One time, in Sunday School, my teacher was trying to teach us to guard our thoughts. She made the claim that 'you can't turn off your thoughts', which of course I immediately challenged. She would not believe me that I was able to clear my mind and stop actively thinking... is this something women have trouble with or just people in general?

if elves lived in modern america they would be rednecks im sorry but it's true. imagine you meet a tall guy who's always in a baseball cap and driving around in his truck and learn that he's a crack shot with a rifle, like insanely good. okay that's pretty cool i guess. but it starts to get weird cuz he's so good at identifying edible plants that he practically survives off of berries and wild game and his mom's homemade bread which is the absolute best stuff you've ever tasted in your life. his truck, which he tells you he essentially built himself with the amount of repair and replacement work he put into it, is either insanely well-built or insanely lucky, and drives right on through snowdrifts and mud pits and potholes like they're nothing. the first time he tries to take you on a hike he drags you uphill for two straight hours with a cheery smile on his face and seems genuinely surprised when you're worn out at the top. sometimes when you're out in the woods his head turns around at what you swear is literally nothing and he's like "oh yeah there's deer 'round here you can hear 'em. loud as all get-out." when he finally takes off his fluorescent orange snapback and shows you his pointy ears and tells you he's immortal you're just like oh that makes a lot of sense actually

God is the only One that is holy. The church is NOT holy. The church is made up of sinful people. The prerequisite for Christianity is being an unholy sinner in need of a Savior.

Imagine seeing that someone on your political team sent death threats to someone else, and your first priority is not “death threats are wrong and they should not do that”, like a sensible person

Your first priority is attacking the person bringing attention to the death threats, over something you made up from thin air. 

Imagine being that hateful.

And harassing people will promote empathy…how?

I love this bit. 

Even when this person is trying to look reasonable, they still talk about “plausible deniability”. 

As if the only possible response when informed of Hogwarts Legacy’s alleged issues is to instantly bend over forwards to accommodate some angry strangers.

Not to mention implying that death threats can’t provoke real tears. 

It’s all about empathy apartheid.

Same thing happened to me. I got ganged up on by the whole LGBT community for saying “hey maybe don’t Molotov small businesses to make a point about racial justice”. The harassment was so bad that I decided to convert to Christianity and go to reparative therapy. It turned out to be the best two decisions I have ever made because I’m not constantly miserable like I was when I was gay.

Honestly the lot of people who were raging against the game should have shut up. They gave this game more Streisand effect than I've seen in a damn long time.

You can be so annoying that people stop giving a fuck and just want to piss you off.
