I went into rewatching Steven Universe thinking Lapis and Jasper was a metaphor for abuse and reactive abuse, but no they just wrote an abusive relationship and the recovery of it.

Basically that is how High Tide would appear in the K.FP universe: big hat, scarf-like tissue to cover his mouth and a cape (that I unfortunately didn’t manage to draw it... let’s pretend it’s in his back so I feel less bad about it ahsnksk) as his equipment to travel through China. The most he’d show is his eyes (briefly) and his armor-like body, pulling the cloth in his mouth down only to eat.

... I think I did his scarf way too thorn but... oh well babdkdlx that will do!!

Though I have threads/asks to get to, I'm curious if one of these would catch anyone's attention. I know sending in sentence starters isn't always up everyone's alley and it's a little harder when it comes to interacting with a character who's canonically dead in present day, like mine. Although (I need to write up the details for the first iteration of it) I do have her resurrected in a present timeline (see tags). If you're interested in me either coming to you, or fishing up something with a bit of a red line, give this a like and I'll see what I can do! Trust me when I say, if we're mutuals, I'm interested in writing with you. See this as a little cheat to grab my attention if you want it!

    “ Oh, you're up now! ”  Lapis commented, seeing her previous opponent conscious again as she passes through the medical tent.  “ I saw you get taken in here earlier, but you didn't look so good. The healers made it seem like it'd be a no-go to approach you, but if you're up now, are you feeling better? ”

She in truth had no idea what actually had gotten him defeated. There wasn't an obvious wound that she could see from far away, and there were all manners of weaponry and spells being deployed on the mock battlefield.

“ As you know, I got out earlier, so I'm feeling much better. ”  If there was any ill will, she wasn't expressing it.  “ So if you need something or somebody fetched for you, I can go do that, no problem. Things are a little crazy around here right now, so I don't mind helping out! ”

As if to prove it, she puts up both of her fists, lightly flexing her arms.

He was only a touch surprised when the pink-haired girl approached him in the medical tent - seemed the type not to hold a grudge. What did surprise Raven was the indication from her that she was looking out for him, watching his physical state, the offering of favors.

He tried not to show it on his face, but it wasn't something he was accustomed to.

The flex was endearing, and Raven couldn't help that the corner of his mouth quirked upward.

"You hardly look like you've been through a battle, let alone lost one." It wasn't said with any bite, and might have bordered on a tease. Indeed, she looked as hale as ever, the bustling energy of someone who wanted something to do. He shook his head; "Sorry to disappoint, but - "

A pause, his eyes flicking to the kit that had been stripped from him.

"Actually, hang on."

Moving about wasn't so huge an effort that it might have showed how tired he still was, but Raven rose from his cot nevertheless, taking the two long strides to where his equipment propped against the wall, including the dull metal of a shield unfamiliar to his normal fighting style.

Hefting it in his grip, he turned to face her, and extended the shield back to its original owner. "It...served me well, when it served at all. But..." A shake of his head. "Perhaps it missed you."

He cocked his head when the shield settled back into her hands, and with a sigh he situated himself back onto his cot. "You know, on second thought, I am still feeling...tired. Would you mind grabbing that flagon of juice for me? And...maybe two cups."

(hi queen!) Even with a map, these hallways are just about impossible to navigate. A confusing layout does well in delaying intruders, Alcryst muses. Someone like him, in a place as grand and storied as Garreg Mach? The monastery does its best to push him out, as it is right to, but Alcryst still persists. He won't go anywhere else until he sees her face, the kind eyes of someone who has become as close as family. There are many pink-haired girls studying here, but only one particular shade grabs his attention.

"Lapis?" Her association with the color red is so strong it's striking not to see her in it now, but there's no doubt that the uniform suits someone as strong and talented as her. A smile comes out unexpectedly, though Alcryst tries his best to tone it down. It's been some time since Lapis last saw him with his terrible smile—the last thing he wants to do is scare her.

She was still getting to used to the monastery -- to the routine of classes and meals and training sessions all dictated by the bellowing of the church bells. It wasn't bad. Far from it, really. But it was still a change, and she still had no idea who she was supposed to be at this place. Thinking about this, she frowned. Having a nebulous identity was the norm for her. That didn't mean she was fond of it, though.

Her attention was taken from her thoughts upon the sound of her name. Her heart skipped a beat -- that voice. She whirled around then, and as her gaze rested on the one standing there, her heart fluttered as a smile bloomed on her face.

"Prince Alcryst--!" She shuffled a few short steps forward, careful not to intrude the other's personal space. To be honest, she would have loved to just leap forward one final pace to hug him, but that would be mortifying for everyone involved. "You're here!" she said, clasping her hands together in polite restraint. "I'm so glad -- when did you arrive?"

another one but hyv is quite abysmal at giving female characters .. real character flaws beyond "omg she works too much!" so in my personal canon i see ganyu as someone who is stubborn and inflexible in her thinking without ever really recognising it, stilted in conversation, (intentionally) overly formal, and not exactly .. lacking empathy but perhaps less emotionally intuitive than her interactions with the traveler would suggest (" .. [she] finds it difficult to comprehend mortal squabbles. " says the canon) .. like she might have sympathy for people going through struggles but she doesn't fully understand the how and why and the emotional weight of the daily trials that people might be going through (i also don't know that she fully has the desire to gain this understanding outside of individual cases) (this definitely extends to her own personal struggles as well though. the call is coming from inside the house)

also emotionally avoidant but still embarrassingly sensitive + frequently and easily gets flustered at her big age (massive L) and she's uptight about everyone including herself. that's a start

"My—what?" Even the ever-composed adeptus couldn't help but balk spectacularly. At least his powerful bewilderment saved him from blushing. Leo didn't deserve that satisfaction.

"D-do not speak of Rex Lapis's—!" A suspended breath caught in his throat before Xiao ahemed sharply. "Do not speak of him in such a way," he rephrased on a huff. Shock, confusion, and disgust all wrestled for control of his expression, but it was irritation that eventually triumphed. Xiao pinned the human with a glare.
