Johnny is 100% that actor that keeps going even when he feels terrible, sick or injured. Which is more of a fighter quality in him combined with dedication. He most definitely took an awful lot of damage and had bones broken through championships and he had to suck it up, ignore the pain and keep going until he's either the victor or can't move at all. And now thinking of him telling Smoke "there isn't a bone in body that wasn't broken" when he asked if he ever had accidents on set, makes me think of him going through a whole shoot and just sitting down casually afterwards like : yup that's a broken rib-
