Summary:

Eliott’s reputation as the prince that never wanted to be a part of a royal family, and he certainly not the Dauphin of France, was known far beyond Paris. Because after all, the Lallemant’s were a highly respected and well-known family, and Eliott’s whole life had been prepared for a wedding that would reinforce the influence his family slowly started to lose.

Lucas, on the other hand, was a no one, an outcast rejected by his own family merely because he was a little different. And so he didn’t know anything about the Demaury’s and their son. The only thing Lucas did know was that he wanted revenge on the people that let him down and hurt him when he needed them the most, the people who disowned him and those who were responsible for it. But what happens when you fall in love with someone you never should have met?

In a society where pressure for conformity is strong, many gay people hide their sexuality, fearing prejudice at home, school or work. The obstacles are even higher for transgender people in the highly gender-specific society.

But while the law and many lawmakers lag behind, public acceptance of sexual diversity and same-sex marriage has grown in Japan. According to an October, 2018 survey by the advertising agency Dentsu, more than 70 percent of the 6,229 respondents aged 20-59 said they support legalizing same-sex marriage.
