it’s very easy to tell the good satires and pastiches from the bad ones because the bad ones are too afraid to live within the form. like if you are doing work with fairy tales and you are refusing to look closer at the underlying logic and unspoken rules of what can seem at first to be a senseless form, you are not going to create meaningful work. to borrow a turn of phrase originally used by maria tatar, if you refuse to enter “the house of fairy tale” as anything more than a gawking tourist, you will miss the particular order to the way the table is set, the rooms that are locked vs the rooms that are simply difficult to enter, the set of the floorboards and the position of the furniture. whatever you build will then be a gilded imitation of how you believe the house of fairy tale ought to look, the table set according to your educated specifications and every door open. there can be no interrogation of themes from a writer who views the form as beneath them!

i have developed a theory that troupemaster grimm used to be a moon god and his holy grounds uswd to bw where the city of tears lays now, though he was nomadic and cast constellations to make the wastes safer to travel. the nightmare heart parasitized him and his rebirth ritual to propegate and his former followers confused pk's light for their gods' as many creatures confuse man made light with moonlight

i tried to capture elements from both grimm and radi, and the nightmares are his will o wisps!

I reblogged it a few days ago, but that tweet thats like : find some little dude and draw him 80 times and watch urself improve. Here are some of my Baz's from the last two years in different styles. I had started trying to digital art, and frankly any art at all, during covid. top one is the first baz i ever drew. I still don't have a firm "style" altho my friends say they can recognize my art.

I'm in a particular mood this sunday morning, ,sentimental, perhaps i'm suffering saudade as i've yet to relinquish baz. I still have little stories i want to tell with him. some funny, some full of spectres and darkness (but persistently, hope.) and. very likely ill draw him more. he's like some weird mood barometer for me, art barometer, idk. this guy!! hm!! schmuck.

There is actually a female ziegevolk in a webisode apart from the series, and as far as i know she was a friend of Juliette

Now, based on her appeareance, i'm guessing their wesen form wouldn't really change that much compared to the human form? Idk, wanna hear what you think.

So, that's heckin' cool! I had assumed, because the only minisode/webisode I've seen or know about is the Bad Hair Day one, that Ziegevolk must be a primarily male species.

I've just read the synopsis of the story and now can only figure there aren't any main differences between male gender or female gendered Ziegevolk except for, perhaps, secondary sexual characteristics like the growth of or lack of a beard, the having of differently presenting genitalia, and mammary gland tissue growth, which is the same for people who aren't wesen.

So I assume that transitioning via hormones would act similarly to them in their human form as in their wesen form. Before reading this episode summary I also thought perhaps born male gendered Ziegevolk would be the only ones who could control others and that HRT might affect those abilities, but it seems moot with the new knowledge.

What is interesting is that their hormones work equally on male gendered and female gendered individuals (and presumably nonbinary and intersex folks). Additionally, it doesn't matter what gender they identify as or their presumed sexuality, their hormones work on everyone with the potential to be romantic.

And, really, if we're basing them on the satyr myth that tracks pretty well.
