Again, way too detailed notes about a Cleo stream (15.3.2024) because it was great and I want to remember. (Please Cleo upload your VODs again please.) Featuring an Ancient City, Hermit scariness ratings, a new Emerald Daddy, and Life series reminiscing with the Clockers.

Plan for today: Ancient City raiding!, to get books

She´s definitely going alone because Ancient City raiding on her own is terrifying but you know what else is terrifying? The other people on the server.

The only person on the server Cleo is afraid of is False. Not Gem, Gem´s a kitten. False could take Cleo in a fight and kill her dead, but more importantly False can scare Cleo because she´s quite sinister. 5am Pearl is kinda cute. “can kill you, probably won´t,” if you entertain her. Cub isn´t scary either, the only thing to be scared of with Cub is the grind. Doc is 95% bark.

(In hindsight, finding a Swift Sneak II book so early is a tease knowing that it´ll be the only one.)

Chat is way more scared of the Ancient City than Cleo is. Worst that can happen, you summon a warden, you die, and your gear despawns, so what. Cleo thinks people are trying to freak her out and scare her into making mistakes.

This stream was right after or during Mumbo´s video on Hermits´ weird playing habits came out so there were plenty of questions about Cleo´s set-up. Cleo defends their choices, also they have a desk now.

Hypno drops by to show off his new armor and announce a raid. Cleo calls Cub her Emerald Daddy because he supplies her with emeralds.

Cleo offers to mute again but Bdubs asks her not to, having her there is great. Like audience chatter.

Bdubs shows Etho and Cleo his scaffolding challenge as his shop advertisement. Etho: “He´s so clever.” Cleo: “He is, he´s a genius. That´s our special boy.”

Bdubs starts his spiel: “You think you´re so cool…” Etho: “I thought I was…”

Bdubs wins the first game because Etho has trouble ringing the bell. And the second one. Cleo soon realizes that it´s easy to make Bdubs lose by sabotaging the scaffolding. Bdubs swears Etho and Cleo to secrecy about this easily exploitable weakness.

Cleo keeps talking about how wealthy they are. Very profitable shop, after all! (…true but I saw Cub´s stacks of diamond blocks the next day. Fear the grind.) Cleo bankrolled Etho already.

After a conversation about pricing Etho tells Cleo they have to teach Bdubs about peer pressure. Then remembers that “she doesn´t like it when we do that, we gotta stop.” Cleo says it´s fine. (Yay boundaries.)

Cleo asks Bdubs for a horse. Bdubs accuses Keralis of fraud (secretly swapping the horses people bought from him if they don´t buy the extended warranty.) Cleo asks if Keralis is gingering his horses. They talk about the meanings of the word, and why ginger is also used for red-heads. Etho: “Is it ´cause gingers are spicy?” Moment of silence. Cleo: “…sure?” Bdubs: “Yeah…” Etho: “I think we nailed it.”

Some talk abut spelling variations. “You can just say you don´t know how to spell, Etho, it´s fine.” And then talk about British dialects, how they drop the “t” in the middle of words (or phrases). Etho and Bdubs try to imitate it, badly. They don´t seem to understand what “in the middle of a word” means.

Shopping district talk, and some reminiscing about Shade-E-E´s. Cleo steered clear because she didn´t know Etho very well back then. Etho has a different glass prank in mind for this season. Etho and Bdubs also remember an end rod exchange thing they did, they neither remember what started it or how it ended. 

Cleo: “I feel like you´re not spiteful enough, Etho.” He lets too much go. Bdubs protests that Etho lets it go with him, because they have a history – Etho: that´s right – but to anybody else Etho is very spiteful. Cleo: He´s never been particularly spiteful to me, “and I deserve it.” Bdubs, dismissive: nah. Etho: “Well, to be fair, Cleo *builds up a dirt wall like he did between them in Third Life* I am kinda scared of you.” Both crack up. “You´re not necessarily who I wanna be poking.”

Cleo clarifies that the reason why False is the only one who scares her is because False is very quick on the insults. Cleo can be fast, but False can be faster. Bdubs: “Now I´m scared.”

Etho tells Bdubs the story of why he´s scared of Cleo: “I always viewed Cleo as, like, sweet, innocent, you know, quiet…” Cleo cracking up. It was because Cleo stole Pizza, for no reason. “She was laughing the whole time, like a crazy psycho.” Cleo: “It´s a llama.”  “I just thought it was interesting, I had a complete shift of what I thought of you at that moment.” Bdubs: “Yeah, she can do anything.” Bdubs was also shocked at that moment. They hadn´t talked about it, Bdubs just supported her in her plan to cause trouble. Stealing Pizza was more of a crime of opportunity because Scar didn´t want to talk to her and left Pizza there. “Bold move.” “It´s just Scar.” Etho reminds everyone that the Life series was fresh at that point, they know now that this sort of thing happens but they didn´t then. Cleo didn´t know most of the people in the series very well so she went full-on chaos gremlin. She blames Bdubs.

Etho repeats that that´s when his perspective on Cleo shifted. “And it never shifted back. Like, the more stuff she did, it just got further in that way.” Cleo can understand that: she got worse, as time went on, chaos-gremlin-wise. Etho: now we´re in season ten of Hermitcraft, she´s stealing villagers… Cleo points out that it wasn´t her idea, but admits that she fully embraced it. Etho isn´t sure he would have, Bdubs says he wouldn´t have. Cleo: “What´s Doc going to do to me.” Bdubs: “Uh, have you seen the sand dial?” Cleo: “Have you seen what´s inside it?” Bdubs, clearly grinning: “Oh, yes, yes.”

Scar is online and Bdubs invited him over to find out if he was actually upset about Cleo stealing Pizza. Scar arrives on his horse, but stays away a few blocks. Etho walks up to him: “You may approach, Scar.” Scar ender-pearls up to them. Bdubs asks how mad he was at Cleo over Pizza, Scar claims he was looking up tickets to the UK to seek his revenge. “Pizza meant more than I can express.” Does a whole sad monologue. Cleo and Etho think it was funny, Scar demands they take it back. Worse, and what also really threw Etho, when Scar asked Cleo to her face if she stole Pizza she denied it.

Cleo: “Yeah, but I´ve had my punishment now, ´cause now I´m your mother forever.” Scar just realized: “The family! What a wonderful moment.” Etho: “Out shopping together.”

Scar has to wait for Skizz to enforce rules in the shopping district, but Skizz is off on the high seas. Scar: “What if the boat went down.” “What the hell, Scar!” “That´d be awful!” Scar imagines it as, you float for a while, maybe see a shark, then get rescued in a helicopter. Cleo: you might see someone else die, while you survive ´cause you´re the main character. Scar asks after a Titanic character and is surprised Etho immediately knows her name because Etho is usually bad with movie references.

Cleo: “I would never do anything to you guys, you´re my family.” Bdubs: That´s sweet.” Scar: “That was sinister.” Etho: “Trolls us.” Cleo: “Correct.”

Scar got a tip to keep a horse from wandering off inside a circle of berries from an e-mail. Only the best things come from e-mails.

Bdubs tries to prove scaffolding superiority to Scar. Etho and Cleo support the pitch. Scar is disappointed by mom and dad. Etho and Scar agree to give it a try sometimes. Bdubs says Tango puts redstone on scaffolding sometimes, Etho is horrified. Etho shows them that you can use scaffolding to clutch a fall. Scar tries it because it would also work on leaves – unfortunately Etho forgot to tell him that you need to crouch and he dies. He´s not going to be happy, but ultimately it was clearly his own fault. It´ll take him a while to come back, Bdubs feels like he should go get him but Etho and Cleo need to leave.

Ep 28 loose thoughts

I'm glad for the lighthearted opening, because I know it'll just go downhill from here. Also, PSJ lumped with the men while ZYZ gets to annoy them from the distance is peak comedy. Again, I'm pretty sure we'll need all the laughs we can get.

Also, this is purely from an aesthetic point of view, and seeing ZYC out of his usual deep blues, grays and indigos was jarring, to say the least. The sandy beige does not compliment his porcelain complexion at all... unless they were going for this washed-out, weary look specifically, in which case, A+ (and boy, does he have reasons to be weary lol). Bonus: Ying Lei and PSJ knowing exactly why he's calling ZYZ a bastard 😂

For PSJ, even if her views of demons shifted since we first met her, Xiao Jiu is first and foremost a kid who reminds her of her brother. So I understand where they might be coming from, and I still don't like that ZYC has to deal with his found family fracturing before his very eyes.

Yesterday was a shock in so many ways. Not only were the shows we had all been waiting for so long cancelled, but also because we were suddenly confronted with the fact that there was a planned terrorist attack, where people could/ would have died while enjoying a concert. 💔😭

I am from Austria, and when the news dropped (around 10 am on 07.08.) that there was a suspected terrorist attack, I had a feeling that a cancellation might happen. Because the police and authorities usually do their job properly, this must have been a serious concern (they evacuated the town of the suspect until late afternoon). So I really wanna thank the authorities for acting quickly! 🖤

I am still very sad that we couldn’t go to the show as planned and that I might not be able to see Taylor ever in my home country. But I am also very grateful that this decision was made in order to keep everyone safe. Even if the danger had been minimized (they never wrote "eliminated" for a reason), there would still have been a weird atmosphere where people didnt feel safe. We wouldn’t have had the show Taylor was so proud of over the last 1.5 years. Taylor and her crew deserve better. She put her whole heart into that show and it makes me sick to my stomach that she probably feels very bad about the cancellation (please don’t).

Another thing I realized yesterday was the solidarity in the Swiftie community. As part of this small corner of the internet, we know how messy it can get within the fandom. But not yesterday. Swifties from different parts of the fandom comforted each other. Swifties from all over the world tried to organize friendship bracelet trades, and Swifties who have a ticket to the London show offered theirs for face value. I could go on and on and on about this….

I know a lot of people feel heartbroken right now, and I am one of them. But I also feel very proud at this moment to be part of this amazing community and fandom (especially my bubble here on Tumblr). Those terrorists might have taken the concerts from us, but they will never take what it means to be a Swiftie. We can get through this together. There might be another chance to see her (well, my dream would be that she adds another date for all those who had tickets in Vienna, maybe in Munich or another European city), and if not, I have made my peace with it because I ll still gonna have her music.

All I can do today is stream her songs and remind myself how many times Taylor's music has been a source of strength, comfort, and joy in my life. Her lyrics put me through moments of heartbreak, celebration, a coming out and everything in between. Since 2009, her music has been there for me, and I know it will continue to be there, especially today ( I can do it with a broken heart ).

Last but not least, I hope that everyone, including Taylor and her team, are safe, and please don’t be afraid of our beautiful country. I would rather mourn over a concert than someone losing their life.

I want the story to respect Benedict because his character has so much potential and so much to offer. He hides behind his charming smiles and taunts but his eyes are always sad. As if he is looking for something-this one crucial piece of puzzle and he cannot seem to find it. shonda babes you better sharpen your quill.

+ all the instances that were supposed to be happy for Pen- the marriage, the engagement, the wedding night, ALL OF IT WAS RUINED BECAUSE of that stupid LW secret.

+Kate and Anthony still the best couple i do not make the rules. i don't think even Polin is topping them. tho Kate is certainly topping Anthony tonight.

+ the season was good don't get me wrong but it felt..a bit... rushed and its like the writers are focusing more on the future than savour the present. everything is happening because of the future seasons. idk if that makes sense

+i DID NOT like violet's treatment of kilmartin. i like violet most of the time but she didn't have to act so "unsure", distant and sloppy with kilmartin.

+I don't know why everyone is bashing Eloise so much. I pity her so much. Introducing a small preview of the next and last chapter of my Pepper angst fic (dw I'll still do some Pepper angst)

Context: this is supposed to be a flashback hence the italics. This is going off of a headcanon where if you really want to cut deep into Pepper, using humor against her, making her the butt of the joke and joking about her as if she isn't even there. The others don't know this of course, if they did they wouldn't do that. I'm trying not to make the girls that ooc believe me I am

Another thing, something Pepper does is that if she's super close to anyone and they do something hurtful towards her, whether they realize it or not, she always tries to make excuses for them in her head to rationalize the behavior no matter how hurtful it can be. Most of the time Pepper just assumes it's something she did and instead of rightfully calling them out she just... thinks it's something she did to make sure they don't get mad and leave her (they won't. If anything they would appreciate the fact that Pepper's being honest, they would apologize immediately. But Pepper is bad at feelings I'm afraid 😔)

Synopsis: The Reader is cold, and Albert hugs her to keep her warm.

She was cold...

So cold without her Lord, all she wanted to see was him. His perfect green emerald eyes that would shine bright, medium brown hair, charming personality and his calming voice that would always soothe her nerves. But it was wrong to like your lord because even though both of you are Noble people in the world, you were afraid he liked someone else or would leave you all alone. [Name] just got done with her task of the day and was told to go home by Albert since she used up all her energy just to go and watch the lovely snow fall.

No one else was here, so it was extremely silent. [Name] wished that they came back from the mission. All of her worries were on him since she wants to protect him. But she felt like she was too weak to even do that, especially for a busy person such as himself. Albert would always assure her that she is doing a great job at protecting him and would praise her for her hard-work.

You wanted to travel, you wanted to make Alternia better, you wanted to meet other trolls. You wanted to meet your matesprite. But for this it was necessary to leave the hive. You took the time to prepare for this, but finally you could escape and go free. You left the ocean hiding yourself under a hooded cloak. You couldn't let anyone see you, especially you weren't supposed to be seen by Dualscar. He was a loyal servant of Condesce and if he found out that you had escaped, he would catch you and send you back to your hive. You walked barefoot through the streets, not afraid of difficulties. However, in the first city you got into trouble, though not through your fault. In this city, the rebels staged their performance in the square. You heard about them from Dualscar and according to him they were one of the main enemies of the empress, but looking at the troll who spoke, wanting to convey his thought to others, you could not see him as an enemy. But you were forced to hide when you saw the highbloods approaching, about to arrest them. That day you went unnoticed and were sure that you would not see them again. But at the market, when you were going to buy some food for yourself, you saw how goldblood troll tried to bargain and buy bread cheaper, but it didn't work out. You watched this for a few minutes, after which you approached him and the seller.

"I will pay for this bread and for a couple more loaves of bread separately"

They both looked at you in surprise. You were shorter than goldblood troll and neither he nor the merchant expected that you had money.

"1 d0n'7 kn0w wh0 y0u 4r3, 8u7 y0u d0n'7 n33d 7h15"

You smiled at him.

"I just want to help a little, you won't owe me anything"

You gave the money to the merchant and gave him a large bag of bread, taking a small one for yourself. The troll looked at you with a slight frown, and then spoke.

"7h4nk y0u"

You just smiled at him, intending to say goodbye and leave, but the screams made you freeze in fright.

"Grab them!"

You didn't have time to react as goldblood troll grabbed your hand and ran. You could barely keep up with him. You ran until you disappeared on the outskirts of the city, in a small alley. You were both trying to catch your breath. You felt like your legs were buzzing and your heart was pounding. You couldn't control your emotions and laughed. Troll looked at you and froze. It was only after a couple of seconds that you realized that the reason for this was that your hood was falling off, allowing him to see who you were. You hurried to put the hood back on, but he already managed to see what you were trying to hide.

"Wh0 4r3 y0u?.."

There was no threat in his voice, but you understood that how this troll would treat you depended on your answer.

"I am an heiress... But I don't want to hurt anyone, honestly! All I want is a peaceful and peaceful life... I ran away and I just want to get as far away as possible, to a place where they won't look for me..."

You lowered your eyes.

"50 7h3 run4w4y pr1nc355..."

He looked at you thoughtfully.

He took you by the hand again, leading you further away from the city. You understood that maybe he was deceiving you, but you wanted to believe him. You wanted to believe that this meeting was not accidental.

Suddenly I woke up in a black void. "Hello y/n, my dear." I heard a weird demon voice say. "WHO ARE YOU, WHERE AM I???" "All will be well once you are mine my dear." I cringed "I HAVE A HUSBAND" the thing talking to me laughed a laugh that echoed all around me, running chills down my spine. "We''ll see about that." Suddenly I sprang up covered in sweat. "Oh, hey I was just gonna tell you that foods ready" jeff said turning his attention to me. I yawned and stretched. "Yeah?" He chuckled. "Yeah." I looked around. "Where's your brother?" "Oh, sully was nagging him to go on a killing spree, so he left before he got pissed." "Ok, so how far are we from your place?" He shook his head. "About 2 days." I groaned. "We have to walk two days?" "Sure do." He said handing me my venison piece. I took it and began to eat. "So when'll we start moving again?" "After we eat." I nodded as an ok, while I enjoyed my venison. After a few minutes we were both done eating. I looked at jeff and giggled. "What?" I shook my head. "You eat like a pig" I said pinching what was left of his cheeks. I hugged him "you're my piggy though." I held on to him and felt a weird sinking feeling in my core as I thought of that dream I had. He hugged me back. I sighed. "You ok?" "Yeah I'm good. You ready?" "Uh huh." We both got up and began our journey once more. We walked all night, until the crack of dawn when we crashed together. The next day was basically a repeat of the day before, except around maybe noon, we came up on a mansion. It was gorgeous. There were a few apple trees, wildflowers, and the mansion had a gate. It was a big black gate, for the black mansion. We walked up to the gate. "Jeff who the heck is this?" I saw a man with medium brown hair, goggles hatchets, and a mask say. "This is my wife y/n, Toby." The guy whose name I guess it Toby, crossed his arms. "Master is not going to like this and you know it. You can't just bring-" "i know. But I'm all she has, there's no choice but me. She's mine. And I'm sure Slender will let me keep her." Jeff said in a stern tone. Toby let out a sigh. "Fine I'll let you guys in, but don't do anything dumb." Jeff nodded "yeah, yeah yeah." Suddenly we walked into the mansion and turned into a corridor with what looked like a bajillion stairs. I looked up at jeff. "Goddammit!" I groaned. He laughed and lead me all the way to the top floor, which only had one room. Jeff took a deep breath and exhaled. He knocked on. The door."COME IN." I heard what seemed telepathic. We walked in to face a man wearing a suit, with no face and he was very tall, like SCARY tall. He had black tendrils going all behind him. He looked like he meant business. "JEFFERY, WHO IS THIS?" He said sounding a little irritated jeff looked at me. "I- I'm y/n." "WHY ARE YOU HERE?" He asked. "I'm Jeff's wife." He looked at Jeff. "WHAT MADE YOU DECIDE TO HAVE A WIFE WITHOUT MY PERMISSION?" I could see the irritation bubbling on Jeff's face. "I love her, sir, and I'm all she has now. I killed everyone. And I thought we'd be able to live here." "YOURE POSITIVE?" "Yes." "ALL RIGHT YOU CAN KEEP HER, BUT DO NOT MAKE ME REGRET THIS, UNDERSTAND?" "Yes, sir." "I DISMISS YOU." We turned around and left the office, beginning to trudge down the stairs. I'm afraid of the dream I had, and now I live with literal serial killers. I looked up at Jeff, and felt safer. I think this'll work out.

i’m glad your poll is no longer as anti-nina as it was, but it still makes me so sad my fav character is apparently everyone’s least favourite 😭 why do you think people see her as the most expendable (after matthias, which is a whole other can of worms)

I honestly didn't know Nina wasn't as liked as i though, i was sure she was one of the gv characters everyone liked.

I have diferent theories, maybe people see her as less expendable because, a lot of tumblr people prioritize ships over character and (as another poll of mine showed) at least among my mutuals helnik is not as liked as wesper or kanej , so they are not thinking on Nina as an expendable character, just a sacrifice to preserve the other ships (a very shallow reasoning if you ask)

Now , on the "least evil crow" i was expecting people to have diferent opinions, since the parameters of good and evil are diferent for every people. The thing is that i was expecting people to vote Wylan higher because a lot of us conffuse "nice" with "good" and Wylan is pretty much the nicer out of the crows. The surprising thing was that Inej ended up leading that poll while Nina got so little votes ,less that Matthias for godness sake.

My theory for that (hope is not true) may be that people have a really REALLY outdated labeling for bad and good

religious,quiet and wise girls are "good", loud, flirty and hot headed girls are "bad" , thats how a lot of people think and i am really afraid people might be fitting Inej and Nina on those labels. I adore Inej, with all my heart, you all know i do and i hate when people get her wrong. But between those two, the most heroic one , the ligther of the greys is clearly Nina. Not that Inej is a bad person, she is simply not the girl that is oriented to save a whole country, she still wins "goodness" points for going out of her way to save slaves. This is not saying is wrong thinking Inej is the least evil, just that so little votes for Nina make no sense.

Also, now that i think about it. It could be the already mentioned ship focussed mindset. Lets be honest, only half of the fandom loves and see Inej and Nina for their characters , the other half only see them as self inserts, only whorthy of being studied in their relationships with Kaz and Matthias. This is why EVERYTHING about Inej must be related to Kaz and Nina is better off dead than witouth Matthias (soc fandom has more misoginy than you would expect)

Therefore this people see Inej/Kaz as a devil/angel thing, while Nina and Matthias as a flirty girl/quiet boy , which probably supports while they are not seen as individual people , just extensions of their ships.

Now for the "which crows would win on a fight" which, obviously is Nina! can the other crows freaking raise the dead? I´ll leave it like this: Superman beats Batman, Batman himself knows it thats why he needs a lot of preparations and resources (so whoever voted Kaz over Nina, Jesper and Inej, like huh?)

I am NOT trying to prop out Nina at the expense of Inej,(i am not stupid, i know what that would imply) i actually think this is missing Inej´s character too, along Matthias she is the crow that goes trought the most moral challenges and she is shown to be extremelly competent at fighting by her own merits (she is the only important non grisha female on the whole saga) i think those things make her special.This is NOT to say people should like Nina more than her, i love that Inej is the most beloved crow in most grishaverse circles. I just think that people see Nina as more expendable (like the question said) because of a mix of stereotypes and shipping

rightyio. here goes. i´m loud, i talk a lot. i can come across as rude or stand offish. cause while i talk a lot. it´s usually about surface level things. i have a fear of trusting people. i write a lot of things to cope with my feelings. i´m struggling a lot mentally. i´m also afraid of being hurt again. so i (usually on accident) tend to push people away before they can know me. if you do manage to get past my guard. i will never let you go. i will protect you with everything i have. if you need to vent or a listening ear. i´ll be there. i am kind and i love helping people. but i don´t like showing that i´m vulnerable cause people have taken advantage of it. i´m not used to talking about/showing my emotions. and use a lot of dark humor to deflect. i love gaming and reading fan-fiction. as well as just books. i quite like drawing as well! and stargazing is one of my favorite things to do.

I think you'd pair well with Shadowheart.

Shadowheart is a good listener, even when you think you are just talking about those surface level things. Of course it would be a slow burn romance, Shadowheart would sneak in your heart a bit at a time, especially when she starts opening up and tell you the bits she remembers of herself. You both share this fear of being hurt and in a way it helps you form this pure bond of trust that you cannot share with anyone else, and that's because she has earned it with her hard work in your relationship.

The moment she realizes she likes you she doesn't step down or anything, she actually tires to stay closer, to prod you more towards opening up, and when you inevitably try to sneak away from her grasp, she grounds you.. what I call balance mhmh

We both know that the moment you finally allow her into her heart, she's not gonna let you go as well. She will put your wellbeing first making sure you don't get injured, that you stay hydrated and fed. Those rings that you can find in the house of healing? She snatches them quickly after reading the book, and she gives you the protective one so she can carry a bit of your pain. She will definitely be your shield.

Together you definitely explore your emotions more, you both have to relearn things about yourself and she'd be there all the way like you'd be there for her.

She'd love to read your books, or fanfics, especially after you go on a ramble about it and you start gushing over the story, she'd find it endearing..

Your first proper date would definitely involve stargazing. She likes to sit in a calm place and just get lost in the depth of the sky, and your presence there would just make it perfect. It would be so effortlessly even in its slow evolution, but she'd love you so purely and so unashamed that maybe you won't be so afraid anymore.
