inspired by a few of @warmblanketwhump's soft af posts and prompts :) her entire blog motivated me to finally make my own!

Character A is attending some sort of big, formal celebration where feeling cold seems secondary— or even embarrassing. They're in short-sleeved and/or light clothing, foregoing an extra layer because they didn't have anything fancy enough for the occasion.

Considering they're one guest at a very busy function, it's plausible that their discomfort isn't too noticeable. But having chattering teeth makes smiling for pictures near impossible, their chilled drink is painful to hold in frozen hands, and every time the sky clouds over their goosebumps prickle. It's miserable, yet they gamely stick it out, believing they only have themselves to blame. They attract more than a few uncomfortable glances as they sniffle and cough, valiantly attempting to socialise.

Perhaps another guest, B, notices them shivering whilst photos are taken, and huddles against them a little closer than instructed for the shot. Maybe they see how A's numb fingers have got that raw, reddish look, and offer to hold their glass for a while. Or they go a bit further, and shrug off their own formal jacket to drape around A's shoulders, admonishing them gently about not wrapping up properly. They quip with a pang of concern— 'you look very smart, A, but I'm not sure if turning blue is part of the dress code.'
