The Ultimate Harry Potter Tag

So it's been almost seven years since I last read the books, but in those seven years I found and thrived in the fandom and have watched the movies often. I plan on doing this tag again once I have reread the entire series. I expect that some of my answers will change and I'm looking forward to it.

GENERAL

1 Favorite book?

This is going to be a common answer on here for now, but I don't know because I don't remember. I’ll say The Order of the Phoenix because there was so much to it.

2 Least favorite book?

The first one because I have tried to pick it up and reread it so many times, but it's hard because it is meant for children. It is a kid’'so book and very hard to get into.

3 Favorite movie?

For the longest time it was GoF, but recently I've really enjoyed watching OotP

4 Least favorite movie?

PoA, I'm not exactly sure why. I know I'm in the minority, haha, but the first time I saw it I just didn't like it too much and it hasn't stayed with me too well. I never want to watch that one when I have a choice between it and the other HP movies, I guess I don't care for it as much.

5 Favorite quote?

I’m not sure. But I do remember this from the first movie, I don't think it's in the book, but I was obsessed with it for a bit five years ago. “"It does not do to dwell on dreams, Haryy, and forget to live.” I think it's a good quote.

6 Favorite Weasley?

Why must you make me choose!?! Right now I’m gonna say Molly. Amazing character.

7 Favorite female character?

Hermione

8 Favorite villain?

Bellatrix is fascinating to me (let's forget that Cursed Child ruined her for me) I hate her, but she's fascinating. Also the Malfoys.

9 Favorite male character?

I don't know. Harry.

10 Favorite professor?

McGonagall is amazing.

WOULD YOU RATHER

11 A, Wash Snape’s hair, or B, spend a day listening to Lockhart rant about himself.

I don't want to wash Snape’s hair and I can zone out pretty easily, so I’ll listen to Lockhart.

12 Duel A, an elated Bellatrix, or B, an angry Molly

Aaahhhhhh I don't know. Probably an angry Molly because there's a chance she's not angry at me, whereas an elated Bellatrix means she's elated for a reason and that's never good.

13 Travel to Hogwarts via A. Hogwarts Express or B. flying car.

Hogwarts Express (Cursed Child “canon” forgotten) 

14 A, Kiss Voldemort. Or B, give Umbridge a bubble bath.

i don't know why I decided to do this without reading through it first, but I guess i’d rather kiss Voldemort because that'd be over faster and a variety of other reasons.

15 A, ride a hippogriff, B, ride a firebolt

I don't knoooooowwwww. Firebolt.

BOOK TO MOVIE ADAPTATION

16 Is there a character which you felt differently about in the movies vs books?

I don't know, I can't remember. I’ll say Ginny bc that's one I can remember. Or maybe Fleur, yeah.

17 Is there a movie you preferred instead of the book?

No. I can say that with full confidence. 

18 Richard Harris or Michael Gambon as Dumbledore?

Both. Both were amazing and made the role their own while still bringing the magic of the character to life.

19 Your top thing (person or event) which wasn’t included in the movie that annoyed you most.

I don't knoooowwww. I don't rememberrrr. Maybe Skeeter being an animagus? I can't think of anything that annoyed me because it's been solo looong.

20 If you could remake any of the Potter movies, which would it be?

PoA or HBP

21 Which house was your first gut feeling you’d be a part of?

Gryffindor

22 Which house were you actually sorted into on Pottemore (or another online sorting quiz)?

Gryffindor.... and then Ravenclaw.... and then hufflepuff.... and then Gryffindor again.... All on Pottermore... so I guess I'm Gryffindor 

23 Which class would be your favourite?

I used to say charms when I was younger, but now I think transfiguration.

24 Which spell do you think would be most useful to learn?

Either accio or lumos. We’ll go with lumos. Oh and nox I guess too.

25 Which character do you think at Hogwarts you’d instantly become best friends with?

I don't know. honestly probably Hermione or maybe someone like Hannah or something. Katie Bell perhaps?

MISCELLANEOUS

26 If you could own one of the three Hallows, which would it be?

Probably the invisibility cloak just to mess around with it. I wouldn’t use for anything serious.

27 Is there any aspect of the books you’d want to change? This can be a character, and event, anything.

That the other houses were better represented and Slytherin wasn’t hated on all of the time.

28 Favorite marauder?

I don’t know. I’m not too big of a fan of any of them, but if I had to choose it’d probably be Lupin.

29 If you could bring one character back to life, which would it be?

This is tough because I do think that all of the deaths happened for a reason in the book and bringing one back to life kind of undoes stuff. But I miss Fred.

An Introduction

I first read Harry Potter when I was in the third grade.

I reread the series countless times for the next few years.

When I reached middle school I found that I did not have the time nor motivation to read them again. By then all of the movies came out and I could revisit my favourite place through the screen. I got access to the Internet and was a regular on Pottermore and I became sucked into the fandom of it all. My first fanfic that I ever read was during time and it was Harry Potter.

But I still have not revisited the pages. I forget about things that I shouldn't and I forget what the movies changed. 

I am entering my senior year and I feel the need to reacquaint myself with the characters that I once knew so well, that I still love so dearly. 

So I will be rereading the series and I will finish it. My thoughts and comments will be posted here and I invite you to join in. I don't know how long it’ll take me, as there are other books that I also plan on reading in the coming months, and I can not say which will take priority, but I will reread the entire series. 

So join me as I revisit my home away from home, revisit the pages that started it all, revisit Hogwarts.
