Theories after 109 (Bungou Stray Dogs spoilers)

Ok, sudden idea.

I read somewhere on Twitter (I don't remember their name but thank you for the seed now planted in my brain) that Dazai's body looks strange through the cameras, as if Light Snow were used. At first I thought it was a good idea (I love when Light Snow is used in the and outside battles!) but then I recalled how he is KO right now (or at least, until chapter 109).

And after that I remembered the book I'm casually reading: Snow Country, whose autor is Yasunari Kawabata.

Yasunari is cited on Wikipedia as one of the greatest minds on Japan, with Akutagawa Ryunosuke, Osamu Dazai, and Jun'ichiro Tanizaki. In this arc, Akutagawa is one of the first vampires. Dazai is presumably dead. And then again his body looks strange through the cameras).

Maybe that person is right: maybe we are seeing a new character with an ability that works similar. We saw it with Kouyou and Kyouka: their ability is almost the same, but they are different characters and they had story IRL (Kouyou was Izumi's mentor; Dazai sent letters to Yasunari).

Maybe im too delusional to see a new character with a similar power but at least I'm having fun with this silly little idea.

Hotaru makes her first real “friend” in the agency when she meets Naomi! They both help each other out a lot around the office, particularly on Naomi’s part when Hotaru joins missions. Hotaru always literally drops to her knees to thank her for this lol, just on the ground like “THANK YOU NAOMI YOU ARE MY ANGEL 😭😭🙏 HOW CAN I EVER REPAY YOUUU” (the answer is always a trip to the cafe for a little treat, and sometimes Junichiro joins them :3 )

I also imagine she’s pretty close with Yosano. Idk why but I can see them discussing literature together! They talk about it while doing the grocery shopping together! It’s sort of a little tradition of theirs…. :3c

Dazai she already knows, not just because of Kunikida’s excessive complaining, but because they’ve actually ran into each other before! Usually when she’s with Kunikida. Dazai would just appear randomly like “heeyy it’s the Kunikidas! I was just on my way to jump off a bridge but we should all totally go get ice cream!”

^She thinks he’s a little weird but she knows he’s actually super valuable to the agency, so she respects him anyway

Her relationship with Kunikida is kinda silly; she’s super nice to everyone but him lol (sibling moment). And he definitely returns the favor…

Kunikida is also the only one who tries to stop her from coming on missions (because 1. she’s not technically an agent (yet 😈) and 2. big brother protectiveness). Everyone else is always cool with her tagging along; they’re even grateful for the extra help!

And ofc she thinks Ranpo is the coolest ever!! She gets super shy around him though, so they don’t really interact a lot at first. But he thinks it’s cute 😌 just like her WHO SAID THAT

Ermm I think that’s it for her relationships within the agency!! She’s pretty normal about everyone else (like Kenji, Junichiro, Atsushi, etc), meaning she’s just nice to them and they’re nice back :) she’s pretty well-liked, and she doesn’t hate anyone (in the agency at least….)

i haven't read enough books to talk about any oc 's with abilities but if you ever share yours i would be super excited to see! i also had a strange thought about ellison's "i have no mouth but i must scream" as an ability (which probably isn't the best work of his to use, but i loveee AM as an antagonist). recently i found out shakespeare is a transcendent like verlaine in bsd so obvs i have to know what ability he has

Ayyy, when I found out he was a transcendent I was so hyped, ngl. I wanna know more about him honestly, and the organizations in Europe and America because there's so much that could be done with them. Also, because I'm more familiar with European authors than basically all other types of authors, I really wanna see more of how Asagiri interprets them.

As for Shakespeare's ability, I think, a lot of his plays either have to deal with love, betrayal, or jealousy (i think... I've only seen very few Shakespeare and it was mostly for school. I haven't touched Shakespeare for a long ahh time) so his ability *might* have something to do with that. Like maybe a mind manipulation ability or an ability that can control/read emotions? I think that would be interesting. But either way, it's definitely something really overpowered like Verlaine's and Rimbuad's abilities.

Also pls tell me more about that thought you had!! I've read briefly about I have No mouth, and I must scream, and I gotta say, it sounds like something I'd definitely like. Sci-fi also happens (i forgot to mention this in the previous response oops mb ldslfkjlkj) to be my favourite genre, especially dystopian or really futuristic stuff, so I'd love to hear your thoughts about it :D

as for the others!

following what was a long ride of a custody battle, elise was adopted by bruno jjba and the rest of neo passione (a stand user specific group currently set up in yokohama with the help of ango sakaguchi) and turned into a real girl via rohan jjba's ability, heaven's door! she was given the stand the offspring immediately after by a stand arrow

very funny to me this one got no votes i'm glad yall can see the vision.. akutagawa and aubrey met through chuuya running into her first, and they did not get along initally but more bonding later on and the sibling dynamic developed from that

the aforementioned shepherdstown!! explaining this one would be better as a post of its own tbh but basically the reincarnations, while not aware of their status as such, all have a drive to be better then who they were. the demons are harder to explain and also i can't fully explain them without spoiling things <3

ranpo can hear (and talk to) the narrators! him getting shot by a sniper was what kicked off the mvrp's version of season four. he's okay though. mostly

wanting to check out neo passione and see if they were suitable for protecting yokohama as well, mii-chan has been staying with them for a while. not knowing he already had a name, giorno called him urbano, basically meaning city cat (mild sidenote: neo passione's base is a renovated hotel, seeing as they have a lot of members.)

yeah this is a thing. LARPers to lovers slowburn is still ongoing. is it gay to throw a poisonous snake at who you think is satan and then have to drag him to the hospital, and then decide from there you have to be his caretaker to keep him from tempting people into sin so you start following him around and you have dumb little arguments on the regular

while the dynamic hasn't been touched in a while due to shit going down in yokohama and unn having her own issues going on, when they were trapped in a void in the prologue of the mvrp (basically a hollowed out space between worlds) they did get along well

SO! there is a coliseum in The Mall (a large multiversal hub), and that's where this fight took place. the dog in question is otis, a corgi who's part of the voidwatchers (a very old organization with a select few, small amount of members who have taken it upon themselves to keep an eye on the voids, along with other related duties), and not only that, but one of the most powerful ones. with powerful fighting prowess and the ability to not only open spatial rifts but also be just fine in space, otis is a menace to deal with if he ever wanders into the coliseum

ENIA!! ENIA is a infinitely sprawling supercomputer who used to rule a whole universe, but after being defeated by The Boss, it's begrudgingly started to be.. somewhat better. still murderous, still mean, but it is actually a good mom figure to isaac. it spoils him and has even coded a filter (isaac_filter) for itself so as to not swear around him

he saw chuuya chiding akutagawa during the beach episode and did mental gymnastics from there.

manifestation might've been the wrong word, my bad, but basically, ceres is the multiverse forming a self with which xe can converse to those who reside in it. ceres can look however xe wants, and xe.. thinks making xerself short is funny because many tend to assume such a being would be towering over others. i will make a post about ceres someday because xe is one of my favorite ocs hehe

hoo boy. there’s about… three different references in it, ones i’m not quite willing to explain because i will out myself as a enormous nerd. but it’s subtle enough that most people won’t get it so it’s ok. so i chose it because of the amount of references i could fit in it without it seeming overt.

i have. a lot. if you look at my bio for my main, there’s a list of sideblogs i have. a dead writing one, some dead ask blogs, an au blog i need to get back to now that school isn’t actively kicking me in the face… and a dimitri one from fire emblem that’s currently thriving now that i’ve revived it. anyways i have a lot of dead ones but i’m fond of them so they’ll stay there.

i don’t really like the idea of them because of how much guilt tripping they do. sure they’re about important topics, but there’s better ways to raise awareness than to guilt trip people into talking about it. they make me anxious if i’ll be honest, and that’s not great.
