Peter and Sirius had an ongoing bet about who would be the first to go to jail after James and Barty got together, because of course, with there now being two of them, there was double the prospect of chaos.

When Barty called James at 2AM on a random Tuesday, asking James to bail him out of jail, James' immediate response, as expected, was to call Sirius, in a very panicked state, as he headed to the ministry.

Sirius, ever the chaos causer, reccommended, that he tell the Aurors that they had made a mistake, and the culprit, was in fact a stray puppy.

James, being the BIGGEST idiot, took his advice and went in to inform the head Auror, who just so happened to be his good friend Dorcas, that she had the wrong guy, and she should look for a stray puppy by the name of 'Mitsy'.

Surprisingly, and to the delight of Sirius, Dorcas obliged, not bothered with dealing with her friend's bullshit. Using her power as head auror, she dissmissed the charges of breaking and entering into a muggle zoo, to enchant the elephants, and immediatly went to call Lily, and have a chat about not making spells for the boys, just to do stupid shit. She denied it of course, but her spellmaking style was all over this.

It didn't matter though, the job was done, and by the look on Barty's face, after being left with the dementors for 24 hours, there would be no stupid crimes committed by her friend, for a good while.

Peter, won the bet, of course. Having grown up, with both boys, it was immediatly clear to him who would be arrested first. He quite enjoyed his free trip to the Bahamas, thank you very much, Sirius.
