I don’t know why did I spend so much money on a workspace when I always end up studying in my bed.

"sex scenes have no narrative purpose" is such a funny take on so many levels. people will really believe that the whole human experience is valuable to portray artistically except sex, which of course has never held emotional weight or significance for anybody

it’s the smallest habits. how you spend your mornings. how you talk to yourself. what you read. what you watch. who you share your energy with. who has access to you. that will change your life.

Butches and Studs, in Their Own Words. Excerpts from interviews with butches, by the New York Times.
Roberta Colindrez: It's such a powerful identity. S*xy in a way that's often overlooked. Lea DeLaria: Oh baby, you're looking at a stud. Mickalene Thomas: Butch is empowerment, self-identified, self-awareness, strength, love, owning your own body... Jenny Lynn Shimizu: I was always going to be the person who's right here in front of you. Su Friedrich: You have a feeling of being different. You know you're seen a certain way in public. Alison Bechdel: It was always a struggle to be allowed to be who I was, always having to fight against people who wanted me to look differently. Toshi Reagon: Sometimes they use they/them pronouns, sometimes they use he/him pronouns, kinda in the old-school butch sense. Casey Legler (they/them): I think all of us have had the experience of just being a little too much. Kimberly Ane Peirce: Stud is a term of huge affection. I think, for us, it's very much female body, with masculinity.
(Certain words have been censored due to Tumblr's search function and dashboard limitations.)
To any butches or studs who are reading this: I hope you're having a magnificent day. Know that you are loved and appreciated. Your experiences of masculinity and androgyny are legitimate and beautiful. People like you have existed throughout every culture on earth.
- Budgie
Edit: Some wonderful lesbians have contacted me, and let me know that the term "stud" has actually been misused in these interviews. Being a gay man myself, and therefore outside the lesbian community, I wasn't aware of this previously. I'm simply trying to amplify lesbian voices... I wasn't aware of these inter-community issues.
If you'd like to know more about the term "stud" and its history, please see these links as a starting point:

10/100 days of productivity
I feel so guilty in saying that once I got to a level of French where I could 'get by' at work I sort of....slowed down on the language grind. However, my boyfriend and I decided against moving back to Ireland and enroll in University courses in Bordeaux instead. That has just put me in a constant state of panic motivation to continue with studying French 🇫🇷 (I'm thinking of doing a detailed post on how I study french without traditional classes, would y'all be interested in that?)

wednesday 05.08.20 // a while
It’s been a while since the last time that I sat down in a cafe to work on something for university. My job at the landscape architecture office is going great and now I only need to finish my masters thesis and then I’m finally done with university 🥳

to lovely humans who were excluded from invitations, left behind when they tied their shoes, forced to walk in the grass when the sidewalk was full, spoken over when you tried to contribute, whispered about or laughed at, given the side eye when you tried to fit in... you are so worthy of love and I’m sorry people have convinced you otherwise. I promise that your people are out there - people who will see the side of you others ignore, people who share weird inside jokes with you, give you affectionate nicknames and go to museums or roadtrips with you and fulfil whatever idea of friendship you’ve always fantasized about. even if you feel like an empty shell of your former self because you’ve hidden yourself away due to shame, this exterior will melt when you accept yourself or let people in and you’ll realize there was nothing wrong with you all along. you have interesting things to say, you deserve new chances and beginnings, your heart is probably made of gold because you know what it’s like to be left out in the cold, and you have so much to give. you are so worthy and someone’s idea of a friend too, and I hope you receive lots of hugs in the future from yourself and others because you’re so lovable.
