For that matter, how did he turn it back on and (he and Antonio) use it flawlessly while the rest of the family were shown struggling with their powers as the house was cracking?

i just love how confused camilo is at the end of encanto. he’s basically been out of the loop with what mirabel was doing for the whole movie so everything that happens seems fucking wild

While I appreciate that Disney finally gave us a main character with glasses, I’m still waiting on a miracle good representation.

She’s walking through moisture here. That’s the only way you’re going to get a rainbow. Her glasses should fog or be riddled with little droplets. I’m not 100% sure how that would work because I’ve never walked through a human made rainbow but just ugh....

I can’t get over how many people on earth wear glasses and it’s just, never talked about, never shown how much of a pain in the ass it is to have to take them off and wipe them so many times. Rain and moisture is a huge hindrance to the simple ability to see.

I know, I know, not important to the story. Most people don’t care, but it’s very frustrating to see a disability that they didn’t get right.

I don’t want to be rude, but you keep spelling “Isabela” wrong. It’s important that it only has one “L” because two Ls makes is a whole different letter that sounds different in Spanish.

Aw crud. Have I? Yeah, it's literally an autocorrect issue, sadly. :/ Computer is fine with "Isabella" but if I type "Isabela", it give the red underline and tries to change it. -_-

I have noticed and I really appreciate that there is an easy rule for spelling Encanto names and that's "No one gets double letters." :) I actually found an instance of “Camillo” Oops.

I think I found all of them and fixed it though. Cheers.

This movie has so many details, god damn....

I’m rewatching Encanto for the nth time and this time I see when Isabela and Camilo are dropped because they’ve lost their powers and because I’ve always focused on Camilo looking at his hand, I didn’t even notice Isa looking at the plants behind her melting and withering. It’s so obvious now and takes up half the screen, how come I didn’t get that the last 5 times?

I wonder if it’s because that’s just a thing he does when he’s nervous or if he really did break his arm in the past or something.

I had a really bad accident and I’m healing, but I’m finding I’m carrying my hand in an upside down claw every so often as if I was still injured.

..not sure how to break that habit. It’s not in pain or anything anymore, it’s just what I do.

New headcanon: Mariano reflexively hides his nose with his hands whenever he sees a rain cloud or hears thunder. Yes, it’s been years and he will never stop doing it.

Dolores: I like guys who are environmentally aware.

Abuela mentions that she will find a way to put Antonio’s gift to good use for the day.

....So everyone starting at 5 years old just goes and works for the town? Do these guys get friends? Or go to school so they can get friends? Just years of toil and labor for everyone?

What does Dolores do for the town?

For that matter, what does Pepa do? Does she just sit around and force herself to be sad or angry to water the crops so no one goes hungry? These aren’t gifts, they’re a nightmare.

She heard not only someone's eye twitch but was able to identify who it belonged too. You bet she can hear which finger you're moving and what direction, probably by the blood moving in your fingers. I bet sign language is not difficult for her.

Though I do wonder when does this poor girl sleep?

I’m surprised none of the Madrigals learned sign language so they could say shit without Dolores hearing.

Oh, this ABSOLUTELY happened.

I have this theory that Mariano was the one who started asking around for supplies when Casita collapsed.

He might have just had his proposal ruined and his future in doubt but he’s a sweet guy who was concerned for the Madrigals, especially when he heard Mirabel was missing. The town only has vague knowledge of how Casita crumbled, and a few supplies from someone who had housing materials left over, a shovel and some speckle later, he finds himself organising the town into a support rally to repay the kindness the Madrigals have shown over the years.

He’s not a leader, so he deferrs to his Abuela who knows better, and while some of the townspeople are helping the Madrigals search for Mirabel, they gather together to form the crowd shown in All of You. Osvald has some ideas and the priest has a copy of Casita’s blue prints that Alma gave him for safe keeping years ago, fish lady has an eye for design and knows how to use dyes.

Just. Mariano is a tender hearted himbo and you can pry this headcanon from my cold dead hands.
