Welcome to killer!ace's list of who he would most likely try to hang out with. This is based on the killer's base info and personal thoughts (maybe some self-indulgence mixed in there too)

I have thoughts about each killer as well. I might try to put that together over time but it's gonna take a while. I personally apologize to all the monster killers- I love them all so much.

Upon first getting out, and recovering from that process, Ace goes back to his usual thing. It lasts about a year until The Trauma of the realm really knocks down his door. He ignores it until he physically or mentally cannot hold back the dam anymore. Aside from the realm, Ace has to keep an eye out for folks who want to get his ass for shit he's not followed up on or double-crossed. I imagine he tries to settle somewhere, and gets some local gig hosting or some sort of job where he can lay low from everyone altogether.

At some point down the line, he gets really lonely due to the lack of constant company the other survivors provided. I imagine that before the realm Ace had "friends" but they never lasted too long as he was constantly bouncing around to other cities. Not to mention he fucked so many of them over for cash or flat-out stole from. So as much as he was a dick to most of the survivors, they were probably his closest friends (cough found family cough) and he has ever had.

He has moments where he misses them and might poke around to see who made it out. Part of him wants to reconnect in some way, and another part wants nothing to do with any of them. He might even freak at seeing some of the survivors upon a surprise encounter.

Ace is also pushing his late 50s at that point, so he tries to deal with his addiction issues but it's difficult to do alone so it never goes well. This is the same for substance abuse with booze and smoking. If anything he does it more now in order to shut things out.

This is very long but I got thoughts...

Here are some trials thoughts!

Ace is caught sneaking into a private event being held in Buenos Aires. With WW2 freshly over, tensions are still high, resulting in those at the party accusing him of being a spy. He's interrogated for a few days until he is sent to prison. It doesn't take long for Murkoff to come by, doing a sweep of the cells for those who had "community service". A group of inmates, along with Ace, are sent over to the trial sight in America. At this time it is 1955, and with the sudden attack of Plaza de Mayo, Ace's disappearance is covered up as one of the many counted John Does from the result of the bombing. At the time of being taken, he is 35.

Upon destroying his documents, he gives himself a nickname. After being forced to look for card suit-related keys for hours, he goes with "Ace". The name also carries the first letter of his birth name and if he were to ever get out of Murkoff's hands, he would need a new one anyway.

He helps Dorris gather contraband- or at least to some degree as Ace is Ace and he's a pain in the ass sometimes- and tries to collect his own stash. With a little convincing from Lynn (@mslangermann) Ace builds a gambling pool for arm wrestling. She is the best in their group of reagents and they earn some good cash/items from the gig. He will also make deals with either party to throw the game just to spice things up. He is known to be a hoarder when it comes to Murkoff cash along with supplies from the test themselves if he can manage to sneak them out. Over time he gets caught and needs to get pulled aside for a body search every test or so.

Teammates can rely on Ace for his memorization skills and the ability to find good resources while using the x-ray rig. He isn't much of a distractor other than tossing objects to make noise before sneaking away. He is also decent with a lockpick.

Being under psychosis bothers him the most. Ace still isn't very fond of supernatural things in this universe, so anything he sees when under the influence will freak him out big time. If he can get an antidote he will snatch that up and keep it for his use only.

For Ace's "map" as a killer, it is a weird mashed-together, sensory overload that also has a very backrooms feel. So you got this weirdly large casino floor, where all of the machines are broken and have a random chance of jump-scaring you by jolting to life randomly. Parts of the floor are well-lit, meanwhile, others are in complete darkness except for the glowing from various machines or maybe bar lights.

Just for the sake of ideas (like if the maps were bigger than in-game limitations), I like to imagine that you can get the hotel portion of the casino. Also, would love some funky old tunes to play over the speakers, but they have that aged crackling stuff going on, and it's muffled.

Ace also, due to the entity's influence, gets a bit fired up if someone tries to sneak anything out of his realm. This doesn't really relate to anything I just said, but I like the idea that this obsession with money or valuables becomes amplified. He's just a little dragon now.

how do you need to be touched?

gently you need to be held as though you're going to break. you need someone to trace your scars like cracks in a wall, crumbling. their touch is almost painful; you've been without it for too long, without someone to hold you. but, you cannot bring yourself to pull away.

THE REAL IMPORTANT CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT QUESTIONS @walriding asked ;; if they could hit redo on a single past event in their life what would it be? would they do it if it meant changing the present?

Only if you have gotten close to Ace for him to trust you completely, would he admit to regretting a lot of things.

It's mostly the shit that has gotten him into the most trouble. Situations where he got lost in his addictions and ego. The man got his shit kicked in by a boxer because someone bet him he couldn't, and he just had to prove them wrong because he wouldn't let someone bruise his ego. To his credit, Ace didn't leave empty-handed, but he did break a few bones in the process.

Does he regret those choices? Maybe. If given the chance, would he go back to change them? No.

Without this lifestyle, he has no real purpose. Being young and cocky have dug himself a deep ditch around that perfect life he's wanted. He'll end up thinking there's an end to it, that one win will give him that chance again, but that ditch has turned into a mote and he'll continue to go in circles until he tries to fix himself or someone pulls his head out of the sand somehow.

He's self-aware of this at times, but to push the dread aside he'll find some pretty face to warm his bed, to help make the night easier to stomach. Either that or he'll spend money or turn to other substance abuse methods pretending that everything is fine.

Ace has a love-hate relationship with his life, and is too insecure to face himself to fix it. He may as well go down in a blaze of glory.

Hippogriff: Does your muse have a high level of self worth?

See, Ace gives off this vibe of having a high self worth. He is confidant, overly so. Does what he wants without caring about others judgement, has fashion choices that may be a bit odd to others yet he rocks it and is just over all glowing about himself. I would imagine though, if your ego can be so easily pushed causing emotional jumbles, I wouldn’t be surprised that at his core Ace has a very low self worth.

Hydra: Does your muse have a reoccurring problem?

You know all the money this man wins? All the jackpots and wallet he has stolen? The countless credit cards he has nabbed from folks? Every cent burns through his pockets** like this.** Ace wants everything he can touch and has horrible spending habits. Gets pointless expensive items. Will sometimes spend his winnings on another game of sorts, try to get even more, but will come back empty handed. The list goes on. He has other problems, yes, but this one is pretty bad.

Acromantula: Has your muse saved a life?

Not really. He may have done so in passing without really noticing? But he wouldn’t go out of his way to really save a life. It isn’t a common action that Ace does, but if you get under all that bastard clownery, he may go out of his way to help without looking for an ulterior motive. This takes a long time to do. It just takes a lot for Ace to begin to care for someone, to feel comfortable and all that.

When it comes to the realm? Sometimes. Survivors like Claudette he would be willing to help out during trials, might help with small things around the fire that are like confirming structures on certain “maps” or where things are likely to be placed (not without Ace maybe trying to sneak in a fake bit of info, just for fun, to see how many people believe it or not), and maybe can help tend to wounds as well but doesn’t go out of his way to do so. 

Other than that it is a pretty solid no. 

Siren: Does your muse often act in revenge?

Yes. If you bruise Ace’s ego, he will come up with some way to get back at you. There is a small chance that he might fight you, although his type of revenge entails just being more venomous. Might smile, joke around but know under that facade he will be planning on taking your cash, trying to ruin your rep among peers, etc. More manipulative tactics than physical. Some shit talking. Will bring up dirty he may know about you to bully you into shutting up or making you in turn feel bad about yourself. He can be a bit of a bully. 

Pixie: How does your muse tend to get into trouble?

Canceling out the obvious, most of Ace’s trouble making comes from an overly inflamed ego. He always wants to prove a point, prove others wrong. He’s the best and that’s that. He enjoys the spot light way too much, and when given the chance to have that attention he will take it. He is generally very cocky but there are moments where it reaches a certain level which leads to close calls with the law, his health, folks in high places, etc. 

He thinks he can get away with some actions and that may be the case for a little while but what goes around comes around. This trouble isn’t just money based I would imagine? He has probably done other stupid things that don’t always involve cards. 

It is also easy at times to taunt Ace? Constant down talk, saying he can’t do something, shit talking in that sense that messes with his self image, leads to self destructive behaviour of taking on anything that may seem very risky just, once again, prove a point. If you look at his lore right now, in the current rift, that’s a good example.

Kraken: What haunts your muse?

A lot of things. He would never in a million years admit to it. There are nights where he may be restless. He doesn’t want to come to terms to how fucked up he has become, drowns it with coping that is unhealthy. Most of the time turns to drinking to numb rising feelings.

Ace just wants to be happy I think. He wants so badly to have what he couldn’t when he was younger. To have so much control and money where he feels apart of society that is so lucky to have those things, which he could have achieved on his own. I don’t think a lot of people take into account how smart Ace is, all jokes aside. He is a great business man, could probably sell you anything with the right words. Has an amazing memory, and great people skills when he isn’t trying to be sneaky about things. Just he uses all of his knowledge in the wrong light I think. A bunch of past experiences turned Ace into a bully, and he sort of doesn’t know how to be anything else. No one really taught him how to cope in the right way.

To be clear he deserves no petty from this either. Ace has brought all of this on himself, no one forced Ace into doing anything he just decides to be an asshole. Maybe one could try to forgive him, if he really fucked them over, but I can imagine that that trust would be broken for many years and probably never returned to him.

Werewolf: What makes your muse lose control?

Emotions, after years of not being let out, makes Ace rather unsteady. This is excluding ego stuff, as that can also cause him to lose his control a bit. The ego just kind of takes over, etc. But the emotional stuff can be pretty intense. Most of the time it comes out in anger. Will result in a fist fight or things like that. It’s very vulgar, and defensive.

💠 / gimme some on what Ace has dealt with in his times / how bad it got while cheating his way up to the top / how much he struggled between spending and saving money, etc.

Saying it got bad is an understatement.

Ace can sometimes hold a good amount of money for a while, but that’s on a rare occasion. He has forgotten to pay rent, buy food, and all of it due to the fact that he is so addicted to the high roller lifestyle. Ace has nearly gotten himself homeless many times due to him being stupid with his cash and needing to itch his gambling scratch. Addiction rules over his every move pretty much.

Therefore has gone a day or so without much nourishment, but always finds ways around that by getting into parties/bars and snagging food that way ( along with a wallet of course ) 

Probably was homeless once or twice during his 30s while starting up his whole con artist bullshit. He came to America with nothing but a shitty wallet and a good sense of lucky on his side. 

Ace is so caught up in getting what he wants he leaves a mess in his every step. He’s made so many enemies along the way that it’s almost stupid. 

He’s been nearly beaten to death on more than one occasion, which includes torture. Ace has had to deal with his own wounds a lot, knows a good amount of first aid because of this as well but not enough to save himself if he were to get into a really bad state. 

Can’t really stop fights from happening, but tries his best to get the upper hand by doing checky hits. Ace doesn’t have the best stamina due to a life of booze and sitting around playing cards. He can get a few great punches but overall? Not great, making him an easy beat down if you manage to track his ass down.

Dude has a lot of small scars in weird places. The largest being over his kidney, which he is missing btw from the money he couldn’t provide. 

Has been chased by dogs owned by mod bosses/rich assholes who he’s tried to take shit from. Has been attacked by them many times. Ace isn’t a fan of dogs in general because of that and is actually a bit scared of them.

Has an underlining state of paranoia, due to being found out a couple of times. He always has to be on the move if he thinks someone has begun to pick up on who he is, or if his cheating games have been found out. 

Due to the constant moving around, Ace doesn’t really know where home is. One day its a penthouse, the next a motel, and the other an apartment. From the running around as well, Ace doesn’t exactly have any friends pre realm that weren’t made during a drunken night of shots that he would remember the next day.

Has had a lot of sex to get up high on the list of celebs for parties/money/etc and not all he would deem a good time, but would never talk about them. He can’t go ruining his rep. 

Does still seek out drugs in order to cope sometimes ( only really uses weed/smokes but has used other drugs as one time highs during rich parties in order to fit in )

Ace is scared about what’s done to himself. He has had sleepless nights getting shit-faced not wanting to face that fact. Has come to terms with the idea that “I’ve come this far may as well take the full stride” aka he can’t turn back now and is willing to go down in flames. 

This guy has basically dug his own grave, and cannot get out all because he wanted to be a hotshot/craved escapism.

💠 i wanna know more about his childhood/younger years!!

Ace’s childhood/teen years weren’t exactly amazing?

His parents, as much as he did love them, were not great either. They fought about various things and more often than not. There was a lot of tension with their money issues, resulting in yelling matches in the small living space. Sometimes Ace would get tossed around in the fights too, especially as he got older and entered high school. His family situation is what got him to hitchhike up through Mexico and eventually America as well. Still isn’t a huge fan of talking family topics either. 

He was known for being the class clown a lot? Just due to the roughness at home, masking that uncomfortable atmosphere with laughs got him through a lot of it.  Ace was in the popular group of kids. However, did get into weed and smoking around this time too, high school, but kept it secert from his parents. Got caught once for smoking and it turned into a huge fight from both sides, himself and his parents. 

Got into trouble a lot. Sometimes became the bully in some situations, taking out fustrations on others to make him feel like he was in control… which ties into his personality later on down the line. 

Never went to college due to the price of the courses and such. Just got odd jobs around town to keep himself afloat. Didn’t get into gambling until maybe…. his 20s?

modern au headcanons; 

♠ Most of his regular headcanons still apply here. Ace did get into some shady business that you would expect from a con artist, except he got caught in his early 30s for his bullshit and went to jail.

♠ When getting out, Ace tried to turn a new leaf to the best of his abilities. Ends up building up a real name for himself that isn’t covered in lies (for the most part).

♠ He discovers, with his silver tongue, he is a pretty solid businessman. Ace gets a job being a sales agent for selling homes. It goes rather well, give or take a little while, has a pretty good stack of cash to his name. With his money, gets a pretty nice apartment and buys a few other small places in the area he can rent out to others aka this gets him even more money.

♠Skip forward, Ace is kinda famous for having a shit load of cash under his belt. Goes to a lot of press events, is really well know. Has homes around America, some on other continents as well, for rent. These are mostly getaways, paradise locations, etc. Also has his dream gig of running a big-time casino.

♠Ace has been married a lot during this timeline? At least since he gets out of jail. All of the marriages turned into divorces due to Ace being seen with other people, being too caught up in his business side too much, etc. 

♠He currently resides mostly on the East Coast in America. Flys in and out of LA and Vegas for either business related things or pleasure. Has a penthouse in Vegas, while LA has a mansion of a home where he has a lot of his downtime.
