Not to get emo on main but there really is something so meaningful to me about the differences between Michael and Mikey. When we’re introduced to Mikey, one of his defining traits is almost that everyone wants to kill him. He has pretty much no safe quarter to turn to, even Anne one of his oldest friends, actually kills him. He is not short of people literally going out of their way to kill him.

On the contrary we see Michael, who is the complete opposite. People like him, love him even, and go out of their way to help him. He’s uh, “charmed”, Ty and even befriended their Latvian landlord. Even in the latest episode Fe goes out of their way and takes a massive risk to give a compound michael a temporary stay of execution, as a kindness.

Idk I think it’s neat to have that juxtaposition, an almost tangible manifestation of “it doesn’t get easier but it gets better”, bc Michael’s life hasn’t been easy but at the same time he’s full of warm stories that our Mikey, as much as we have a Mikey that we started this story with, doesn’t yet have. When you consider how the mikes think of iterations, as an almost inevitable “I turn into you”, I wonder if seeing people treat Michael kindly like that doesn’t make the Mikey’s jealous on some level, or if they’re just glad they have something to look forward to
