanted to protect you from things even more dangerous so it became like this… I’m sorry for scaring you.
MC: I won’t be pulled in by your lies! Yuu-kun, you’re part of the Hong Kong mafia and also partaking in human trafficking, aren’t you?
Yuu-kun: What? I wouldn’t be part of something so disturbing.
MC: It’s useless to deflect anymore!
FINAL CHOICE
Show proof that Yuu-kun is involved in human trafficking
Student ID
MC: This student ID was in the car.
MC pulls out the News website homepage (the bottom half of it lists 3 people who have recently gone missing)
MC: This is one of the three people who have gone missing! The one who abducted these three people and sold them off is you, Yuu-kun. Isn’t it?
Yuu-kun: Yeah, so what?
MC is shocked by Yuu-kun’s cold expression, having never seen it before. Yuu-kun is lamenting failing a mission for the first time. Not only that, the one who got away is MC, a daughter of a yakuza leader. MC questions him on when exactly did he know she was the daughter of the leader of the Ryumon gang. He reveals it was ages ago, when right in front of him she dropped the special Ryumon gang memo paper.
To MC’s horror she remembers that this was back in the New Year (see liar 2). MC is appalled that he knew all this time but pretended he didn’t. He said it was confirmed for him once Okura moved in and that it was entertaining for him to watch MC-chan struggle so hard to protect her secret. MC further questions him, if he knew her secret all this time why did he only do all this now. He looks like he wants to explain, but in the end replies that it doesn’t matter at this point. MC wants to know if all his smiles, his words, his actions were lies up to now. He confirms that they were. All he had to do was be a little bit kind to her, and he calls MC simple. He declares he hates the Japanese mafia from the bottom of his heart. MC exclaims that he is the worst and delivers a
*SLAP*
Yuu-kun hardly moves from the impact. He questions MC, if she knows the rules of a fight. He answers himself – that the one who starts it is at fault! Just as he is about to grab MC Okura steps in, calling Yuu-kun a mafia brat, and points a gun at Yuu-kun’s head. Yuu-kun praises Okura, since he couldn’t even feel his presence. Yuu-kun questions Okura on just who exactly he is, and just what horrible things did he commit in the past to get to where he is now. Okura lights a cigarette, simply replying that he is in the Ryumon gang and nothing more. Police sirens draw near and Yuu-kun confesses he would have loved to kidnap MC by force but looks like his time is up, and climbs up on top of one of the shipping containers. He mutters one last goodbye to MC-chan, telling her to live well and that they’ll likely never meet again and he disappears.
MC is back at the carpark, reflecting on Yuu-kun being part of the mafia. She can never forgive the things he has done but feels heavy in her heart. Ichimura-sensei insists MC should rest at a hospital and MC tries to refuse, but he stresses that he can’t stand to see her upset and never wants to see her so unhappy again. MC suspects that he feels responsible for what happened to her mother and is trying to look after her now. Okura informs MC they are heading off and pulls her by her hand. She finds the smell of smoke on him comforting. MC looks up at the plane in the sky, and really does feel that watching it makes her feel like she could go anywhere. She sheds tears, while hiding them from both Okura and Ichimura-sensei.

Bold text = hints which were written in pink
It’s the very middle of Golden Week, May 3rd. MC is at work with Sumika and checking up on Kuonji-san who was admitted last night. She’s part of the wealthy Kuonji family. They are checking on the wound she has on her arm. Kuonji-san observes that they are close in age to her, and asks them if they have a boyfriend. Sumika leaves the room and starts cleaning. MC continues the conversation since she knows Sumika hates things like this (small talk and just talking about herself lol).
MC reveals she doesn’t, which Kuonji-san is surprised about since MC is so pretty. Kuonji-san reveals that she has a boyfriend, but lately he has been cheating. She admits that he probably thought that even if he she found out, she wouldn’t do anything. Kuonji-san recounts that he said she is who he really wants to be with, and that it was a one time slip up so she forgave him. MC inwardly thinks that she could not do such a thing – she’d sooner slap them and say goodbye.
However, Kuonji-san’s trouble is the other woman. She had declared that actually, you’re the other woman and had come to attack Kuonji-san. It’s revealed that the injury was from when Kuonji-san was out with her boyfriend waiting at the traffic light when suddenly she was pushed onto the road. Her boyfriend had grabbed her arm to bring her to safety and she views him as a hero.
DOUBT 6 suspects
Wataya-kun
Sumika
MC and Sumika have lunch together and Sumika is picking up her psychology studies again. She wants to know everything the person she loves is thinking.
Cute!
It’s MC’s first time seeing such an expression on Sumika. MC asks if Sumika now has a boyfriend, and she responds that it happened one month ago. MC feels happy that Sumika let her in on that and wonders what he’s like. Sumika explains that he thinks similarly to her and that their cores are the same (like their values? Something like that). Sumika can’t imagine finding someone who understands her more than him.
MC queries Sumika if it’s difficult for her and her boyfriend to meet due to the nature of their work. Sumika admits it’s a little difficult but he’s given her a spare key, and shared that it makes him happy having someone wait for him at home. Lately, when she has time she also goes over to clean and prepare meals for him. MC voices he is lucky to have her, and Sumika confesses that he is sometimes forgetful – the other day he saw the weather forecast but still forgot his umbrella so she met him at the station.
MC goes to visit her mother and asks her to watch over her as she tries to look for her life partner. She asks her mum what made her fall in love with her father and… if she was happy being with her father. MC hears a knock on the door.
MC’s has never seen him before and wonders if he has connections to yakuza LOL. He introduces himself as Sotaro Shiga from Tozai Hospital. MC asks why he is here and he starts looking at her mother’s condition and monitor and only when MC queries again he apologises because he was so engrossed in his work and that he was given permission by Ichimura-sensei (he legit only says that). He hopes MC’s mother will wake up soon and takes his leave.
MC encounters Wataya-kun outside who offers to walk her back home part way. They talk and MC thanks him for supporting her, he compliments her saying that she is attentive to her patients, calm in dire situations, strong willed and a lovely person. He doesn’t have work until tomorrow night, so he invites MC to spend time together until then. MC unfortunately has planned to visit Hime-chan that day with everyone from the share house but offers to go out another day.
After her bath, MC has received TalkTime messages from Wataya-kun and the share house group chat. Wataya-kun asks if MC is free to go out on May 9th. She is, and he’s relieved because he perceives her to be popular and probably never has time. They talk about hobbies, and he likes to read books in his free time. In the group chat, they agree to assemble at 9:15pm in the dining room.
After their discussion, they agree to set out at 10am to buy flowers and other gifts, and to arrive at the hospital at 11:30am. Everyone is looking forward to seeing Hime-chan again. Ami posts the plan on the share house FindFriend page.
Evidence gathered
Sumika’s FindFriend screenshot
Share house FindFriend screenshot
Kazemiya-kun’s FindFriend screenshot
The next day Karen, Ami and MC are walking together after having bought their gifts. MC sees Wataya-kun and Sumika together. Sumika had written on her FF the night before that she would be on a date, so MC gathers that her boyfriend must be Wataya-kun. MC is perplexed since he had asked her out on a date also.
Everyone arrives at the hospital and even Okura has come to see Hime-chan. Hime-chan is happy to receive her gift of skin lotion from Karen and remarks at times like this she feels grateful for her girlfriends. Karen tells her not to believe too much in the friendship of women, since it’s nothing but a lie and can be broken in an instant. Hime-chan questions if Karen is just teasing.
MC sees Wataya-kun outside in the foyer and approaches him. He asks if she’s come to visit someone and she explains. He then says it’s time for him to go to work.
After walking a while MC sees Sumika sitting on a bench outside. When MC calls out to her, she finds that her eyes are quite red from crying. MC runs over and it turns out Sumika’s boyfriend is messaging various women, even replying to them immediately. When she had called him out he would be rather short, telling her to shut up and that she’s annoying. When MC touches her arm to comfort her Sumika lets out an “ouch!”
Sumika doesn’t reply when MC asks if her arm is injured so MC questions whether her boyfriend did this to her. She vehemently denies it, responding that he only lightly pushed her and she staggered into a wall and that it’s not his fault. MC believes that even an injury from a push is a blaring sign of violent tendencies. MC suggests that wouldn’t it be better for the two to break up but Sumika blankly replies “why?” When MC pushes it further Sumika only responds that he has small moments like this but he is normally a very kind guy. After her injury he had apologised and hugged her.
Oh Sumika.
She again insists that she will not be breaking up with him, that he needs her and that he is the only one for her. She runs off.
It’s now May 9th, after Golden Week has ended and MC is on a shift with Sumika and Wataya-kun. Sumika apologises for what happened the other day, and informs that he was quite mad and hadn’t responded to her for a while but she had gone to his house to do some housework for him. She intends to communicate through her actions. He then forgave her and they made up.
When the three of them are doing rounds they discuss how they spent their Golden Week. Sumika went to the cup ramen museum (it’s in Yokohama btw!) and made her own take home instant ramen and she sends MC a photo.
Evidence gathered
Photo of instant ramen
MC thinks the design is really pretty, and shows it to Wataya-kun who seems lukewarm about it.
“Ah, yeah, that’s nice.”
A nurse calls Sumika away leaving just MC and Wataya-kun. She asks him if he spent Golden Week reading and he only replies “something like that.” MC shares she mostly spent her break sleeping, so she is looking forward to going out with him.
He is confused and doesn’t know what MC is talking about. MC wonders if he is just saying that because he doesn’t want the people at work to hear.
Now back at home in bed, she received a TalkTime message from him. He is looking forward to them meeting up tomorrow (at 3pm) so much so that he might not sleep. He sends a photo of the book he’s been reading lately. He offers to lend it to MC when he’s done.
Evidence gathered
Photo of the book
They’re now at a café Wataya-kun recommended. He remarks that he likes organic cafes. He particularly recommends the fruit tart. He’s had everything on the menu before, and loves sweet things. After their meal they wander the café’s botanical garden. Wataya-kun has really in depth knowledge of the flowers there. It turns out when he gets tired from work he often comes here, and as a result he’s become fascinated with plants and flowers and has even grown some on his balcony. He enjoys keeping a diary on their growth. His flowers have recently bloomed so he promises to send a photo. MC asks if it’s okay to share this place with Sumika, because it might be a nice date spot for her and her boyfriend.
He looks a bit perplexed, muttering “Shito-san has got a boyfriend?” When MC questions what’s wrong, his response is that lately she has been stalking him. She has made a key to his place and even entered uninvited. When MC asks how he knows that he answers that Shito-san had left cooked dishes for him multiple times, with written notes attached. She also waits for him after work and seems to know too much about him such that he’s scared. Though he feels relieved she’s made a boyfriend as he thinks he’ll be safe now.
MC is utterly confused since both Sumika and Wataya-kun are telling different stories. They return to the nearby station and he asks if she’d like to go again with him. She says she’d love to, and to also learn more about him. However, the two of them are then interrupted
What are you two doing?!
She demands to know why he is with MC, since he had promised he wouldn’t see other women and she asks if he no longer loves her. When MC tries to reach out, she is slapped away and Sumika yells that she shouldn’t be looking at her with a smile. Sumika almost starts hyperventilating, but closes her eyes and takes deep breaths. Wataya-kun also tells her to calm down. He tells MC he will send Sumika to the nearest station and he apologises but this is the end of the night for MC and him. They leave and MC reflects that this is the first time she has seen Sumika like that and also that Wataya-kun must really be her boyfriend (but really MC? I thought you’d know that sooner..) but then why would he go on a date with her. Is he trying to two-time?
After MC’s bath she receives a message from Wataya-kun – he looks forward to the next date and MC is a bit incredulous he didn’t mention what happened earlier. He also sends a photo of his flowers and plants. MC can’t imagine him committing acts of violence against Sumika, when he is the type who cares for his plants so deeply.
Evidence gathered
Wataya-kun’s plants
Next day, MC calls out to Sumika in the change room but she is ignored. As she is getting changed, MC notices new bruises on Sumika but when MC tries to say something Sumika proclaims she better not tell anyone about it and leaves. MC’s notices on the inside of her locker door is a paper with the words “go home you thieving cat” – she suspects it is from Sumika but can’t believe it.
After work MC sees Wataya-kun and Sumika outside. She overhears Wataya-kun asking Sumika if her back wound is okay. MC observes their closeness and concludes they really must be dating. MC approaches, wanting to have a heart to heart with Sumika but she is only greeted coldly. MC pushes and Sumika VERY reluctantly agrees. They go to a nearby park.
Sumika starts off by declaring that Sumika is the one Wataya-kun is with. When MC queries if she is the one who stuck the paper to her locker, Sumika doesn’t seem to know what MC is talking about. Sumika takes out a leather charm, which has her locker key attached. She declares that it was given to her as a present for their 1 month anniversary. She recounts that when they had gone to a café, he had revealed that he hates sweet things and won’t eat desserts. Sumika reiterates that MC needs to back off from Wataya-kun.
MC is conflicted, because she understands Sumika’s feelings but Wataya-kun claims she is stalking him. MC comments she needs to hear things out from him and of course Sumika becomes enraged, and yells that she would never forgive MC if she were to steal him from her. Sumika runs off but has dropped her charm. She has even dropped a pair of scissors.
Evidence gathered
Sumika’s locker key
Scissors Sumika dropped
On MC’s night shift she bumps into Wataya-kun and he wants to know why she looks glum, guessing it’s because she wants to quiz him about Shito-san. He recounts that Shito-san has the delusional idea that she is his girlfriend and also shares that she bought herself a leather charm claiming it was a present from him. He’s afraid of her because even though he hadn’t requested her to, she has prepared meals for him and even asked what he liked. Suddenly, he brings his face super close to MC.
I love you.
He promises he will do something about Shito-san but would like MC to date him. She appreciates his feelings but would like time to think things through. He makes a displeased expression and leaves, surprising MC as it’s her first time seeing him make that sort of face.
When she returns to her desk, there’s a memo. It writes – meet me at 1am on the rooftop. She’s certain it’s either Wataya-kun or Sumika. She looks at the clock and it’s very nearly 1am and hurries to the rooftop. She takes the lift to the highest level and goes to the staircase to reach the rooftop but feels something snag her leg and starts to fall.
Wataya-kun grabs her by the arm and saves her, checking if she’s okay. Sumika also arrives asking what’s happening. MC explains she was called to the rooftop then Wataya-kun points out the rope. MC notices it has been tied in a very peculiar way. Looking closely, she also sees a scissors safety cap.
Evidence gathered
Photo of the stairs
They work to undo it, as it’s a hazard for others but MC doesn’t understand why the both of them arrived so quickly. People don’t frequent this area and thinking carefully, she deduces the person who put up the rope, called her here and tried to hurt her are one and the same. When she looks at Sumika who might be a stalker, and Wataya-kun who could be trying to two time, she notices something important. The one who put up the rope must be that person. She can’t forgive someone who’s done this and caused so much trouble to not just her, but the other party.
So who do you think the liar is?

It’s midway through July and MC is on her way home. Since the day her mother passed, MC and her father have begun contacting each other more. When she returns home, Kazemiya-kun, Ami and Yuu-kun are in the living room.
MC notices their grim expression and Ami shows MC something on TalkTime.
Evidence gathered
News site screenshot
It’s a screenshot of a newspage, detailing the fight between Ryumon gang and Toranomon gang and how MC was the cause (not true). The top banner has a photo of MC and her father (eyes are blacked out though). Kazemiya-kun asks outright if MC is part of the yakuza, and Ami also remembers the words MC said when she slapped Ami after her lie. Yuu-kun gives MC a gentle pat on the back as if to reassure her “it’ll be alright.”
MC confesses that she is the daughter of the leader of the Ryumon gang, and that she is sorry for keeping it quiet all this time. The two of course, are understandably shocked. Yuu-kun defends MC, expressing that we cannot choose the circumstances we are born into. To him, the MC he knows is an ordinary woman who loves her work, and to sleep. The two of them aren’t convinced and Yuu-kun further points out that everyone has their own secret, and they all know the burden of having to keep one so that’s even more reason to understand. MC is amazed that Yuu-kun knows all the things she would have wanted to convey.
Karen comes in with a letter she just received from the postman outside. There is no name marked and she states it gives her a bad feeling. MC opens and reads it, Karen takes it next to also read it. The contents are “MC, we know you are the daughter of the Ryumon gang leader. If you value your life turn your father in at Tokyo Bay. Signed, Red Fortune.” Karen mutters it’s a worthless letter and nothing more than a prank, which Yuu-kun agrees with. MC says if it comes to it, she will move out as she doesn’t want to put anyone in danger.
Yuu-kun expresses that he cannot just leave MC alone, and Kazemiya-kun agrees, because MC has done nothing wrong so it is not right to have her life targeted. Ami agrees it is not necessary for MC to leave. MC is touched. Ami also asks Karen if she knew about MC’s secret and Karen is about to reveal the truth about herself, but MC interjects and explains that Karen knew but was still willing to be her friend (MC doesn’t feel that Karen needs to reveal her secret). Karen tells MC on the side that the Red Fortune gang recently have been moving in Tokyo, and they are the Hong Kong mafia. MC wants to consult with Okura, but she hasn’t seen him anywhere lately. She goes to sleep, feeling uneasy.
DOUBT 8 suspects
Ichimura-sensei
Yuu-kun
Okura
The next day MC sees Ichimura-sensei standing outside the hospital on her way in to work. He explains that orders from above are that she is to take a few days off work starting today. MC is surprised, and asks him if he knows about the letter. He has no idea what she is talking about. MC wonders why she needs to take time off and although he might not agree with the reasons, he does think MC should take a little rest. He has two tickets to an opera, gives her one and asks her to accompany him.
Evidence gathered
Opera ticket
She notices the ticket print date was 2 weeks ago and wondered if he prepared this in advance. She decides to go with him. MC sits in the passenger seat while he drives. She thanks him for treating her the same despite what he found out. He asks her to take a booklet out from the dashboard compartment. MC sees that it is a cruise trip that departs from Tokyo Bay, travelling to many countries. Ichimura-sensei explains that he has a tonne of leave saved up and that if MC could, would she like to join him on a cruising trip?
He elaborates it would be nice to go far and forget any troubles. He doesn’t need an answer right away so asks MC to keep the booklet and have a think.
Evidence gathered
Cruise tour booklet
There are a lot of people who have come to see the performance. Ichimura-sensei offers his arm out to MC and takes them to their seats. As he sits down, two handkerchiefs fall from his pocket. He picks them up and the performance starts.
After the show, MC thinks about how fun it was and how if she were to go out with Ichimura-sensei she would probably be going on adult like dates like this. He invites her out to a nearby sushi restaurant. She asks him if he likes sushi, and he answers that he likes seafood more than meat. Lately, he’s also been going fishing with a doctor friend. Sodegaura Port in Chiba prefecture is close to the train station, so it’s easy to get to so he likes going there. He finds it relaxing to fish, as planes heading for Haneda airport fly overhead.
He receives a call from the hospital, it’s an emergency and he needs to go. He apologises for not being able to send MC home and offers to have that dinner together next time. He tells her to go straight home to the share house, without stopping on the way. He also advises that if she feels someone following her, to run down narrow roads. Then he also asks if she knows the weak spots of people (where to aim for if you’re in danger) and she lists them. He recommends that in the off chance she is attacked, to aim for those points. He encourages her to call him if anything happens, and leaves.
MC has gotten off at the station closest to home, and walks with Ichimura-sensei’s words in mind. She feels someone behind her but sees no one. Again, she feels it and thinks someone is following her. She starts running for home.
No lights are on. She hears a smash! from the garden, as if the window glass had been broken. She sees a flicker and chases after them, forgetting her fear. She loses them in an alley way and hears footsteps behind her. The footsteps reach her, and she feels a hand on her shoulder and screams.
??: MC-chan, it’s me!
When she opens her eyes it’s Yuu-kun, who apologises for scaring her. He saw MC from the entrance way suddenly running off and followed her. Seeing him makes her relieved, and he comforts her and her shaking slowly subsides. Later, he is on the phone to Kazemiya-kun and explains the situation. Both him and Ami have returned home and nothing looks off inside the house. They’ve also contacted the police and Haruichi and Yuu-kun advised them both to stay over at a friend’s house for the time being. Since Karen is still at work, he left her a TalkTime message. He also sent a text to Okura. MC notes how calm and collected he’s being, and that she can rely on him.
He asks if MC has a place to stay but it’s hard to suddenly ask a friend. She considers going home to her family, but with recent events she doesn’t want to. He gathers she doesn’t have a place to go, so offers her to go along with him. He takes her hand and suggests eloping.
Yuu-kun takes her to the sky deck of Haneda airport, exclaiming how looking at the planes flying in the open sky gives him the feeling he could go anywhere. He points out a black plane to MC, thinking it looks cool. She wonders where it’s heading, and he answers that it is travelling in the direction of Kyushu. He elaborates from Tokyo it only departs from Haneda so they were lucky to see it(?). MC comments that he seems to know a lot on the subject and queries if he likes planes. He responds that he loves transport, like planes, trains and boats. Last time, he went to shoot (photography) at Tokyo Bay at Aomi Container Terminal and it was pretty amazing. It was near Haneda Port so he also heard planes flying.
He offers to take MC there next time. Since trains don’t stop there, they can take the car. MC reflects on the words he had said earlier to Kazemiya-kun and Ami. She explains he doesn’t have to answer if doesn’t want to, but asks him what the secret is that he’s carrying. He apologises, because he can’t tell her right now. They stay and look up at the sky for a little longer.
They decide to stay at a business hotel near the airport. He goes to book them in, and tasks MC with going to the convenience to buy some food and supplies. He hands her his credit card.
Evidence gathered
Yuu-kun’s credit card
She refutes, pointing out that she doesn’t need it but insists that he trusts her. He gives her the pin code. She’s glad he trusts her but doesn’t think it’s a good idea to give out his card so easily.
When she returns with the supplies, he looks a bit disheartened and admits they only had a double room left. When MC reacts, he confesses it was just a joke and reserved two single rooms. He laughs, but jokes that if MC gets lonely she is free to go over.
Lying in her bed, MC wants to send Yuu-kun a proper thank you message. She realises she forgot to return his card and resolves to do it tomorrow morning. She notices she has received a tonne of TalkTime messages – she had left her phone off since the opera show and hadn’t turned it back on. Okura had sent her many messages asking where she is. She replies and tells him she went to Haneda airport with Yuu-kun and is now staying at a business hotel. All her messages are left on read and she feels he’s quite angry.
To Yuu-kun, she thanks him for today and they wish each other goodnight. Ichimura-sensei had asked if she was alright, and she explains the share house situation. He offers her to stay at his place but she reassures she’s safe and thanks him. Karen had also texted, wishing MC to stay safe and if needed, she should run off with Okura. Lastly, a message from unknown threatens MC, for acting like someone normal when she is “the same as them” and someone “from the darkness.” She believes it is the same person who sent her the threatening note, and wonders how they know her contact number.
MC goes off to sleep but in the middle of the night hears a sound. She feels a presence, and from behind her a hand covers her mouth. A male voice tells her not to make any noise.
It’s Okura, who MC is surprised to see here.
He takes her to his car and drives off. She notices it is 1:40am, so he came straight after she texted him back. She asks how he got into her room, since she had definitely locked it. His response is that he has connections outside of the Ryumon gang too. MC declares she will take care of herself but he berates her, and warns that the Hong Kong mafia that are after her are different to the Japanese yakuza – those that have a value and serve a purpose can live, but those that don’t “disappear.” They have no dignity. He cautions MC that if she doesn’t want to die, to not act out on her own again.
He explains he will take her to her father’s place (though she doesn’t want to go) but starts driving off in a different direction. When MC points this out, Okura clarifies that arriving at this time would only wake up her father so he will drive around for a while and MC should go to sleep. MC feels that he understands her feelings about not wanting to go home and silently thanks him.
It’s daylight when MC awakens, still in Okura’s care. When she questions where he’s going, he replies “work.” In the end, he takes her to a festival with stalls, and she is wondering what they are doing there. One of the staff hands her a pamphlet.
Evidence gathered
Festival pamphlet
MC reads it, realising it is for “Marine Day” which is on July 15th. MC admires the xiao long bao which looks delicious, when her tummy starts to rumble. Okura comments that that’s so like her, and orders one. MC queries him when he learned Chinese, he answers that it’s Cantonese, and often used in Hong Kong. When she sees a couple walk by at the festival MC wishes too to be able to walk around on a date with the person she loves. As she’s thinking, a red object suddenly appears in her eyeline. Okura has bought her a candy apple, remembering that she likes them. She retorts that it was when she was young, and she imagines he will respond with “but you’re still a kid” but instead he simply replies “that’s true.” She asks why he didn’t say she was a kid, and his response is “is that what you wanted?” haha.
MC speaks out loud that she doesn’t think he sees her as a woman. He replies “you are.” MC’s heart flutters.
MC receives a TalkTime message from both Ichimura-sensei and Yuu-kun. Yuu-kun had invited MC down for breakfast but when she hadn’t replied he asked where she was, as he was worried. MC explains that a lot happened and she’s gone elsewhere for now and apologises for not letting him know. Ichimura-sensei also is worried, and wants to know where MC is. She gives a similar reply. He also asks if she will go on the cruise with her, and that he will take responsibility and protect her. MC doesn’t want to cause any trouble for him, and asks for more time to think it through.
Now at the main house, MC goes to seek out her father, whose condition is not improving. Okura wonders aloud if it wouldn’t be better if MC’s father retired soon. As the gang are making plans for their next move, MC warns Okura to not die. Okura declares that no matter what happens, he alone will surely not die. MC is baffled, because he is only human and doesn’t understand his confidence.
MC meets with her father, and explains to him that she has come to accept that she is the daughter of a yakuza and is part of this world too, but hates that it only seems to be causing trouble for those around her. His response is men willingly choose to protect women, so it’s fine if MC willingly accepts to be protected. If she stays in this house, he will die in order to protect MC. MC is worried for him but he thinks that is a more befitting way to die than just lying on his futon lol. He proclaims that if anything happens to him then Okura will definitely come to save the day, as he is someone he can trust from the bottom of his heart.
MC is finding it difficult so goes to watch the moon, and Okura appears. He observes MC can’t sleep, and for some reason slides his credit card across the ground to her.
Evidence gathered
Okura’s credit card
He utters in this world, you at least need money. She should take it just in case, and he gives her the pin code for it. Amongst other things, MC wants to confirm if carrying guns is forbidden in the Ryumon gang, to which Okura refutes isn’t the case and hands MC one, and teaches her how to use it.
MC reminds him she is a nurse who saves lives and she cannot accept using something that needlessly takes away lives. He sighs and voices she should at least use it to protect (her) life. One of the underlings runs in shouting that some of the gang members have been attacked in a raid. The attackers are Red Fortune, who were intending to sell off MC in Hong Kong. MC’s father appears and will go to deal with it(?) and advises MC to get some rest and not to worry.
The next morning MC is thinking over recent events while staring into the garden. She sees a fleeting shadow and worries that the person who tried to break into the share house is back, and here now after her. She dashes out of the house and runs after where she thinks they’ve gone but when she takes another step, someone grabs her and covers her mouth with a cloth. When she tries to turn around she loses consciousness.
When she comes to, she’s in a car and her head is pounding. She finds her knee had been scraped and is bleeding, and that her hands and feet are tied. When she looks out the curtains that block the window she thinks she can see container ships, and she can also see vapour trails from planes in the sky. She sees a black plane too. Listening carefully, she hears the sound of waves, in the distance the sound of planes, and nearby the sound of a train. Lastly, she hears a continuous steam whistle of a boat which lasts about 30 seconds. There’s no doubt in her mind, this is a port.
MC deduces that if that’s the plane that only departs and lands at Haneda airport and she can see a port, then this must be Tokyo Bay. She finds her phone on the ground, thinking the culprit must be quite panicked if they forgot to take it. She also looks around the inside of the car.

With MC’s hands still tied, it’s hard to type out a message but she sends the same message (copy pasted) to Ichimura-sensei, Yuu-kun and Okura. The message is time stamped 12:02 and reads “help, I’ve been taken, probably Tokyo Bay” and “drugged and lost consciousness near home.” Shortly after sending the messages she hears footsteps from outside so tosses her phone aside, curls up and pretends to be asleep. She inwardly begs them not to come. However, they open the door and press a cloth to her mouth, and once again she loses consciousness…
-------------------- --------------- --------------- --------------- --------------- ---------------
Bang!
Bang!
MC awakes to the sound of gunfire. The door opens, and it is Okura holding a gun, who checks that there’s no one else in the car. He checks MC is conscious and apologises for being late. He takes off the tape stick to MC’s mouth. MC hears police sirens and Yuu-kun also shows up as well as Ichimura-sensei.
Ichimura-sensei asks MC to hold still, as he cuts off the rope binding her with a small knife. Looking closely, he also has blood on his clothes. When she asks why he has that, he replies it’s used for when he goes fishing. All three were concerned MC was going to be human trafficked by the Hong Kong mafia. When she asks what happens to the victims, Okura answers they are either sold to creeps, their organs are harvested, etc.
Yuu-kun pats MC’s back to comfort her and comments that he got worried when he couldn’t contact her. She apologises, he responds by saying he understands she’s gone through a big ordeal and that to be abducted so early in the morning close to her family home is such a surprise. Ichimura-sensei chimes in, that the offender must be a sort of pro to be using chloroform.
Ichimura-sensei suggests getting MC checked at the hospital, Yuu-kun also wants to accompany them because he’s worried. Okura tells MC to get in his car. MC however, asks to be alone for a while. She doesn’t understand why she was suddenly targeted by the Hong Kong mafia when she didn’t have any ties with them. She deduces that someone close to her knows her relationship with the Ryumon gang, and that they are tied to the mafia. Also, after she sent out the three SOS messages, she was chloroformed again. This leaves three suspects. Thinking back to the events, she released one person has spoken and acted odd and is part of the Hong Kong mafia. She’s angry that they pretended to be worried for her but actually, they were trying to sell her off. She calls back to that one person to face them head on.

Bold text = hints which were written in pink
It’s now April 1st and tomorrow there will be new starters at the hospital. Sumika says she will leave them up to MC lol cause she’s more suitable to look after them (Sumika isn’t talkative and MC will give great guidance). She hears a noise from one of the rooms and heads towards it. It’s Hime-chan’s room and she gets scolded by Sumika since she is watching TV and it’s past midnight when lights off and sleep time is 10pm. Hime-chan pulls out some sleep assistance pills.
Hime-chan: The hospital’s special medicine case designs are so cute! There were a lot of colour choices but of course I got pink.
MC is relieved she looks well but is worried she is still having trouble sleeping. Hime-chan heard on the news that the sakura will be in full bloom on April 5th.
We should have a hanami together with everyone.
MC expresses she would love nothing more than to do that but that Hime-chan is still not discharged from the hospital but Hime-chan explains she would like everyone to send her photos from hanami and then she would feel like she’s there (◍•ᴗ•◍)
Hime-chan invites Sumika too since the more the merrier but she hesitates lol but replies she’ll think about it. MC believes Sumika won’t attend. MC also thinks Hime-chan is pushing the hanami because she knows everyone is down about what happened with Tokiwa-kun.
Trigger warning: rape
At 2am the morning of April 2nd, there is a new patient urgently brought in. It’s Yamasaki Kurumi who is a beautiful reporter. As MC is tending to her she exclaims that she has been raped.
Kurumi: Midnight April 2nd I was taken to the Quartz Hotel.. they even took pictures. What do I do..?!
MC feels for her and comforts her, empathising that it’ll be difficult on her but would Kurumi be willing to go to the police as there could still be evidence on her if they go within 24 hours.
The manager bursts into the room and apologises, saying Kurumi is doing this as an April fools joke (UGH). He warns Kurumi that if she wants to continue being a celebrity then she understands.. right? Kurumi apologises and says everything just now was a lie and MC should forget about it.
MC doesn’t believe it but she cannot take her to the police against her will.
Later MC wants to check up on Kurumi. She knocks and enters, to find Kurumi bleeding profusely from her neck. She presses the call button to alert the other nurses and tries to stop the bleeding. She yells for help and three people appear:
Hmm why does this give liar 3 feels? Anyway we’ve got Eitaro, Wataya-kun and Okura. Obviously MC is surprised to see Eitaro and Okura (Wataya-kun works at the hospital so not that unusual). Wataya-kun encourages MC to keep at it while he goes to call for back up. As he does some medicine falls out of his pocket.
Evidence gathered
Medicine Wataya-kun dropped
MC asks Eitaro to leave and Okura also leaves without being asked (which MC is grateful for). They manage to save Kurumi, but she is suffering from PTSD so will be staying in the hospital for a while. MC takes a photo of the staff timetable (so she can check up on her sometimes?).
Evidence gathered
Photo of staff roster
She notices some flowers on Kurumi’s bedside and thinks it is strange, since her hospital stay hasn’t been on the news, nor been shared with her family. MC takes a photo of it.
Evidence gathered
Photo of flower bouquet
DOUBT 5 suspects
Wataya-kun
Okura
Eitaro
MC looks at the photos she just took and notices the message card in the photo of the flower bouquet. It has “thanks for tonight” written on it. Since Kurumi was explained the incident occurred last night MC thinks that the flower bouquet was left by the culprit. She also thinks back to the three men who came running in not long after MC had called out. Eitaro shouldn’t have had business at the hospital, and Wataya-kun had a day off so why had he come to the hospital (and in casual clothes) and the one that concerns MC most is
He comments “looks like you saved Kurumi” and tells her to go with him. MC is wondering how he can tell that just from her face.
He ends up driving her to see her father, since his condition has taken a turn for the worse. Okura offers her a supplement drink since she doesn’t look super well. MC ends up falling asleep. When she wakes up she sees it’s sunset, it’s 4:30pm and she ended up sleeping for four hours.
They get out of the car and MC is standing outside the house she hasn’t been to since 7 years ago. She is welcomed by a yakuza member who is happy to see MC visiting after so long. MC warns she is leaving as soon as she is done and he is a bit sad, expressing she should stay longer.
They enter the room and he is lying on the futon and hasn’t stirred. When they approach concerned, he starts laughing, asking them if they got tricked.
MC declares she’s leaving and he panics, confessing it was just a joke. He says he hasn’t been doing too great and before he dies he wants to make sure his beloved daughter will be alright. He pulls out an album and MC exclaims that it’s photos of men for an omiai (sort of like arranged marriage-ish) and that they are all from the underworld. MC is angry because she feels that she was tricked into coming, having believed her father was not well. She asserts that she’d rather die than be with a man from the underground, or to be tied to this yakuza gang and that she wants nothing more than an ordinary life and happiness.
Her father starts coughing. He asks Okura that when he dies, that Okura marries MC.
MC storms out, and warns her father to never meddle in her life again. Okura tells her to get into his car but she refuses and says she will walk back, he gives a stern look and reiterates to get in and she gives in. Okura takes her to a shopping street she frequented when she was young and it brings back memories. She smells a certain aroma in the air that she remembers well, follows it and arrives at a croquette shop she loved and bought often on her way home. Okura orders one and the shop attendant stamps his loyalty card.
He offers the croquette to MC and apologises to her, saying it was the first he was hearing about her father looking to arrange a marriage interview for MC.
While MC takes the croquette and eats it (half doubting half believing in Okura) a worker from the flower shop comes up to them and thanks Okura for buying flowers this morning. She offers to show him the fresh flowers that just arrived, he declines and she tells him he doesn’t need to be like that, while tugging at his arm. MC sees a tablet case fall from his pocket.
Evidence gathered
Camera shaped as tablet case
Upon further inspection she sees it’s actually a little camera. Back at home she’s examining it more closely, wondering if this is what was used to take pictures of Kurumi. She receives a TalkTime message from Eitaro, who apologises for this morning and that because he had time off he had gone to see MC. He asks again that when MC is free they should go have that meal together that they had made plans to do so. In the share house group chat, they finalise their plans for the group hanami and Ami also brings up that tomorrow is a LGBT event and anyone interested should also attend.
The next day she is waiting for Eitaro, who comes out of a blacked out car. While him and MC are talking he takes off the badge he is wearing, which has a golden chrysanthemum in the centre with a braid and he talks about its meaning. He explains that when he is not wearing his badge that he just an ordinary man and not a politician and to call him Eitaro but MC admits she can’t bring herself to do that and calls him Agawa-san (I’m going to call him Eitaro though).
He takes her to a fancy French restaurant that has 3 Michelin stars. He wants to recommend a wine for MC who accepts. He raises a toast – “to pretty MC” who is a little embarrassed at being called that and thinks he is a romanticist. She feels the warmth of the alcohol, and thinks about the alcohol that is served before meals are high in alcohol(?).
They talk throughout their dinner and the staff brings a “special present” from Eitaro to MC. It’s a bouquet of flowers and when MC exclaims how pretty they are, he agrees that they are but MC is many more times so. Their night ends and he proposes they should go out together again some time.
MC walks off towards the station but stops by Meguro River which has a lot of cherry blossoms in bloom (I’ve been there at that time too (ノ≧ڡ≦)). She sees a loved up couple and realises it’s Wataya-kun and they say hello to each other. She asks if she’s with his girlfriend but he denies it, and he explains that lately he’s been obsessed with photography and had wanted to take her picture. He wants to show her some of the photos he’s taken and she notices his camera has a braid attached. He offers her the camera while he goes to talk to the other girl. She enjoys the photos, and towards the end of the photo gallery it’s a photo taken in a café, with zoom used. MC recognises the person in the photo as Kurumi. In the photo she can see a cake with the words Happy Birthday June 10, being held by Kurumi.
He returns and offers to send her off to the nearest station. Somehow they end up in a more sketchy area and she feels Wataya-kun griping her shoulder. As she feels him pulling her in she hears a whoosh! as a bicycle goes past.
MC thanks him but is a bit taken aback since she thought he was about to take her to a hotel. A worker approaches them offering them a tissue pack (it’s a form of advertisement) to use at their hotel, telling them it’s also got a point card and if they use it they can have the room for half price. He gives them both a pack.
Evidence gathered
Love hotel tissues
MC: We don’t have that sort of relation-
Wataya-kun: I don’t mind if we do. Shall we go?
MC: I’m not going!
Wataya-kun: Haha, it’s just a joke. Anyway the station is just there, let’s go.
She reflects that he is quite different from how he is at work, and really must make the separation between work and private. She also invites him to the group hanami and he says he will go.
Back at home in her bed she checks FindFriend.
Evidence gathered
Eitaro’s FindFriend screenshot 1
Ami’s FindFriend screenshot
Before drifting off to sleep she thinks about Kurumi and hopes she gets better soon.
It’s the day of the hanami and MC is in the kitchen with Karen and Ami, making bento side dishes. They see the flowers that MC were given on the table and Karen finds a message card attached.
Evidence gathered
Message card
Karen asks if MC has got a boyfriend now lol. MC wants advice from Karen and Ami, and tells them about her father trying to set up an omiai and MC explains she doesn’t want to be tied to her family. Ami is confused by her wording, asking MC if she means her family is wealthy or something.
Yuu-kun comes walking into the kitchen saying it smells great and wanting to taste test. MC is grateful he interrupted.
They are leaving to the hanami and Okura is in the living room, Karen insists he should come but he refuts by pointing out there’s no fun in flower watching. Karen looks displeased and calls him boring. Okura appears to be looking for something, and MC wonders if he’s looking for the camera she found.
MC finds Wataya-kun and Kazemiya-kun chatting on the blanket at the hanami site, and it turns out they met each other while he was taking pictures of the sakura the other day. Wataya-kun hands MC a can of supplement drink, as she has work tomorrow and he reveals lately when he drinks he doesn’t really remember anything (gosh) so he started taking this. MC takes it from him and drinks it.
On MC’s way to the bathroom she accidentally bumps into someone.
Cassie wants to know what’s been happening since the last time they’ve met but also warn somethisng bad is coming MC’s way. Cassie gets called and leaves. When MC returns back to the hanami blanket Eitaro has arrived. She notices he is wearing his badge, meaning he was busy working. She’s glad he was about to make it.
Everyone is surprised at someone so high status attending. Yuu-kun asks MC if she gets along well with Eitaro, she answers something along the lines of “sort of” and Yuu-kun responds by saying he needs to try harder then.
Aww poor thing.
Eitaro has brought MC a gift, a wine from the year she was born. She’s rather happy as this is the first time she’s received a gift like this. He gives her a glass and invites her to drink it. MC enjoys it but she remembers Cassie’s earlier words. Wanting to push the doubt aside she has some more and before she knows it the bottle is empty. She starts to feel the alcohol in her head and blurts that she wishes Okura had come.
Shut up you drunkard.
MC is surprised and wants to know why he’s come and he replies he was at Kabukicho just before. Okura takes out a water bottle and offers it to MC. MC is grateful because she was thirsty, and wonders if she is drunk but then extreme sleepiness hits her.
Oh dear.
MC wakes up with a great headache, and in a love hotel. She realises someone has dragged her there and quickly checks her clothes and doesn’t find anything amiss. She hears the shower running. She grabs her things and prepares to run but notices something, and deduces that it belongs to whoever is in the shower right now. She doesn’t have much time but searches the room.
Evidence gathered
Small camera
Sleeping pills in medicine case
Special design condoms
Hotel loyalty card
Memo
The shower stops running and MC makes a run for it. Now in a taxi, MC realises the hotel was not far from the hanami location. She deduces that one of the attendees gave her the sleeping pill and brought her to the hotel. But, what’s odd is that she found the dropped special hospital design medicine cases. It is a new design, only released January this year. When MC reaches into her pocket she finds something.
Evidence gathered
Braid with a golden clasp
She thinks back to the hanami event and comes up with three suspects – Wataya-kun who gave her a supplement drink, Eitaro who gave her the wine, or Okura who gave her the water. She abruptly realises that these are the same three men who came running into Kurumi’s room that time.
The next day after work MC doesn’t feel like going home so bides time at a café near the hospital. Although she has her three suspects she doesn’t feel she has enough evidence and goes on FindFriend to see what everyone was doing yesterday.
Evidence gathered
Yuu-kun’s FindFriend screenshot
Eitaro’s FindFriend screenshot 2
Wataya-kun’s FindFriend screenshot
Trigger warning: mention of rape
MC finishes up on her phone and realises that one of the three men is a date rapist. She contacts them to come meet her and knows that if she leaves that scum to be free that there will be other victims and she needs to stop them at all costs.
So who do you think the liar is?

DOUBT PART
Karen shows up in her normal clothes (not yukata) and MC wonders why she bothered to get changed. MC is guessing Karen is going to try and leave before dawn. MC accuses her of being the intended recipient of the large amounts of marijuana from Kurosu. Karen asks MC to stop talking worthless nonsense.
MC: Before we met up, where were you?
Karen: At Kusatsu onsen. The water was really the best.
MC: Isn’t that a lie?
Prove Karen didn’t go to the onsen
Bus timetable
MC: If you look at the bottom, the bus going to the onsen runs on Sundays and public holidays only. Today is Saturday, there’s no bus going there!
Karen: Uh! Oh I remember, I didn’t go there because there was no bus. I actually went to the herb garden. I’m a bit shaken up from the gun fight earlier so I forgot.
MC: Didn’t you actually go here?
Where did Karen actually go?
A. Kusatsu Ryokan
B. Koani village
C. Yamao village
Answer: B
MC: You actually went to Koani village, right?
Karen: Koani? I’ve never heard of that.
MC pulls out the “photo of Karen in flower field.”
MC: You put this photo up on FindFriend. In there, there is a sign that writes “Koani.”
Karen: Hm? So that’s the place name, I thought it was just the plant’s name. Why are you so fussed with where I go? I’m free to do as I please.
MC: The reason is because Koani village is the place where marijuana is cultivated!
Karen: No way, don’t spout something like that.
MC pulls out the photo of the letter.
MC: I found this in the house of someone who used marijuana quite a while back.
What proves Koani village is where cannabis is grown?
Kanekoshi’s profile screenshot
MC: The person who wrote that letter and provided him with the drugs, is the same person who commented on your photo!
Karen: No way~ I don’t know someone like that.
MC: Stop lying! In the letter it says he grows his own in his greenhouse and then on his profile, his address is written as Koani village. In other words, the Koani village you were in is the growing place of marijuana!
Karen: Really.. first I’ve heard of it.
MC: You were the intended recipient of the marijuana right?!
Karen: I have zero idea what you’re talking about. After all, that Kurosu guy was in the main building right? I was in the separate building, drinking sake in my room by myself. I had nothing to do with it.
MC: -pulls out Karen’s FF photo- The room in this photo isn’t from the separate building though?
Karen: What do you mean? Yes it is.
Show evidence the room in the photo is not Karen’s room
Onsen poster
When MC shows Karen the poster, she disses the “lame” character on it.
MC: What I wanted you to look at is the elevator buttons. I took this in the other building and there’s no button for the 4th floor! In your photo there are the keys for room 401, but the 4th floor doesn’t exist!
What say you now, Karen?
MC: Because “4” is considered bad luck, new buildings like the non-main building don’t have a 4th floor.
Karen: Alright, this photo was taken in the main building.
MC: There are two glasses. Who were you with?
Karen: A member of the Ryumon gang. During the time of the supposed exchange, I was drinking with a member of the gang.
MC: You weren’t drinking with a member of the Ryumon gang, but actually a member of the Toranomon gang weren’t you?
Karen: Ugh, count it out already! What is it that you have against me? MC: I don’t have anything against you. I’ve always thought of you as my close friend.
Karen: Then…
MC: Because of that, I want you to tell me the truth!
FINAL CHOICE
Show proof that Karen actually met with a member of Toranomon
Memo dropped by Toranomon
MC: This memo was dropped by a Toranomon member. On first glance it looks like a poem, but it really means:
“the time the dog cries” – the dog means 8pm when using the zodiacs
“the place where the sun sets in the west” – means the room 401, which has “setting sun” in the name
And “to exchange glasses” – the glasses are a hidden code word for marijuana
MC: In other words this memo means –
Karen interrupts MC, laughing.
Karen: Let’s do the exchange at 8pm, at the setting sun room 401. To understand the hidden meaning of a romantic poem like this, you’ve really grown up MC. Just as you’ve said, the one who is in contact with Toranomon for drugs… is me.
MC: Why?! We made a promise!!
Karen: “No matter what happens we won’t be involved in wrongdoings”? Ahaha! Stop it, you’re making me laugh! MC, you’re too carefree. “Never get involved in wrongdoings”, that’s so obviously impossible. From when we were born, to when we die our whole life we are yakuza women!! We don’t wish for an ordinary happiness, don’t you already feel that MC? Why don’t you just cut it out, wake up and stop dreaming?
MC feels that for herself, she definitely wanted to find her normal happiness and is shocked. Karen takes a step closer to MC. Karen asks if together from now on, they enjoy the yakuza life and holds out the bag of marijuana.
Karen: Come on, I’ll teach you how to sell this.
MC: Don’t make fun of me. Never underestimate a yakuza woman!!
*SLAP*
Karen falls. She glares at MC while holding her cheek.
Karen: What the hell are you doing?!
MC: You use being a yakuza as an excuse but aren’t you really just doing this for the money? Someone who doesn’t even have any humanity doesn’t qualify as calling herself a yakuza woman! (yes, she really did say something like this)
Karen looks regretful and loss for words.
Karen: You’re always looking away and trying to turn a blind eye, you yourself don’t have the qualifications either to call yourself a yakuza woman.
MC: That’s true. But, thanks to you I’ve realised.
Karen is confused. MC reflects on how she wanted an ordinary happiness no matter what. However, she is thinking that perhaps it’s something she said, in order to look away from the fate that is out of her control. From now, she won’t run away from the real MC. MC looks Karen straight on.
MC: I’ll be a yakuza by whole life? That’s fine then. I’ll just prove that even if I’m a yakuza woman I can still obtain my happiness!
Karen looks surprised. Relief washes over MC. She can’t believe how facing her real self feels like a huge weight off her shoulders. She has no reason to lie to those around her anymore. Karen apologises, and admits she didn’t forget her promise with MC but because of various happenings, she lost to her own weakness. Karen sadly tells her she won’t ask to go back to being friends but asks MC to not fully disown her. Karen again renews her promise to never be involved in wrongdoing.
MC warns it’s not that she fully forgives Karen for what she’s done, but that she can consult with and lean on MC in future. Karen thanks MC and MC pats her on her back as Karen weeps.
Ichimura-sensei enters the room advising MC to pack her bags. Her mother has woken. Yuu-kun rushes in the room declaring that if they hurry, they can make the last train out. Karen gives MC her phone which she almost forget, and tells her to be careful.
At the station, Ichimura-sensei has already notified MC’s father and Okura who will be driving straight to the hospital (wait why didn’t they take MC and co?). MC asks Ichimura-sensei when he knew about her family (being yakuza). He reveals he had a hunch when he first saw MC’s mother (?) but reassures MC he sees her as a precious subordinate and someone he can trust and this won’t change going forward.
They rush to the hospital. MC hugs her mother after she recognises her. In that moment, MC cries years’ worth of tears. Weakly, her mother tells her to listen. She breathes “Not… your father…” and “That day… the person… COUGH.” Ichimura-sensei intervenes, calling it dangerous for her to overexert herself after years of being in a coma. MC’s mother repeats the message. MC’s father bursts into the room and he asks if she can see him, and she replies she can see her beloved (aww). He grasps her hand while tears appear in his eyes. MC thinks about how this is the first time she saw her father cry. Her mother tells both MC and her father that she is extremely happy when all of a sudden, the monitor starts erratic beeping.
Ichimura-sensei orders everyone to back away and calls MC to get supplies from next door. MC vows to save her mother.
After several hours, they are covering MC’s mother with white cloth. Ichimura-sensei tried his best but they couldn’t save her. MC’s father sits next to her whilst Okura stands by the door. Her father recounts that he met MC’s mother, Sayuri 30 years ago. MC doesn’t want to hear it but he continues. When he became the leader of the Ryumon gang Sayuri was pregnant with MC. The day he found out he was over the moon, they were both so happy they cried. In order to protect MC they both agreed to live separate lives (idk if they mean actual separate, or him in the gang and Sayuri living fairly ordinary). He declared he loved Sayuri and still does and always will, and the same goes for MC. He says that him loving MC is the one thing Sayuri would have wanted. MC is overwhelmed with emotion and cries with everything she has.

DOUBT PART
MC goes back to bar and brings Tokiwa-kun to the hallway. He thinks she is too shy to respond to his earlier question out there so brought him there (ㆀ˘・_・˘) MC turns him down and accuses him of being the one who gave her a fake note at the drinking party. She says that he is connected to Li Zhong though he denies it.
Show evidence that he knows Li Zhong
Tokiwa-kun’s FF screenshot
MC points out that Tokiwa-kun knows all the people who have commented on his post right? He responds obviously. But MC knows that one of the three people who have commented are connected to Li Zhong.
Who is connected to Li Zhong?
A. Yada Kimi
B. Seto Satoshi
C. Arisugawa Nagi (ahahahaha ring any bells?)
Answer: B
Tokiwa-kun rebuts that they are just friends but challenges her to go ahead and explain.
Find proof of the type of relationship Li Zhong and Seto Satoshi have
Newspaper
MC shows him the newspaper and he starts reading the headline about some celebrity’s(?) wedding but she points out the article on Li Zhong and that he uses a fake passport, and the fake name he is going by in Japan is Seto Satoshi.
The many expressions of Tokiwa-kun
Tokiwa-kun tries to explain it away saying there could be numerous people with that name and it could be a completely different person. MC points out that Tokiwa-kun’s friend (Seto Satoshi) uses and posts on FF every single day, yet there’s nothing since March 9th and why is that?
Tokiwa-kun relents and admits that Seto Satoshi is his acquaintance but that’s all. MC tells him that even after Li Zhong was arrested the counterfeit notes were still making an appearance and pulls out the café photo.
MC: You posted this on March 14th on FindFriend. This is the café “cheeky coffee” in Shinjuku and you used a counterfeit note there made by Li Zhong!
Tokiwa-kun: Oh yeah, so? You’re mistaken because I didn’t go to the Shinjuku branch, but the one in Omotesando.
MC: Nope, you definitely went to the one in Shinjuku!
Where in the photo shows that Tokiwa-kun went to the Shinjuku branch NOT Omotesando?
A. Menu
B. Drink
C. Coaster
Answer: C
MC: This coaster is a limited edition given out only at the second store (the Shinjuku branch).
MC pulls out Ami’s FF screenshot where it shows that the Omotesando store’s theme is ume, while the second store (Shinjuku) is bamboo and his coaster has the bamboo logo on it!
Tokiwa-kun: Oh really? Ugh. Even if I was at the Shinjuku branch that day there’s no proof that I used a counterfeit note.
MC elaborates that the counterfeit note was used by a male who came in alone, between the time of 11:30 and 12:30 and that it must be him.
He starts laughing and exclaims that this is why he hates idiotic women. He claims that it was his first time there, and that he went at night, not at lunch time. MC refutes this but he rebuffs by saying she has no proof. MC exclaims it’s right there in the photo.
FINAL CHOICE
Which part shows that Tokiwa-kun went to the Shinjuku store, at lunchtime on March 14th?
A. Mirror
B. Themometer
C. Calendar
Answer: A
MC: Look at the mirror! At first look the time seems to be 21:51 but really since it is reflected, it’s actually 12:15 and you were there at lunch!
Tokiwa-kun: Ugh so this is how it ends huh.
MC: So you admit that you used the counterfeit notes you got from Li Zhong?
Tokiwa-kun admits it and that he was the one who handed MC one at the drinking party, and the one who used it at the café. MC suppresses her anger and calmly asks him why he did all this and his replies that it’s obviously because he’s money hungry and that money gets you everything, status, etc. and women. He sees the way MC is looking at him and goes “don’t tell me you thought I was serious about you?”
Tokiwa-kun: You’re such an idiot, the type of woman I hate the most are strong-willed ones like you.
MC tells him to cut it out, and declares he should never underestimate a yakuza woman.
*SLAP*
She berates him for dirtying his hands, when he was studying dutifully as a medical intern and exclaims she feels disdain for him from the very bottom of her heart. Tokiwa-kun expresses that it’s rich coming from her and MC doesn’t know what he’s talking about. He asserts that he knows her true self and that she is the daughter of the boss of the Ryumon gang and that even just now she called herself a yakuza woman. He also confesses that he only got close to her because she is the affiliated with the yakuza because thus all have money and that if he could bring her down then he would atain all the money he needs.
She wants to know how he knew and he answers that it’s because she “gave off the same feel” as him. He relents that now he’s been exposed he probably has to go flee overseas, but that it was really comforting at the share house “playing happy families” but she can see that he does look a bit sad and questions if there were other circumstances to his actions, because the Tokiwa-kun she knows is cheeky but kind and smart and wouldn’t take risks like this.
He gets angry with her talking like she knows him and doesn’t want to hear anymore and imparts a “goodbye, you lying woman” before leaving the club. MC feels pain in her chest and is unable to get a wink of sleep that night.
The next morning she knocks on his door but there’s no response.
She finds a letter on the desk with “To MC” on it and inside it writes that he has turned himself in and that he will never return to the share house or see MC again. He reveals that he’s left something in the box for MC and finishes with a goodbye. Opening the box, she finds a necklace and she realises it must be what he had wanted to give to her the time that he called out to her on the staircase. She thinks back on her past conversations with him and doesn’t think that he meant the things he spoke yesterday but it’s too late to ask him in person. She puts on the necklace and leaves the room.
The news has broken out and reporters are gathered outside the hospital. Amongst other things, they want a comment from his father since he is a doctor. The staff are gossiping inside the hospital, MC retreats the staffroom and reflects on how there are 5 liars remaining. She throws herself into her work.

DOUBT PART
MC is staring at Wataya-kun who asks what’s up? And has she found out the culprit. She points out that he arrived so quickly after her near accident and says her thanks, but wants to know how he got here so fast. She wonders if he was nearby watching, he laughs and points out that would be like he had tied the rope in the first place to which MC accuses him of doing so.
Prove Wataya-kun was the one who set up the rope
Wataya-kun’s plants
MC: The way the rope was tied was quite unique, and it matches the knots you can see in the photo you sent me!
Wataya-kun: Hmm, it does look the same as the way I tie it, but I have no reason to hurt you MC.
(Lol and is Sumika just quietly standing on the side of all this?)
MC: Your motive is retaliation against me for not going along with your two timing plans.
Wataya-kun: What are you talking about? I’m not even dating any-
Uh oh.
Sumika: Why are you lying?!
MC: I heard from Sumika that you two are dating.
Wataya-kun: NO! WE’RE NOT!
What do you point out to make Wataya-kun admit him and Sumika are together?
A. The fact Sumika knows him well
B. His hobby is looking after plants
C. He gave her the leather charm
Answer: C
MC: You gave her the leather charm right?
Wataya-kun: I have no memory of such a thing.
MC: But the ‘bookmark’ you are using in the photo of the book you sent me, is a matching charm with her?
Wataya-kun: That… looks to be the case. I guess we just happen to own a similar thing, that doesn’t mean we are dating.
Show evidence that his and Sumika’s charms are a matching pair
Kazemiya-kun’s FindFriend screenshot
MC: I saw this advert on FindFriend. These two leather charms come as a pair, and are even only sold to couples. Therefore, didn’t you go together to buy this?
Wataya-kun: U-uhhh… Wait I got it, Shito-san went with someone else to buy this, then gave it to me. That’s why I don’t remember buying this.
(Why doesn’t Sumika say anything? LOL)
MC: Stop playing dumb! I saw you too walking together the day this was sold.
Wataya-kun: No! That day I was at home.
Prove Wataya-kun was on a date with Sumika during Golden Week
Photo of instant ramen
MC: This photo Sumika sent me was taken at your house wasn’t it?
Wataya-kun: N-no..
MC: In this photo, there is a mark on the table identical to the mark in the photo of your book. Don’t you think it’s too coincidental for there to be multiple tables with the same mark in the same place?
Wataya-kun: D-Damn IT… You’re being seriously annoying. Coworkers can go to each other’s houses can’t they?
MC: It’s not common that a man and a woman are together late at night though (I disagree).
Wataya-kun: So being in the same room in the middle of the night automatically makes you lovers! Don’t make me laugh. I thought I’d play around for a bit because she’s pretty but she’s surprisingly inexperienced.
MC is reaching her limit on holding it in because he’s making fun of Sumika while laughing even.
MC: If you’re going to say that much then I will show you something that you can’t explain away.
FINAL CHOICE
What’s something Wataya-kun can only know precisely because he’s in an intimate relationship with Sumika?
A. Sumika’s back injury
B. Sumika’s past loves
C. Sumika’s cooking ability
Answer: A
MC: Previously I coincidentally saw Sumika’s back injury while we were getting changed. You were worried about it right?
(Ahaha come on he fell for it)
Wataya-kun: Ah, yeah the bruise looked pretty painful.
MC: Wait a second, I only mentioned it was an injury, not a bruise.
MC: And it’s something you would only know by looking (by having the clothes off). So how did you know?
(Ugh got scared by this)
Wataya-kun: You trying to ruin me?!
MC: On top of trying to two time, you pointlessly retaliated against me trying to hurt me… you really are a piece of trash.
Wataya-kun: Damn it, my plan was a perfect. How did you get out of it unscathed?
MC: How? You got scared at the last second and saved me you mean?
(Note: he is alternating between the normal expression and his crazed one up there but I don’t wanna keep putting it in)
Wataya-kun: HUH? As if I would do that. Don’t say something STUPID (don’t know how to do his aggressive talk)
Sumika: -walks forward- Wataya-kun, no – Shun, calm down.
Wataya-kun: Shut up, you shut up!
When he pushes Sumika away MC has had enough and snaps.
MC: Cut that the hell out!
Wataya-kun: HUH?! Shut-
MC: Never underestimate a yakuza woman!
*SLAP*
Wataya-kun falls on his butt to the floor
Wataya-kun: What are you looking at?! You better not be looking down on me!!
He raises his hand but Sumika steps in in front of MC. Sumika tells him to stop it already, and he berates her for interfering and that MC is in their way. She denies it and says that Wataya Shunsuke likes MC. He first goes “what are you spouting?!” before:
All of sudden he grips his head and is confused about where he is. Sumika is now calling him Wataya-kun instead of Shun and asks him if he has a split personality (dissociative identity disorder). He has no idea what she is talking about but then suddenly appears to be in pain, and turns into “aggressive” Wataya-kun. The two sides of him seem to fight and he stares at the floor dumbfounded in the end…
After that, MC is walking home with Sumika. She admits that she had an inkling about his disorder and MC queries if she restarted her psychology studies because of it. Sumika confirms it but it seems that if he acknowledges the split personality then the aggressive side may disappear. In that case Sumika is conflicted on who she will support to survive (what). MC reassures her and Sumika apologises.
Cassie runs into them and Sumika wonders who it is lol. Cassie declares that two of them have overcome a big obstacle. Cassie says that no matter how difficult it was, the two of them have built a new level of trust. Cassie calls out Sumika as having a face of “the most unhappy person in the world” and reassures her that she should have courage and a bright future is ahead. Cassie then turns to MC and announces that it would be good for the day to come when MC reveals her secret. Sumika is curious but understands MC doesn’t want to share at this stage, but she is welcome to if she should change her mind. MC wonders if such a day where her secret is out will come.
MC thinks back on what happened after the accusation with Wataya-kun. He is confused that sometimes he loses his memory and he’s even seen the hospital counsellor but apparently in order for it to get better it’s going to get worse first(?). He doesn’t want to cause MC and Sumika any further trouble so will be moving his counselling to a different hospital.
It returns to the present and Sumika confesses she was deliberating whether to show MC or not, and shows her a website with the title “how to make multiple personalities” which she has stumbled upon during her research. What’s written there matches Wataya-kun exactly…. They are both shocked but Sumika believes it is written by someone with no medical knowledge (how?) and is likely just written from imagination but if it were real….
She doesn’t finish the thought but MC thinks it would be written by the doctor in charge of the counselling. MC feels unsettled. MC continues on her way home.
-end-

DOUBT PART
Next day MC meets Hime-chan at the hospital, she’s still wearing a mask and MC figures that she’s been unwell since her travels.
MC says that when Hime-chan is suffering she wants to be able to help, but she denies being ill or that anything is wrong. MC then asks her to explain her lie.
Pick evidence to show that Hime-chan didn’t go to the onsen
Onsen manju
MC points out that yesterday she received strawberry daifuku that can only be bought from the shop outside the hospital. The onsen manju she received from Hime-chan has the same shop name on it. MC says that she must have bought it so that they would believe she went to the onsen.
Hime-chan: Ummm… oh! Actually I forgot to buy souvenirs for everyone so I bought that. Sorry, I didn’t mean to lie about it.
MC: I saw your FF post the day you went to the onsen, this part is a little strange though don’t you think?
What part is strange about Hime-chan’s FF post?
A. Date
B. Place
C. Birthday date
Answer: B
MC: If you look carefully at the post, the location is tagged as Santa Monica. You actually went to USA didn’t you?
Hime-chan hesitates, before admitting she did. When MC pushes her to answer why she lied she said she didn’t want others to be jealous as they would be working while she’s travelling. MC says there’s more that she’s lying about though.
What else is Hime-chan lying about?
A. She’s working hard on her diet
B. She lived in Fukuoka during her 20s
C. The song was popular when she was in her 20s
Answer: C
MC points out that Hime-chan said Valentine Kiss was popular when Hime-chan was in her 20s, but that song was a hit in the 80s. Hime-chan says it was so long ago she doesn’t remember. MC asks if Hime-chan is really just lying about her age and:
Hime-chan isn’t happy about that! She insists she is 30.
MC: But if the song was popular in your 20s then that would make you 50 someth-
Hime-chan: STOP!!! If you say anymore I will be pissed!!
MC accuses Hime-chan of not only lying about her age, but her name as well. Your real name is Toyama Nobu, right?
Hime-chan declines knowing anyone with that name.
Pick evidence that shows Hime-chan is Toyama Nobu
Passport Copy
MC asks if the copy that was dropped belongs to Hime-chan. She denies it, again saying she doesn’t know who that is and her name is Reiko Himeno. However, MC points out that the birthday on that copy says February 11th, the same day as Hime-chan’s birthday. Hime-chan deflects by saying it’s likely coincidence.
At this point Hime-chan is breathing heavily. MC stares at the copy once more and realises something.
FINAL CHOICE
Pick evidence that definitively shows they are the same person
Photo of recipe
MC: The note you wrote is in this photo. (Note: this next part is kind of hard to explain but I’ll try..) Hime-chan has a habit, where she write the 土 portion of words as 士 (bottom stroke should be longer). In the passport copy, the kanji 遠 that makes up part of the name has the 土 up top but has been written as 士 which is the same way Hime-chan would write it and therefore proves they are the same person.
Hime-chan is angry and starts calling out MC (about being young and knowing nothing) and calling her a b##ch lol. MC wants her to calm down and go for a health check up.
Hime-chan: LIKE. I. SAID. I’m not ill!!!
MC says that she recognises the effort Hime-chan puts into her beauty but with age there is increasing risk with different kinds of illnesses. Hime-chan is offended, saying that since MC is so young she wouldn’t understand and she won’t allow her to meddle any further.
MC tells her to wake up and
*SLAP*
Hime-chan falls to the floor and:
Σ(゜ロ゜;) !!!
Hime-chan screams. MC asks if she’s had plastic surgery and she denies it saying she hasn’t changed since “that time.” Hime-chan falls, and MC is alarmed, covering her mask back up for her and takes her to see Ichimura-sensei.
MC is on her way home, Hime-chan has regained consciousness again and has been admitted to hospital. MC never thought it would be plastic surgery (side effects) rather than a serious illness. Ichimura-sensei says that Hime-chan needs treatment, and her condition would have worsened had MC not brought her in.
When MC returns home:
Tokiwa-kun: MC, who’s that? They have a really ominous aura.
It’s Okura, who MC is surprised to see. He is moving into the share house.

DOUBT PART
Kazemiya-kun is happy that MC has come directly to him to talk, but really she just wants to set things straight. She doesn’t believe he has a child but can’t really explain it otherwise. She doesn’t feel a child’s presence in the room. She tells him she found a nappy in the bathroom and she accuses him of owning it though he denies it.
Q1. How do you know the nappy is his?
A. He’s on rubbish duty today
B. The bathroom order list
C. The impression (he gives)
Answer: B
MC points out that his turn to use the bathroom was before her. He says that before him was Tokiwa-kun so it could have been him (or even Yuu-kun).
Pick evidence that shows it wasn’t Tokiwa-kun or Yuu-kun
Sharehouse TalkTime screenshot
The screenshot shows that Tokiwa-kun had offered to take out the bin (midway through the shower order, instead of just MC doing it at the end) as it was already filling up. He says okay even if it was me what’s so wrong with that? But MC’s problem is why he threw out a nappy. She accuses him of having a child.
Pick evidence that Kazemiya-kun has a child
Dummy
MC asks why he has that in his room and he says it was part of the childhood things that his family had sent to him. MC claims she’s forgotten so he should say it again. He explains that his mother sent it to him about one week ago along with clothes and stuffed toys. MC notices something off with what he said.
Which part is a lie?
A. His mother sent it to him
B. It was sent one week ago
C. There were also clothes and stuffed toys
Answer: A
MC had seen on FindFriend that his mother had passed away (his brother’s FF screenshot mentioned that himself, his brother and their dad had visited on the 20 year anniversary).
Kazemiya-kun sweating it up.
Kazemiya-kun: Oops I made a mistake, my brother sent it to me. It’s the dummy I used when I was young, I don’t have a kid!
MC: You used it when you were young? THAT’S A LIE!
FINAL CHOICE
Pick evidence that shows it wasn’t from when he was young
Mascot keyring
The character was only from an anime last year, and his dummy has the same character printed on it (damn that’s unfortunate!). He no longer can deny that he purchased both the dummy and nappy. She says he’s awful for lying about, and hiding his child. He still says he doesn’t have one. She asks what it would take for him to take responsibility but he says he hates children and definitely doesn’t want to look after any. She thinks he’s awful, especially because if he’s hiding the child in his room they would definitely be able to hear the conversation.
MC: ENOUGH!!
Never underestimate a yakuza woman!
*SLAP*
Kazemiya-kun: oww (in baby speak)
She’s grossed out and asks him to take her to the kid. He still says there isn’t one and she asks why there’s the dummy and nappy and that no way he’d be the one….
MC: *ohhhhhhhh wait*
Ewwwwww!
Kazemiya-kun: Yep, I use it myself. I have no interest in kids but I want MC to look after me like a mother!
MC: I’m not your mum!
Kazemiya-kun: But you looked after me when I had a fever and soothed me.
MC says she has no complaints about people’s own hobbies (etc.) but she is against her being used without her say so. She runs off while he screams mama!! (ㆀ˘・_・˘)
After MC’s bath she runs into him in the kitchen and she’s like gah Σ(゜ロ゜;) He apologises for getting carried away and for causing any bad memories. MC says she will keep quiet about it and move on, and wishes that he can find someone important to him.
Bed time and MC reflects again on what Cassie said, and that Kazemiya-kun must be another one of the liars, leaving 7 liars. She thinks it’s tiring but is willing to do what it takes to find her “peaceful happiness.” She then drifts off to sleep.
