You remember that post about the homestuck t-shirt design contest collaborating with hot topic? And how Hot Topic are the biggest art thieves?  This is recent.  As you can see above, I stumbled upon Hot Topic’s website and they are selling a very popular fan art put on a t-shirt, and did not ask permission from the original artist (rismo).

This shows Hot Topic still continues their art thievery.  Hot Topic are still taking art from artists without their permission.  This is disrespectful and appalling.

Just wanted to share this Dutch ad with everyone. Too much lately I’ve seen posts about transphobia (in the US, mostly). They make me lose faith in mankind, but then I think about the fact that not all hope is lost and that, in my little country, the Netherlands, we are very accepting of each other and we have ads like this on national TV. Sometimes I think what would happen if an ad like this aired in the US and the outrage it would cause. Here, nobody even mentions it and considers it normal. Great, right? Rough translation for everyone that doesn’t understand Dutch (just a note: this whole ad is basically one big pun, which makes translating it kind of hard):

An AMAZING display of solidarity from Atlanta, New York, DC, Philly, London and back to Nigeria. Men, women and children showed up in their Gele’s (headwraps) for rallies and protests today in an effort to push for more coverage and aid in finding the abducted Nigerian girls. #BringBackOurGirls

Really good idea, especially the nervous and deaf ones. A lot of people and children really don't know how to approach dogs, let alone ones that have anxiety or hearing loss. Some people just don't understand that nervous dogs can exhibit aggression if approached in a manner that they are unsure of or they feel threatens them or their owner. It can really terrify the poor thing when a random stranger just walks up to them with hand outstretched to pet them (I've met plenty of people who do this without asking the owner if its ok). Deaf dogs can also exhibit aggression when they are touched without knowing that the person has approached them (similar to the idea of a horse kicking someone when the get spooked by a person walking behind them unexpectedly).  The adoption collar is also a really awesome idea. Hopefully shelters will pick some up so that they can take advantage of walk time for exposure :)
