The film grossed over $390 million worldwide. For his role as George, Sheriff of Nottingham, Rickman was accorded the BAFTA Award for Best Actor in a Supporting Role. The film’s song, “(Everything I Do) I Do It for You,” by Bryan Adams, was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Song.
