LOOK. lira is always her first thought. remember that nightmare thing i wrote out where she dreamed about alduin killing lira. literally her one of biggest fears BESIDES alduin himself. lira is her greatest source of strength when it comes to defeating alduin because it seems IMPOSSIBLE but she knows that she HAS to to keep lira ( and everyone lse obv ) safe and it fuels her x1000.

it hasn’t even been a full day and andrea’s already showing up at my door with drinks and pain

   listen ——  lira knows that mae’s ready when she says her goodbyes and watches her go off to fight the stinky angry lizard , mae’s learned everything she needs to know, she has a good head on her shoulders and she’s braver than she gives herself credit for but lira’s still an absolute wreck the entire time she’s away. you can’t tell me she didn’t hold her breath in anticipation from the moment mae walked out of jorrvaskr to the second she hears her walking up those steps again. she didn’t sleep. she lost weight because she wasn’t eating enough, worry kept her from having much an appetite. no amount of life experience can prepare you for what may as well be your own flesh and blood walking into the jaws of death. but she’s so damn proud of her for everything she’s accomplished, she always saw that capability within her, it’s why she pushed her as hard as she did to achieve her full potential. mae was destined for greatness and lira knew that from day one.
