I REALLY like "Good Pal Funnies." Definitely one of the fresher comics I've seen on Tumblr in a long time. Just the sort of comics I love to read over and over.
Oh man, I can’t even say how pumped I was when I saw this in my inbox. Dane Martin is one of my favorite cartoonists, and that really means a lot to hear. I don’t know what to say except thanks so much Dane!

Man I'm glad my blog is on auto-update so that I can take this time to focus on a protracted freak-out.

Is this anachronistic?
Can anyone recommend any newspapers or magazines that publish comics? Obviously yes print is dead, sinking ship ect, but there are still some cool places out there that can get you to an audience outside yer tumblr followers. I'm thinking things like Study Group in addition to normal newspapers and magazines. Let me know?

Hey guys, change in the update schedule. The last Good Pal Funnies that I made I really didn't like, so I took some time off. I deleted the old one any now I've recolored it. From now on, GPF is going to update every Thursday at 9. I have a months work of comics in the queue, so I won't be missing any more updates. GPF is a fairly early comic, and I need to get it out there before I decide I hate it and stop updating. New Reader? Check out all of GPF here Also: Chess is gonna go online. I've had it at conventions and mailed it to people, but I haven't actually put it up here. It will update every Monday at 8.
Other days are gonna be for random stuff, sketchbook, illustrations or short comics.

This is about A Big Fight™
I'm really enjoying doing these quick one or two page guys. The challenge to make a comic in a few hours really helps me focus and just go with what's at hand.

Review: Graphic Situations #1 by Shawn Kuruneru
Graphic Situations #1 is an eight page abstract collage comic. Shawn Kuruneru takes artwork from Peanuts, Akira, Watchmen and others, reletters parts of it and combines it into a visually engaging book. What I like most about it is that unlike much art that borrows from comics vocabulary, Graphic Situations #1 still functions as a comic. You can read it, themes are grouped together in time as well as in space, and the flow from panel to panel is readable, which creates a unique visual interest. Highly recommended. I don't know where you can buy them or how much it costs. I got mine from Rat Star Press at the New York Artist Book Fair. I traded them three coconut waters for it. Maybe try getting in touch with him through his website.
