Werid Obscure Movies #2
Adrenaline Drive (1999) is a Japanese rom-com directed by Shinobu Yaguchi. A rental car clerk and a timid nurse take a briefcase full of money from the yakuza, and a wild cross-country chase occurs.
The flim is an extremely easy watch filled with fun characters and great side stories that complement the main story. The story isn’t afraid to slow down the pace and evolve the main characters as they go through their dangerous journey. The tone of the movie is lighthearted, with comedic moments that are genuinely funny.
The script is surprisingly strong, with the plot moving forward with few hiccups. The movie treats you to these fun character interactions that just set the world of the movie perfectly. Some of the story beats invoke genuine suspense for the audience
The movie is perfectly executed for what it needs to be. Barring a part of the movie where characters make dumb decisions and it becomes a tiny bit tedious, the movie doesn’t have many flaws. The ending of the movie is its way of saying that it doesn’t care about being preachy but rather that it wants you to have a good time
If you love those weird Japanese ads,you are gonna eat this one up.

Werid Obscure Movies #1
The Fencing Master (1992) is a rather inoffensive adaptation of the novel by Arturo Pérez-Reverte. The story follows a fencing master in pre-revolutionary Spain who is hired to teach a young lady and the mysteries that follow when she becomes involved with a local nobleman.
The movie starts off as a historical romance with references to the Glorious Revolution of Spain and soon it fills with intrigue and questions. Though the film is nothing ground-breaking ,it is still a quality watch. It excels in all technical fields, with incredible production design and great music. The movie feels like a slow burn, but every moment is significant to the story.
One of the strongest parts of the movie is the dialogue. It is so fun to follow and the actors executes it without fail. The side stories are explored and becomes crucial in the plot
The story is a pretty straightforward story that might be familiar to a wider audience , but it still has lots of interesting things to say. It seems like a Spanish answer to samurai movies of the past. Dealing with the ideas of a dying art and the conflict between old ideas and new ones
If you like mediaeval movies, watch it for the great portrayal of historical Spain.
Also watch it if you think fencing is cool,I do
