If you genuinely enjoy being alone, do you ever wonder if it is an inherent part of your character or if it stems from feeling inescapably lonely in the first place until you taught yourself to enjoy the peace and happiness one can find in solitude? what if the reason you now prefer & choose solitude at every turn is because you were a very lonely child, or teenager, not by your own choice, and that’s how you learnt to thrive and grow, so you no longer know if you can do that around people? There might also be an element of personal pride, an unconscious “you can’t fire me I quit” point when your brain decided to switch your feelings about solitude from distress to relief. I often find myself defending my love of being alone, to people who worry that I can’t possibly be happy to live in an isolated house in the woods; I insist that I do! I really do specifically enjoy the isolated factor and chose to live here because of it, but then I wonder how to differentiate an ingrained love of solitude from an acquired ability to thrive off unchosen loneliness, to learn from it and be nourished by it; to what extent it might be a form of contentment built on a bedrock of resignation.

Sweetheart, I never thought Supernatural was about "incest" to begin with. I do sure enjoy Wincest in fanon but in canon? I absolutely loved that SPN was built around the deep brotherly love Sam & Dean have for each other and that it was never about sex or romance.

I 100% agree with Jared's view of the show. It was never a show about romance. It was a show about 2 bothers, their struggles, their ways to keep each other human & not losing themselves in this supernatural fucked up world.

J2 Gold Panel (denvercon) October 16, 2021

After 84 years j2 panels are back! I know we had the virtual panels and those were great, I loved them but I’ve missed this, I’ve missed them! Let’s not waste any time, y’all know the drill link to the full panel will be at the bottom of this post.

Jared walked out in a cowboy hat which he then took off to put on his beanie, which he also then took off, but this hat they kind of kept playing with it at first, one would put it down the other would pick it up 😂

Jensen put it on and there was some fangirl!Jared

Some things never change, Jared had some problems with his mic stand so Jensen - after going ‘what do you need big guy?’ - fixed it for him. X

Jared says they (talking about Walker) have one of the best directors he’s ever worked with to shoot an episode referring to Jensen 🥰

Jared says that his love for Sam and Dean has not shrunk, that his heart has just grown to include Cordell.

Jensen talked a bit about filming Herogasm, and what an experience that was for him including vats of lube that would be confused with the hand sanitizer 😂 X

“Do I finally get to see some Ackles butt cheeks?” Jared don’t go acting like you haven’t before 😉 X

“My homeboy” 🥰 Once again, a mention that Jensen will be filming on Sunday which is why he had to move his appearance to Saturday. I personally love how clear they were about this because when Jensen moves his day to Saturday certain people in the fandom started saying that it was because he didn't want to do a panel with Jared; that the work commitment reason given was just an excuse X

They got asked their favorite and least favorite roles outside of Supernatural. For Jared his favorite is Walker, least favorite is horror movies because of the filming schedule there’s a lot of night shoots in horror movies. Jensen’s favorite is Rust, he’s loved Western’s since he was 6. He talked about a bit the role, he’s been filming for two weeks, he got the gig less than a week after wrapping up in Toronto and he is a recast so the character he is playing was originally going to be played by somebody else; Jensen doesn’t think he can disclose who it was but he said he’ll try to get permission to share it but that person’s schedule didn’t work out, and when they were looking for someone new his name popped up.

Jensen also shared a story about showing off with a gun on set so he met up with the armourer so she could give him his gun for the film and she asked if he had any experience and he decided to play coy and act like he didn’t, she walked him through the whole process and then when the time came to test it he expertly fired a couple of rounds, according to him the armourer called him an asshole 😂 X

During Jensen’s solo panel a fan had asked Jensen what things him and Jared added to the finale that wasn’t scripted, at this panel the fan got the opportunity to ask the question again, Jared said there a couple of little details that were changed and/or added like in the script Sam’s line was “I don’t wanna to do this alone” but he changed it to “I can’t do this alone” so it would echo back to the Pilot. They talked again about how difficult it was to keep their emotions in check during the barn scene, that it was a very emotionally difficult scene to film, Jensen said it wasn’t just Sam and Dean saying goodbye it was them saying goodbye to Sam and Dean 😭 Sam and Dean pressing their foreheads together, and their hands clasped together on Dean’s chest was not on the script that was all j2; my heart hurt after all the finale and barn talk, I love getting this info, I love learning that the foreheads was all j2 but that scene is so painful and I’m remembering it as they’re talking about it 😭 X

Jensen sang a bit of the Applebees song again and I love Jared’s reaction, I don’t know how to describe it. You just have to go and see it X

And then we get to the last question. Somebody asked them when they knew that C’s feelings for Dean were romantic 😑 You can actually see Jared and Jensen’s moods change and kinda freeze as they realize what’s being asked, this is not their first rodeo they know what’s gonna happen. Jared asks Jensen if he wants him to take the question but Jensen starts to answer it. He says what he has said before that he did not play that, but he’s noticeably struggling to answer the question so Jared jumps in to help him and he gives a very lovely explanation, I’m going to paraphrase it because it’s a lot but even if you don’t watch the full panel please go and have a listen to what these men actually said, especially Jared, because the panel had barely finished and there were already people lying, twisting their words, and attacking Jared just because he pointed out that spn is not about romance. He, and again this is paraphrased, says you can love whoever you want, and love is not always romantic or sexual, saying I love you to someone doesn’t mean you want to do something with them or have them do something to you, that was not the point of that scene the point was that you are free to love. This gave Jensen the time to collect his thoughts and he added that to him the love that C had was Heavenly, he’s an angel it’s not a love that can be compared with human feelings like romance or lust. X

And then we finish off the panel with a j2 hug! Love the way they sink into each other’s arms 🥰❤

This panel was a much needed serotonin booster, if you haven't checked it out do so it was so good to see the boys by each other's side again. Now, you'll notice that this is titled Gold panel, usually there's two j2 panels: the gold panel which is 30 minutes and then the main panel. That was not the case with this convention because of time constraints, so there was only the Gold panel. And before I wrap this post up I also want to add the reminder that we got this panel because Jared and Jensen still wanted to do their joint panel even if it wasn't on Sunday and asked for Creation to find the room in the schedule.
