Italianis

Rating: 8.

Kinley got a smoothie which was good, but she did not drink much of. She also got the kids spaghetti and said it was okay but not great. I got the Strawberry and Goat Cheese Salad and added Crispy Chicken . The chicken had no flavor at all. The salad was just okay. Tim got the Cajun Steak Alfredo and really enjoyed it.

Harvest Hall

Rating: 7. This was a really interesting idea. It is like a food court. We tried the Thai place. Tim got the Garlic Vegetable with Rice and said it was okay. I got the Pad See Eiw and it wasn’t very good at all. We will go back and try different food choices though.

Magnum

Rating: 10. We really liked this speakeasy type bar. Tim got the Gold Fashioned and said it was the best Old Fashioned he has had. I did dealers choice three times. The first drink I had included Liquor 43, the second one I asked for an aesthetic drink and the third for similar to a French 75 with saffron liqueur and spices.

Rating: 8.

Tim got a house margarita and I got the Sparkling Peach Margarita that came with a baby Prosecco to add to the margarita as you drink it. The drinks were decently strong and I liked how much I ended up getting for my one drink. It was good, but I probably wouldn’t get it again.

I got the chicken nachos and Tim got the combination plate. The nachos were good, but I would get something different next time. Tim really enjoyed his, but thought it was too much food.

I really like that they give not just salsa with the chips, but also black bean dip and a green salsa as well.

Rating: 8.5. I got the Pad See Eew and it was good, but not as good as Napa. Tim got the Vegetable Delight and really enjoys it.

Napa Thai

Rating: 10. I got the Lycheetini and it may be one of the best cocktails I have ever had. Tim got a Woodford and Coke and said the pour was average.

We always get the Vegetable Egg Rolls which are really good. I got the Pad See Eiw which was phenomenal and Tim gets the Stir Fried Ka-Prao which he says is one of the best meals anywhere.

Bottle cap Alley

Rating: 9.

Tim got a burger and the Cajun fries, Kinley got the cheeseburger and normal fries and I got the chicken Caesar wrap with chips and salsa. Kinley loved her burger and the fact that her meal came with chocolate ice cream. I really liked my wrap. I wasn’t a huge fan of the salsa, but Tim really liked it. My favorite part was Kinley’s fries though. They were really good. We will definitely come back here.

Blackland Distillery

Rating: 9.5

Tim always gets a Bourbon and Coke and I get a Vodka Cranberry. Their drinks are pretty decent for a decent price. Then we get the charcuterie board which is pretty pricy, but is our favorite out of all the ones we have tried other places. This time we also got the hummus which was pretty good, we just wish they had some crackers or different bread options.

Taverna Rossa

Rating: 9. Tim got a Woodford and Coke and I got a cocktail called Pineapple Upside Down. I wasn’t a huge fan of my drink, but Tim liked his. Then we ordered the Cheesy Bread, Soft Pretzel and Pepperoni Rolls to share. It was way too much food, but it was all really good, especially the pretzel and pepperoni rolls!

Rating: 6. This restaurant was okay. I got the mimosa flight which ended up coming with an entire bottle of Prosecco and three different kinds of juice/syrup. I liked the do it yourself idea, however it was really expensive. Tim got a Woodford and Coke and said it was about average. Then he got the bacon breakfast tacos and really liked them and I got the chicken sliders which were decent.

I don’t know if we will go back just because the service was not great and the restaurant was pretty dirty.

Ro on Oak

Rating: 8.5. This was our last stop of the day in Roanoke. The atmosphere was good, the drinks were good, the service was good and the burgers and fries were pretty good, but we were both so full that we couldn’t really enjoy it. We will definitely try this place again.

Craft and Vine

Rating: 6.5. I got a Pear Vodka Martini and Tim got an Old Fashioned. I wasn’t a huge fan of my drink and ended up getting something else. Tim liked his, but the service was pretty bad here so we left after the second drink.

Baja Cantina

Rating: 9. I started out with the Sangria Swirl Margarita and Tim got a House Margarita. They were very good. We had chips, salsa and queso. Then he got breakfast tacos and I got the Mad-Mex Plate and they were both fantastic. We then got a coconut margarita to share which was really good as well.

The only reason this wasn’t rated a 10 was because the service was not good at all!

Rating: 7. Tim gets the burger here and would probably rate it higher than a 7. I got the grilled chicken sandwich which was okay but was marinated in pickle juice.

Volstead

Rating: 9. Tim got a Woodford and Coke and I started out with a Tito’s and Cranberry. Then we got the Popcorn Chicken which was really good. I switched to an Espresso Martini which was amazing! Then I got the Truffle Chicken with Mac and Cheese. The chicken was good, but not as good as I had hoped, but the Mac and Cheese was fantastic. Tim got the cheeseburger and really liked it. It was crowded and really loud, but the service was amazing.
