“I would die for you” doesn’t mean much to Gen-Z.
Like, it’s a nice sentiment, but lots of us would die for anyone, so the message isn’t quite the same.
We need a different way to express love, affection and loyalty, such as “I would put up with a moderate inconvenience for you”. Or for those who you really, really care about, maybe even something like “I would wear wet socks for you”.
To get serious for a moment though, when life gets tough, don’t tell someone you would die for them.
Tell them you would live for them.

if you’re an adult that works with kids of any age do me two quick favors:
learn the symptoms of adhd and autism and their presentation in all genders. you dont have to be an expert, just know a bit about it beyond popular knowledge.
learn to recognize signs a kid is being abused in any way. beyond bruises and black eyes. learn to recognize the fearful apologies and hesitation. do some research.
do me these two favors and save tens of lives.
that’s no exageration either. after teaching my mom basics about mental disorders, she started spotting neurodivergent kids in her classrooms and helped them get help. almost every child she’s helped has been diagnosed with the disorder she predicted and none of them would have been diagnosed at a young age without her help. knowing this stuff matters.
learn. save lives. don’t make kids grow up in fear of their symptoms and family.

Sounds to me like the right person was in the right position as superintendent. I bet she was a great teacher.

One month ago, Tumblr made the wildly unpopular decision to ban pornography and adult content from its website.
The move was greeted with outrage, particularly from those who had used the site as a way to discover their own gender identity and sexuality and connect with users from similarly marginalized groups. Critics accused the site of attempting to please larger tech corporations, like Google and Verizon (which owns Tumblr), at the expense of these groups. Tumblr CEO Jeff D’Onofrio, however, maintained that the changes were made to foster a more “inclusive” community.
“As Tumblr continues to grow and evolve, and our understanding of our impact on our world becomes clearer, we have a responsibility to consider that impact across different age groups, demographics, cultures, and mindset,” D’Onofrio stated in December. “We will … focus our efforts on creating the most welcoming environment possible for our community.”
One group Tumblr apparently has no problem continuing to host, however, is far-right extremists, who seemingly survived much of last month’s purge unscathed.
The website is currently littered with pages promoting Nazism, white supremacy, ethno-nationalism, and far-right terrorism. Despite their often flagrant violation of Tumblr’s Community Guidelines, these pages remain largely active and easy to find.

Gen Z culture is protecting your little brothers from your parent’s attacks, and having to listen to the 8 year old say, “I wish this was all a nightmare,” yet still questioning if you are really being abused.

My dear lgbt+ kids,
Here’s simply a big hug to those of you who recently came out and got a negative reaction.
No matter if it was a family member, a friend, your partner, someone you know from school or work or even “just” somebody you’re not close to/don’t see regularly: It hurts.
You don’t need to deny your pain. It doesn’t mean you’re weak or that you’re not proud of your identity.
Opening up to someone, telling them who you really are, only for them to get angry, not believe you, make fun of you, brush it off…, that is heartbreaking. It’s scary.  It might make you regret your decision to come out, even make you second-guess your whole identity. It can make you feel unlovable, not good enough.
Please know that there’s nothing wrong with you and how you feel. They are the ones who are wrong! You deserve better.
I know that it can be difficult to stay positive during hard times, so I’m not going to tell you to. Right now, you don’t need to feel strong or proud. You’re allowed to feel disappointed or stressed or heartbroken.
Better times will come, I promise.
With all my love,
Your Tumblr Mom

Newsflash: you can be racist towards white people!
Now, before I start, let's take a look at the basic definition of racism.
rac·ism
/ˈrāˌsizəm/
noun
• prejudice, discrimination, or antagonism directed against someone of a different race based on the belief that one's own race is superior.
Based on this definition I stole from Google, we can see that:
- NOWHERE does it say that it only applies to certain races
- It specifically says "prejudice, discrimination or antagonism directed against someone of a different race"
Meaning that, if you are of a different race from someone, you can be racist towards them.
For example, a white person may make a comment saying "black people are all aggressive criminals" or "all Asians have to be amazing at math or their parents will beat them".
On the other hand, a black or Asian person may insult a white person by calling them a "stupid white mayo" or saying that "all white people are ugly".
Both of these scenarios fit the basic definition of racism, so they are both racism. Racism doesn't only apply to certain races. It applies to all races. If you are insulting or discriminating against someone because of their race, you are being racist.
It's just a fact.
