The only downsides to IMSLP is that you're left with a lot of loose bits of paper...

Hilary Hahn: *Plays Paganini 24 flawlessly*
My parents: If you play that, you get the last piece of chocolate.
Me: I don’t know whether to be flattered that you think I can learn that in a day, or horrified, because you think learning it is equivalent to a piece of chocolate.

audience member after a modern music concert: I loved the dissonance in the oboe solos.
oboe player who was just supposed to be playing a pentatonic scale: *sweating* glad you enjoyed it

It’s really interesting; after watching Pas de Trois (there are several videos on ROH YT channel including an hour-long rehearsal, check them out) I’m definitely going to see this ballet.
(”The Cellist was first performed in February 2020,” so it’s an entirely new work!)
Online premiere: Friday 29 May 2020 at 7pm BST. If I remember correctly, the recordings are available for two weeks.
The Synopsis:
I’m not really acquainted with modern ballet, so it will be a novelty for me on more than one side.
I was wondering—maybe silly of me—if they’ll be using Jacqueline du Pré’s recordings, but that’s not the case; as usual for ballets, all the music is played live (well, we’ll see a recording, but you know.)
