I think I had fun writing this chapter. I can certainly say I feel much happier with this one than with the last. Let me hear your opinion on it. I also wanted to say I am so thankful for all the support you have showed me. I think knowing that you all still enjoy my writing even though sometimes I feel uncertain about it makes me feel good and confident. Knowing how patiently all of you have been was a huge relief as well. These last few months I been feeling a lot of uncertainty and frustration. And I know my last posted chapters might reflect it. Slowly but surely I been trying to push past all of that, coming to my work with new eyes, and I hope this chapter reflects it. For all of you who showed me your support, be it by still being here or daring to send me kind words. Thank you so much. I love you guys.

Hope all is well! Just wondering if you’ll be updating Lost again soon, it’s a great story!

Hi! Sorry for not replying sooner. First of all, thank you so much for your words. It brightened my day to know that you like the story so far, I thought people had lost interest in it. To be honest, I was kind of down about it lately.

But yes, I do plan to update and eventually finish Lost Again. It's just that I have been a little dry on ideas lately, and I haven't been able to make the draft I had for next chapter work (im not 100% happy with last chapter either) so I am a bit stuck at the moment. I feel like there is something missing, but I can't quite grasp what yet, so I am a little stuck. Sorry for leaving you hanging for so long, but I promise I am working on it :(

Chapter 10 of Children of Woe is up!

Small Glimpse of the chapter:

“You didn’t tell me.”

“I… I was meaning to…but I…” Kaeden sighed. Looking down at her hands like a kicked puppy.

“You kept this from me.” Wednesday took a step back. “You knew he…” she cut herself off. Clenching her jaw, her lips pursued, jaw tightening and relaxing a couple of times, mulling over the thousand bites back she could come up with. A deep sight left her lips, her eyes narrowed on her ally one last time, shaking her head, before walking away.

“Wednesday…” but her words hung in the air. Kaeden felt tears prickling her eyes. “Wednesday please!”

But Wednesday ignored her. Walking away until she disappeared in the mass of students. Sending a thrill of disappointment through her veins. Her heart fell into a pit. Kaeden remained frozen. Standing in place staring at the space where Wednesday stood moments ago.

“Please…”

heyoo, beta read askee here, got a few follow up questions!

How would one become the beta reader (asking for a friend frfr)? Would it have to be like a close friend or is there like an applicationnn?

on a real note how would it be chosen?

Mmm, it depends on the writer, of course, some writers like to make aplications for Beta readers, they share some mock up doc and try and see if they could work along (if they like the critics opinions, etc.) If they do then they become the Beta reader. Others just go with trial and error to see if they are comfortable with what is being reviewed. Others are just through volunteers or requests. A writer asks for a beta, and they pick, or someone volunteers and the writers choses.

One important thing I have been told is that it should never be personal. Sometimes, the writer will just be like: okay this isn't working or just like, I think I'll try to take it on my own from here, and there shouldn't be hard feelings about it, it is what it is, the same goes for the Beta, they have the right to say, okay just Im done or I can't keep up anymore and it should be okay.

Reviewing and being reviewed is a very personal and hard job, but it should be taken as a learning curve. For both parts. No hard feelings, sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't, and that's okay.

As for how they would be chosen, I think its with trial and error. Just ask if you wanna beta someone, state clearly what kind of beta are you wiling to be. Offer up what you wish to bete for. And see if you can make it work, and if you do, then you just keep on, hear the writers' wishes, what they want reviewed, and what kind of changes they are willing to accept. Mostly, what kind of beta do they need and work from there. Comunication is a key, in my opinion, and the rest I think falls into place at some point.

Terrible times, to be honest. I have been reading a bunch of books to get into the gig again. I am gonna have some extra free time for a couple of weeks as well, so hopefully, I will be able to bounce back full force ;)

Mhmm, I can't say I haven't thought about them tbh, sometimes I feel like an outside eye might be helpful as well, someone that is really into the story and willing to keep it on track or rainstorm ideas. But I have had bad experiences with reviewers in the past, and I dunno, guess I never put much thought into it. I think I might be open to the idea? I can't outrightly say that I oppose to see if it works, though...

I hope you guys enjoy the chapter, I know it's been long, but I tried to compensate with an extra long chapter, some fluff, some Tara and Reader dynamic... anyways. Also! The plot is in motion now, guys! Wuhuu, that being said, I hope you all enjoy it
