Inbox Summary 9/29/2023

Hi peeps, so I'm going to try something new. For some of your Asks in my Inbox, instead of answering them individually, I'm going to do a combined summary post of all of them.

I'm doing this because a lot of the questions are about past stuff I've already answered. I don't have time to keep answering the same questions (Search is your friend, my friends), I don't want to take up space on my blog to answer stuff that has already been answered, and the main thing is, I'm TIRED.

I'm in one of my fandom "meh" moods. I get into fandom funks every once in a while, where I'm over it, and don't feel like posting. BUT, I love you guys, and I know the next big scoop is just around the corner. Every time, I say to myself, I'm just going to fandom retire, Cait gets engaged, Sam is seen with a new woman, Cait gets married, Sam is seen with a new woman, I get the scoop AHEAD of time that Cait is pregnant (remember when I posted MONTHS before that someone from Outlander was pregnant? and 'lo and behold, that August, Cait announced she'd had her son), Sam is seen with a new woman, Cait has her baby, etc, etc. So, I don't give up...because I know there's more stuff coming, and also, like I said, I really enjoy my Team here.

So, what I'm going to do is either on Fridays, Saturdays, or Sundays, depending on how busy I am, I'm going to do a weekly summary of answers to some of my Inbox questions. They will be short answers. And for further details, you guys can just Search my blog or Search Google.

I'll still answer some questions individually, but it will depend on the subject, and how busy I am in RL. Please keep sending me questions and DM's. I'll answer them. Some won't be answered as in depth as others, that's all.

Sam is expected in New York next week, for the Keepers of the Quaich event ON Cait's birthday, October 4. For those gnashing "why do you think Cait wouldn't go to New York to spend her birthday with Sam?! She could?! They're friends?!" Um, yes, they're friends...but REALITY CHECK: Cait is married to Tony McGill and has a toddler son with him. Logic dictates that Cait and family aren't going to schlep from Europe to New York to be with Sam, who is simply her friend and costar, and NOTHING MORE. Cait will spend her birthday with her husband and son, and she has a TON of friends, she's not going to fly to NY expressly for Sam. Plus, he's BUSY on her birthday, remember? He's going to be at that Keepers of the Quaich event.

No, Sam and Sophie Skelton never dated. Sam never posts who he dates (except when he went Instagram official with Mackenzie Mauzy, but that was after 2 years of a committed relationship), and he posted pics with Sophie on a motorcycle at his Glasgow home. If they were secretly dating, he would have been much more secretive about it. I mean, I hope Sam is into some kink, but da/daughter ain't one of them. Who's your daddy? hahaha.

By now, we all know Sam's ex, Abbie Salt is fighting some type of cancer. Yes, she hasn't posted in a while. I'm worried about her too. But her sister, Charlotte Salt, has posted, and she posts on her professional design IG accounts as well. If Abbie had taken a turn for the worse, I don't think her sister would be posting. I hope Abbie makes a full recovery, wish her all the best.

Thanks for letting me know that two other of Sam's exes, Hannah James and Mackenzie Mauzy recently started following birthing, doula, and parenting accounts on IG. Looks like their next adventure is motherhood. Also wish them all the best.

The podcast with that IG influencer that was supposedly going to have some Sam content, as far as I know, there hasn't been any Sam mention. So, that was all smoke and mirrors, trying to get some free advertisement. Nothing to see there.

The two blonde, blue-eyed Scottish IG influencers supposedly being linked with Sam. I see no evidence of that. Again, seems to be just smoke and mirrors, and names dropped in my Inbox to see if I would post them or not. Nothing to see there.

Asking for a cheat sheet of the women Sam has dated and what do certain initials mean. I've done plenty of posts summarizing the women Sam has dated. Please Search my blog or Search Google. As for initials, I don't use initials, I post full names. So, if you see a woman's initials, match them to the full names I've posted.

Cait's dad's funeral. And do I have questions about Sam being there? Um, that's all Extreme Shipper bullshit, lies, spin, deception, and now they've sold it as shipper canon. NO, I don't have any questions because WHO was at Cait's father's funeral is VERY clear. Again, Search what I've posted. There are pic, video of Cait sitting next to her mother, and the "Sam is sitting next to Cait but he's wearing a wig" is her brother. NOT Sam. Tony is sitting in the rows behind, holding baby BalfeMcGill, as are other spouses. NO ONE from Outlander went to Cait's dad's funeral. Please THINK. Cait has a big family and she has a TON of friends, some she has known for YEARS. If anyone was going to go all the way to Ireland for her father's funeral, it would be her immediate and LARGE extended family, all the family's friends in Ireland, and then Cait's close friends. Sam and Outlander people aren't even in the first few rungs of WHO would get invited to the funeral. And yes, that includes, Sam Heughan. Besides, Sam was in Las Vegas during the funeral, and there are lots of posts showing that.

I know the TRUTH about Cait and Sam never dating, and Cait being with Tony since 2014. I know this thru verifiable and identifiable sources who directly and personally know Cait, Sam, and Tony. So, there are NO questions for me, because I've known the TRUTH for 9 years. It's that simple.

As, for my little frothy pet troll who sends me weekly rants about Sam. You can keep going, but all I do is laugh and laugh at how pathetic you are. What you write doesn't upset me because I'm not personally invested in Sam. I'm really not. I post about him because I get info about him, and people are interested in it. But I don't care one way or the other. My IP tracker tells me where the basement is from where you gnash and froth so desperately. So, go ahead, make my day, but I'm NEVER going to post what you send me. You'll never get that satisfaction. Never. Try me.

Tough Little Devil

Summery: When faced against some old foes, Y/n thought she had it in the bag, until they decided to play dirty...(Ig you can call this a sequel to You're Grounded?)

You stare at your phone with a scowl as you read the text your older brother Smiley sent you. He said that he and Angry would both had some business they had to deal with involving Toman and some other gang who was getting too comfortable around their turf. So they would be a little late coming to pick you up.

With a sigh you put away your phone and gather your things and placed them in your bag. On the way out of your class you spotted a few of your friends, after catching up with them they offered to walk you to the school gates. You gladly accepted, and you were on your way, chatting as you went.

"So they didn't show today? I was wondering why I didn't see them around. Usually they're always on time." One of your friends spoke, referring to your brothers. "Right? No one was cowering in fear or screaming, so I figured something was off." The other laughed. There was truth to that, any time your brothers would come to pick you up, people who had common sense didn't get in their way or interfere. Unless they wanted to end up beaten and made an example out of.

This only counted for the guys, otherwise Smiley and Angry would just scare the girls off. He wouldn't always mean to, but his demeanor spoke louder than his intensions.

"Yeah. Those two couldn't behave themselves if their lives depended on it. Well...Souya has some self control, unlike Nahoya."

"Aaaand Nahoya is the blue hair one right?"

You laugh and shake your head. "No, that's Souya."

"I swear, you think the different hair colors would help you tell them apart."

You rolls your eyes. "You sound just like Chifuyu."

The conversation lasted until the three of you made it to the gates, where your friends waved you goodbye before leaving. And once again, you were left alone. You sigh and set your bag down, lightening the weight of it from your shoulder. "They better not land themselves in the hospital after this." You mutter as you lean against the gate.

An hour had passed since you were waiting, eventually you got bored and decided to walk home yourself. Normally you would have done this anyway, but your brothers were insistent that you wait for them. 'It's too dangers to go alone', they would say. But it only took about twenty minutes to go from the school back home on foot, so it couldn't be that bad right?

And so here you were, walking alone taking in the nice evening sunset. "I guess I should have called them so they didn't think I just disappeared." You say as you grab your phone. You called Angry first, but he didn't answer. The same thing happened when you tried calling Smiley. "Ugh. Really guys?"

You decided to just send them a quick text before continuing on your way.

Just as you were half way there, you heard someone yell out something from behind. You stop in your tracks as you recognized the voice. Turning, you were faced with the same two jerks who had insulted your brothers, the same jerks you beat to a pulp for doing so not two weeks ago. Narrowing your eyes, you place your hand on your hip. "What do you bozos want? Didn't get enough last time?"

"Tsk! I'd watch what I said bitch, before you get hurt!" One of them yelled, making you smirk. "Before I get hurt? Did I whoop your asses so hard that you forgot?" You begin to continue walking. "You two ain't shit."

"Heh, oh we ain't?" The other chuckled. "Then what about if we had a little backup?"

You furrow your brows as five more guys showed up, each one laughing and grinning, thinking that you were going to be an easy target. "This the girl that beat you? Bullshit! She don't look like much!" One of the new guys challenged.

"Woooow." You said, unamused. "You really need this many people to take on one girl? Man, you guys are nothing but a bunch of little bitches. I pity you."

One of the guys who was talking before smirked. "We'll see who needs pity...Kill the bitch!"

And just like that it was on...

Smiley scrolled through his texts as he read the message his sister had sent him. "Bad news little bro." Angry glances at his brother, who looked just as angry as he did, despite his grin. "Our sister's an idiot."

As the fight, well if you can even call it a fair fight, went on, you became more and more worn down. But not before you managed to take down a few guys. However, there were still plenty standing.

"I'm surprise little missy here can actually throw a punch!"

"Maybe she really is related to those devil twins!'

"Yeah, but she's no where near as strong as they are! Just look at her! Already about to keel over!"

You didn't have much room to argue, you were exhausted. Blood dripped down your chin and nose, your eye throbs in pain from being punched, and your arms and legs were about to give out. With a pant your raised your fists back up. "Come on." You challenged.

One of the men threw a punch that you just barely dodged, he made up for it by kicking you in the gut. "Ack!" More blood left your mouth before you fell to the ground. You gasped, desperately trying to get some air back in your lungs. "See what'd I tell ya?" The same guy who hit you turned to the remaining ones. He towered over you, placing his foot over your chest harshly, causing you to groan in pain.

"You may be related to those devil twins, but you ain't no where near their level. You're just another weak and helpless girl." You tightly shut your eyes, trying to keep in the frustrated tears that threatened to fall. "So, where's your big brothers now huh?"

The sound of a motor caught the attention of the group of men, they all turned their heads to see a motorbike pull up, driven by someone they're gonna wish they never met.

"T-There he is hehe..." You weakly laugh.

Smiley had gotten off his motorbike and approached the scene. Though, something was very off about Smiley. Your eyes widened and your breath involuntarily left your lungs as you noticed...

That Smiley...was not smiling.

"You know, it takes a lot to really piss me off." Smiley began, his voice absent of his usual easy going charm. "Sure, I get mad every now and then...but when it comes down to my family getting hurt..." Smiley's eyes opened ever so slightly to glare at the man who still had his foot on your chest. You were not his target but still, you couldn't help but feel uneasy by his expression.

"I get absolutely fucking livid."

Before anyone knew what happened, the guy standing on you was knocked to the ground, unmoving. Smiley turned to the other few remaining men. "Who's next?'

By the time it was all over, Smiley was the only one left standing. The beating he had received, were all marks of the fight he had along with Toman just before showing up. Other than that, these clowns didn't leave a single scratch on him.

He was exhausted though, but he ignored it for now. Stepping over a few unconscious bodies to get to his sister. "Hey...you good?" He asked, his smile still not returned to his face. You avoid his gaze, looking down with a slight nod. "Can you stand?"

You brought yourself to a stand, and immediately felt your legs begin to give out. Smiley caught you before you fell. Before you knew it, Smiley had you on his back, walking away from the aftermath of the fight. The walk home was a quiet one, that is until Smiley finally broke the heavy silence.

"So...wanna explain?"

Not really, is what you wanted to say. But that wouldn't get you anywhere with Smiley. "I didn't want to..." You muttered. "I was going to walk away but...then more of them showed up and..." You trailed off. "I would have gotten beaten up either way. I'm not strong like you or Souya."

Smiley was silent. He couldn't help but feel for his little sister. "All because we didn't show up on time. This wouldn't have happened if we did." He said, tilting his head up slightly. "It wont happen again sis. I promise."

You nod and relaxed a little. "Where is Souya?" You asked. "I told to hang back since he was hurting from the fight. We should be lucky he wasn't here, otherwise I wouldn't have been able to stop him from turning into the ogre." You shutter at the thought, you only ever saw your brother turn into said ogre once, and hopefully that won't change.

"You were pretty scary too Nahoya...I never saw you frown like that." It had been forever since you've seen your brother's eyes. So long that you forgot the color of them. "What do you expect? I see some punk ass beating up on my sister and you think I'm not going to get mad? But I am sorry you had to see that."

"You really lived up to your devil nickname, only without the smiling." You joked, laughing weakly. Smiley finally cracked a tiny grin. "Yeah? Well, I think you just earned a new nickname after today."

"I did? What?" You ask curiously. "Little devil!" Smiley declared. "Huh? What do you think? The Devil Twins and their tough devilish sister." Smiley continued. "You fought like hell back there, I'm proud of you. But also, never get hurt like that again, or I really will end up killing someone."

You giggle and relax against your brother. "Yeah, I'll try my best."

Bonus:

"What the hell happened to her!?" Angry yelled as he saw the state of his little sister. You smile awkwardly. "I uh...got into another fight. Against my will! Also! They fought dirty so it's not my fault!"

"Smiley!?" Angry looked to his brother for further context. "This tough little devil just can't stop picking fights." Smiley chuckled.

"I said it wasn't my fault this time!"

"She's a lot like us huh?" Smiley smirked. "Tsk, maybe more like you." Angry muttered. "What was that?" Smiley's smile twitched. Angry ignored him. "Come on sis, let's get you patched up."

She doesn't have a name but I'm thinking she's gonna be some kind of a divine sea mer, hence her large size and lack of scarring

I was thinking since Mer!Sky (Pink One) and Mer!Ruby (Red One) technically came from eggs, they have parents but are independent from day one (excluding sibling relationships, they need those until they find mates, but I'm not planning on pairing them up with anyone so Ig they're up for grabs) (Actually, take that with a grain of salt, I still gotta world build for them)

So I knew their parents were probably a monster mer and a human mer trying to procreate, but the incompatibility meant Ruby and Sky were the only successful (albeit defected) guppies of their brood

Anyways I didn't feel right giving them a parent that wasn't me because they don't have canonical parents in the original version, as they were created, not born 😒

So! I loosely based the mer goddess on the adult version of my persona! And was thinking maybe she ain't need no mans-

Essentially I got sea-salty (Ba Dum Tsss) about giving them parents (despite them being absent) so made up an alternative version where they have a goddess mer that I can project on grrr... So yeah, that's what this is

So originally I'd think Ruby and Sky had parents, but in these concepts their parent (singular!) is a sea goddess of creation or something Idfk, half this fandom is just making shtuff up as you go along and that's what I'll do

The idea is this mer was experimenting with new life, hybridization specifically, and I dunno, magical parthenogenesis type shiz cuz y'know, creation goddess

And then the two guppies are left to grow on their own (Sheesh, tough love- Nah, she knows they'll be fine 😭) until one day she seeks them out and reunites, impressed with how well they've developed (first doodle is her checking them out, somewhat in wonder)

The last two doodles are the sisters decorating her with kelp, like I said in my last mermaid post, I think the concept that social creatures gift things to each other to show kinship is interesting and I'm definitely incorporating it! I think here it would mean they accept her as their parent :3

Snail Mail Wanted

|| ~ Millennial Bookworm & Fangirl ~ || I thought I'd try Tumblr because IG penpal community seems too intimidating. Everyone has such gorgeous letters and I am one very tired millennial who doesn't have time for artistic and scrapbooky-like envelopes and letters. In saying that, however, I do enjoy writing 10 page letters of anything and everything and nothing all in one. The type of letter where, as soon as you see my letter arrive in the mail, you know to put a cup of tea on and get settled in... and it's like I'm there talking your ear off. (Which is hilarious because I'm a massive introvert who doesn't do that in real life. Unless I'm comfortable enough in your presence and you'll get that crackhead goblin energy from me). I do want to say that I would prefer writing with someone between the ages of 23 - 35. I feel like that's a good age bracket to vibe with, as I certainly don't act my age. So if you're expecting a wise, old woman. That ain't me. Wise? No. Old? ...well being 30 does feel old. Obviously I want to state that: Please do not expect fancy letters, or scrapbook-y decorated letters. I don't have the time or budget to maintain that. I just miss simple, long(ish) handwritten letters. That's it. With the added surprise of a few photos sometimes. Whilst I live comfortably, I am still someone on a budget, so sending parcels is just not doable for me, so if that's also what you're expecting...please find someone else. I would love, love, LOVE to be able to send Parcels but it's just not financially feasible. Alright... Now that we kinda know what to expect from my side of things... onto the daunting 'About Me' section! Hi. My Name is Charlotte. I am 30 years old, from Australia. I am a massive fangirl who jumps fandoms every six months or so but circles back to old fandoms too. I have 3 or 4 Tumblr Blogs floating around dedicated to Fanfiction etc for specific fandoms. I love reading! I have my own lil IG bookstagram account. But it's more to keep myself accountable for actually reading, rather than giving forth my opinion/review and annotating stuff (I don't know how to annotate). I've gotten back into reading after losing out on that long-lost hobby of many years ago. I am a creator of characters. I create and write OCs alongside my friend. 'Roleplay', it's called. But in written form. I love to play video games but I totally suck at them. However, it doesn't stop me from playing. I've also been wanting to get back into Animal Crossing to redo my Island but it feels too overwhelming to do that XD I used to do snail mail before Covid but...y'know...Covid happened and life got turned upside down for everyone. And then, I guess, 2023 became that 'healing back-to-normal' phase. So I guess...as we enter 2024, I think I'd like to have a penpal or two. I don't want to be part of anyone's collections. If you have five penpals already, please don't add me to the list. I'd like one or two because it feels like we're building a meaningful friendship, and I'd 100% like that. I would love to find a penpal from Scotland and Greece, but that's also not a necessary requirement. Anywhere is fine! Erm... I don't know what else to write? If I write too much about me, I'll have nothing left to write in letters. If I write too little here...I'll sound boring as hecc! (Which I am, but that's beside the point). OH! I guess...one thing I do enjoy collecting is coin from other countries. So... y'know...Ka-ching! but with coins. Not notes. I know life is expensive. so it Ben a while since I posted anything about Droannasaur out side of that vote which apparently no one cares about but why haven’t I posted anything for almost two months well cause I was not just having fun on my vacation but I also was making something to honor some I know

you see there was a another accident I knew of called @starquarck they were a sort of person I would talk to sort of but I like them and there art but one day they disappeared and out side of a few places there is nothing left of them

I want to honor them and make some art which were Droannasaur comes in these will be dinosaurs and other prehistoric creatures in @starquarck art style or at less a attempt I hope you like them and @starquarck where ever you are I hope you’re doing well.

And Uzi-yeah she ain't Doorman anymore bc I decided Drones didn't pick up on having surnames (and also she kinda isn't Khans daughter anymore buts that's not important rn *cough cough *)

So like Uzi is in her early twenties or late Teens in humans like yk age the same for eN

Uzi is a door guard that is unsatisfied with her job bc all she really does is watch out if the Drones that go outside to collect stuff come back after a certain time if not they're deemed dead and she yk really wants to so something against it so she secretly makes weapons behind her - semi adoptive dad? Back. Though she has troubles actually making good guns without them exploding in you're face

eN is a Disassembly Drone from the newer Bunch that got send to Copper 9 bc of the problem with the runaway A. I that also got aggressive and defensive so now they need more D.D to exterminate them, eN is from the newer models so she supposed to be more efficient in hunting em down but eN has a bit problems with doing so because of her a bit soft hearted nature she feels bad hunting them when they all defenseless (though thats why she hunt those down who have some kind of weaponry on them that makes her feel better about killing them)

Idk tbh im kinda disappointed with the series the more i think about it, it has so much loopholes and lost potential i just ig made this semi au/rewrite thingy to satisfy myself.

This attitude some 'fans' have of being owed. The entitlement. Forgive me, but I just don't get it, and I’ll be lying if I say it doesn’t also anger me.

How many music or film industry couples, you know, those you suspect are a thing but haven't made it official (in the media that is, not talking about what they do with each other) do we see gallivanting around in public, interacting, publicly, on SM with each other? Seriously. Try and think of that.  

Tom and Zendaya but one example. I'm not even talking about their public behaviour before they kind of confirmed they've together. But even after. They are doing them as much as they can in private, because that's what they want, that's what's good for their relationship. I don't see their fans screaming every second minute they've split up. Why's that?

And they, my friends, are a straight couple.

Not a queer closeted couple in a conservative country that is now taking sexuality and queerness, that barely got acknowledged as is, out of their school textbooks, because to acknowledge it can 'turn' kids. 

Not a country where people in the current administration call queerness a mental illness. 

Not in a country where these two so very brave and amazing men, who for years tried to tell us who they are and who they love, constantly pushing the boundaries, are now awaiting enlistment into a super homophobic military, one that still has an active sodomy law (it ain't cancelled yet), disallowing queer relations even off base on leave (because that has everything to do with their actual service...).

Add to that mail stealing (that we are sure of), blackmail claims (we even have a fan boasting on how they broke into JM’s apartment and stole private stuff from him).

I wonder how those fans would feel, their privacy being invaded in any kind of way, knowing there are those out there that not only threaten to hurt them (mainly JM), but have literally taken active measures to hurt at the very least one of them.

the entitlement of said fans, that’s what gets to me.

Even in more or less accepting societies there are still those that hide their sexuality, famous people, actors in openly accepting Hollywood.  People that have much to lose if they ‘come out’, if they admit to being in a queer relationship, even a long term committed one.  Popularity to dwindle, roles not to be offered.  And this is in a place they would supposedly be accepted. Not a country, a society that would most probably shun them for being queer, for choosing to have a life together as a queer couple, a country in which queer couples in long term relationships don’t dare to openly live together as it could cost them their jobs, their safety.

Even in Australia, again, a more or less open society (I’m talking about the big cities like Melbourne and Sydney), I know of a queer couple that built a life together, living together for over a decade, all while one of them is hiding it at his place of work, them thinking he has a girlfriend.  Because even here, even now, there could be implications for him if it was to come out.

As for them not being spotted together or supposedly not interacting on SM (their public accounts that is):

I’ve written a whole post about this - you know, not seeing them doesn’t mean they ain’t together, and I’m not going to go on repeat here.  

We have seen almost zero of them together in public (when not having the mask of working together, like in LV) since December 2021.  We have also seen almost zero interaction between them on SM, well their IG public accounts.  And yes, once again I’m saying this out loud - they are not personal accounts, they are public accounts for them to interact, individually, with the fans, not each other.  They have told us multiple times that they do interact privately with each other, even if they don’t tell us or show us on SM.

Back then, in Jan 2022 fans were going ballistic.  Rumours of breakup, rumours of betrayal, rumours of both moving on with others.  Oh, the fanfics you could write with these rumours (or perhaps these rumours were taken based on fanfics...).

honestly, for me the whole stream (maybe except for the junker queen cinematic) ranged from disappointing to plain bad. the money grabbing sucks, and they want to add a new character every few seasons? how about fleshing out the world more and providing some more character world and actual plot so the overwatch story isn't so patchy with missing chunks of story and information players asked for for years? sad.

I’ve seen quite a shocking increase of people talking about jikook and I’ve seen a lot of posts which have said they’ve also seen the same across other platforms like TikTok and IG etc. While it feels lovely that people are recognising the bond that many of us have seen and celebrated for years… am I weird for being a little scared for them? This has been a few years in the making anons.

I would say since JK's GCFT in 2017, but more so, officially, since 2018. There is a build, what we have been talking about a two step forward one step back over the past years. Showing us more and more every time, then a pull back into the deniability zone. Sending ripples every single time, and I think that over time gaining more and more attention.

2020 was a big year, especially after memories 2019 and Dynamite came out. RB being added to the official content, BS choreo, Dynamite holiday mix, got a hell of a lot of attention.

Now 2021, mainly after the release of memories 2020, and even more so after the MOTS ON:E dvd. Ooh la la, that got the tongues wagging. And since then many eyes have been kind of opened. People that had blinders on are now noticing. They are noticing the awkwardness, the looks, the blushing, the interactions, the electricity. Those eyes were open during JM's birthday Vlive. Some are still just sitting there opposite the screen with a big ass grin on their faces but not saying a word, and some are getting more vocal.

I get what you're saying anon 1. I too want to keep them all wrapped up and safe. But anon, I believe that this is something they wanted. It's them that have been pushing the boundaries. It comes from them and they are doing it together with BH. They want people to see THEM. They want to be loved for their true selves, and I think that the reactions that they have been getting so far, well the good ones, are outweighing the negative, or at least that's the feeling I've been getting. So, basically for this impatient anon I'm now gonna post my little bit of research and possible conclusion.

One of Alex's Spotify playlists was named Clapton Club and was created the day before or on Louise's birthday in 2018. Can't remember anymore but Snarcticmonkeys has the dates posted. Here are the playlist's songs which all pretty much scream Alex but particularly has Ain't No Mountain High Enough which he just karaoke'd the year before at Zackery's birthday party and Four Tops's Reach Out I'll Be There which Miles's side project The Jaded Hearts Club only released as a cover in 2020 which could mean that song is known in that group or Miles has possibly shared it with him before.

I found that kind of a specific title and knew about the district of Clapton in East London so I thought maybe there is a club called that. A short googling later I found a club called Clapton Country Club that was relatively close to where Alex lives and also had an IG which I perused to compare locations.

We also knew that Alex threw Louise a birthday party for her 30th (just like for Taylor 👀) in London in 2018 since she couldn't help herself but post this pic two weeks later as well as her sister, Emma and possibly Jonathan being in London at that time.

In March 2019 Emma confirmed with this post that there was a party since it has the same balloons in it Louise's holding above and even referring to her as "birthday girl" and the hashtag "the day after".

Now we're getting to the location of said birthday party which looked quite a bit like the Clapton Country Club if you google it and also look at their IG. One of their events showed they have a thing for AM.

And yes, you might notice that giant mirrorball hanging there. Turns out that's an interior design choice for all their events. It's a constant as you can also see with this post three months before Louise's birthday party. The only thing I don't get is why they had her party outside in December.

So yes, since Alex is rather impressionable I assume he really liked that massive mirrorball hanging there and that image stuck with him until he started writing for The Car. Maybe that song was even one of those he wrote before 2020 and just kept the lyrics and changed the music. It would explain why that's the video in which Louise was allowed to appear with her feet as he usual puts the girlfriends in music videos where the songs are connected to them.

I'm not saying this song is about Louise, just that this birthday party inspired him to write a song about a mirrorball and clearly turned out anything but happy and rather introspective. It also might explain why he's hesitant to explain how these songs come to be as it's sometimes just a trivial thing like a birthday party and that doesn't sound particularly exciting.

That's my theory.

Yeah, with the infection meter always climbing up to 100%, Scurge can get stressful. But that's honestly what I LOVE about it so much. You're always under pressure, forced to venture out into new territory, quickly get a lay of the land, do whatever you can to progress, and find the next medical bay to bring it back down to 1%. And even then it tends to rise to 3% or so before you can even leave the dang room. How much can I get done in this go? The infection is already at 60%, but I might be able to grab that last node and still make it in time. You don't die instantly on reaching 100%, it just rapidly drains your health, so if you can manage to pop enough enemies for health pickups without getting hit yourself, you might just survive. It's a phenomenal risk/reward system that I find REALLY FUN to push the boundaries of.

On normal difficulty I wouldn't say it's thaaaat bad overall, but I feel it's partly at its worst at the beginning of the game. You don't have the various projectile types to deal with enemies more effectively, and thus it gets a bit easier as you begin to acquire equipment. That's not to say there aren't later runs that get right down to the wire, but early game feels like a bit of a slog in comparison. There are at least two harder difficulties you can unlock by beating them sequentially, and W E W that shit gets INTENSE. .....okay the internet is gonna mcmurder me for this one, but imo... Scurge handles the infection/persistent danger mechanic better than Metroid Prime 2. Full stop. I love Prime 1 and 3, but the light world/dark world thing in Echoes is suuuuch a slooooog. You can barely see anything (it's way too dark), the very air saps your health so quickly, and the bubbles of light you could stand in? Restore, health, but. So. Incredibly. Agonizingly. S l o w l y . MP2 dark world felt more like a constant punishment that demanded you to slow down, rather than an engaging undercurrent of danger to get your ass moving. That being said, Scurge certainly ain't without its flaws. The progression is linear, rather straightforward when on a roll of playing it, but not the best at directing you when you return to the game after an extended amount of time. The camera tends to wildly whip around, as you said, and while that feels very responsive in combat, it proves to be pretty disorienting for general running around. I've heard it makes many folk motion sick, and I can very easily see that. ig i'm just built different or smth skdljfhg Speaking of disorienting: platforming. In isometric perspective. I can at least say with astounding confidence, as someone who has sampled many, many isometric action games for the GBA, that Scurge handles the control astonishingly well. Really it's more that, most isometric games just, kind of control like garbage?? But here, up on the dpad is straight up, down is down, up-right is up-right and so on. It's 1:1, no having to tilt the controls 45 degrees in your mind to determine where Jenosa steps when you tap any particular direction. But it absolutely does NOT solve the inherent issue of portraying depth and height with an inherently flawed perspective for doing so. The environment artists at Orbital did a fantastic job doing what they could imo, but there are always going to be sore spots. Flinging around with the grapple ability always feels like a crapshoot lol. In any case, if you ever go back to try and beat it, without spoiling too much I will say this: godspeed. =m=7 The final gaunlet is one hell of a fucking trial. One of those multistage things where, if you die in the very last, frustratingly-difficult-and-kinda-bullshit segment-- and trust me, you'll be dying there quite a lot-- it is back to the beginning with you. I really, really wish they made the final section just slightly more forgiving. It is REALLY GODDAMN COOL in concept, but the execution makes it a rather frustrating ordeal. I've actually still yet to beat hard, because augh I am stuck on that final gauntlet, but I really wanna unlock Super Hard (because of course) as I've heard it gives you a new tool to make things easier... here's to finding out for myself someday!
