          it   only   takes   a   moment  ;  her   focus   had   been   on   Miecz   when   a   sharp   pain   blooms   in   her   side.    talons   are   through   the   offenders   neck   before   they   even   have   a   chance   to   understand   the   consequences   of   their   actions.    tossing   the   body   aside   with   little   care,    Ravenna   ignores   the   iron   dagger   still   stuck   inside   her    &    helps   finish   off    the   remaining   attackers.

          when   the   dust   finally   settles,    the   sigh       weak    &    brittle       that   leaves   her   is   one   of   relief   as   eyes   find   Miecz    &    Jason.    feet   carry   her   to   them,    thumb   brushing   some   dirt   off   her   son’s   face   as   she   gently   cups   his   cheek    &    leaves   a   kiss   to   his   forehead.    arms   wrap   around   her,    guiding   her   into   an   embrace   with   her   fiancé    &   suddenly   it’s   like   all   the   energy   is   sucked   out   of   her.    knees   buckles    &    Ravenna   grips   his   biceps   to   hold   herself   up,    nose   burying   in   the   crook   of   his   neck    &    a   light   sound   of   pain   comes   from   the   back   of    her   throat.    a   wince   when   Miecz   brings   them   to   the   ground,    cradling   her   against   his   body    &    they’re   finally   able   to   see   the   hilt   of   the   weapon   emerging   from   her   waist.

          time   seems   to   slow,    eyes   memorizing   the   angles   of   his   face    &    the   curve   of   his   lips.    a   hand   reaches   out,    steady   even   for   the   absence   of   her   strength    &    has   the   pad   of   her   thumb   follow   where   gaze   just   traced.    he’s   talking   but   she   can’t   hear,    everything   is   muffled   save   for   her   own   heartbeat   pounding   slowly   in   her   ears       a   familiar   sound   she’s   heard   only   once   before    &    it   makes   her   feel   heavy.    hand   drops   from   his   face    &    lids   struggle   to   remain   open    as   a   delirious   smile    appears.

@mieczlw​  ( stiles  →  ravenna ) :  “ hey, don’t you dare close your eyes, you hear me? you die in my arms, and i’m gonna stick the dry-cleaning bill for this shirt in your coffin, that’s a promise! “

          her   laugh   is   quiet,    head   rolling   until   her   cheek   rests   against   his   shoulder    &    eyes   struggle   to   open,    to   do   as   he   begs   with   hope   it   will   ease   his   pain.    while   one   hand   helps   to   keep   pressure   on   the   wound,     the   other   searches   for   his    &    holds   on   tightly,    no   intention   of   ever   letting   go.    ❝  you   know   you   can   just   put   it   on   my   tab.  ❞    a   playful   squeeze   to   accompany   the   breathy   chuckle,    laying   his   palm   over   her   heart   so   she   can   cup   his   neck.    ❝  i   love   you    &    the   family   we’ve   made.    i’m   not   going   anywhere,    baby.  ❞    black   creeps   into   the   corner   of   her   vision,    growing   slowly   before   all   at   once,    it   consumes   her.

@loetise​  ( allie  →  ravenna ) :  ‘ i feel awful. i probably look awful. ‘

          A  FROWN.    soft   as   it   tugs   at   the   corners   of   her   mouth   before   stepping   closer   to   Allie.    ❝  mi   stellina  . . .  ❞    one   hand   goes   to   cup   her   cheek   gently   as   the   other   holds   the   homemade   soup   she’s   made   for   her.    ❝  you   look   beautiful.  ❞    not   a   lie,    Ravenna   finds   Allie   to   be   gorgeous   but   she   does   seem   a   bit   pale    &    it   causes   concern   to   settle   in   her   chest.    ❝  why   don’t   i   warm   up   some   soup    &    then   we   can   watch   a   movie ?    standing   in   the   doorway   won’t   make   you    feel   any   better.  ❞

          SHE’S   STARVING.    or   well  . . .  Malel   is.    she’s   lured   their   meal   from   the   bar,    leading   him   to   a   dark   alleyway   for   privacy    &   yet,    it   seems   they   were   followed.    footsteps   slow   as   they   reach   the   entrance    &    Ravenna   looks   over   at   the   man,    an   eyebrow   arching   at   the   stranger    &    a   coy   smile   appears   on   dark   red   lips.    ❝  this   is   a   private   show.  ❞

@kvnghs​  ( liam  →  ravenna ) :  ❝ to be honest, i don’t give two shits what you’re up to. ❞

          head   tilts,    eyeing   the   other   momentarily    &    Malel   offers   the   idea   of   having   a   2 - course   meal   tonight   but   Ravenna   is   quick   to   dismiss   it        she’s   intrigued.    ❝  then   you   should   keep   moving.  ❞    she   takes   a   step   further   into   the  alley   before   turning   to   look   at   the   stranger   once   more,    a   mischievous   glint   in   sea - green   eyes.    ❝  be   safe   out   there  . . .  you   don’t   know   what   could   be   lurking   in   the   shadows.  ❞

          it’s   not   the   first   time   she’s   held   someone   else’s   life   in   her   hands,    the   weight   of   it   almost   comfortable   in   her   palm    &    the   only   reason   she’s   hesitating   this   time   is   because   it’s   her   own   uncle’s   terrified   gaze   that   stares   back   at   her.

          she   knows  –  that   is   not   a   lesson   she   needs   to   learn   again.    jaw   clenches,    giving   the   other   a   sharp   glare   from   over   her   shoulder    &    a   huff   of   frustration   escapes   through  her   nose.    ❝  i   know   exactly   what   he   deserves.  ❞    in   one   swift   motion,    Ravenna   forces   her   hand   through   his   chest    &    rips   his   heart   out.    holding   it   between   them,    she   watches   the   life   slowly   drain   from   a   man   she   once   considered   family,    her   own   heart   twisting   painfully   as   the   circle   of   those   she   can   put   her   faith   into   shrinks   before   her   eyes.

@likesodead​  ( alex  →  ravenna ) :  “They’re not going to make it.”

             she   almost   doesn’t   hear   the   stranger’s   comment,    only   looking   up   because   there’s   a   hint   of   panic   in   his   voice.    eyes   find   the   source    &    then   follow   his   gaze,    widening   at   the   sight   of   2   children   standing   in   the   middle   of    the   road  ;   distracted   by   something   on   the   ground   the   girls   don’t   notice   the   car   speeding   their   way.    Ravenna   springs   into   action,    speeding   over    to   snatch   them   up    in   her   arms    &    jump   out   of   the   way   just   in   time.

            they’re   surrounded   suddenly,    the   parents   are   fretting   over   their   daughters    &    the   driver   has   been   spewing   apologies    since   she   got   out   of   her   car.    Ravenna   accepts   their   thanks,    quick   to   slip   out   of   the   crowd    &    avoid   any   questions   but   also   in   the   hopes   of   finding   the   stranger  .  .  .  there’s   more   to   him    &    now   she’s   curious.
