The additional sketch and planning for my Angel

I choose to do different parts in different colours to help me see what needs to be on different layers

The is the end result.

However I think I could have maybe tried a different media since I know I’m not very good at colours.

I definitely think this can be improved further and would want to try redrawing this in the future in my own time.

While adjusting layers and merging them the wings got removed so I redrew them. I used the symmetry tool as it was easier to get the job done. I used references from Pinterest to help with with where the bones and joints would go.

Jeepers Creepers

Jeepers Creepers consists of four films, the first three were written by Victor Salvador and the fourth was Timo Vuorensola.

The movies are about a mythical beast that kills and harvests their organs every 23rd of March. The Creeper only does this to replace the ones that are rotting in its body.

Alien

Alien is a science fiction horror series. This is based on a story by O’Bannon and Ronald Shusett, it follows a crew of commercial space tug Nostromo, who, after coming across a mysterious derelict spaceship on an uncharted planetoid, find themselves up against a hostile and deadly extraterrestrial set loose on the Nostromo.

Demogorgon - Stranger Things

The Demogorgon, also known as the humanoid creature. The creature seemed to originate from the parallel dimension known as the Upside Down.

“ It’s also known as a powerful demon prince. “

When creating my illustration I thought of an humanoid creature and this came to mind. I took details of this character and interpreted into my own, the tall slender body.

I looked into some artists that created creatures and I found this. This really appealed to me as the artist is very creative and has a lot of different designs of creatures.

I took ideas as the artist created creatures that were humanoid as well as four legged monsters with animals like features. They all have distinctive skin and frames.

SCP stands for “secure, contain and protect.”

Third Eye

Also known as the minds eye or the inner eye, is an invisible eye usually depicted as located on the forehead. This provides perception beyond ordinary sight.

The third eye is a chakra associated with intuition, insight and mysticism.

This is about a young girl who believes she released creatures from a sealed ash pit in the basement of her new home.

Skellig

When moving to a new home, Michael’s world seems lonely and uncertain. He stumbles into a dilapidated shed in his garden and finds something extraordinary. He finds a strange winged creature who needs Michael’s help to survive.

On my iPad I have drawn different ideas for my work, I chose to draw different faces and hair styles.

For this I used ProCreate.

This is the process of the hair where I have used a brush size 7x and hardness at 50% the reason why I have these setting because it’s easier for me to sketch with clearer lines. I filled in the hair with a lighter colour using the bucket tool and filled the corners in with the pen tool.

If I needed to switch in between colours I would put a dot of colour next to the drawing so it would be easier to eye drop the colour.

Here Chris helped me and gave me some new idea to add to help with the effects.

I’m not so good at colour theory and where the light source comes from so be showed me examples. We decided to add a glowing light from the halos. Then we added shadows and highlights in the hair to help the drawing look less 2D. We made several layers to play around with different settings and colours.

This is just to show how I made a glow effect to the drippy legs.

I coloured the legs and went round the outside in the same shade but lowered the opacity below 50% then I doubled clicked the layer and added an outer glow in a lighter shade and distributed the surface area.

Process

Here I have started off with the face choosing a grey background. I had use the symmetry tool on Adobe Photoshop which helps a lot and save time.

I had decided to give her three eyes being she is an angel and the third eye is a spiritual symbol. You can see the eye bleeds golden which represents that the creature was once highly respected like gods. Her frame is frail and slender looking and her mouth has been stretched. I gave her eye bags and bone structure.

The colour of her skin was just to show how dark and dull she had become but also because I was thinking ahead about the colours I was using.

Her white hair really bring out the skin tone and I think it hits well together.
