Winnie was completely and utterly bored. He previously had plans to spend the night with his brother, to go out and see the new Star Wars movie for the fifth time. The Gamer Geek had managed to spend all of his allowance on tickets in the last month, and now he had to turn to his brother for support. But, unfortunately, Seobin had to cancel on him for a last minute tutoring session. And that left Winnie with just his thoughts... and his xbox.
While video games were a source of endless entertainment, the promise of plans had made him itch with anticipation. He wanted to get out and do something, not just sit in his room like always. Almost like fate, his phone lit up at that very moment, sending excitement throughout him. Not thirty seconds later, he had sent out his reply.
[ → mojojojo ]: not at all. save me from my boredom!
(* it was all so monotonous – the day had passed by at such lethargic pace; the clocks ticked at half their normal speed, the students had shuffled listlessly – even the teachers had seemed to feel the effects of the widespread lull that had seemed to hang over the school the entirety of the day. there was no one that felt the lethargy more than sohn minjoo; her entire body, from the tips of her strands of hair to the soles of her feet, wishes for something, anything, to snap her out of this boredom. something exciting; something thrilling – something like; a dare. already the thought livens her spirits, quickens her pace. now all she needs is to find someone to dupe – she means dare.) “but who would possibly – him.” (* a devious little smile manifests itself on minjoo’s face, rosy lips turning upwards at the corners to show her pleasure. she pulls out her phone, searches her contacts, and comes across the name she’s been looking for. no wonbin.)

Looking down at the other’s feet, the first year quickened his steps to match Sehun’s. He wanted to make sure that the elder didn’t speed up without him. Winnie knew he could annoy people, even if he tried very hard not to, and the response he received only proved that to be a fact. Sure, he was being allowed to continue his following, but he was being insulted at the same time. Even then, the confirmation that he could still trail behind Sehun was more than enough to make him forget about the babysitting comment. “So what are you doing today, hyung? Anything fun? I bet you are, right?”
His question was a subtle request to tell the younger boy to fuck off but it went unanswered. He didn’t know if Winnie was too naive or if he was doing it on purpose, either way, he still wanted him gone. He didn’t want to be too mean though; Sehun didn’t want to deal with a crying first year. He hadn’t stopped in his track once as the both of they talked; another sign for the boy to go away but of course, he hadn’t noticed. Or maybe he had and was simply ignoring it. The boy’s reply was the answer to all of his questions. So he knew.
“I’m babysitting again I guess”, he mumbled, loud enough for Winnie to hear. It was his own way to tell the boy he could follow him while still keeping his pride.

I don’t even want to know what’s at the bottom of the ocean,” Winnie replied with his eyes opened wide in horror. Some of the stuff down there came straight out of his nightmares. People should just leave those creatures be and keep his mind at peace. “Oh my God. They could totally walk at the bottom! I never even thought of that!” Suddenly, everything he thought he had known about mermaids flew out the window, leaving his brain empty and willing to absorb Sage’s ideas. “Like Atlantis! That place definitely exists, and I bet mermaids live there,” he stated matter-of-factly. Anything was possible, right? Pressing his lips into a tight line, he tried to think of possible tests that they could run, but only one came to mind, “We’ll have to see how long you can hold your breath under water, of course.”
Words couldn’t describe how appreciative Sage was towards the first year. If there was anyone on campus that was willing to listen to her ramblings (or at least pretend to), and not treat her like she was stupid, Winnie was one of the few. “Right?! And those are just the things that live super deep down. Who knows what we’ll even find on the bottom of the ocean? Maybe mermaids don’t have tails, y’know? Maybe they have legs, and they walk on the bottom of the ocean! And maybe it’s not that technology can’t reach that far down. Y’know those isolated civilizations that attack whenever modern people try to explore it? Maybe merpeople keep destroying our subs and rovers so they can live in peace.” It wasn’t a thought that she’d had until now, but it wasn’t a thought that she’d knock out of the water (no pun intended) just yet– the entire point that she’s tried to make, time and time again, was that there was no proving or disproving what merpeople were like. Maybe Winnie was onto something, more than she ever was to begin with. “I don’t know! It’s just a feeling… But I’m pretty sure. What kind of tests would we even hold?”

Winnie wasn’t sure why he was drawn to the elder. Well, actually, he knew exactly why. It was because Sehun lived a completely different lifestyle than he did, and Winnie wanted to learn more about it. But there was something more to it than just the money that he had. The gamer geek just hadn’t figured out what that something was yet. So, in an effort to figure it out, he trailed behind the other with intrigue.
Hands stuffed in his pockets, he followed Sehun’s steps almost exactly, leaning to the side in order to get a decent view of the boy. The question broke the silence they had been walking in for the last few minutes, but was something he heard quite often. He almost always had the same reply, “Not until later. Why? I’m not bothering you, am I? I mean, I probably am, but not really, right?”
It was a fact that Sehun preferred older people; he wasn’t interested much in high schoolers no matter their usefulness. Outside of classes (and even during classes when Hanna decides she wants him to go somewhere) he spends most of his time at the university. That, made it almost impossible for him to get close to anyone his age, even if he’d have wanted to. Well, besides the student government that is. So, he didn’t understand why Winnie would try to get close to him.
He was currently on his way to the university, the first year student following closely behind him. Out of everyone, why did it have to be a first year in high school, a gamer geek at that. It was the worse combo for anyone wanting to get close to Sehun. “Don’t you have something better to do than follow me?”, he asked the younger boy, turning slightly to make eye contact before looking straight again.

Winnie was pulled away from the previous thought that the elder had left him with and immediately thrown into another mind-blowing conversation. Eyes widening in shock, he felt as if fireworks had just been set off in the back of his mind. Because, really, what if Sage was a mermaid? How would anyone be able to tell? There was no set criteria for merpeople, and if evolution truly existed, then who is to say that mermaids hadn’t gained the ability to survive on land? And while he had no idea who Keanu Reeves was, he was certain that the other was making an excellent point. Sage always made excellent points. “You’re totally blowing my mind right now. Like, I’ve seen some of the freaky stuff that lives in the ocean, and mermaids are totally more believable than most of those things. But how would you know if you’re a mermaid yourself? Should we hold a bunch of tests to make sure?”
“these people don’t know what they’re talking about, i swear…” sage shakes her head, a breathy laugh escaping her lips as she recalls an event from earlier in the day. it has no relation to the previous topic at hand, but the silence left her mind wandering, and the thought was practically screaming to leave her brain. “i think it’s totally probable that i’m a mermaid. i’ve thought about it for a really long time, and everything adds up. you get me? i mean, don’t you think that mermaids are totally real and walking among us? the supernatural totally exists, people just don’t want to accept it. like vampires…. i’m pretty sure keanu reeves is a vampire, so there’s no reason i can’t be a mermaid.”

Despite the rejection to his skinship, Winnie continued to walk in step with the other. His hands retreating to the safety of his pockets, he let out another chuckle, “You did. I thought you might have had a heart attack.” The second question caused him to wrinkle his nose, sticking his tongue out slightly at Eito, “Nope! My DS is dead and my other friends are busy, so it’s your lucky day!”
Just ignoring the other guy and shaking his head off while listen to that annoying sound of laughter’s. Why was he even friends with that guy? Wasn’t there someone else to bright up the mood for today, why does it have to be this game geek? Question over question running through Eito’s head as he heard that so simple ‘sorry sorry’ in the ass. Felling Winnie’s arm around his shoulder, the benchwarmer only shrugged it off. “Did I looked scared in anyway? Say don’t you have something better to do then sneaking around the hallway?” Not really amused about this sudden action. On the other side Eito somehow was glad to see this jerk around.

The sudden outburst of Japanese only caused the culprit to double over with laughter. He hadn’t expected such a reaction, but it was definitely worth all of the sneaking around he had just done. Releasing his grip from the other, Winnie slid back to the ground, gripping his sides as he laughed to himself. “Sorry! Sorry,” he tried to apologize through his giggle fit, but knew there was no use. The look that had been shot in his direction was more than enough to tell him that he was not forgiven. After he was able to catch his breath (which took a good thirty seconds), he jogged to catch up with the other, slinging an arm around Eito’s shoulders, “Really, I’m sorry. I didn’t think you’d get so scared!”
Walking through the hallway, it was just a boring day, today. Nothing much he could do, nothing that would cheer up this boring mood. Just a silent day the benchwarmer let out some quick sighs, while his hands were deep down in his pockets. Passing by some noisy first class students, they really got on Eito’s nerves. Why do they have to be that loud all the time? Sometimes he wished they’ll will disappear beside of him. But well… the basketball benchwarmer knows that he’ll only can survive in Korea if he’ll plays along. Faking a smile all the time people smiled at him, nodding his head and chuckles here and there. Suddenly! He stooped his way from one of another second, his body turned stiff as someone warped his arm around Eito’s neck. “NANI KORE!?” not noticing that he spoke Japanese as someone just landed on his back. Turning around and seeing Winnie laughing at him. Eito only shoots him some annoyed gaze and continues to walk.

Spotting a familiar figure walking down the hallway, the gamer geek ducked out of sight, eyes narrowed at his target. He needed to wait for the perfect moment, sliding behind a few first years as the other moved toward his end of the hall. Tongue peeking out from his mouth in concentration, he took a deep breath before leaping through the air at just the right second, wrapping his arms around Eito’s neck as he landed on the bench warmer’s back. A laugh erupted from him, pleased that his mission had been a success, “Guess who!”

The other’s response should have been expected, but it still made Winnie’s eyes widen in shock. Was he being that annoying? Well, he knew the answer was probably yes, but he hadn’t thought that he was being too energetic right now. Maybe he should just back away slowly and hope that the elder didn’t rip his head off. “Sorry, hyung. I’ll, uh, I’ll just get going, okay?”
“Listen. Listen. This is all great. I really do enjoy fun and games, but you know what I enjoy more?” His tone was pure frustration as he stood with his arms crossed. He has an exam his his architectural design class in a mere two hours that he’s only going to make it through if he gets his hands on something bitter to wake him up and much to his rare disappointment… Hanna was not here to do so. “I enjoy bitter, black coffee because it’s the only thing that jolts my system enough to even be half ready for my exam. So could you kindly… jack the fuck off and leave me alone?” The normally polite Jimin wasn’t mincing his words today– he couldn’t afford to if he wanted to keep his pristine gpa.

Winnie mentally went over his schedule for Saturday: sleeping until noon, playing Smash Bros, and then eating pizza with his brother. He could probably push back the Smash Bros to make room for a run. “Saturday sounds good!” he answered with a grin, reaching into his pocket to pull out his phone and unlock it. Handing it over to her, he hoped that she wouldn’t judge him from the Triforce background.
‘ good. how does this saturday sound? ’ sora replies, sliding her phone inside her backpack. ‘ preferably the afternoon since i have cheer practice earlier. ‘ oh- do you have a phone? give it here. ’ she adds, more then a command then a suggestion, palm outstretched in wait.

Winnie’s expression lit up just slightly at the mention of her having seen him run. He wasn’t exactly one to brag, but he was really good at it. In fact, running was the only thing he was good at, especially when compared to the long list that his older brother had. “Yeah?” The younger student glanced over to her with a grin, wondering if she was actually serious about it. People usually said things like that, but never actually followed through. “I’d love to help you train!”
gamer geek, not surprising by his awkward attitude. though she though know looking at him she realized she did recognize him, and the mention of the track team assures her in how. ‘ oh yeah. i know you. i had to attend one of the track meetings with a friend. ’ she speaks nonchalantly. ‘ so you’re a good runner then yeah? just so happens im terrible at it. i have to get in shape for basketball season, so we should train together sometime. ’ she states it simply, as if him being seen with her wouldn’t be a huge bump in his social status.

Winnie just nodded his head in response, although she wasn’t actually looking at him to see it. They walked in silence for a moment as she tapped away at her phone, and he briefly remembered all of the warnings his brother gave him about walking and playing video games at the same time. Texting was probably just as hazardous, but he wasn’t about to tell her that. The sound of his name immediately caught his attention, eyes widening as he thought over her question. “I’m a Gamer Geek. And, uh, I’m on the track team,” he explained, hoping it didn’t sound too lame. He wished he was higher up on the social pyramid, just so that it didn’t feel like people would judge him when he told them his spot.
of course he’d heard of her, who hadn’t? but formalities were formalities. ‘ well, civility you know. ’ she replies, sending a text on her phone to let her volleyball coach she’d be a bit late. ‘ so wonbin, what do you do here at mokwon? i’ve never seen your face before, which is.. something. ’ this was most likely as nice as sora would ever get, but she blamed it on her current distracted disposition. fixing her school bag and placing it over her shoulders, she halts in her steps and waits for him to catch up.

Okay, maybe the bag was a little heavier than it looked. After almost dropping it under the weight, the Gamer Geek was able to sling it over his shoulder, following after her quick steps. The introduction on her part wasn’t exactly necessary. She was a Ruler, and he knew all of the Rulers’ names. In fact, it was kind of rare not to know all of the Royalty on campus. “Right, I know. I’ve heard of you,” he answered, trying not to let his struggle with the bag show in his voice. “I think everyone has.”
she takes a moment, absorbs his name and his question, putting it into her little metaphorical black book in case she should need it. the female looks at her bag and then nods shortly, holding it out in her fingers. ‘ please. ’ how courteous. that always got people points with sora. besides, he wasn’t.. terrible looking either. ‘ i’m ahn sora- ’ she introduces herself, beginning to walk forward once she’d let her bag fall into his hands. ‘ vice president, cheer captain, yada yada. ’
