I shouldn’t have to teach him this stuff anyway, it’s academy level stuff. ❞ Not everyone is an early graduate like himself though, nor are they more of a prodigy in their skills or a fast learner. ❝ I thought you’d be on my side but instead you’re taking his side … ❞ He grumbles, gaze drifting away from her. It was frustrating. He tried to do one good deed for a teammate and he was somehow still in the wrong. 

“now now, pup, i’m on both your sides. i can understand your intention given what a harsh world we live in.” it pains her to see children being trained to become shinobi at a young age when most of the problems were usually caused by full-grown adults. kaori was more than tempted on numerous occasions to bite the heads off of some the elder council here, especially the conniving danzo. the mere sight of him makes her fur stand on end and her teeth aching to bite through that smug smirk of his.

“but you also need to understand that most of these children here don’t take to knowledge easily like you do.” she leans down to nudge him playfully with her snout. “sometimes it takes constant practice and hard work for them to even match a fraction of your abilities.” which is true given kakashi’s prodigal abilities. “not all flowers bloom at the same time, some take longer than others.”

the blade of the tanto that sakumo originally owned and later passed down to his son, kakashi, was made from one of kaori’s fangs. it is rare that she gives one but because of that, her fangs from rather valuable and she has been targeted in the past for them.

her pack is strongly associated with the hatake and inuzuka clans with some of the canines descending from said pack.

kaori and her pack members reside in one of the more dangerous training grounds. if someone wished to form a contract with one of her pack members, that person would need to traverse through those training grounds and reach the pack to test their merit and skills.

she has a habit of napping on rooftops, especially near the academy, so that she can keep an eye on the children.

kaori is definitely petty enough that if she doesn’t like someone and they get close enough, they may ‘accidentally’ end up being swatted at with one of her tails.

❝ Maybe I could get along with my teammate better if he used his brain every once in a while. ❞ This would turn out to be just an excuse from the young Hatake as they absolutely both knew it. Dark hues fall on the Kaori, he stares at the summon for a long moment before huffing and looking away ( arms crossing over his chest in a defensive manner ). 

❝ That’s a funny joke. Really, I’m laughing so loud on the inside. ❞ On the outside however his expression was flat and deadpan as ever. He throws his hands up suddenly, seeming a bit exasperated as words begin tumbling out of his mouth. ❝ I corrected his sloppy footwork and form during a spar. I told him everyone would think he was an even bigger idiot if he didn’t stop being so sloppy and he got mad at me. ❞ Really, Kakashi had been trying to help in his own way but the way he went about it led to yet another argument with his Uchiha teammate. Plus, he probably managed to embarrass his teammate for calling him out in front of their other teammate, not that he realized it.

thankfully her years of living this long and rearing young pups kept her from outwardly rolling her eyes at her young charge’s little ramblings, but she was definitely amused by the whole thing. there was a term for this that she knew of but the words didn’t come exactly straight to her, but she knew the concept. those that aren’t able to comprehend their feelings just yet but express them in a way that would seem insulting to the receiver, something about pigtails.

“while i’m aware that your intention is to help him, perhaps you should try going about it in a more... peaceful manner.” at least with less insults, the head summon mused. “perhaps he would be more receptive towards that instead.” maybe perhaps she should have a chat with the uchiha, he seemed a lot more approachable ( along with the rare few within the clan ) as the both of them can react with hostility with one another, rin being the exception.

“up again late i see.” kaori had been doing her usual late night stroll around the village, it was expected that there would be some shinobi still awake, some working clearly through the night as being a shinobi village, danger may be lurking at every corner and the protection of the villagers was often top priority.

with someone like lee though, the child ( technically teen but everyone younger than her was still a child in her eyes ) should be sleeping at this point, but the head summon supposes that lee has his reasons.

“is something coming up or just can’t sleep?” humans are so particular, some cannot seem to live without sleep but then there would be others that can seemingly go on without even once taking a moment to rest their eyes.

“you’re staring again.” the wolf mused as she laid down on the ground, taking a moment to enjoy the warmth of the sun against her fur. winter was slowly giving away to spring and she always would take the time to just sunbathe when the clouds would part long enough for the head summon to laze about. tails waving lazily about, kaori stared out in the distance before focusing her attention back on the younger woman.

“something must be on your mind.” it wasn’t her business to pry but kaori always did take a particular shining to the inuzukas as a good chunk of their pups did descend from her pack.

“you know that it wouldn’t exactly hurt to get along with your team-mate once in a while.” the massive wolf mused, despite her massive size, her steps barely made a noise as she soon stopped a couple feet from her charge. though kakashi didn’t hold a contract with her, she cared for him all the same. in all honesty, the boy was one of the bigger reasons why she stayed in the village after sakumo’s unfortunate death.

“who knows, you two might have more in common than you thought.” kaori rarely associates herself with the uchiha, but a couple of her pack members did once hold a contract with one but that name was eventually lost to history. “what were you two arguing about this time?”

until i get kaori’s carrd up, here are them basics:

kaori is the leader of the wolf summons

her last contract holder was sakumo hatake

her and her pack have ties to the hatake & inuzuka clans

she can alter her size, matching up to the massive size as most lead summons tend to be ( manda, katsuyu, gamabunta, etc ) but most of the time, she’s roughly 8 ft tall from her shoulder to her paws

though she can be intimidating, she has a soft spot for children and will let children climb all over her ( just as long they don’t pull too hard on her fur )

she can speak, both vocally and telepathically ( the latter is more for the contract holder )
