Headcanons! Cult of the lamb

Leshy, Heket, Shamura, Kallamar, Narinder and The lamb.

General:

(this will be in follower form for the bishops)

Leshy

Dude is definetly not happy upon being indoctrinated into the cult.

Like first he gets killed by the lamb and NOW he has to follow their commands? Yeah to say the least he might be a bit annoyed at first.

When you first introduce yourself, he might be a little skeptical mainly because he was a bishop so what were you gonna do? Make fun of him? Pull a ''prank'' Just because you could?

Surprisingly, no! You were kind, just trying to get to know him better, and trying to get him to know the cult a little better.

He is forever greatful if you help him around the place.

Romantic:

If Leshy smells anything he thinks is something like a flower, then he might try and guide you towards them.

Mainly because it might be difficult picking them, when he cant see where the hell he's going.

9.5 / 10 hugs and you cant convince me otherwise.

He might be a bit moist because of all the stuff growing on him but he definetly smells nice. (or atleast i headcanon it as such).

He can and will be a living scarf if he REALLY craves your attention.

He will just snuggling up to you in the middle of whatever you were doing.

Heket

General:

Heket was not the happiest when she awoke in the lambs cult to say the least.

Allthough she was hungry, (cant blame her tbh).

When you approached her and offered her a couple of berries as a little welcome gift you definetly became one of her favorites.

She probably didn't even want to try and care for someone that isn't her siblings, at this point.

She especially appreceates if you basically speak for her, mainly because you can get to the point (and the words) alot faster then her.

Heket will do absolutely anything to avoid you or anyone else finding out anything that embarrases her that isnt known, like her losing to the lamb.

She enjoys all meals with either you or her siblings.

Romantic:

If you pick her up in front of others for no reason you are getting the frog equivilent of a bitch slap.

She does still have a reputation to uphold to prevent the followers from being too cruel even as a member of the cult.

Okay but seriously, Heket is basically your knight in shining armor.

Someones bothering you? just tell Heket, and she will take care of it.

She loves it when you bring her snakcs while waiting for a meal to be done whenever you cook.

Can and will pass you notes of what she wants you to say to someone, if she's really annoyed bcause of something they did.

Might be dissapointed if you rephrase it, to not be as rude as what she wrote.

Shamura

General:

Them always seeking knowledge was definetly one of the things that allowed you to bond with them quickly.

You telling them about things they might find interesting, and them sharing some of the things they remember.

Shamura likes it when you remind them of small things they might forget.

They also like sharing stories of their past with you, or giving you small gifts.

Not that they cant defend themselves against other cult members who might be looking for payback (they probably can't).

But you talking some sense into the cultists heads definetly does not go unoticed.

Romantic:

Shamura probably does like cuddles, especially when comforting them.

Might forget that you gave them something and try to return it to you.

If you remind them, then well they'll probably feel a bit ashamed that they forgot one of your gifts.

Please comfort Shamura if this happens.

(sorry i couldn't come up with much for them Shamura fans).

Kallamar

General:

Kallamar is a very nervous person so you showing them kindness was definetly unexpected.

you being nice? To him, and this quickly? You must be plotting something, he thought. but when you continuesly kept showing kindness and defended him from any rude cult members, he quickly realized that it wasn't the case.

he likes it alot when you reassure him that everythings gonna be fine. This man isn't much for standing up for himself. So if you do stand up for him, when other cultists come to do whatever they'd wanna do, he'll be very thankful.

If you went through the trouble of learning sign language just to communicate with him easilier his heart basically melts (not literally though).

Romantic:

He loves holding your hand. he likes the comfort of you being around.

expect him to be with you for a majority of the time.

will hug you whenever he feels nervous if he is allowed to (usually he is).

If he's trying to talk to you about something personal he'll usually use sign language with you when alone.

Kallamar spends so much time with you that half of his stuff is probably at your place.

Narinder

General:

He was not letting anyone even try and converse with him, after his indoctrination.

Not like people were gonna try anyway, considering what he tried to do.

But theres always someone different, and that just so happened to be you.

You kept trying to start a conversation, pestering him untill he finally tried to actually speak with you.

He wasn't very happy when he finally did start talking.

Despite that you just kept coming back.

Soon he actually started trying to engage the conversations, not really having much else to do.

Small conversation became a small friendship.

Soon Narinder found himself actively trying to spend time with you , and you were more then happy to do so.

Atleast the place wasn't as bad now for Narinder.

Romantic:

This dude is for close to anything but PDA (Public displays of affection).

Will purr if you hug him.

Narinder will never admit it but he's a total cuddle bug when in private.

Will do anything to prevent the lamb from finding out because he already knows he's gonna get teased for eternity the second they find out.

May or may not actively seek you out if he's getting really needy for some cuddles.

Will have orange cat level stupid behavior if he somehow gets his hands on catnip.

The lamb / Lambert.

General:

upon first meeting you, for whatever reason you were wandering around the lands of the old faith, they immidietly asked if you wanted to become part of their cult.

Likes your dedication to the crown and the cult

If you're especially dedicated to the cult then they might read your mind (and might find out you're in love but who knows).

Definetly tries to become closer with you.

They might ask if you wanna go on walks to take a break from all the work.

If you have any problems then the lamb will be willing to do just about anything to help (not everything though).

Romantic:

The lamb definetly makes the first move.

They shower you in gifts, kisses and cuddles whenever they're not busy.

Will do a marriage ritiual as soon as you feel comfortable with it.

Will spend lots of time with you in their free time.

You're probably being put in charge of taking care of things whenever they go on crusades, mainly because they trust you the most.

Doesn't have alot of time when they're not working but they spend almost every second that they're not busy beside you

Expect surprise hugs.

Lots and lots of surprise hugs.

Alot of people are probably both jealous and happy for you because of you being with the lamb.

The lamb does not care because they got the most wonderful person in the world as their partner aka you <3.

I don't think monsters really had binders at first (dont use bandages btw guys, dont be like Starlo was!!11) I think the first time one fell into the trash dump or wtvr someone picked it up and then once figuring out its uses just!! boom!! business!! figuring out how to safely make more and!!! finding ways to accommodate certain monsters with different body types!! esp with the spikes and such. Ceroba def helped Starlo out with his bandages often before they were able to get him a binder. the one where clovers drawing is !! an idea of revived!clover or clover staying in the underground in hiding. Martlet got him that shirt :)) and obv the bell earring is from Ceroba. sorry to all my cotl followers i STILL have no colored the 5 body refs of both narinder and lambert. I picked the colors here on a whim so uhmmm it's not official!!! not yet anyways!! i do like what i used for Narinders fur tho, so that might stay idk yet i hte coloring BNJKNKSD i colored this whole thing on a wild impulse.. thus staying up all night. I think clover would really enjoy waterfall if they were ever able to visit it after or during the whole soul thing. It's peaceful and beautiful and also one of my fav areas in base game sooo :) i missed my LN kids. I reread Raccoons on ao3 and remembered how much i loved them and their silly lil dynamic. im a #1 six defender btw i WILL throw hands if u say some wrong shit abt her. mono, less so bc i think a lot of people have a good grasp on his character now but six is ALWAYS villainized. The stress keeps them from stopping the tears, it's likely that this is the first time you've seen your leader cry, ever

You offer to take them out of the tent to go walk around and get some air, that seems to help

They arent too open to your gently prodding to tell you what's weighing on him, if you dont already know about his arrangement with narinder

You both just sit and talk, wherever you both end up during your walk and stay there until morning

There isnt much you can do for them other than to talk and listen, but they show that your support means a lot- especially if its genuine and its not just because theyre your leader

They let you take the day to rest to make up for your lost sleep; you may try to reject them but they'll still insist that you lay down

I had an idea for a royal AU thingy

So, Narinder and the other bishops are royalty or nobility or something. One day, baiscally out of nowhere, Narinder is betrothed. Like his parents or Shamura or whatever just announced "oh yeah you're engaged now". Obviously this doesn't sit right with Narinder at all and he tries to argue, but it's pointless. The decision is made and he can't do anything about it. Thing is, he's never told who he's betrothed to. He thinks it's just a noblewoman for more land or a trade. Then he meets his new fiance, as they are required to move in.

The fiance is a lamb of lower status, very recently got their hands in the church and accumulating small wealth through it. The church is very influential, espacially since it effectively worshipped the royal family, so it initially didnt surprise Narinder all that much to be betrothed with a priest. Except the lamb wasn't even a proper priest, yet somehow they got a small church away from the capital an almost cult following. It became one of the strongest churches. Oh well, Narinder thought, a religious figure that preached about him? Might as well be devoted so it might make this entire ordeal somewhat managable.

And at first the lamb was very polite and kind. And then, probably because they saw Narinder (or any of the siblings in fact) wasn't as godly as the scriptures made the royal family out to be, they started standing their ground and making demands of their own, even if it was just asking for something small like "can you please give me the thing over there? You're closer to it." Narinder, obviously, wasn't one to follow this commoner's will.

These 2 bickered and fought CONSTANTLY, it's gotten to a point where no one was surprised anymore when they'd hear yelling from afar or see scratches, bites and bruises on the 2. They could not sit in a room for 5 minutes before one of them would start a fight. The lamb's chatty and Narinder's prideful nature didn't help at all.

But over time they slowly got accustomed to eachother and realized they work well together, be it in planning or combat (which the lamb was also surprisingly skilled at). So as much as they still bickered, there was no bad blood. The original dread of being betrothed turned into a well working partnership. They started to question if they could eventually love too, not knowing they were already secretly pining. Narinder was the first one to show actual affection through, feeling comfortable to hold them. The lamb didnt refuse so it's not his Problem. (who is he kidding? He wouldnt stop even if the lamb would bite his hand for it and kick him. Not like they never did that before and their wool is warm and soft so he doesnt care)

The other siblings just watched amused at their pining, making bets how long until they finally kissed and confessed their love.

Edit: oh yeah, the Lamb didnt initiate the Engagement either. It was just 2 forces above them going "yeah this random guy who made the church more powerful and the third prince should marry" (ofc this isnt exactly how it went but yeah). The lamb didnt know Jack-shit either, only being told of the Engagement the day they were told to move to the Palace lmao

The Fear of Death AU - Purgatory Lore

Since im currently grinding Purgatory some more for them important tears, I wanna write down my thoughts on how it works/what it is for the AU. Hopefully I can explore it more artwise too eventually as I get more and more comfortable doing like, shot comic sketches like im trying to in private.

Anyhow, lets start with it! (under the cut that is)

The timeline Fear AU follows is pretty close to a regular playthrough of the game nowadays with all the updates, meaning the mysterious Merchant (just called The Merchant/The Trader in this AU), appears pretty soon after Lamb fells and replaces Narinder as a death god.

The Merchant tells Lamb about Purgatory and his now given duty to go into it to make unresting souls find piece, be it through putting them out of their misery, or reviving them if they arent dead for too long yet, like the bishops who are partially kept alive through worship.

The purgatory itself thus isnt much of a daily grind but more of a place no one knows how to get into but Lamb and Narinder which calls out to Lamb whenever too many souls have flooded in there.

Time doesnt stop while Lamb is away in it, but it does slow down tremendously. 1 week in purgatory would be around a day back the cult camp most likely.

Its ever shifting, branching in pathways, and the different fleeces in lore are just how Lamb's body slightly changes to adapt to a certain area of purgatory as to actually do his duty there.

Said duty is both fighting the angry, violent souls, as well as making sure any lost ones find their way to the end of the branching path so they can move on.

One of the branching paths and areas is actually Narinder's holding place. He was tied up there, meaning he could still somewhat complete his duties with the help of Aym and Baal, but he wasnt able to return to the living world. It also colors his already very long imprisonment in a worse light I feel like, seeing how his irl time tied up is basically tripled in purgatory.

Another Area is where the corruption is housed which eventually spawns the goat. However that one is not like the game timeline and comes faaaaar later. Soooo since im still in the early stages of the au, poor goat will be benched for a long time I fear XD He's there though, waiting.

Purgatory isnt just home to new souls though. The longer a soul is down there unable to move on but also too old to be revived, it becomes a shade, an inhabitant which can barely be perceived. Like memories forever stuck in a loop of wandering.

Some are the barely animated remains of old gods, though Lamb doesnt recognize them. Others he does recognize is other lambs. Older flocks the Bishops eradicated way before this Lamb's time had come, thus making them too far gone to interact with. Not a violent threat but a dreadful reminder of the past.

And purgatory likes preying on weakness. So whenever lamb is reminded of the old flock he was a part of and lost? Or of bad fights and worse days early on into the cult making? Its not a pleasant duty to be down there.

A small part of him does hope though that he might eventually either find another Lamb thats alive, or a soul of a lamb that he can revive and get out of purgatory. Who knows if that will or even can happen though.

“Youve heard anything about him?”

Kallamar said. Gaia nodded. The others perked up and listened to her

“It seems like narinder is trying to garner enough faith to power back up. Fortunately for us, he is weak above ground. Tomorrow. We will settle this, once and for all”

She said. The others agreed…except for Kallamar

“Im not against killing him…but will Shamura be okay if you do that? We don’t want to do anything that will harm their health further”

Gaia sighs.

“Thats why were leaving tomorrow. I have a bad feeling about what he said. Shamura being at death’s door. He knows. We cannot risk Shamura losing their life to a spiteful child!”

Kallamar, against his better judgment, bodded. He needs to pay fir what hea done to this family.

“This time…the lambs will stay behind.”

Leshy gets up

“Why?”

“Because they will DIE if they get killed. Would you like to leave Noelle and Moses in the hands of death himself?!? We avoided that fate for too long to just throw them to the wolves! Also, we need someone to protect Shamura and care for them while were gone. That will be their mission”

Leshy didnt agree, but he couldn’t bear to see Noelle get hurt or worse, taken from him. He relented.

“It is the best decision little brother…”

Heket said. He nodded. Then she turned to Fernilla

“I have a few spare Defense Guards and Heals, come to my Temple before you retire for the night, Fernilla”

“Ah, y-yes!”

She stammered. Leshy took notice of his sister’s change in demeanor, but paid non mind to it.

“When are we leaving?”

Leshy asked.

“We leave first thing when the sun rise, we must catch them off guard. Even if it isnt woth surgical precision, we must get them before there fully alert.”

Gaia said. The others dispersed. This fight was for everything. The Past, their lives, the future of the Clan. Everything was on the line at this point and there was no room for error. Leshy returned to Noelle’s room and told her the news. She was quiet about it. Then took his hand.

“Leshy, please, take care.”

She slips something into his hand. It was a Protection Stone.

“Where did you get this?”

“I bought it from the market while you were away one day. I believe you will need ir”

“Hmph! You think i cannot protect myself?!? I am one of the Strongest bishops in this land! Buuutttt, if it makes you feel safer if i have it, then give it here”

He said as he takes ir. Noelle even asks him to lean down. He obliged, only to be greeted with a small peck on the cheek

“Oh?!?”

“Thats for everything you’ve done for me. Please come home safe”

She wraps her arms around his neck and he hugs her back. He truly wanted to kiss her but he settled with a returned peck on the cheek. He can wait. He was coming back, wasnt he?

shamura is sort of everyones rock. theyre the oldest, they know the most, they seem to always know what to say. theyre often busy and i feel the others would be concious of it, not wanting to bother them. i feel shamura is quiet and would love for their siblings to bother them about more things but they dont know how to go about asking or letting them know that they would like to spend more casual time with their siblings. theyre not good at expressing themselves or their own needs, but they are fiercely protective of their siblings and their needs and feel like they have to always be emotionally available to help out, but again, their siblings are worried about interrupting them when theyre busy

narinder is the cool older brother, not entirely mature, but someone who has live longer than you and knows everything thats fun/not fun. often likes to tease his younger siblings, especially leshy and kallamar. hes got a lot of spunk and energy and often messes around w his younger siblings to take it out. he doesnt always understand boundries until he crosses them, then he is very apologetic and feels a lot of guilt about it. similar to shamura, hes not good at expressing himself, but its moreso he doesn't have the proper words to describe what he's feeling, rather than an inability to bring up what he's feeling at all. he looks up to shamura, he often bickers w heket but they laugh it off immediately, he tries to coax kallamar out of his shell, he keeps leshy entertained. hes a bit frustrated that nobody seems to tell him anything when it matters, especially shamura

heket sort of picks up where narinder is lacking in the older sibling department, making herself the responsible one in shamura's presumed absence. she is stubborn and she's the one to keep the others (narinder included) from doing something stupid that could get them hurt (or in the case of shamura, remind them to take care of themselves, too). the responsibility feels heavy on her shoulders, but she keeps it up because she feels like this is what she has to do often. she has a lot of parties and festivals to try and ease things up for herself, but after theyre over, its right back to being strict. her brothers have a lot of fun, she feels, and part of her wants to have fun with them, but she worries they'll get into something disasterous if she lets her guard down and she doesnt want that to happen

kallamar is shy but passionate. he takes a bit of encouragement to get started talking but once he's talking he doesnt stop. he loves talking about his collections and cool stuff he finds and random facts about the ocean to his siblings. in turn he is a good listener when it comes to their interests, asking questions and engaging with them, even if he doesn't entirely understand what is going on. but he is riddled with anxiety. he overthinks often, worries his followers are talking bad about him behind his back, his power will not be strong enough, he wont be able to live up to his siblings, and if he is not good enough, does that mean he will die? he's silent about these fears, not wanting to bring the others' moods down and feel like an even further burden on them, but its just a glass bottle waiting to explode

leshy is very active, probably even more than narinder. what he does is completely at the whims of his ever-changing mind, he may relax in the dirt for a while or go on a rampage in a nearby village, he's very impulsive. he likes to cause a bit of "harmless" (to his siblings. mortals may not get the same treatment) chaos with pranks or sudden humorous remarks. hes just a lot of fun to be around. as the youngest, hes the furthest away from figuring himself out, and hes a bit insecure about it. everyone else has solid domains-- war, death, famine, pestilence. what chaos means isnt as clear. yes it has a definition, but that can represent itself in so many different ways. hes not keen on asking, because he feels, like the rest of his siblings, he should figure it out for himself. they would help him... if they knew he was struggling

Some doodles of Arus, a Cultist OC from Cult of the Lamb I made some days ago Some context here: Arus is a male lamb who was one of the much cultist they follow the Old Faith when was young before Narinder was chained and banned from his brothers. After the hunter and extermination of the lambs for the rest of the bishops, Arus decide to escape and living apart near the beach where the followers can’t find him, leaving his faith forever. After so many years he live in peace until he hear about a Lamb was choosed by Narinder to free him, and weird things happened to Arus since. 

And no, he isnt the crown carrier, is a different character from the Lamb and storyline. He is a lamb who was presecuted and loose all his friends and family in the process. I hope you like him and soon can ask anything to him (I thinking about open a ask box for him)

u know i was gonna make a whole big comic about narinder's first impression of the goat and it going horribly (and ending with him dying) but.... i really aint about to finish that comic ngl idc i cant get it to go how i want """""orz

1) narinder's chains can only be summoned from the floor 2) the floor can be anything (even walls) as long as he can plant his feet on em

4) the lamb is allowed to treat him like shit bc he feels guilty. he may be kind enough to not kill the other cultists(except pigs), but even that has a limit. the goat is no cultist and he certainly isnt the lamb. narinder will happily fucking maul him.

5) goat is a bit of an asshole. and NOT in an endearing way. he abuses his powers a lot but he also listens when cultists tell him he's crossed a line. he WILL try to make it up to u if he goes too far, except if ur a bishop. if u are u can honestly go get fucked in his opinion.

6)lute suit canon. ( @paintpaintpaintman)

7) he makes fun of and talks shit to all of the bishops a lot for falling to the lamb and having their crowns stolen by them. he will happily fight ANY of them,, Except Kallamar. That guy is huge.

8) Narinder does a FULL heart of damage when fighting, not just half. Same goes to the other bishops, the goat, and the lamb.

9) lamb and goat might fight a lot but they consider each other friends. Narinder considers the goat his enemy. narinder WILL maul the goat even at the cost of his own life. the goat a tiny bit scared of him for it. he also finds out the hard way narinder has a thing where he rips people's face off with his teeth.

10) narinder has absolutely NO fear in killing/maiming himself if he feels it necessary to complete a goal. none. zero. zip. absolutely not afraid of dying because he knows the lamb will always brings him back. (may we not forget this man grew up in the valley he is no stranger to agony)

bold of you to assume hes either not following you two from underground or outright just inserting himself the moment he senses your discomfort. WILL trip the follower from the ground and hide away before he can get caught. hes tempted to outright bite them, though... tempting tempting... surely the lamb wont mind if its to disarm a creep?

in the case of inserting himself hes going to make it more than clear that the follower isnt wanted, talking loudly and obnoxiously in topics that may put others off or making plans with you right in front of them

if youre already together romantically hes going to use it to push the point that youre not interested... and if not, surely youd be find to pretend for just a moment in order to get them away from you. would never force a kiss on you but hes going to go over the top with pet names- almost making a parody of the followers behavior. the king of ripping someone apart literally and metaphorically

HEKET

just because her throat is all torn up doesnt mean shes going to stay silent when she sees someone making you uncomfortable. even if she cant get the words out her looming presence is enough to make anyone buckle under her

and the LOOK she gives them. youve never seen so much hate and disgust in someones eyes, and yet here heket is focusing it all on this one person in this moment to make them back down and leave you alone

shes not going to hide behind excuses to get you away from them, shes going to be blunt when demanding they leave you be. threats will be uttered through clenched teeth, she doesnt care if the force is going to make her wound bleed again, she NEEDS to get this point across and her stubbornness and commitment to it is going to make sure she succeeds

KALLAMAR

hes not the bravest or boldest of his siblings but hes crazy about you and- as shitty it sounds, he does somewhat see it as an opening to come to your rescue and impress you

centuries of shittalking comes to his aid when hes talking down to this follower. every insecurity and imperfection he sees in them is going to be brought up until theyre stumbling over their words. he gets so into it that it fuels him to keep going and to dig deeper

hes not a fighter, and he may try to draw the follower into a place where theres more followers around- perhaps they will fold under having their shit behavior on display and they wont throw hands hopefully- worst case scenario someone gets the lamb and they need to step in

assuming no physical fight happens there he does take you away so you can collect yourself. WILL get in the last word that youre too good for the follower that was bothering you

SHAMURA

theyre.... still intimidating. they seemingly spawn out of no where when they find that youre being followed by someone who wont take no for an answer. they thought it was odd that they went to the kitchens with you, they know their memory isnt the best but dont they recall that that follower was put on wood chopping duty...?

doesnt even waste any time, they check on you- scaring both you and your harasser due to them seemingly just manifesting into the room... do you need some assistance with your tasks? they have two sets of hands, so it will go by faster! their presence calms you, what better savior than the former god of war? even if not all the followers are aware of their past

you dont catch it, but they whisper into the followers ear- whatever they say... or perhaps threaten (promise? they dont make empty threats) leaves them backing off at least for a little while. so be it, they will enact their promise when the time comes

they dont make a scene about it, and prioritize your comfort over it. they wont draw attention to you but will make sure you know theyre backing you up
