I am glad to report that an expanded version of my Totomaru Isshiki character analysis has been accepted to The Watsonian. Thank you very much to the crew especially @iwantthatbelstaffanditsoccupant’s call for submission of articles. Toto is slowly going to the share the pantheon of John Watsons and other JW-coded characters in every media.

Of all the merchandise on The Characters website, apart from Ron and His Floor of Sloth keychain, these are the things that I would like to have. Not sure if it is possible though.

Anyway , Akira Amano officially blessed that the English version of Kamonohashi Ron no kindan suiri is Ron Kamonohashi: Deranged Detective.

Name Change!

After years of going by Lizonka/lizzieonka, I will finally be changing my online name.

The new name will be Miya. And the new url will be @miyamiwu (don't follow this blog, I just made it to claim the url in advance). The change will be reflected here on Tumblr on my birthday on May 1.

Why the change?

For quite some time now, I've wanted a name that was more Asian-sounding because, well, aside from being Asian, all the media I engage in are Asian. Going by a Russian name just didn't make sense when nothing about me or my posts is Russian.

(As for why I had a Russian name, blame Yuri on Ice 😩)

I initially wanted to steal the name of my OC, Maya, for this change because it's such a beautiful word in my language (sorry, Maya, I won't take your name anymore. You can keep it). Unfortunately, “Maya” and all the good variations of it that I could think of are already taken here on Tumblr 😔

Then earlier, while scrolling on the dash, I came across a video of an orange cat and found myself meowing (as I tend to whenever I see a cat), but with the meow sounding more like “miyaaa”. And I'm like, “hey ‘Miya’ isn't that different from ‘Maya,’ and it's also cute.” So here I am.

Of course, the username “miya” alone is already taken on every major platform, so I have to add something to it. I came up with different lovely usernames here on Tumblr, only to find that they've already been taken on other sites. And I really didn't want to use different usernames on different sites coz that can get confusing fast so... I ended up just adding “Miwu” at the end.

The name Miwu comes from the danmei novel,The Cat’s Inheritance, and it's the name the cat protagonist gave to his human. And like Miya, it also sounds like a cat’s meow 😚

And there you have it! Fully making the switch will take a while, though, especially since my fandom emails and website both go by Lizonka/lizzieonka. (Thankfully, the domain name expires next year, so I won't feel too bad about it. Buying a new domain name, however, is not yet on the budget...)

I'll be going by lizzieonka until the rest of the month. But for starters, I went ahead and changed my avatar (now featuring my two orange cats uwu)

DraftDash: A 15-Minute Daily Writing Challenge

As we approach the final days of 2023, some of you may already be considering your New Year’s resolutions. Rather than setting intimidating goals, let’s make them more feasible. Enter DraftDash—a 15-minute daily writing challenge designed to make writing manageable. No need to wait until the penultimate month to churn out an entire novel. Let’s start this journey gradually, embracing short but consistent sessions, and cultivate a daily writing habit✨

Details

Who: Ideal for story writers working on their first draft, but anybody who writes is free to join

What: Write for 15 minutes daily. Don’t worry about word count, and don’t go back to edit. Just write.

When: The entire month of January 2024, but if you’re on a roll, you may keep going.

Where: You can set your own timers and write on whatever platform you prefer. But there will also be a Discord Server, where you can sprint and chat with other writers on Tumblr. (I’m currently setting it up, though. I’ll post the invite link when it’s ready.)

How to Join

There are additional instructions for those participating in the Discord group sprints (you can find these in the server), but for Tumblr-only peeps, here’s how to do it:

Day 0: This is anytime before January 1. Introduce the project you’ll be working on. Tag your post with #draftdash and #draftdash intro. I’ll be reblogging all the intro posts, so be sure to tag!

Day 1 and beyond: Set a timer for 15 minutes each day and write as much as you can. You may extend the time if you want. Just make sure to hit that minimum 15-minute mark. Afterward, post about how your sprint went. Tag it with #draftdash.

Final Day: Recap your entire DraftDash journey. Tag it with #draftdash and #draftdash recap. I’ll be reblogging all recap posts, so tag them right!
