i believe that quite a few femmes on this website only choose to interact with butches in a sexual manner. whether it's through only following butch nsfw blogs or sexting in messages, these femmes only engage with butches for their sexual pleasure. i understand that having an irl lgbt community is a huge privilege and not accessible for many, but limiting interactions with butches to sexual ones causes femmes to ultimately view them as sex objects. butches don't exist for femme pleasure. if you don't understand that, you're not a femme. if you're not willing to interact with butches outside of a sexual context, you're not a femme.

recently, i made a post about the importance of respecting butch bottoms and butch submissives. the point of the post was essentially that you need to respect all butches regardless of whether or not you're attracted to them (including butches who are butch4butch). the notes were filled with femmes talking about how much they loved topping and dominating butches. not only did these femmes miss the point of the post completely, but they engaged in the same behavior that i alluded to. i have heard so many stories from my butch friends of femmes sexually harassing them even after being asked to stop. this behavior is not cute or flirty. it is objectification, fetishization, and harassment.

respecting all butches regardless of whether or not you are attracted to them is essential to the femme identity. if you are unable to view butches as autonomous human beings who do not exist for your pleasure, you're not a femme. if you only want sexual attention from butches, you're not a femme. please educate yourself on the history of the femme identity if you are just using the label to gain butch attention.
