NO FRRRRR taking naps together in the trees... she's probably very warm, perfect for cuddling with. her tail (very soft, thick, and fluffy!!) curls around your waist and legs while you sleep on her shoulder or chest. do you think she purrs? maybe she purrs. idk. many big cats can't purr, and i don't know what cat xilonen's features are inspired by, but i think it would be cute if she could. so you are lulled to sleep by the deep rumbling in her chest. her nails gently raking along your scalp. and if you happen to share her part-feline features, you guys are just a warm ball of vibrating fluff; both of you are purring, perfectly content curled up in the trees. ough... yeah.

i’m giggling at the idea of the house of the hearth kids thinking of the other harbingers as aunties and uncles. mostly scaramouche (pre-archon quest ofc) being increasingly annoyed at being called uncle balladeer by a group of kids. (he’s lying when he says he dislikes them. bro has a soft spot for kids he can’t fool me.)

OHHH AND CHILDE. childe who is canonically a great brother, he would make such a fun uncle. he’d feel so overjoyed if any of them called him that to his face. he would also give them planets of treats and sugary snacks and then send them back to arlecchino LMAO

pantalone would be amused by it i think, he’d probably buy them lots of cool stuff to win favourite uncle. (also pantalone’s child and house of the hearth [name] would get along so well oml. they’re the cousins that are just besties.)

i’m just thinking about what if dottore had a child who was just like. like him. not like the whole… sadistic human experimentation part, but just a kid who was a Weird Little Freak of a child. the kind that had big bug eyes and would just stare at people without saying a word, the kind that say the most unsettling shit with a completely straight face, leaving you to wonder what they mean by it. the one that would scare the other kids in the playground away, just so they can play in peace.

idk but i just know that if dottore had a child, they would be the weirdest little kid. no doubt in my mind. (he’d still be super proud of how they turned out though.)

WEIRD LITTLE FREAK CHILD AND DOTTORE IS SO REAL DUDE dottore himself was a weird little freak child (probably. Idk actually. i'm guessing he was based on what lore we do have about him), so i think he would have a very strong fondness for a kid that is also like that. and you're sooo right about that; dottore's child would undoubtedly be the strangest little one on the playground. but it's ok because he likes them and no-one else has to <3

i also feel as if dottore's child would also just be unnervingly smart for a kid their age. perhaps he actually doesn't directly expose them to the horrors of his experiments; it's not because he's hiding it 🤷‍♀️ they know exactly what he does, they just don't get to witness it firsthand. instead, i think it's because he would probably be pretty aware of how child development works. so he still teaches them very thoroughly about a wide variety of topics. he just uhhh... he teaches them about human anatomy and other related subjects the normal way instead of straight up showing them. Yeah. maybe when they're not like 7 years old, the method of teaching will change. but for now they probably don't need to see all that!

i fear i have flown too close to the sun. my reader in the fic i am writing is dangerously close to being an oc at this point. IT WASNT INTENTIONAL but like. for PLOT reasons they needed a little bit of a backstory, and i kind of.. just kept adding to it?

it’s for the obanai & teen!reader one i’m writing (that i might have mentioned to you?) and the whole idea is what if obanai found a kid who had scars like his, and they became like a little sibling to him. and then i was like wait… no that’s too simple, there has to be more. so i thought, okay, what if they wore a mask to hide them (like he does his bandages). and then of course i had to research different japanese masks (we’re going for as close to historical/cultural accuracy as we can here) and i learnt about how masks are used in theatre… and japanese theatre is actually really interesting??? so of course i had to incorporate it. and oh wow now there’s a plot involving a theatre troupe, mysterious murders, obanai tracking down a demon, and [name] struggling with their place in a village that treats them as a monster. + found family because of course. i barely know how i got here.

anyway… it was meant to be a oneshot but i think i could stretch it into a mini-series with the amount of notes and planning i have right now 😭😭😭

sigh... kagaya... he's such a character.... he's just so patient and kind, and he just radiates fatherly energy even though he's only in his mid-twenties?? (i guess growing up too quickly will do that to a person...)

but i feel like he treats all of the corps members with such care. it doesn't matter whether they are a hashira or a kakashi, they are all his children. (i mean he canonically remembers every single member of the corps, and visits their graves, so... i'm not far off.)

i wrote some of this in my comfort hcs a little while back but he is just like. the definition of a comfort character, he is such a comforting presence. like, i feel like you could go to him for any reason, big or small, and he'd just smile gently and say exactly what he needs to make you feel better. it's scarily effective too. you could go to him mid-panic attack and walk away feeling lighter than you've ever felt in your life.

i think he'd still be a bit strict with the demon slayers following protocol and staying safe though, especially the younger ones. it's 100% out of a place of care, but he doesn't want them to be needlessly reckless, they're in a dangerous job as it is. avoidable deaths are only another weight on his shoulders.

if they do disobey the rules on purpose? he is the master of the 'i'm not angry. i'm just disappointed.' it's like a sucker punch, knocking all of the air out of their lungs. ESPECIALLY effective on the younger members and/or the new recruits, but honestly his disappointed expression could make a hashira crumble.

THAT LAST PARTTTTT 🥺 he invented the "i'm not mad, just disappointed" expression i swear... or that shit was invented for him!!!!!! i feel as if his disappointed expression is just so remarkably effective because he's rarely seen with anything other than that serene smile of his; seeing his face change, his smile pressed into a thin line as he ponders on how to go about speaking to the cause of his disappointment... let alone BEING that person. no way being the cause of that expression on his face does not feel like all of your bones have just been shattered.

ahh but as long as they've learned their lesson, i don't see him as being one to hold onto those feelings. instead he's very soft when he goes to caress the top of their head, murmuring about how he knows they can do better, how he knows that they will. that they are not a bad child (he could be talking to an adult older than HIM and i just know he would still say this) for breaking the protocols but that they need to understand that those protocols are in place for theirs and everyone else's protection because a tomorrow is already not promised in this career, and that he's only doing what he can, setting these protocols in place to make it more likely. gently, kindly explaining why what they did was wrong, irresponsible, and why it upset him so much. I'm so fragile about this man.
