Malachi had spend about 90% of the day going from one phone call, to a video call, to yet another phone call and so on. It didn't seem to stop. It was all necessary, calls for work and stuff about scheduling but he hated calling, especially if it took up most of his day. God was he ready to just go drinking to start his weekend off.
He'd set himself, ordering a glass of red wine to start off, figuring he'd start of classy and see where the night took him.
He raised an eyebrow at the others remark, looking over before following where her eyes were pointing and looking at the young men, giving a slight shrug and nodding. "Hm-- nah the night is young, if their already this hammered I doubt their in for a fun night." he remarked, looking at the men, before shrugging again and looking over at the other. "I get wanting to let loose on a Friday, but I figured most people would be that drunk near-- well 1 am, maybe even around 12. But now? Seems wasteful of a full evening."

𝐋𝐎𝐂𝐀𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍 — a bar somewhere in the cbd.
fridays were never complete without hitting the bars for a cheeky drink after completing a day of work. at least that was the case for esme. she’d ventured out with a few colleagues, but while they became distracted by the appearance of an acquaintance, the dark-haired woman found herself deserted, casually sipping on her glass of red wine as she took in her surroundings and her fellow patrons that filled it.
her attention was captured upon noticing a man across the bar who had clearly consumed more than his fair share of booze , leading him to being babysat by his poor friends. it seemed too early for such public drunkenness, yet nothing seemed to shock her these days.
the sight provoked a shake of her head, a feeling of secondhand embarrassment washing over her. “some people really can’t handle their liquor.” she quipped to the person closest to her, the statement followed by a light scoff. “or perhaps i’ve just become less tolerant as i’ve gotten older. who knows.”

Kai loved to work out, be it lifting or going for a jog it always made him feel at easy and clear his mind. He had found the jog along the vine yards to be the most relaxing. The scents, the sights,... it truly calmed him down. He usually saw a couple people on this trail, however seeing someone take their shirt off and start doing push ups was new to him. So he stopped, and just stared at the other in confusion. "You-- do this often?" he questioned, frowning. "Is that a thing? Randomly doing push-ups... wherever you are?"
Location: Winery/Vineyard of sorts Status: OPEN
Brodie was looking around the vineyard, his jog slowing down to a stroll. Though it was catered towards the elite population, the male had a soft spot for the trails that led him here. Ignoring one of the many signs that stated to leave the grapes alone and listening to the intrusive rumbling of his stomach, the tall male took a grape from the vine and popped it into his mouth. Upon hearing someone getting closer, the Sato man took his shirt off, one-handed, in a fluid motion. Partly as a distraction tactic, partly to commit to the bit he was about to pull. "Damn, time for some more push-ups." He stated as if that was what he was doing this whole time.

Kai had spend most of day learning lines for an upcoming project, so much so that he had started to feel dizzy just looking at the words on the paper. He loved his job, he loved it all but the reading became too much some days. Especially since he had gotten a lengthy call from his mom about how disappointed she was about him wanting to pursue his acting in a different country.
Kai had grabbed his ear buds and headed out, needing some fresh air. The walk to the park was calm, jamming out to some music while every so often shooting off a text.
He'd stopped for a second to read and reply to a text, music softly playing in his ears as he spotted something coming at him from the corner of his eye, he looked up, only to jump slightly at the sight of a dog heading straight for him. He jumped aside, wide eyed staring at the dog before taking out one ear bud. "Don't think you're supposed to be loose there bud." he said, before hearing the other yell. "Knew it." he chuckled, grabbing hold of the leash and distracting the dog from the bird. "God you are strong." he chuckled, crouching down to be able to get eye to eye with him. "You scared me, not cool." he joked, before looking over at the other. "Yours?"
Location: Park Status: OPEN
Anastasia was both house and dog sitting for the week. Her friend having to go out of the city on a business trip. Did she have any experience with dogs? No. But was she going to turn down a friend in need? No. Hence why she was at the park, walking the dog along one of the winding paths.
What started out as a beautiful and serene walk, turned into a nightmare all because of a ballsy bird. The little guy deciding to be brave and flying almost right at Anastasia, who screamed and flailed and dropped the leash. Now, the big golden retriever was running after one of the bird's cohorts, and the petite strawberry blonde was chasing after Buddy.
“Stop that dog!” She bellowed out, her hands acting as a megaphone over her mouth once she made eye contact with the person. Her pace not letting up, even with her locks going wild in the air around her.

Kai raised an eyebrow as he turned to look at the blonde, he could only guess what kind of questions would hide behind burning. "Oh wow-- not what I was expecting but okay." he started, listening to the other with an amused smile on his face. "Honestly I'm on your side, beaches are so much fun. There's so much that one can do there, not overrated... also it's not really a immediate place you just go to hang out for a lot of people right? So it can't really be overrated."

“i have a burning question for you…” the blonde began, her head turning towards the person on the park bench beside her. “do you think beaches are overrated? controversial, i know, but i’m trying to settle an argument with a friend who is outright claiming they are, and personally i find it incredibly offensive, so i have no choice but to desperately gather outside opinions.”

Location: coffee shop Status: open
Malachi had a couple of rough nights behind him, having stayed up too late learning lines, getting the hang of some characters so he could audition for more roles. He had decided to give himself a break, to just lounge out at the coffee shop and chill-- however he seemed to have picked rush hour as the best hour to go. Hence how he ended up in an overly packed coffee shop, desperate to at least find a place to sit. He found someone sitting alone, maybe this was a good way to make new friends, or at least have a bit of socializing this week. All he knew was that he desperately needed to sit down and not keep looking around like an idiot. Approaching the other he flashed his friendliest smile "Would you mind if I join you? This place is way more packed than I thought it would be."

where: sugar rush candy store Open: @ashmorestart
If there was one thing that would never change about Ash, it's their sweet tooth. So before almost every shift he had they would stock up on snacks. And usually after their shift too. Today they had a day off, which was usually spend lounging around the house and doing absolutely nothing, however in a sad turn of events-- Ash had completely ran out of his favorite sweet treats, cabin completely empty. So instead of just lounging in his pyjamas all day they got dressed and headed towards sugar rush.
Stacking their little basket full of snacks, earbuds in as they browsed the isle. "Oh-- scuse me." they smiled, sliding past a person to get a better grab of a box of candies-- standing on his tippy toes to reach for the box, which he did manage to grab, but also managed to drop several other boxes on the way. "Oh shit." they groaned, pulling the earbuds out of their ears and as they bent down to pick up their own mess. "Sorry-- I didn't mean to drop all that." they sighed, giving an awkward smile to the nearest person

“Well you’d settle too if you suddenly woke up as a raven. Being the messenger raven for someone absolutely refusing your help. So yes I settle for fingers and hands.” He grinned, happily looking at his regained fingers. “Well I can see you’re not a woman. The Lucifer I met was— well a lady, blonde hair, bat like wings-- and tall. Man she was tall." he sighed. "I just heard the name Lucifer so I had to see if maybe you were the same Lucifer. In case they could help me— find a way back or something you know?”
birdiematthew
"Oh I'm not-- I'm already happy to be human again, I could be seventy for all I care I'm just celebrating that I have hands and fingers again!" Matthew grinned. "You-- you are Lucifer Morningstar?" he questioned, looking the other up and down. "Huh-- last time I met you-- or at least someone with your name-- it was a tall blonde woman, she was terrifying." Matthew spoke, maybe just maybe Matthew shouldn't be so open about all of this information, but hell this place was strange so why couldn't he be strange?
"HOW STRANGE. YOU HUMANS DO SETTLE FOR EVERYTHING." lucifer commented, looking over at the other with a frown, because.. well, this was indeed strange, that was for sure. very much so - he didn't have that much experience with humans and their stupidities or.. at least, he didn't remember that he did. did he? "indeed i am. do i need to keep on repeating myself, i wonder?" was he going to have to? "I... in the name of satan - a woman? i am most certainly not a woman!"

"Well if it's second nature than that sure explains why you're so mean. It's seriously not healthy, stress can kill you, you know?" he sighed, shaking his head. Why did he always run into the most stubborn of people-- and why could he just not leave them alone? It would make his life so much easier but no no he has to always help, curse his good nature. "Oh really? Well that's interesting, do you try to write like the others or do the books change style depending on who wrote it?"
birdiematthew
"That's not very healthy you know? Too much stress can kill you." Matthew nodded, crossing his arms in front of his chest. "If you need relaxing advice I will happily try to help you." he offered. "Tracy True huh? I love detective books, you already written a lot of them?"
"I THINK THAT SHIP HAS LONG SAILED FOR ME," donna shrugged, because.. as fa as she was concerned, it was the truth. when was the last time that she had worried about what was stressful and what was not? it had been a very, very long time since then and right now, she knew that well, that was for sure. "but thanks for the concern, i suppose. being stressed is just.. second nature." bound to happen completely. "a few. she was a family creation. i just continued the legacy."

"I am not old! Not by human standards, sure by dog standards but you lot age a lot faster than humans do!" Matthew said, shaking his head. "What does that explain? You-- you are a confusing dog." Matthew frowned, god he needed to know what she knew. "Being a raven was fun though-- flying is fun. And also-- chewtoy? Excuse you?" Matthew questioned, taking a step back from the other. "What kinds of things do you put in your mouth?"
"Oh your collar? So you're-- a regular dog then? Not like-- I don't know, created by something? Do all dogs think like you then? Like are you all-- sentient like you are?" he questioned. He smiled at her reaction, he had a couple of pieces of jerky left. "Let's see how good you are at catching." he smiled, grabbing a piece of jerky and throwing it towards her.
Cosmo giggled as the other contemplated her comment that they may be leaving behind a pungent aroma. She decided not to tell them she’d made it up. It was more interesting to watch them wonder what she had smelt. “Pretty old.” she injected into his complaint, not willing to back down. “You are human? That explains a lot to Cosmo.” she licked her lips, thinking about the other’s story and whether or not she truly believed it. Though, she’d definitely seen weirder things happen. “Would rather die as dog than live as chewtoy.”
She looked at him, borderline shocked and offended that he still wanted to press on how she could talk, when he had just admitted to some kind of shapeshifting. “Cosmo is dog. Cosmo talk through collar. Have a lot of important things to say thanks to space air.” She watched closely as he fumbled around in his pockets, her tail wagging slowly and idly in anticipation. As the beef jerky was revealed, her tail wagged faster and her tongue lolled out. “Give to Cosmo the bag of meat. Keep your chocolate poison.” She bowed, head going to the floor and back end raised in the air. A sign of playfulness.

Matthew looked at her, frowning as he thought back of what he had said. "Oh yes human again, I was human-- then I died, woke up as a raven. I was a messenger raven for the-- being of dreams? He wasn't a god, he was more than that if that makes sense-- and then I woke up here, and suddenly I'm human again. Which is strange because I have met a talking dog here so I don't understand why it is that I'm not in my raven form. Don't get me wrong I'm not complaining. I love having fingers!" he said, happily showing off his fingers. "It's weird, I haven't really gone out too much to talk to people, mainly been focusing on finding a job and trying to think about how I could have gotten here." he sighed. "Of course no problem, where I'm from we used to have a library with books about everything and it was all factually correct. I learned a lot of things that I thought were true about history that weren't. Nice to meet you Betty, I'm Matthew-- you're an interesting young lady."
birdiematthew:
Matthew was always happy to see young people in the museum, especially ones that listened as attentive as Betty did, so he gladly explained all the ins and outs of stuff he knew. “Not that long actually, I just got here– like– a couple of weeks ago I think? I’m actually not sure, I just– woke up here, human again and I decided to look for a job. I’ve always been fascinated by history and all of that. And I’m a talker, so I figured being a tour guide would be a good starting point. I read a lot of books back– wherever I came from, about history. Actual factual books, so I know a lot of stuff that you don’t really read about!”
“human… again?” there was a lot that she has taken from what he was saying but that had caught her attention. “im not sure if that’s the same for everyone but it was the same for me too. i haven’t been here long either.” she hadn’t spoken to enough people yet on their experience but she was branching out. “how are you finding it?” that was merely conservational. “i don’t know. history seems kind of important to be.” she chuckled, nodding her head. “well, im glad you knew everything that you did. it saves me a job so thank you… again. im betty.” @birdiematthew

Matthew had a big smile on his face as he listened to the other's questions. He always loved the ones who were genuinely excited to learn. "I learned all of them, from reading books and talking to people who studied all of this. I was very much mortal back where I'm from so I only experienced modern days, although I did always wish I could travel in time to experience it all. Even the bad things, it's truly fascinating isn't it?"
This had been pretty exciting. Ever since ending up in London, Adam had been trying to gather as much information as he could. He was learning something new every single day. The only thing he was still struggling with was the different between right and wrong. But he was slowly understanding how things worked around here. “Oh wow, that was so good. I mean, I learned so much today. I didn’t know all of that happened in this city. It’s got quite the history. How do you know all of those things? Were you present when they happened?” Adam was in awe of the whole tour and just had to go talk to the guy. This was a good way to learn more about the city and maybe he could figure out how he got here.

"OH, AGE IS JUST A NUMBER, HANDSOME. NEVER LET THAT STAND IN THE WAY AND WON'T YOU LOOK AT THAT? don't think that i will, either." lucifer giggled, arms crossed over his chest as he looked over at the other. yes, he was quite interesting, even if he didn't know who the other was just yet. did he? did he want to know more? yes, perhaps he did. "she? well, my, my - you are talking to lucifer morningstar himself. is this another miscommunication about me? HOW SILLY!"

Matthew raised an eyebrow at the other's statement. He hadn't meant any harm and he was actually trying to help, so he didn't appreciate the sass. "Well being frustrated all the time isn't going to make writing any easier now is it? So maybe taking a step back, fully let it go and look for inspiration elsewhere would help?" he suggested. "Fiction? Interesting, what kind of fiction? Like detective or sci-fi?"
DONNA WAS STRESSED OUT. DID SHE BELIEVE THAT WOULD BE CHANGING ANYTIME SOON? not at all and not in the slightest, because.. being stressed was basically second nature for her at this point and no, she didn't know how to change that. was that how she had gotten to where she was supposed to be? yes, it was. "well, it's second nature to me at this point. wouldn't know how to change, especially when it comes to my writing," it was important to her. more than anything. it was. "detective books. one detective in particular - tracy true. she's a family creation."

Matthew stared down at the other, slowly crouching down to be more eye level with the creature. "This place is fascinating--" he spoke gently as he looked at her, snapping out of his own thoughts to actually listen to what she was saying. "I guess this is some kind of new world yea and I wouldn't know who sire is." he said, oh the urge to reach his hand out and touch her was big, mainly because he was confused as to why she still looked like that, yet he woke up human again. He kept his hands to himself though, luckily. "I'm sorry I haven't been here too long myself so I don't think I ran into any of -- those -- people?" he questioned. "But I'm always willing to help, I'm pretty good at finding people."
death had come so swiftly that she hadn't even.. noticed it. at least, that was what lylla believed had happened. the pain had been overwhelming and her vision had faded, and.. after that, there had been nothing but peace. being with her friends. no longer having to be afraid of the man who had done nothing but hurt them. still, all of it had felt incomplete. her beloved raccoon had not joined them but.. that was for the best. he had a story to continue and one day, they would see each other again. still, the confusion that had settled in as she had woken up in a new town. a completely foreign one. alone. she was trying her hardest to be brave, even as she approached a human. just like sire. not all of them could be as.. bad as he was, could they? "is this.. is this the new world? is... is sire here?" she asked, lowering her voice a little bit in fear, already half expecting to be shouted at and sent away. "mean no harm. just.. looking for my friends. rocket. teefs. floor. have you.. have you seen them ?"

This was Matthews first adventure out, like out to a nightclub. He was old by all human standards, but that didn't mean he couldn't enjoy himself right? He had heard of this new place opening up. Lux, run by Lucifer Morningstar. He had to check it out. Even if it was just to see if this was the same Lucifer Morningstar he had met with Dream, he was curious to see the least. "This place looks-- fancy." he said, looking around as he sat down at the bar. "So-- this place is new eh?
LUCIFER HAD BEEN WAITING FOR PEOPLE TO COME BY. and no, he didn't see that changing anytime soon, because.. well, he had no reason to, that was for sure. the pub was the one thing that was going to be able to keep his sanity where it was meant to be, because.. no, it wouldn't be a good thing for anyone else if he were to snap. all these annoying little people - they did not want that. did they? "indeed it is. the fanciest around. and now.. are you.. are you here to have a good time?" he asked.
