Welcome to town, Gemma. The perks of friendships huh? I don't blame said friend for encouragin' you to move here 'cause it's a perfect little town. Still stuck with all the boxes or have you gotten unpacked and found your coffee?

At the recommendation of my best friend, and the unending amount of photos of this town, I decided to make the move. Then, as it turns out, I’ve shown up when it’s a bit of a ghost town. As my house is now covered in boxes, I’m looking for something to eat. Downtown is beautiful and I want to get out and explore, maybe pick up a coffee while I’m out. Hello! I’m Gemma.

who knew moving to a new town by yourself would be so exhausting, did you know there are people out in the world who actually enjoy the thirll of moving to a whole new place? personally it’s not something i do all the time, but i found my sister was here and i can’t be too far away from her, so if anyone would like to help unpack boxes in my little apartment it would be greatly appriacted. oh i forgot to point out, my name is isabella but everyone calls me bella. // @townofbayview​

Didn't think ice skating was in your wheelhouse, man so consider me surprised - gonna be watchin' to see if you walk the walk though so you better put on a show. Gotta admit I've not actually watched that show but it sounds like a complete train wreck and one of those things you watch when you feel like your own life is a mess and wanna feel better about yourself.

First of all we need to establish how much I love 90 Day Fiance but this newest season is insane. There’s not a couple I like on there but I’m so invested in it. In one of the couples there someone who brought their partner over to basically work on their farm and in another this girl is mad that her fiance doesn’t believe in the same things as her. Watching them all try to justify their shit is hilarious. I know my life is messy but at least it’s not 90 Day Fiance messy. Thankfully, the trip to Lake Tahoe came at the right time because my last few remaining brain cells need a break from the horrific stuff I put them through. Who’s excited for this ice skating party today? Not to brag or anything but I’m a pretty awesome skater so if you need a pro to keep you upright, I’m your guy.

It's refreshingly different here and I absolutely love it, I mean how can you not? The town is stunnin' and there's no crazies or too much traffic; it's perfect. I did most of my unpackin' when I got here so I'm just gettin' everythin' set up and squared away, findin' places for the last of it. Green Acres is bein' blessed with the good tunes but I'll be sure to play that if you're ever nearby 'cause it's an amazin' song. Appreciate the warm welcome by the way.

I’m glad you found what you were looking for. The truth is that life in other towns is totally different from this, even if this is coming from someone who has only lived in London and for a short time in Los Angeles. I did instantly recognise what my new town was going to be. You haven’t mentioned unpacking, is that because you didn’t unpack at all or because it was the first thing you did and now you’re free to go for walks around? Good taste in music, by the way. Which part did you move in? Hopefully I can wake up to some Don’t Cry sounds. And welcome to town!

If it’s any consolation I missed out too and my new years was pretty uneventful unless taking a ride out to the highest point and watching fireworks counts as hardcore?

That’s the game! They have some control but I can always override their free will if I want. You definitely can. Those Sims usually get up to no good and it’s fantastic. It counts as not sitting on your couch being lame, so there’s that.

So that was what the noise was i heard while i was walking my dogs? just kidding, it wasn’t as bad as you think it was, i’ve heard so much worse than that, can’t say my windows survived the damage though, again i’m kidding!! Okay, seriously, if you ever want someone to join you on your hikes I am definitely game.  I have been enjoying nature walks a lot more lately the last few years after shooting a pilot in Vancouver, that is what we did in between shots and on our days off.  Sing away, cause I can tell you myself and my kids are the same way.  Welcome to town, by the way!

I was really hoping it was some sort of paranormal experience that you were gonna surprise me with and now I'm disappointed that it was just a butt dial, I got my hopes up for some spooky stuff and you let me down.

So fun story of the morning…I was checking out at the grocery store and could have sworn I heard someone call my name, but when I looked around, no one was there.  When I got home and looked at my phone, I had a text message from my good friend Marlene.  Apparently I had booty dialed her over FaceTime and what I heard was her saying my name to get my attention.  Talk about a relief, I legit thought I was going crazy and hearing voices.  Please tell me I’m not the first person this has happened to.

This place is fantastic and a refreshin' change from LA, it honestly feels like it's not real life once you arrive here if that makes sense? Oh yeah Green Acres for sure, I saw all the space and the homes and I was hooked, man. I'm here for more of the adventurous stuff even if there's a risk of me fallin' on my ass but seriously though I've already been blown away by how stunnin' the trails are.

LA’s a beautiful city with a ton of great things to offer… but it can’t touch Bayview, I can guarantee that much. The trails around here are really nice, too – a little covered in snow this time of year, so watch out for slippery spots that you can’t see, but that kinda makes them more fun as long as you’re up for some adventure. What area of town did you end up moving into? I’d guess Green Acres, by the way you’re talking, but don’t wanna assume. How’s the unpacking going, are you making progress?

Come on, man you know I'm good for both windows, don't doubt me like that. Definitely no regrets, this place is already tickin' all my boxes and havin' no crazies and less traffic is just a bonus.

Nothing against LA, but you won’t regret making the move here. We have less traffic and not as many crazy people here. But good on you that you didn’t get straight to unpacking and that you found some of the trails here! Thought that the singing sounded familiar. You only have two glass windows to repair, though. Nothing too drastic! But because you’re my friend, I’m going to give you the chance to only fix one of my windows.

That's probably a safe bet, can't be responsible for injuries because my conscience wouldn't recover and I'd forever feel guilty. Hustle and bustle just ain't for me, man especially when it's constant. A person needs to recharge away from it all sometimes. Been way too long, how's life treatin' you? If I told you all I sat on my couch playing The Sims and eating cereal for New Years would you judge me? I don’t care either way, because that’s my reality and I think it’s important to admit that I’m lame. I just want honest answers. I heard there was a pretty cool party here though and I’m so bummed I missed out. It’s fine though, I’m just going to sit here and wallow in self pity while I eat this bomb Italian food and unpack boxes. Feel free to share stories of how awesome your New Years was though! I can tell you all about what my Sims got up to in return.

It's just one of those things that we have to do even if it's beyond a pain in the ass. Pizza is always a good reason to ignore adult life and responsibilities for a while so I support this.

Unpacking is such a bore yet really exciting. Does anyone else feel this way when moving into a new place? i might just forget the unpacking for today and order myself a pizza.

This whole thing just made my insides all warm and fuzzy; I'm here for all the care packages from mama. As tempting as that offer is I'd hate to take away the magic of finding out what's inside, however I'll gladly join you on the journey of mama's care packages.

Does anybody else’s mum have a crazy lack of confidence in their kid’s ability to take care of themselves and be an adult? My mum freaked out at me moving half way across the world despite me being the ripe old age of 38 and today, sixteen care packages turned up. Sixteen. I’ve opened three of them so far and it’s socks, enough herbs and spices to open my own exotic kitchen and soap. I don’t know where this woman thinks I’ve moved to but apparently it’s somewhere with no basic shops. I don’t know how to take this, I’m offended she thinks I’m not a great adult but also, not gonna lie I’m a little hyped about not having to grocery shop for at least six months. I still have thirteen boxes to go, so if anybody is missing christmas and unwrapping gifts, I’m open to letting you come go through them. Warning, they’re gonna be boring stuff like shampoo and tea bags though. @townofbayview​
