A new book about Nightwish (called We Were Here) will be released in February! So far, the book is only in Finnish, and there is no word at this time as to whether an English version will be available, so keep checking back here for updates. Click the photo above to pre-order a copy.
Some of you may have even met the book's author, Timo Isoaho, on the band's 2016 tour, taking photos for this book. Let's hope he captured the images of many happy Oceansouls!

This Thanksgiving, our fellow Oceansoul Zoë is living the dream of every Nightwish fan: she has made the "pilgrim"age (pun intended) to Kitee, where she was met by our dear friend (and friend to all Nightwish fans), Plamen Dimov. She not only got to sing some Nightwish songs while Father Nightwish accompanied her on piano, but she also got to go to Nightwish headquarters, where she could see (and hold) some of the various awards and prizes the band has accumulated over the years. Way to go, Zoë! Your OSA family is so happy for you. We cannot wait to hear more about your Finnish vacation when you return Stateside!!!

On this date (October 25th): Remembering Marc Brueland today, 14 years since his passing. We honor the memory of a beloved son and brother, ultimate Nightwish fan, honorary original Oceansoul, and courageous spirit whose legacy of love and strength continues to live on through the music of Nightwish. Celebrate his life with the songs that we all love—especially his favorite, "Walking in the Air"—in this video tribute created by our old friend Ms. Evenstar, who also created a "Higher Than Hope" montage, which we will share later today. We will never forget Marc Brueland, and as long as there is an Oceansouls of America, there will always be a place of honor here for him.

October 15th, 2003: a small group of Nightwish fans from North America form an online community for Nightwish fans in the United States. Fourteen years later, we are still here, and still going strong!
Our OSA family has grown since those first days when there were only a few of us. It has become more than just a "fan club" or a place to appreciate the music of Nightwish, it has become a family. Many lifelong friendships have started here, including among other fan clubs around the world. We wouldn't be here without all of you, the many people who have supported us along the way, whether you have been here from the beginning, a few years, or have just joined our community.
OSA has become what we are because of YOU, the many enthusiastic Nightwish fans who keep us going. Today is a celebration for you, so we want to thank you from the bottom of our hearts for all the love from each and every one of you. We look forward to meeting up with all of you next spring when Nightwish comes back to North America. Here's to the last 14 years, and many more to come!

For those of you Oceansouls who became fans of Johanna Kurkela by way of her collaboration with Tuomas on his solo album, there is good news! Tuomas and Johanna, along with Troy Donockley, have formed a musical project called Auri (Finnish for "aurora" or "sunrise"; thanks to Satu Eronen for the translation!). Surely this will be some great music to tide us all over until a new Nightwish album comes. More information can be found by clicking the photo above.
Thanks to the TLJH page for sharing.

The "Decades" tour is in accompaniment with a 2-CD compilation of the same name, due for release on March 9, 2018. The shows will feature a special setlist, chronicling the storied career of Nightwish. The band will be reaching far back into the vault and playing tunes that have not been played for years. It is sure to be a memorable event, so click on the photo above to get more information on tour dates and ticket purchases.

Just in case you haven't already figured it out, or haven't noticed...our little "news story" posted earlier today was nothing more than an April Fool's joke! Tuomas is NOT writing a cookbook (at least, not to our knowledge!). Thanks to all of you for playing along and being such good sports. See you next year!

Even though it's only been a few months since the end of the Endless Forms Most Beautiful tour, the members of Nightwish have not spent their sabbatical resting on their laurels. Everyone has been keeping busy, especially Tuomas Holopainen, who expressed during the tour that he could not wait to spend his time off working in his garden. Apparently, his gardening work has opened up a new passion: cooking. He has spent so much time at his new hobby that he is already compiling some of his favorite recipes for an upcoming cookbook, which he calls "Endless Foods Most Beautiful". Many of the recipes are a play on lyrics or song titles from the album, such as "Devonian Sea Bass", "Little Lucy's Lemon Bars", and "Jubjub Jam", to name a few.
According to a source close to OSA, Holopainen claims he first got the idea last year during the band's tour in North America, when he was up late one night after a show, watching Food Network in his hotel room. "I thought of all the tasty things I could make from the fruits and vegetables I was going to grow in my garden," he says, "and I started writing down recipe ideas. Once I got home, I started making a few of these things during the holidays, and after so many people expressed how much they loved my recipes and suggested I should put a cookbook together, I thought, why not? It's a great diversion from songwriting—which can be a stressful process at times—and give the fans something to get excited about while they wait for a new album."
While a release date for the book has not yet been announced, Tuomas predicts that it should hit bookshelves by the end of the year. Until then, he has been kind enough to give us a sneak preview of what's to come by sharing a recipe from the upcoming cookbook. Click on the photo above to make some "Shiny Rock Candy"!
