Loki + Sigyn = You can't get over how tragic yet passionate their love is. After all it's the only thing we have of them together and somehow it makes the message of loyalty and compassion between lovers even stronger.

Loki + Angrboda = Either you're here for the tragedy that was their love, what could've been if only Odin didn't take away their children.. or you love the tall witch wife and small gremlin husband dynamic (me too :3)

Angrboda + Loki + Sigyn = You're tired of seeing the wives being pinned up against each other, heck it isn't even cannon to the mythology. You just want to see them all happy together while kissing. They deserve their polycule!

Loki + Gullveig = You don't actually ship them but if they had a relationship, it would be something along the lines of: one night stand parents trying to do what's best for their baby. Or you think Gullveig is actually Angrboda! 👍✨

Loki + Baldr = You either stand by the headcannona that Loki killed Baldr because he loves him (one-sided or not) and tried to protect him from Ragnarok. Or you have the "I hate straight people so I'll force these two to date even though they don't go well together." mentality. No, there isn't anything in between for you. 😭

Loki + Hodr = For some reason you just had to see the potential angst between these two! You love the dramatic storytelling of being betrayed by your lover, making you do their dirty work! You poor being, what happened? 💔

Loki + Sif = Possible exses? Secret affair? You live for the drama and desperately want to know what happened between these two.

Loki + (potential) farmer man = You wish we had more good representation of Loki being with a another man. (I agree!) So when Odin accused Loki of being a milkmaid and having children, it opend a whole new world to inspire you!

Loki + Skadi = The lokasenna was enough for you to decide they totally dated in the past. Also you love spiteful exses that will threaten to kill your children if they don't shut up…😨(spoiler: Loki didn't shut up)

Loki + Zisa = I don't know why you'd ship them If their "affair child" was supposed to be a secret but I guess you're into the drama. Anyways Zisa isn't real..she can't hurt me. 😌

Angrboda tries to write stuff that happens in the realms so that Atreus can read about it when he comes back:

Freya and your father fought but they made up the next day.

Mimir is "singing" lullabys to your wolves (they don't like it but can't run away).

Your father seems to be popular among some mortals in Midgard.

And he tries to do the same about the lands he visits <3.

When Atreus goes to other places and sees flowers and thinks they're perfect for Angrboda because he thinks shes the exact definition of perfection 😍😍😍😍 He finds the seeds and plants them around their little cabin just for her ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

A detail I love about God of War, particularly the Norse Saga, is that so many of the main characters are artists of some type.

Kratos plays music and carves instruments, tells stories, and even likes poetry.

Atreus sketches and has a knack for historical art and archeology.

The Jotnar tell their history through painted murals.

Faye left intricate markings of finger paint across many realms.

Angrboda is a painter of pigments.

Brok, Sindri and Lunda are blacksmiths who are pretty insistent on making and upgrading weapons with artistic flair.

Tyr is a world traveler who collects art from the places he visits and hordes them in his temple.

Not to mention just about every major character has tattoos, and the style of their tattoos often depends on the tribe they belong to. The Aesir’s are quite different from the Vanir’s, and the red marks Kratos bears to honor Deimos are so distinct from anyone in the Nine Realms.

RELATED THOUGHT: I find it very interesting that Kratos has told Atreus about the Muses. It doesn’t seem like he’s ever shared much about the Greek Pantheon with him, since it would obviously drum up bad memories. The fact he’s talked about the Muses suggests he might have had some fondness for them.

Before Ragnarök's release and reveal of the new characters, I tried imagining my own versions for the gods' designs.

My idea for Angrboða was centered around making her look like a personification of what we see of Jötunheim in God of War (2018).

Her hair was dark brown, down to her waist and slighty messy. At first it included few golden strands, however that made the design overcomplicated when combined with everything else. She had her arms covered in tattoos, which gradually 'faded' going from hand to shoulder area. One idea was for them to be Loki's prophecy written in runes, but I thought it would be a little cruel and could make interactions with Atreus awkward. Her clothing was a dress with long, loose sleeves. The colors were the same as the painting of Kratos & Atreus' journey (reffering to the painting in GoW 2018, not the one in Ragnarök's ending) and decorated with embroidery she made herself. All of this is initially covered with a fur cape; I imagined Atreus meeting her as a traveler in Midgard who's identity is revealed over the course of the story. Also, instead of Fenrir being Atreus' pet - he is Angrboða's traveling companion.

Looking at it now, the direction SMS went with is definetly superior to anything I could ever come up. Their artists have much better understanding of character design, my version sounds a bit over-designed and distracting.

Angrboda's love language is physical touch, so when they start dating she is always holding his arm/hand and is the one that starts all hugs and kisses.

Atreus is basically her plushie.
