This drawing intends to show that eyes cannot see everything. The side of the face with the eye looks psychologically okay, but under the surface, on the left side of the face we see a tear. The tear is hidden to the eye, that’s why there are no facial features on the left side of the face. The water droplets that are surrounding the face are of different colors to represent all of the social strains that are present in society today. These colors make up the tear.

The scene starts in the kitchen, two girls are sitting at the kitchen table.
SARAH It’s a Monday and everyone is hungover
RILEY yeah I know, it’s pretty hilar- (pauses to see if Sarah is offended because she herself is hungover)
SARAH it’s okay you can say it’s hilarious
RILEY okay it’s hilarious (giggling)
Melanie comes downstairs into the kitchen, she has just registered for classes for the upcoming semester
MELANIE I got all the classes that I wanted except for one. I’m waitlisted for my science class (huffing with frustration)
RILEY lemme see your schedule! (pulls Melanie’s laptop over to her side of the table) you got a better schedule than me and I’m a senior!
MELANIE I know, I lucked out big time. Where is Sandra?
SARAH she is helping the other girl clean her room.
MELANIE again? She takes care of her dogs, she cleans her room, wow. (face looks confused and surprised)
RILEY what kind of dog does she have?
MELANIE she has a Frenchie, they’re so cute
SARAH they are cute but they have that smooshed in face
MELANIE exactly, that’s what makes them cute!
(long awkward silence. Riley starts cleaning dishes)
RILEY so how was everyone’s day?
MELANIE eh mine was fine.
SARAH me too. Just fine. Same old same old.
RILEY yeah me too.
MELANIE oh shoot I have to go get the guinea pigs from Bri’s house later
RILEY oh I forgot about that
SARAH why does Bri have your guinea pigs?
MELANIE (sighs)my heat is not working. It has been out for two days and it is 30 degrees outside. It is ridiculous! And my landlord is not answer my texts or calls. It is freezing in my apartment and I didn’t want to guinea pigs to die during the night. I tried putting a blanket over their cage but I could see my own breath so I figured the guineas must not be warm enough.
SARAH oh my god that is terrible. Isn’t that illegal? That your landlord isn’t answering you and that you literally can’t even live in the place that you are paying for?
RILEY I am pretty sure it is…
SARAH yeah you should talk to your parents about that. They should maybe get a lawyer if it goes on much longer
MELANIE I hate the drama. I hope that it resolves itself so that my parents do not have to get involved. I don’t want it to escalate to that.
SARAH but maybe you could get your rent money back! It is worth a shot.
MELANIE true. I guess it couldn’t hurt. I just want my heat and my guinea pigs back (Melanie sways back and forth, visibly stressed out)I am gonna call Bri. (dials phone, phone begins ringing) hey Bri, when are y’all done?
(audience hears mumbling coming from Bri’s end of the phone, only the time 3:50 is audible)
MELANIE I’ll come get the men when you get back
